621  Economy / Economics / Re: First time? A company suing because people aren't buying its products!!! on: January 01, 2024, 05:30:27 PM
I just read this news and I can't stop laughing.
McDonald's is said to be planning to sue people who have been refusing to buy its products over the past months leading to their $1.3 million loss. This is due to a boycott movement where people in a lot of countries are sanctioning this company because of its support of the Zionist regime that is occupying Palestine and is committing genocide there.

Imagine if some day you are out and about, suddenly someone wearing a chicken suit puts a gun to your head forcing you to buy their fast food or they'll shoot you Cheesy

Ref: https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2023/12/359864/mcdonalds-malaysia-sues-pro-palestine-activists-over-boycott
are they going to sue individuals for obeying the sanction placed on them by their authorities or they are suing the government for placing a sanction on them that has affected their business negatively?

Every national has the right to make decisions that they feel will protect her citizens and this might include sanction as this and I doubt that the threat to make any sue is a realistic one since ad most nations won't even give an f to it.
622  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: New year's Goals. on: January 01, 2024, 05:22:26 PM
It's not just to write out goals every year, you need to know what you want out of life and start doing it without waiting for the beginning of a year when you will make bunch of resolutions and set unrealistic goals that you won't be able to follow it up within the next two months.

The new year should be used for improvement and doing personal assessment to see if you are doing the right thing or not, don't use goals and regulation to tie yourself up not to experiencing the loads of possibilities that awaits you.

Sometimes it's even best way pray for God to help us fulfil the plan he has prepared for us in the year. No go de write wetin you no go fit keep.
623  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Which require more attention? on: January 01, 2024, 05:14:03 PM
We know say an average nija man get two place of residence, one na the place when him de stay carry out him hustle and the other one na the village when him come out from and as e de normally be, most persons de put in the effort to ensure say them try live comfortable for their hustling ground and still set up some structure for vila so that them fit live well whenever they visit home for a season as this.

But when it comes to which of the place of residence one should invest much attention into, there seems to be some sort of difference in view because while some persons think that it's necessary that we make the hustling ground as comfortable as possible by investing hugely in getting a comfortable accommodation and giving it the best interiors, others would prefer to stay in a one bedroom apartment while they are building mansion in the village.

The thing is that we don't stay more than say a week in the village most times and we spend 99% of our lives in the hustling ground but no matter how comfortable we are in our hustling ground, people tend to judge us more from the kind of structures we have in our villages.

What's your take on this?
Should we invest more into our hustling or working residence or would it be better to invest more into our houses in the village since that's technically our real home.

Most of una already de vila like this and I go wan hear una opinion.

625  Other / Meta / Re: Opinion on Spelling Check on: December 31, 2023, 04:23:13 AM
I know this isn't exactly microsoft word but I am curious to know if you think that the Bitcoin Talk Forum is probably more real and authentic because of the lack of a spell check? I think that in addition to being able to guage intelect and a sort of personality traits to pick up from the readers perspective recognizing proper spelling habits in any users helps you know whether or not a person is out of character due to a hack or something of that sort and now we have an account under the control of a hacker/scammer. I think its honeslty great that we don't have a spell check because I think it always has you second guessing yourself and thus training you to always double or triple check your words on a public forum.
you know the saying that anything that is worth doing is wort doing well with?

As long as we know that the forum is a discussion forum and that it requires writing on a regular bases, it becomes necessary to improve on our writing skill if not for ourselves, but for the sake of the person reading what we've penned down at the other end.
626  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you do with your altcoin holding with low value on: December 31, 2023, 04:03:37 AM
Unfortunately, the majority of alts are dead on delivery. And sometimes it's better to just sell them at current levels while they have any price
some don't even have a current price. Their are done that has a value as low as $0.0023, would you still want to sell it?

I guess from the advice I have seen so far, it's better to hold it and hope that it price goes up in the nearest future. But this could be challenging, you might not take the wallet private key seriously and if it value finally comes up, it becomes a huge problem for you.
627  Other / Archival / Re: Generational wealth on: December 31, 2023, 03:53:08 AM
What would be your advice for a pharmacist hoping to create generational wealth in the pharmaceutical industry
generational wealth is not just created by just wishing or asking questions as this. You need to be diligent in your pharmaceutical business, decide to stand out and remain consistent and work on become a reliable brand that everybody can rely on and have this sense of trust that they unconsciously put you first whenever they are considering making any purchase.

It requires finance and not just little finance, you can't use a kiosk pharmacy to create generational wealth, you need to invest into the business hugely If you intend creating wealth for yourself and even have something to leave behind.
628  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 😉; It's The Weekend,Banks Are Closed, Bitcoin Is Up 24/7hrs on: December 31, 2023, 03:41:34 AM
It's a good sunday evening to remind lots of people who must have lots of trust in the government and the banks. They are all in for the control and power forcefully placed to deny those who aren't self aware of the freedom they should hey whenever they utilize bitcoin.
Bitcoin network has been current, up to date, and also transparent with the help of the blockchain, I just want to say, stick with bitcoin and even if currently cash is king and we can not over run it yet, Bitcoin gives you the power and control over your money not the fiat.
banks closing on weekends is not a index or a justification to say that the government are over regulating the use of the fiat currency. Remember that even after they have closed, the mobile banking is still functional which works more like the 24 hour transaction  the that bitcoin runs.
What I'm trying to say in essence is that although the fiat banking system has it limitation and that bitcoin obviously is better than it in a wider look, that doesn't call for the use of a derogatory statement towards the fiat bank so we don't misinform those naive mind that are just joining the fitum.
629  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Agboro and masquerade on: December 30, 2023, 08:41:58 PM
My oga dem for this forum I dy greet everybody, today e get one thing way agboro they do for we naija during Xmas period like this, wey I want make we tlk about, because e dy really worrysome and funny.
You go see agboro we for go find work do or look for business do, dem go carry masquerade as work during Xmas period like this.
The one wey nearly bust my head na the one I see for my koro koro eye,  when the agboro their oga gather like five different masquerade wey dem don dress finish, him say na him get dis masquerade, so dem dy wrk under him, him put dem for road make dem go hustle(beg money) for am, the funny aspect is that him even give dem target for the day, like how much dem must bring for am, and tell them to keep the rest if dem hustle pass.
My country people hw ona see this kind hustle?
this is one of the reason why our traditional and religious institution have lost it value. Nobody De fear all those masquerade again because he already know who de wear am and mostly those ones when dem de play for cities, an hustle all of them de hustle. How agbero go de wear masquerade uniform?no be junk be that?

The gods don see where for people can't and na because of this kind things you de see say army men de beat masquerade anyhow because them no say no power de I'm again as dem don monetize am already.
630  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Board selection as a newbie on: December 30, 2023, 08:36:04 PM
My post isn't a long one actually but I really want to know the Board to stick with as a newbie which will help me to grow my account and Knowledge also, I believe other Newbies Can gain from it.
as a newbie, all the different board are necessary as they all serve specific purposes and gives you unique information that will build you up to becoming better in the forum.

You could check more information from beginners and help section as most of the questions you intend asking has already been asked their. Other board like the local board, altcoin, economy, general board, gambling etc are also very useful and are filled with information that will equip you well in the forum. Just go through all of them and see what people are doing and if you have any view to make, don't fail to do so.
631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a Replacement for a College Savings Plan on: December 30, 2023, 08:30:54 PM
The traditional mutual fund / 529 plan isn't really needed anymore if college isn't going to be a requirement, but now I am more so just thinking of a life savings plan is a much better and more flexible option. Maybe just set them each up a wallet and load x amount each making quarterly contributions. By the time they are old enough surely they would have more money in that account anyways compared to the mutual fund, right?
this is an interesting idea that will do more good to young people preparing for adulthood.

Imagine we invested all the money we are spending in school into something like bitcoin it any other thing, within the four to five years we stay in school, we would have saved or invested a huge amount of money. Like in my undergraduate days, what we spend a session for school expenses minus food is roughly $300, if you multiply it by five that should give you around $1500, if such amount is invested within 2 to 3 years, the returns would be reasonable to a very large extent.
632  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What do you do with your altcoin holding with low value on: December 30, 2023, 08:07:06 AM
For those of us that are into altcoin signature campaign and have accumulate some in your wallet, what do you do with it since some of them has low value at the moment if you check their current price?

Do you keep holding it hoping that the price will finally come up since it seems you can't actually trade it with it current value.

Will the altcoin become valueless after the campaign is over or could still gain value after some years.
633  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have You Accomplished What Brought You to Bitcoin? on: December 30, 2023, 07:52:32 AM
What brought you to Bitcoin and how much of it have you accomplished?
the quest for financial freedom has always been tye number one factor that sponsors most journey and mine is not left out. It was in my quest to increase my financial productivity that I learnt about cryptocurrency and bitcoin being the first and most popular of them all made me join the forum so I can learn from the multitude of experienced individual already doing well in the field and also get some financial benefit along the line while learning and contributing to the forum.

I haven't stayed all that long in the forum but I can't say that my journey hasn't yielded some great result and so I must say that I have come a bit far in the forum and I am still climbing and striving I do even more than what I have done at the moment. 2024 is just by the corner and I'm hoping for a great journey ahead of me.
634  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: December 30, 2023, 07:44:53 AM
I know that everything in life comes with some form of risk and Bitcoin is not exempted but magnifying the risk of Bitcoin in a discussion that focuses on holding for long is inappropriate because Bitcoin so far seem like a safer investment for a long time view. Most of the risk associated with Bitcoin affect those looking for quick profits like many people already stated here.
while it is not totally good to magnify the risk associated with bitcoin investment most especially as it regards individuals intending to buy and hold, it's also necessary that they get to know the possible risk involved so they can better protect themselves against any form of attacks that could come there way and also know the sources and means of the risk and attack.

While anyone intend holding, he has to be aware that his wallet could be hacked and all his holding taken away, he also has to be aware that the volatile nature of Bitcoin entails that the price can come down momentarily and that better enable him to manage whatever reality that comes while holding. I guess the idea on hyping the risk involved in buying and holding bitcoin is for the good of the person buying it so he could count all the cost and hold on appropriately.
635  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to accept crypto payments? on: December 30, 2023, 07:22:42 AM
Should I share my wallet address and ask clients to send payments to it?
Yeah, I doubt it's more complicated than that.
Isn't it troublesome?
its just like giving out your fiat account number, I doubt their is anything complicated about it.

Payments could be sent to the wrong wallet address and also it would be difficult to manage the transaction history. What should I do?
i guess what you are trying to say is that while the person that is sending the money is copying your wallet address, he might make a mistake with a letter or number and so send it to the wrong person.

I doubt this is the case because it's always that you just copy the address and paste it and I doubt it could result in such situation.
636  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Unless the prime suspect is caught, everyone is a suspect. on: December 30, 2023, 07:11:14 AM
That's the main reason why I don't just believe a random person that coms to my dm with mouth watering business ideas and and update that's so good to be true. Although I feel that over-suspecting everything we find on the internet might make us miss some important opportunity that would have been of high benefit to us and so what I do most of the time is to make my own personal research regarding whatever information or update someone brings and if i get positive feedback from people, I consider going into it but if i get negative feedback, I find the nearest exit point asap.
637  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How do you see young girls who engage into prostitution on: December 30, 2023, 07:00:25 AM
Unarguably, we are in a time where men find every opportunity to devalue women especially young promising girls with bright futures just for fun or one interest or the other .one day I saw a young girl been dropped out of a vehicle and she turned mad immediately and I was confused because most young girls have failed to work rather they choose to sleep different men just to buy iPhone or latest hair or dresses and so on.

However, why question here is “do women actually sell their integrity for phones, cloth , hairs, or bags ?and it is quite disheartening that most of them are used for money rituals just because of their laziness and quest for material things so I now ask ‘ is prostitution the best option for a young lady ? Please guys I will really love to hear your opinions on this !
there are so many factors that could lead one to becoming a prostitute and I don't think it's necessary to always assume all of them intentionally sell off their body just for no reason. Maybe we should understand that the root course and the main reason why girls become prostitute is lack of financial capability to providing for themselves and some of them just see that means as the only way of helping themselves out.
I believe that every prostitute has a story to tell regarding their journey into the ill act and I know the story isn't funny to be very honest.

But for the ones that joined the act because of laziness and carelessness, those are totally different set of people and they are the ones that combine prostitution with other criminal activities like stealing, blackmailing, rubbery, killing etc.
638  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How Does Bitcoin information help your present situation? on: December 30, 2023, 06:32:58 AM
My fellow naija people! Dem say follow who know road.. if you no follow who no road you go suffer till you go tire😄 sometime in life people dey always think say Dem dey make am, not knowing say Dem dey deceive themselves.

Socialization is one good factor of success. If you always find it difficult to socialize with people it will definitely affect you in one way ore the other. Expecially in this kind of our business.

Question: always ask question. Our people say person wey dey ask questions no dey mis road. So many people lack that character of asking question. If to say I no ask question I for no ft find this forum.

Ditermiation and consistency is also a good factor of success. Always make judicious use of any important information that comes to you otherwise you always find it difficult to succeed.

So guys wetting ona fit talk for this matter?
one of the key things not never to give up even if you experience stagnation along the way. This is one of the serious leasin I have learnt in tye forum because their are moment you might seems stuck despite your effort and result might not be coming but if you keep pushing and trying with time you will start experiencing growth.

Socialization is also very necessary and the fact that by actively contributing in the forum gets you being noticed had also thought me to be active in the real world as it also has a whole lot of benefit in projecting you out their.

this goes to show that it's not about age but more the information one has and the passion and drive to following up the information. It's quite an inspiring story to see someone that young doing so well in the industry already and I can bet that he must have grown up among crypto and tech enthusiast that inspired him to have come this far within such span of time.

This seriously is a huge motivation to me and I must teach my children while they are still young to get seriously involved in trending tech and I believe if we educate the coming generation early enough, they will become strong captains of our industry before even getting to their mid 20s
640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Newbie alert - how to get on the bandwagon? on: December 30, 2023, 06:04:33 AM
Hi all.
Like with everyone, trying to get on the bandwagon but I am a total newb. Sincerely asking for legit help.

How do I start buying/investing into crypto? What tools do I need to? What broker do I need? (I do have Robinhood if it helps)
I am NOT looking to mine, just to buy and sell and make a modest amount in a shortish-med timeframe (not talking years).
What should I be aware of? What are the newest or fastest growing with a high gain? I read, like everyone has, about SOL and how in 6 days some person made a ton of money. Obviously not looking to make that amount of money but again, a modest amount.

I have $2.5K I can happily play with to start with.

Looking forward to your responses.
you are welcome to the forum and I must say that you're in the right place. Buying bitcoin as a beginner isn't the wrong step to follow but I just want you to know that the mentality that you can just buy bitcoin and within the next 6 days, you will just make turns of money would give you unease in your bitcoin investment and so if the $2.5k is you spare money that you can afford to invest and not easily get worried about it, yo can use it and buy bitcoin and hold it till the price reaches a reasonable amount that is above the amount you bought it and that you're comfortable enough to selling it.

Talking about how to buy your bitcoin and the best way to go about it, I guess the post explains and has done a reasonable justice to you question and I will recommend you go through it.
