621  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why social media influencer is a danger to our newbies on: February 13, 2024, 09:34:13 AM
We are in a computer age now where awareness about things happening around us are being gotten earlier and it is necessary for us to have a clear understanding about whatever thing any influencer or celebrity is trying to entice the public to do. Of a recent, I now observed that they now use celebrities for their promotions and advertisement in other to lure people that what they are talking about is genuine because since it's a celebrity that everyone knows it would be difficult for the system to be fraudulent because people feels that a celebrity can not compromise their reputation but despite that, everyone that has been accessing social media should know fully well that the use of influencers and celebrities to promote some online stuffs is just a strategy to persuade people to be involved, and those influencers doesn't really care about their reputation as all they're after is the money they would get in the promotions and advertisement.

Though there are still people that gives good information on wealth creation platforms not really because they have made it through but because they also have that intention of people joining them in what they are doing as well because when more people are involved in something, it makes the system to get trust and recognition and more people will be interested unlike when it's only few people that are involved as others would be afraid of joining because they may feel that the few people are working together in their own benefits as joining them may be risky.
622  Other / Off-topic / Re: Day school or boarding school which is better for your child? on: February 11, 2024, 08:35:31 AM
personally love boarding school only when it is a Military boarding school. I love it for my son even though he has his own choice but for the period I get to make decisions for him he will attend a military boarding school.

I have lots of people around me that inspired me to make such decisions… it’s not necessary my son has to join the force later in his future, but I personally love the kind of discipline they instill.

Or could I be wrong?

Be it day school or boarding school it's dependent on the quality of teaching being given to the child because actually the child isn't going to school because of the building but rather to get educated and if I was to choose I think the day school is better because it exposes one's child to things happening in the environment unlike boarding school that the children's movement are restricted though it tends to give the child more discipline but it makes a child become so dull as they feel like they're caged in one place for a long time without getting access to family or other people as they are stucked among themselves
623  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who is a boss? on: February 11, 2024, 08:19:57 AM
So many people misinterprete boss. To me a person that add value to your life is to be quantified as boss. But many people classified there boss as someone that usually give them money always without showing them a way to succeed. Some people classify boss as a person who is an expert in womanizing. Because he always connect you to classic babes. There is a guy in my area that always post his his boss on social media praising him always. But I haven't seen any impact his boss has added to his life. So the thought keeps me wondering who should be called a boss?

It is very bad how people call someone a boss simply because they get financial assistance from them. A boss to me is someone that understands the importance of your well being and also make sure that you're doing something useful with your life, guides you on how you will go in other to succeed in life, advices you when you ain't going the right direction and always check up on you to know your activities and also takes part in making you to become useful in life.
624  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Rich or poor gambler, who should risk more? on: February 11, 2024, 08:11:56 AM
Gambling an activity for fun also has the chance to turn someone's fortune. Calculated risk when taken in gambling can be the way to big wins from gambling. Who do you think should take more risk in gambling? The rich gambler or the gambler who is not yet rich.

None should take higher risk because what is applicable to the rich in gambling is also same with an average or a poor gambler, the only difference is that the rich can bear the outcome of his loss whereas the average man doesn't because his hopes is bestowed on a risk being taken but no matter what, no body should take higher risk because even the rich has higher risk of feeling the pain because a huge amount is at staked whereas the average man risk the little he has and when a rich man losses huge amount of money to gambling it affects their psychological health and due to high risk that are mostly taken by the rich people causes the rate of high blood pressure to be on the increase among rich people.
625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Taking a break in gambling on: February 11, 2024, 08:03:36 AM
How do you guys manage to take a break in gambling? I’m not asking for advice but rather I’m just interested to know what you are doing on your own or if you really do a break.

I recently decided to take a break since I want to hold my crypto due to its increasing value and I don’t to spend it while it’s giving me passive profit. I just claiming bonus now or anything that is free to still enjoy gambling without risking my money.

What is the instances that makes you take a break in gambling?

Though I'm not a gambler but I've been around people that gambles and I can tell that it's really difficult for them to take a break because they feel that they may miss their chances of winning if they go on a break. The only people that can be able to take a break or rather quit gambling is people that are new into it and tried their luck in other to win but the winning didn't come as expected as they can easily lose interest and decides to give it some time before they try again.
626  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Does Bitcoin need advertisment? on: February 11, 2024, 06:41:13 AM
Already the news of Bitcoin have been lingering for a very long time now just that a lot of people were doubtful and they termed it as some kind of scam projects that wouldn't stand for a long time like not many few individuals saw Bitcoin going this far so Bitcoin doesn't really need to be publicized all the time, in this modern world that everyone is switching to a digitized system that would make life easy and Bitcoin have proven to be the way out of our financial problems so as day goes by that's how people are being curious to know more about Bitcoin therefore it doesn't needs to be advertised before it can gain more recognition and acceptance.
627  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: February 10, 2024, 05:35:11 PM
You are right because the real reasons why Bitcoin was invented isn't only to stand as an investment strategy but rather to stand as a decentralized medium of performing transactions from person to person (p2p)[/b] directly without involvement of a centralized authority and also to replace the use of fiat so by accumulating bitcoin in other to make profits in the future, we are also acquiring it to stand as a medium of exchange from one person to another.
Please note I am fully aware of the importance of Bitcoin aside from a store of value, though it is used as a P2P transaction or it is also used as medium of exchange. But the fact still remain that Bitcoin holding is very important and should not be underestimated. You can use bitcoin for transaction either P2P or as a medium of exchange of buying and selling. but what more important does it provide again all usage? It is definitely a good store of value. Your monetary with in life is measured by the amount of valuable volatile assets you have which could be you stepping stone in old age. I think when you are talking about bitcoin you should remove you mind in the primary aspect, which is the use for exchange in form of fiat. But think of how important it will be while HODLing for a long time.

How would you feel when you are in your retirement age and your long term bitcoin holding now becomes your redeamer? Because that is exactly what it will be. by then you will no longer think of holding rather using it gradually.

You didn't get my points, talking about p2p isn't about exchanging Bitcoin with fiat but rather as a means of performing transactions with one another, okay after you must have accumulated as many bitcoin as you can will you just leave it their for decoration or remembrance? Not actually as you would also want to use part of it to afford some things you needed in life and you can buy from people that uses Bitcoin as a medium of payment as well that's my point so don't misinterpret what I'm saying when I talk about p2p because I'm actually referring to a decentralized system of dealing directly with whom ever I want to do transactions with rather than using centralized medium like the banks and other third party methods.

We are accumulating bitcoin for the future in other for it to stand as medium of exchange of goods and services and also to replace the use of fiat since it is a digital currency so it's only when we have acquired alot in our portfolios that we can make it's adoption become a reality so let's keep accumulating because that's exactly the stage we are in for now.
628  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who among you here is gambling at work? on: February 10, 2024, 05:19:33 PM
I'd like to share my experience with you all. Even though I'm not currently employed, I went through a phase of gambling while I was working in the past, and the outcome wasn't positive. It affected my job performance because, as you may know, when you lose, you tend to dwell on your losses and constantly think about strategies to win. When we talk about work, it usually means we're not particularly wealthy, and imagine what happens when we gamble money we can't afford to lose, especially when we're not earning much.

Gambling during working hours isn't that insanity? Because your attention would be divided between your job and the gambling you are playing as it will make you not to concentrate in your work place. No matter the passion you have for gambling never gamble at your workplace as anything that would put your job at a stake should be avoided because that's where you earn your major income from so you shouldn't joke with it all.
629  Other / Off-topic / Re: The health benefits of Alcohol, Beers, Whisky and Red wines. on: February 10, 2024, 04:50:16 PM
Taking alcohol is good but on a moderate level and should be done occasionally not as a habit and the quantity being consumed shouldn't be that much as it also threatens some health problems like high BP,  the immune system becoming too weak as a result of constant consumption, causes cardiovascular diseases and can also affect ones vision so if it most be consumed it should be in lower quantity
630  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best time to buy BTC NOW? on: February 10, 2024, 04:23:56 PM
Yeah, It's a silent time to hold Bitcoin. Now Bitcoin Price is upfront. I hope this season its price will go up by 1 million dollars. It will be beneficial for Bitcoin-loving people. Also, it will be a great chance to buy Bitcoin for new investors. Alts coin also bumping but Bitcoin is safe for investment. Today the price of Bitcoin is $47,200. It's not a poor value but upfront from this value. So, I can say today is the best time for investing in Bitcoin.

Sure the price have been experiencing huge growth for about a couple of days now but speculating the price to reach 1 million dollars this season is laughable as we should only speculate a price that can be achievable rather than making out of eagerness or curiosity.
Some persons will feel it's too late to buy considering the high price now but one should start from somewhere and accumulate some BTC before the halving as it is almost near.
631  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: If Bitcoin was not eligible to give ROI would you still want to own any Bitcoin on: February 10, 2024, 04:16:42 PM
Honestly from the view of things, We can tell that majority of people who are currently into Bitcoin are mostly their for the benefit and purpose of growing their investment portfolio over time.

So where you expecting people that are into Bitcoin to lose, normally every ones intention of owning an investment is for profits and to grow ones wealth as well even though we lose as well sometimes. Majority of people who are rushing to invest in Bitcoin are doing so as a result of the fact that they know that it's value would increase in time coming that is why they are sure they would make some good profits at the end of their investments.
632  Other / Off-topic / Re: The use of mobile phones and a computer for forum discussions. on: February 09, 2024, 09:08:45 PM
If you can afford both phone and laptop is okay so that if you are not in your home you can make use of your phone to log in to the forum then you can use your laptop while at home. Using the laptop more oftenly is preferable because the LCD screen is less hash to the eyes whereas when using phones the light from the screen can really affect one's sight and vision though to me using the phone is more preferable as not every one can handle the keyboard of a computer very fast as compared when handling with mobile devices.
633  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Waste of resources at parents disrupting their children dreams for self interest on: February 09, 2024, 07:48:48 PM
A girl I know who is just 18 years old has an inborn skills of fashion and designing such as Hairstylist and the Dressmaking. This has been her dreams to make it a reality but her parents are ignorantly trying to stop her from achieving this dream instead they wants her to go to the university and acquires degree.

Is really so bad how some parents tries to detect or hinder their children from doing what they know best to do. Going to the university to acquire a degree is very important but it is also advisable to learn a skill before gaining admission in the university as sometimes our skills also helps us at some point when we are financially down and also to be independent while in the university as not in every cases that you would require to call your parents to ask them of money because you would be using your skills to earn some money over there.
634  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / The need to acquire an asset now on: February 09, 2024, 07:20:03 PM
Many people wishes to get an asset when they start making it in life but as soon as such opportunity comes up they begin to live frivolous lifestyle and saying that they are still young as they can still meet up their target anytime without knowing that time flies and an opportunity that one may miss in life can take longer time to get again.

It is very good for us to know that the clock is ticking and as it's ticking that's how we are ageing as well, we should make judicious use of any opportunity we have to acquire an asset that would stand for a long time and even help us achieve our dreams, don't feel that you are too young for anything as we are in a digitized world now as everything is going digital that how things are changing so we may not really achieve things on a platter of Gold as you previously did, so it is important we plan now that we are sound and healthy and have no much responsibility yet rather than waiting at a time that every thing would become compounded such that we may not even have time for ourselves anymore.

The time is now to start thinking about the future and stop living extravagant lifestyles trying to impress people who wouldn't even know how you are doing when you peradventurely fall.
635  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: February 09, 2024, 05:45:43 PM
Get the context. The point is not about being the best investment because of price movement or ROI, the point is being the best investment in a particular sector because the HODLer is assured that the investment will continue to exist for decades.

I understand your thought and what you really mean, but I was just trying to be specific on the importance of Bitcoin over the other forms of investment. You know each time I hear people speak of Bitcoin, it sparks up my minds and want to talk and emphasis on it, for people to know the importance of Bitcoin. because I just feel like any discussion without Bitcoin is like I am not adding something to my Brian or not reminding my self of what I have chose over other investment. Not that I don't know that you just listed the other forms of investment but I was just trying to still let you know how important Bitcoin  investment is still important than the other investment.

If you truly want to emphasize the real importance of Bitcoin, then you should avoid talking about it "as an investment " or something that's a possible source of enrichment. Research, read, learn, and feed your brain more about the technical details about Bitcoin. From that, I'm very confident that you will truly learn why it's the break-through/revolutionary leap of the century for distributed systems.

Satoshi Nakamoto should win a Noble Prize for Economics and a Turing Award for inventing Bitcoin.

You are right because the real reasons why Bitcoin was invented isn't only to stand as an investment strategy but rather to stand as a decentralized medium of performing transactions from person to person (p2p) directly without involvement of a centralized authority and also to replace the use of fiat so by accumulating bitcoin in other to make profits in the future, we are also acquiring it to stand as a medium of exchange from one person to another.

Most people always think that bitcoin investment is all about hodling a certain amount of Bitcoins and when the price skyrockets they sell and wait for a dip in other for them to acquire again but Bitcoin investment isn't just an avenue to enrich oneself based on the profits that is intended to get from it but rather to also buy and hodl it and accumulate as many as we can afford so that when it's adoption is finally met we can have enough to use for transactions but a situation whereby we keep buying and selling Bitcoin then it doesn't really make much sense because the value might reduce since people are taking it as a medium of trading rather than investment.

It's obvious that Satoshi Nakamoto deserves more than a noble prize for this modern day digital technology that he/they have put in place in other to proffer solutions to human monetary challenges, even since it's invention some people and countries have been making wave for it's adoption little by little but I believe in due time it would be made official as our digital asset and currency which we all are anticipating for.
636  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Am I actually doing it right? on: February 09, 2024, 10:30:36 AM
Just keep being positive in the forum, avoid breaking any rules and spend most of your time learning from experienced an knowledgeable users here, so far as you make quality posts no matter how long it takes it is going to be Merited one day what matters most is your ability to be active in the forum rather than looking for and easy way to rank up. Ranking up isn't an issue but what contributions are you making towards the betterment of the forum? so make good and quality posts also be informative like relate information you know can be of help to the forum besides we'll are newbies and since we are new to this platform we ought to learn more than we make replies as with time we will get used to the forum and of which achieve our various ranks accordingly.

Never send a PM to any high rank members here as doing so might lead you to making some mistakes that might cause you your account being damaged because not every high rank member would take it lightly as soon can even give you negative trust or neutral tag so if you wish to stay longer in the forum, never think of sending a PM about merits to anyone.
637  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be the Person [poster] You Should Be on: February 08, 2024, 10:31:25 PM
Utilize the search feature on each board to make it easier for us to find what we want. All of us here, from the OP to anyone reading this, want to be good posters with good skills without ignoring things that have a bad impact on us.
I've found many cases of new users like the ones I mean since I've been active. Those of us here have probably discovered it ourselves.
Hopefully it won't happen to us again. Of course, this is not advice or a lecture like in church.

Actually, advising newbies to make use of search features isn't bad but is it all that are aware of how the search option works and it isn't every information they need that can be gotten from searching but rather members of the forum can also offer some help to them I believe that's why this session was made available so that beginners can get any form of help they need here even though the rules, regulations and threads about what they seek to know are already available but it's good to help them whenever they need help rather than scode them because if we don't guide them on how to go then we are not planning to grow here because we grow by lifting others and guilding them till they are conversant and able to also teach other people so don't be tired of assisting newbies here no matter how many times you've answered their questions over and over again.

Before someone can become a good poster, it requires being a good reader and able to understand what a topic being created is all about and giving good ideas and opinion to people who are also willing and ready to learn from you as well.
638  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why Herbalists Live Longer than Christains on: February 08, 2024, 10:16:32 PM
I don't believe that herbalists live longer than Christians as long life is divine and by grace regardless of if you are following up natural phenomenon or not, though herbalists tends to follow natural way of life by eating much of natural foods and drinks rather than processed foods but I don't think is enough to say they live longer than Christians because Christians as well believes in the capacity and use of herbs too and both those that depend on herbs and those that doesn't depend on herbs tends to also live longer so I totally don't believe that impression that herbalists live longer than Christians.
639  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you spend a lot of time on screen? on: February 08, 2024, 09:58:00 PM
In this world and age, financial freedom comes with a price of diligence and hardwork.

Many neglect their health because they are busy especially on screen doing their best to reach the top of their game.

Working full time on screens can lead to eye strain, poor posture, digital fatigue, and sleep disruption.

Manage it by taking regular breaks, adjusting ergonomics, using blue light filters, staying active, setting boundaries, practicing mindfulness, and staying hydrated. Balancing screen time with self-care is crucial for overall well-being.

We are in a modern world now and technology seems to have taken over as most people around the world stay glued to either their mobile phones and computers and other medium of accessing the Internet in other to gain information that would be helpful to mankind and since we are in a modern world now everything is going digital as we no longer have to be physical with everything we need as some things can just be done on the Internet without stress.

Statistics has shown that lots of people all over the world spent most of their time staying active with their phones and computers and this habit seems to be endangering our vision because the ray of light from our systems and computers tend to flash directly on our eyes thereby affecting the optical len but since we cant stop the habit of always looking at our devices all the time, it is advisable to either use glasses whenever we are staying for so long on the internet or rather go for an eye check from time to time to check our visibility and also if our lenses have been affected.
640  Other / Off-topic / Re: Money vs Education on: February 08, 2024, 09:48:27 PM
If you ain't educated how will you be able to make money? Like what kind of business would you venture in that wouldn't involve you having conversations with your customers, education is very vital in the life of every individual and as life goes on we keep learning new things every day so if someone doesn't attain education it would be difficult to communicate with other people on ways you can make money or things you would be involved in other to make money.

Money is good though but it is important to have knowledge before making that money otherwise you may not be able to use that money very well but when you are educated it makes you to be open on ideas and things that will enable you to make more money.
