No fork.. You don't need a blockchain to mine in a pool, because the pool uses the blockchain from it's daemon..

Ok.. I can't resolve whatever is going on with my miners right now, so I'm pulling my miners off the pool..

Don't get freaked out by the huge amount of dead shares, that was all me.. 

Ok, Not sure what is going on.. My miners shares are getting rejected, regardless of which rig is up..

Looks like I'm the only one with a problem though.. Got an idea of what might be happening, but I'll have to check it out..

Think the weirdness was on my end.. Restarted miner.. Started frirst coffee of the day..

When I'm in work mode I'll send screenshots of the site, and you can unleash those creative energies.

No.. It is possible to ask lynos if he can make some custom graphics for the site, and we have.

And I hate to say it, but with all the messing around with p2pools the website is behind schedule. I'm feeling frazzled and am going to get some downtime..

But if it means lyno's work is featured on the site, thats not a bad thing.. I definately think it would give it some "wow" factor..

Just had the difficulty drop.. hashrate has dropped to normal 

I noticed the network settled down to a nice hashrate for our smaller miners, but I suspect that the huge surge in hashrate we've experienced was caused by big miners grabbing some SXC to stash away, and it left the network lagging a little..

We decided to point some extra hashpower at the pool so the small miners aren't left slogging through "hard" blocks and get a cut of every block. The difficulty should change at block 83040, and we'll start pulling hashpower off the pool as difficulty decreases so smaller miners make more..

There will be random "Testing Bonuses" to miners on the pool of 69 SXC. To qualify a miner simply has to have a hashrate on the pool at the time of the bonus.

The p2pool is working well so far, as lavajumper has mentioned we are leaving it up for a few days to make sure the server is still stable before we officially announce it as a pool.. The payouts are perfect, and the PPLNS window is as small as we could make it and has a nice response to changes in hashpower..

The hashrate has gone down, but the difficulty is reasonably high, so once it adjusts mining should be pretty good.. If the hashrate doesn't climb again.. Personally I'm hoping it will drop to those super easy to mine levels, but of course it might not make it..
 

Sigh.... Nope .. The network hashrate is still going up..

But we still have our intrepid miners in the new pool..

Difficulty has gone up and we are sitting on 10.8 M/H.. just because of a pool.. I'm hopeing it will go back down to two, but if it goes back down I think it will bottom out at six... I'm just really happy the guy with 1/kh is getting his cut, but we can't say the server is stable until we actually run it for a few days.. Lava would be really happy, if he wasn't finally getting some sleep...

And We're getting to know our miners by the SXC addresses, and that ain't a bad thing either..

Okay.. Just pulled hashpower off of the pool to see how the payouts react... and we jumped another 1MH on the network while I was doing it.. I'll let you know in three hours how it goes... BTW that extra hashpower looks like bigger solo miners.. must be a few getting in while the going is good...

She's reached full payout in 2h 52 min.. I'll wait the full three hours before calling it though, and retest again.. maybe I should be PM ing this, but I'm excited that it's going so perfectly... If the server stays up and stable over the next few days, we have a winner...

The hashrate has also jumped again.. I think the days of "easy" coins might be fading fast...

Oh and BTW, the P2pool repo is empty but we have considered putting together a "Windows SXC P2pool Pack" with all the software and a step by step newbie guide to setting up a pool, but it's not the highest priority at the moment..

The compiled clients are for unbuntu 13.0.4, 32 and 64 bit..  (edit : and windows of course)
There are dependencies as well, in the clients repo..
check the first post of this thread for help, and the location of openSUSE rpm's if you are are old school, and using feadora..

Although this isn't my department, Max and Lava are the client experts so I gotta say...

If you are compiling in Windows, I can't help you...

Yes the pool went down ..

Ironically the test pool was on a windows box, on a VPN and working like a charm.. right down to it's PPLNS window..

The "pool" open to the public (though not really) on a linux box was giving us concerns with payouts .. especially to small miners...

Our solution was to set up a copy of the "test" server on a dedicated windows box... And props to lavajumper for going beyond the call of duty and enduring another night with little sleep to get it done..

We are only a few minutes in, and we can't emphatically say that the server is up to scratch, but already it is mimicking the test server.. although it's not using the "fancy" frontend, the stats are showing the same behaviour as the "test" server.. the next three hours will be crucial and by then we we will know that miners are being paid right..

Don't forget this is a new pool, and there could be issues.. At the moment things are looking very good..
