Is the SR escrow system considered hoarding?

George, If I was to vac seal a tray and freeze it, would it be edible after I thawed it out? how long does it last in the fridge if i vac seal it?

Since it has a low moisture content, it freezes very well. I would say it even gets more tender and delicious after it's been frozen. It's very edible. If you vac seal it, it would probably last 5 years in the freezer. In the fridge and vac sealed, probably something like two months before I would start to suspect that it's going bad.

Though I don't know how it's gonna last that long in your household. I once ate a whole pan by myself in about a week. It's addicting.
623  Other / Beginners & Help / Is the ASIC just a clever scheme? on: August 01, 2012, 04:56:21 AM
It would be pretty easy to get people's funds and hopes tied up in this ASIC. Keeps them from investing in their current product or GPU-based rigs based on the fear of it's imminent release. Make inflated claims of gigahashes, get everyone hooked and jonesing for one.

I think the reality is that they needed the money to make a giant production run of their FPGA based stuff so their cost would be very low for themselves. They, of course, are going to use them to mine their own coins. If you think about it, it would have been much more smarter and profitable for them to keep their currently shipping products a secret and let the dough roll in. But they didn't have the cash to do it. Deliver a few of the current units to people who purchased them to seem like you might actually deliver this new thing.

Keep people in a holding pattern for a year or so awaiting this vaporware product, then just refund them and dissolve the corporation. Meanwhile, you had the most powerful mining rig on the planet. Then you retire...

Optical disks are still not good for random-access stuff. Good for transferring files and archiving them, that's about it. Booting off them and treating them like a writable operating system drive is worse than using floppies.

Maybe it's where all the Bitcoin transaction fees end up.
626  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The day after ASIC hits, what to do with the hardware? on: August 01, 2012, 12:44:47 AM
I think it's safe to say they'll miss their target release date. Happens with this sort of custom stuff, bugs in the finished product...stuff like that. Wouldn't surprise me if it didn't come out till early 2013. Don't start worrying yet. Meanwhile, mine as much as you can...

Hello!

I've been lurking for about a year or so here off and on. Heard my friend Mandrik talking about the cool stuff that goes on here, so finally decided to join.
