621  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Risking 1% in Gambling on: December 02, 2023, 05:05:33 PM
Do you guys also follow a similar strategy like gambling with 1% or 2% on each game? This way not only we are safe from losing big amounts but at the same time, we never find ourselves in a situation where we go all in, in some bet and then have the fear of losing all of our money.

The first is to only use no more than 1% of monthly income, then continue by only playing 1% on each hand? This only applies if you have a large monthly income, what if people only earn no more than $1000 per month?

The calculation will be like this: $1000 X 0,01 = $10 | $10 ÷ 100 = $0,1

From the calculations above, where can I get at least some entertainment? it would be a boring game and a waste of time, it's better to do something else than have to apply that strategy Cheesy.

I usually read this kind of rule base on bankroll and not in monthly income. And actually 1% is too low if don't have a decent amount of bankroll, and you are right, we will be missing the entertainment here if we are gambling with an amount that we don't feel the thrill anymore.

$1000 is a good example as $10 (1% of it) is just too small to budget for one month in gambling, I wonder how are we gonna even pay the transaction fee of sending that money to crypto casinos, fee alone could already deduct like maybe 20% of that $10, so it doesn't make sense to me.

1% of monthly income for betting purposes is only applicable if you are making like $100,000 or more per month as $1,000 should be a reasonable budget.
622  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: December 02, 2023, 03:43:53 PM
but you forgot mentioning my all time favorite,  big game James is also with them and finally he played some minutes and made some 3's, I miss him a lot hopefully he will start playing back before the season ends. 😉

Missing him too; he was one of the stars I followed, especially during his time with Magnolia Hotshots before he was traded for Paul Lee. James Yap is already a veteran, and I'm glad he's still playing, even if the team doesn't fully utilize him. But, forget about that, what matters now is they had a big win, and perhaps this could be a turning point for them. Maybe they'll start winning consistently from here on?
623  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should trading be for the rich? on: December 02, 2023, 01:52:50 PM
Should trading be exclusive to financially comfortable and rich because of how risky it is?
Maybe we can say, "Trading is not for everyone".
I know the feeling of difficult when you want to start trading but you don't have any extra funds or have financial difficult.
But for me, it will not be an excuse if you are really willing to trade and start, the demo account is correct, next you can find some money by working some gigs in internet, so you can use the fund you earned to start trading.
If you really want to start trading, even a small capital will do. But never expect that the process will be all smooth as you will surely encounter lots of trading errors and losses at first before you can reap the sweetest profits. While trading is free for everyone, but not everyone is capable to trade successfully. Lucky are those who can easily provide a good amount of capital, and still not getting financial difficulties despite of the inevitable losses.

However, I bet to disagree that trading is for rich only. Its not and it will never be, otherwise poor traders might not be given good opportunities to trade and change their lives not just for the better but for the best.
624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should altcoins be blamed? on: December 02, 2023, 01:17:17 PM
People hate bitcoin or crypto in general not because they have suffered losses from altcoins, but because these people have no proper education about bitcoin and the crypto market. And I don't think the altcoins are to be blamed, but it should be the developers of altcoins because they're out to deceive those innocent people who's only aim is to experience high profitability. Although these people are also at fault because they hurriedly invest without doing thorough research and study.

DYOR is the key. There is no reason that we should spread hate to bitcoin or altcoins. But always chose to educate oneself so that future losses will be avoided or at least prevented.
625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Ryan Garcia vs Oscar Duarte (December 2) on: December 02, 2023, 10:01:00 AM

I was surprised that the bookmakers put Duarte at 4:1 underdog against Ryan. For sure they know something after the weight-in. So obviously, this is a cherry pick for Ryan just to be comfortable at 140 lbs. But still very interesting how Ryan chin will react. As I think that Duarte will go head hunting from the very first round to really put pressure on Ryan and test if he is ready from those power bombs.

That odds hasn't change from the start I guess. Well, personally I'm not surprise with the odds as Ryan Garcia is still considered as a superstar in boxing while Duarte hasn't created a name yet in boxing, maybe after he'll beat Garcia, but that would be a tough job for him, but let's see.

It's a great challenge for Garcia, proving to the fans that he's back and he is still mentally healthy after losing a big fight, so just like most of us here, I'm excited to withness this fight and I'm rooting for King Ry to win via KO.
626  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 02, 2023, 09:43:08 AM
Oklahoma City Thunder performed really well. In the second quarter, they performed better than anyone expected. I never thought that they were going to make such a big difference in one quarter that it will be really hard for their opponent to overcome. But that happened. They performed so well in the second quarter that it was almost impossible for the Lakers to make a comeback. But it was a good performance from Oklahoma, and they deserve credit for that.
Sometimes I wonder to myself how much OKC is surprising this season. I confess that because it is a reformulated team and with a large number of young players, they have shown a significant improvement and are consequently a strong candidate for the playoffs.
Let's see how OKC will perform throughout the regular season!

They are on a mission this season, they failed on the last season but they have a good chance of making it to the playoffs as they are a more improve team with Chet playing his first regular season with the NBA. Looking at the production of Chet, we can easily say that he's been one of the biggest reason why OKC has become a very consistent now, and with SGA's consistent contribution as well, it's almost certain they'll make it, the question now is how far they can go once already in the playoffs.
627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What lies ahead for Bitcoin in the coming days? on: December 01, 2023, 09:34:00 PM
Currently, bitcoin is very bullish and if the market will be filled more with positive news and updates in the next days, then we can expect for bitcoin to skyrocket which mostly happens before the end of the year. So I guess the market will be very positive and bitcoin hodlers will benefit a lot most especially that we are now entering the merriest month of the year.

However, bitcoin can also give us the twist we never expect, that's how uncertain bitcoin is. The reason why we should always be updated with the market no matter how promising it is as it can turn into a roller coaster ride in just a blink of an eye.
628  Economy / Economics / Re: New business idea. on: December 01, 2023, 08:27:15 PM
I would have posted this thread on my local board (Nigerian local board) but I didn't because both Nigerians and other countries can still benefit from this little business idea.
The kind of business I want to share is what is called graundnut oil making. This business idea can help someone that doesn't even have a skill and someone that is not even educated, all the person just needs to have is the money to buy the manufacturing equipment that's all.
With this graundnut oil making business, one can get the kind of life he/she wanted because the demands in this graundnut oil making business are a bit high. One can even start with a little money. However, this business is also an investment. If one can dedicate more time to it, he/she can benefit from it (can make it a company).

this information shows how the demands of the graundnut oil is in my country today is.
You can also watch a little on how to manufacture the graundnut oil, I can even invest more if I have this business and start making more money, so what are your takes in this idea?
Your idea is great and I am no against with it. But that kind of investment only appears highly profitable to those countries who have bigger demands on groundnut oil, and I can see that in my country, that kind of investment may seem ordinary and there are already a lot of small scale investors who are into that, so I think that won't give me the profits I am looking for.

However, for some countries, that might seem profitable to invest. My suggestion is, once you have made significant profits from that investment, then try to start another investment that seems guaranteed and profitable. When you have multiple source of profits, you will not worry anymore if one of your investments will lose its trend or simply it's time is already over.
629  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 01, 2023, 05:40:00 AM
Warriors finally had a good win at home by beating the Clippers.

No GP3, Wiggins and CP3 and yet they were still able to beat a complete squad of the LA Clippers.

Warriors showed some impressive ball movement, the "Curry carrying the team" is not present in this game as everyone has contributed for this big win.
7 players are in double digit, seems like I haven't see this kind of stats for awhile.

Congratulations!
630  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Using AI for betting predictions on: December 01, 2023, 04:59:31 AM
Should AI be relied on for sport betting predictions?

Not at all, and it's not a good idea IMO. AI is smart, but AI isn't a god who knows for sure what will happen in the future. Previously you said that out of 10 matches, the predicted results generated by AI can produce at least 3 correct results. I'm sure if you choose it randomly you can get the correct results even in more than 5 matches. This means you can be smarter or we could say luckier than AI itself Cheesy.

AI will ba ban if it could predict the outcome of the game, actually, we are just getting mislead by this kind of information. Yes, AI could provide stats but sports betting is not all about stats, there's lots of factors to consider that AI could not provide, so we should be aware of that.

We can use AI to ease our job, but relying solely on AI would surely result to an easy lose of money, and it's not fun.
631  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: December 01, 2023, 04:13:03 AM
So what will happen on their game tonight. NLEX will be playing against Magnolia which is currently the number 1 in ranking, so they'll playing without an import, or they have already found a replacement?

Judging on lines currently availble, they are +8.5, so it could mean that they have no import, or even if they have an import, I think there will be a chemistry problem and it's hard to win against a Magnolia team which has been very dominant so far.

I think I'm gonna be betting on Magnolia -8.5 here before this line will move.
632  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do we need to have a stop loss if we are 100% positive about a trade? on: November 30, 2023, 09:54:49 PM
It depends on the actual mindset of a trader. If he has reliable experiences in trading that makes him confident to trade and expect positive outcome, then using stop loss might be useless. Even myself if I have obtained the best strategies in trading that work for me for a long time, then I will never resort using this stop loss. It's always challenging if you know for yourself that you are trading for success, and not that you end up trading using stop loss because you have fears from losing.

While this is true for majority of the traders, but I still believe that some traders are still dependent from using stop loss. And if it works for them, then I have no issues with that.
633  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not a quick rich and get poorer investment. on: November 30, 2023, 08:37:44 PM
Bitcoin investment is an investment you start early and take time to grow, discipline, monitor with patient to enable your target of investment excel and you can only make this investment when you patiently elongate it to enable you flourish well to the extend that when you harvest your profit from the investment it will still be progressing and not when you invest in six months time and you are inquisitive to get your profit in eight months time its wrong and getting patient to achieve what you invest is a good helping hands for future and at least when you invest in six months time you get your profit in one or two years or more for your effort to be reasonable and bear in mind that Bitcoin is not altcoin that can be hype or where many altcoins are built based on the basic structure provided by Bitcoin, Bitcoin cannot not make you poor when you know what you are doing and is more valuable and can make you rich when you wisely trade in futures.
Bitcoin is a long term investment. It's never a get quick rich nor a get poorer investment, but bitcoin will eventually make you poorer if you have no idea how bitcoin investment works. If you invest because of greed, because people are rushing to own bitcoin, then obviously your investment will not gonna work.

One thing is certain, bitcoin investment needs it's growth and development. And it does not happen all of a sudden, you need to work on it to see it's progress. You need to safeguard your bitcoin for its security. If you can do that, you will have high chances to become rich while seeing your bitcoin investments growing.
634  Local / Pilipinas / Nakakabahalang balita mga kabayan. on: November 30, 2023, 06:42:40 AM

Cry Cry

MANILA, Philippines – The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is moving to block embattled crypto trading platform Binance from being accessed in the Philippines to safeguard the public from unregistered investment products.

The commission noted that Binance, the world’s largest crypto trading platform, is not authorized to sell or offer securities to the public in the Philippines, pursuant to Republic Act No. 8799 or the Securities Regulation Code.

The SEC has requested assistance from other government agencies, namely the National Telecommunications Commission and the Department of Information and Communications Technology, to block access to Binance in the country.

The SEC said the removal of access is expected to take effect within three months after the issuance of the advisory to give Filipino investors time to close their positions and take out their investments.

635  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Who says you can't be a millionaire in sports betting? on: November 30, 2023, 06:30:15 AM
I read some mix reactions here, most of the commentors are pretty much concern about the risk of what the gambler did since x1000 odds is quite high that is really hard to win. I understand, we are here to gamble but at the same time has to be responsible.

But let me tell you about what I shared, I'm not saying everyone can win, I'm saying everyone has a chance to win and it's proven that even at $18 you can turn that amount to $18k only if you are lucky.

Some even are speculating that this person have more losses before he hit this big win, and some thought this win will not gonna last long as the gambler will just gamble it and will eventually return the winning to the gambling site.

I think the spirit of gambling is having fun, when someone is too happy he hates a jackpot, they would love to hear some words like "congratulations" or in Filipino "sana all"... it seems like there are lots of gamblers here also who are "marites" who are not too happy with the success of others, just check the meaning in Filipino slang dictionary. 636  Economy / Exchanges / Goodbye Philippines for Binance. on: November 30, 2023, 06:04:49 AM
With this news just came out today, it says that Binance will be saying good bye to the Philippine traders and investors since SEC issued this ;

Quote
The removal of access in the Philippines, the SEC said in a statement, will take effect within three months of the issuance of its advisory on Nov. 28 to give Filipino users time to pull out investments from the crypto exchange.

We have 3 months to pull out our assets so it won't be lose forever as this exchange will become inaccessible when the time lapse.

This would have a big impact on the Philippine crypto traders as this exchange is currently the most popular exchange among traders, and personally, I love their p2p feature where I could easily sell my bitcoin and expect payment from local digital currency.

637  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I am a Bitcoin novice, somebody help. on: November 29, 2023, 09:58:42 PM
I am new in this forum. My friends always talk about this forum and Bitcoin. I want to know about Bitcoin and how to benefit from it.
With the way people talk about Bitcoin, it shows that Bitcoin will turn to a major project in the future. I just want to have a place now. Even if I am late, I know in few years time, I will be earlier than many people.

Please I need help on how to learn Bitcoin and grow here. Thanks.
There's no late entering in the forum as long as you have the innermost desire to learn and apply them later on when you decide to trade or invest. My advice is to see this forum as more like a home or community that you can share and learn everything you wish for, and not a school that turns into a boring place later on. You just have to feel more at ease and just enjoy the forum. That means, you don't have to be too obsessive on the forum, but just take your time learning from the experiences of the old and reputable members.

However, I want to clear it to you that this forum does not guarantee your life's success later on. Its within your own concepts and motivation, and within your performance that will make your future bright and secured. And with the help of the forum, if you put everything in action all the things you have learned inside the forum, then you will gain higher rate of success in the future if you exercise them properly and with caution.
638  Other / Archival / Re: Wearing Bitcoin Clothing in Public on: November 29, 2023, 08:59:05 PM
I guess this is really a bad idea in the sense that you are making yourself transparent to all those who have negative assumptions on bitcoin. And not only that, you are making yourself vulnerable to any bitcoin scams that will put yourself in danger. While this can be a mere publication for bitcoin that it really is  legit and existing, but we don't know how majority of the people would react on it. Some may think that you are not abiding with the government laws, while some are seeing opportunities in you to get you involved in a scam and steal all your bitcoin in your wallet.

So there's a lot of possibilities that wearing bitcoin t-shirt might trigger. And I don't want to be part on it literally, so wearing bitcoin logo for me is really a bad idea and that never really comes in my mind exposing myself that I'm into bitcoin.
639  Economy / Gambling discussion / Who says you can't be a millionaire in sports betting? on: November 29, 2023, 06:17:31 AM
I just saw this betslip shared by someone on social media and he was bragging that he turn his builder bet to Php 1 million pesos or equivalent to over $18k.

The bet is only Php 1k or ($18)... see the bet slip below. (check the outcome to see the winning).... Smiley

ccto

So you see, those who are preaching that you can't win in gambling, this is for you!

You don't win if you don't try, this gambler for sure kept trying on playing "bet builder", probably even on "parlay", and finally one day he made himself a millionaire. This is a significant success already as not everyone can win a huge amount in gambling, considering the bet was only less than $20.

What can you say about this? Are you willing to risk your $18 to win $18k, or a million in PHP pesos?
640  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney (9th of December) on: November 28, 2023, 03:11:17 AM
But with Haney, it's all about that "W" – the entertainment factor is usually missing in action in most, if not all, of his fights.

LOL, yeah, it's a bit sad but true. He's got that Mayweather style in him. It would be a amazing to witness if someone could really give him a challenging fight. Fingers crossed that Prograis might be the one to shake things up. I'm betting Prograis and his team are cooking up some strategies to counter Haney's style and come out on top.

With the fight just a few weeks away, time's flying! I hope they've cranked up the marketing strat to make this showdown a success, both at the venue and on PPV so they'll enjoy that sweet revenue, right?
