621  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: same private key? on: September 03, 2020, 11:32:48 AM
Sorry for hijacking a bit, I know the Public key is associated with the private key so wherever I use the private key, I get the same public key.
Is there a specific way of defining the Public key from a private key?
As private key are longer (51-52) and public keys shorter, is there any chances that a different set of private key be associated with same public key.
Furthermore, if there's an association between public and private key, would it make easier to guess the private keys from the public key?
622  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: September 03, 2020, 10:19:28 AM
I think every cricket board is trying to copy this idea to gain something now. And the enthusiasm has mostly come after the grand success of the Bangladesh premier league because Bangladesh being such a small nation has been practically able to make it a great success this is why Sri Lanka tried it too. But yes Sri Lanka has much lower fan following. I think a better idea for Sri Lanka could be to try and pitch Bangladeshi to merge their league with them and take profit sharing out of that league.

The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is more like a moderate success. Very few of the international superstars take part in BPL, and there were financial issues during the last edition. But to their credit, the BCB has managed to stage the tournament on a continuous basis since 2012. One thing to remember here is that the population of Bangladesh is almost 10 times that of Sri Lanka. That gives them a fairly big advantage. On top of that sizable Bangladeshi expat communities exist in nations such as UAE, Saudi Arabia, India, USA, UK.etc.

Localized and regional leagues are a great initiative. It would give established players much choices and new players much chances. Players move around the globe to play where they love and where they are loved. With every league having a minimum number of local players, the new players gets a chance to play with more experienced players from around the world. These leagues are not exactly a challenge to IPL but a platform that could bring new and talented players to IPL.
623  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you think about Gay community ? on: September 03, 2020, 06:23:37 AM
If the people feel themselves as, they should let be. Gay people should have a private life the way they want. It's against human rights to force people to suppress their emotions.
But these days there are many provocative advertisement from the gay people asking kids to turn gay, such things should be monitored. A minor should not be forced or lured at making sexual choices. Another issue here is of gay couple forcing there adopted kid to turn gay. I am in favor of good gay couple adopting a child but to insure the child's right, they should also be closely monitored by the authorities.
624  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: September 03, 2020, 05:24:50 AM
New champion in La Liga is not near in future because right now gape is too much between these two giants ~
Indeed. The gaps are very big. You are right, one of the reasons is about the investors or club resources. It is a bit hard for the other clubs to sign many top players as the two giants. Also, when other clubs have shining players, the two giants directly try to sign them. Finally, the players move to the two giants and it makes more gaps among them. The situation is the same as in Bundesliga, one or two clubs dominate the competition.

There's something different on la liga that is going to make a larger difference in the near future. Barcelona and Real Madrid always has been two best team on the league from the right start of the league. They have collectively won 60 league trophies of total 89 played. They are the richest clubs and can buy the best players for them. But what we've seen on last few years is Barcelona is disintegrating, they have trouble with the finances and they're being considered more a Catalonian team that a Spanish one. Many have and many are wanting to leave the team for those two reasons.
625  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin such a big risk? on: September 02, 2020, 09:39:31 AM
Many people I know formed a bias that cryptocurrencies are inherently risky and you shouldn't invest in them more than you can afford to lose.

I agree with the above statement in a certain extent, but I'd like to ask the community. Is it riskier to place your money in Bitcoin or hold them in a fiat savings account? What's your opinion?

So curious to see the response especially today when we live in times of crisis.

First of all risk is everywhere. BTC is as much risky as much fruitful. So you have to take risk if you want to gain big amount that you will not gain from flat currency. If you see the market last 4 months how BTC pump that can not come from flat investment so that people invest here for high dividends. On the other hand some people has huge money and they try here as a lucky chance so that if market fall they can wait because everybody knows that today or tomorrow crypto market will pump and that time we have to wait.

Correctly said. Risk are everywhere and investing in just one thing may bring a disaster. The proportion of your investment also depends on where you live (and what you do). It's been seen that most investment on crypto comes from economies that are volatile or the inflation are higher. The countries where there are direct economic uncertainties and where  the government can confiscate your money without any valid reasons. And even for a sound financial economy, crypto would act as an insurance as it's one of the most global value you can get your hands on. It's easier to hold, carry and move.
626  Economy / Economics / Re: Famine is coming next ... on: August 30, 2020, 03:14:13 PM
Not exactly famine but we are moving towards another economic depression. And to deviate people from it, many nations are trying to wage a war which may lead to another Great war or World war. It's already long overdue. If we go through it undivided, we can easily win over the post pandemic crisis but leaders prefer deviation of priority than actually solving the problem. That would either lead to toppling of government or a war.
627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Poll: when will cryptocurrency go mainstream? on: August 30, 2020, 01:05:56 PM

"Signifcantly" is not very high if based on the broader mainstream market. How much/what is the ratio of Bitcoin users compared to the mainstream market?

Plus is Linux OS mainstream? No, many people "of the mainstream" has heard of Linux, but Linux usage is targetted towards a small portion of the whole market.

The use of Linux OS is limited to a certain category of people, and they are the developers who need it, but bitcoin will be needed by everyone when merchants deal with it in their stores around the world. And I think the future of BTC is great, as it will be used as an everyday currency, or even used as a guarantee or an investment.

I and most of my co-staff on my office are using linux as our primary OS. Linux is much better than Windows 10 if you just try. The only reason most of the people were sticking with windows was Office suite but as most of your data processing has gone online, there's no use for Windows at all.
Most of the people use their PC only for internet and multimedia where Linux is superior to Windows.  Linux runs steam games better than Windows, the only thing I miss is Epic game launcher which also has a get around to run in Linux.
628  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance trading bots are garbage on: August 30, 2020, 09:42:54 AM
South Park, you are absolutely right. Learning trading is not some sort of rocket science. You just need to involve your brain cells and figure out how market is moving. But, you know, people like to take short cuts, whatever it costs.
Aren't they aware of the danger for taking the short cuts? I mean it's always dangerous to take the short cuts if you don't know where it will lead you. All I'm saying is to at least learn something first before taking that short cuts just like using that bots. It's not a plug-and-play that because you bought/use it—it doesn't mean you will basically going earn a profit already. There's a process of doing that and the more you learn about it the more it's easy for you to understand and to execute the bots on how your trading goes well.
Common mistake on where people do really believe on and the fact that people do continuing on believing such stuff even if it doesnt work that way. They are just too lazy to do the hard work thats why they do end up
into these presumptions which are totally wrong.

They do trying or force things to work but once reality slap out their faces then thats the time they do talk about negative about it like its a piece of trash or garbage without even realizing into those things
that had spit out into their mouths.

Bots are for automation but people do always have the wrong impression towards it.

Exactly. Bots are just tools not the means. You need to modify it according to your strategy and no strategy would work good in all the circumstances. You should predict the market for next week, next month or next year and modify your bot accordingly. Which way do you believe the prices are going to move and what currency are you going to have when the change in market arrives would define the nature of your bot. Bots are not garbage but you can make one.
629  Economy / Economics / Re: China is winning the Economy Wars on: August 30, 2020, 09:02:40 AM
Everyone wants a profit on their investment. I wouldn't call OBOR just a money trap as it's bringing world together and opening new economic relations, improving lives of people. China though has prospered in the single party rule, it's political system itself is a tickling bomb. Another negative expect of China is it's relation with it's neighbor, with it's intention to claim all the resources over South China sea, it would never be considered a friend of that region unless it comes into wide economic and political co-operation for that region. If China really needs to establish itself as an economic power and connect with the world, it needs to improve it's relation with Japan, South Korea and ASEAN nations and reach a deal on South China Sea.
630  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Missing the current DEFI pump on: August 30, 2020, 08:20:28 AM
As a person who missed both the bitcoin pump and altcoin pump, I didn't joined the Defi pump as I believed it won't last long. But not only  it rose for over a week, it's been holding for another week. Anyone who jumped in early do made a profit. So, the herd mentality do help in crypto market to some extent. It's better to check for trends to become a pioneer on the trend to not miss out any positive trend.
631  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: COCK FIGHTING: COVID-19 health protocols violators, caught on: August 30, 2020, 07:12:17 AM
With the ever increasing lockdown, people have no options left than to disobey, this self confinement is driving many people crazy and they want something to keep them occupied. Gambling is one of the thing people misses the most after maybe beer parties.
Cock fighting is getting popular in my home town as well. Here's a farm that breeds and trains fighter cocks and participates in different tournaments as well sell them. I good fighter cock costs more than $1K and they eat more than I do in a single day. It was amazing to see at first.
632  Economy / Economics / Re: Remote Working and Inequality on: August 29, 2020, 03:04:32 PM
Success of Amazon speaks the situation here. Many business can modify themselves to fit the new demand. Small restaurants can easily turn into food delivery so does many other business. The ones that gets hurt the most are large scale theaters, operas and party places. The pub culture too would get modified. People were anyway preferring their own devices than theaters and operas. Sports too would run but just on cameras. There are affected jobs but most of them are non-specialist non technical which can be easily shifted to others.
633  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 29, 2020, 09:54:56 AM

Yes,  we know that the two of them are rivals but they also respect each other.
Juve don't have problem with financial fair play and can afford Messi.
After all,  his marketing value is great and with him Juve is one step closer to their ultimate goal,  to finally win in CL.
Still,  in my opinion,  Manchester City is first choice for Messi.

It would be lovely to see these two football superstars playing from same side. Juventus would be a great team for messi to play and they can afford him too. PSG is certainly another great option. I think Manchester City is going to be a bad choice for messi if he went there, he might not be able to hold on to his fame and the spotlight he gets on La liga. And Manchester city is not still a balanced team.
634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: De-Fi apps are NOT 100% decentralized on: August 29, 2020, 08:42:53 AM
The decentralization is in the level of handling of coins and tokens. It's not due to the nature of the site or project but due to the nature of the blockchain they are involved with.
Decentralization in the sense every transaction and freezing happens on the blockchain. Whether or not the blockchain is decentralized is another question. Though Defi is a good way ahead, the current hype is actually making it a joke and may hamper its reputation on long run.
635  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: New information from Satoshi? on: August 29, 2020, 12:35:53 AM
The thing is more suspicious as after the Q&A of Dorian Nakamoto on reddit, satoshis P2P Foundation account posted its first message in five years, stating: "I am not Dorian Nakamoto."
It's been also rumored that it's the brother of Dorian called Yasutaka Nakamoto who actually lead the development of Bitcoin. Once an insider of Escobars cartel, he became an CIA informant and he was also a computer engineer. Nakamoto, Computer engineer, CIA, they do connect.
636  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: User friendly Token pocket or Math wallet??? on: August 28, 2020, 02:39:35 PM
For a user friendly option, there are Atomic wallet, Exodus, Trust wallet, Coinomi and many others. Choose what fits to you. Trust wallet do accept many of Ethereum tokens. But if you are focused on ethereum platform, myetherwallet team has made an impressive app for Ethereum and Tokens along with dapp browser for mobile. But if you are to seriously hold your coins, you should consider lite clients of the official wallets.
637  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trust USDT? on: August 28, 2020, 07:51:20 AM
As George Martin said with the mouth of Varys, the power "Power resides where men believe it resides".
Similar is the case with Tether, even though people know they have issues, almost all of the exchanges use it as the default stable coin and it's currently the most traded crypto ahead of bitcoin and ethereum. Their valuation is close to Ripple's total market cap and no one knows how and how far they would grow. Until people believe in it's price, it would hold it's price.
638  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Investing/trading Opportunities for stable returns? on: August 28, 2020, 06:57:03 AM
You can easily make over 12% a year on bitcoin or USD stable coin by doing some passive trade on your favorite exchange. There are some exchanges that do provide a similar return but it would be better to take things on your hand than on to trust something new and unknown. Swing trading or grid trading are easy way to earn stable coin against BTC or other crypto using the trading API of your exchange. There are several platforms through which you can automate them and most of them are free too.
639  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: VR online casino games take gambling to the new level 🚀 on: August 28, 2020, 05:18:52 AM
I've tried VR and they have a great potential. I wonder why are we still not able to push VR to every people's home. With the current pandemic situation, the importance of virtually being present is seen on every sectors. Many traditional gambling spots has gone online through video streaming. To enhance the experience, they can implement VR tech. But for it to be equally utilized, VR tech should be handy on every households.
640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: South Korean Exchange Coinbit Arrested For Fake Volume on: August 27, 2020, 02:53:08 AM
That's one good boost for crypto regulations. A unregulated industry doesn't mean you can do frauds and make up false claims. This would surely improve the quality of Korean exchanges making good way ahead for other competitors. Even the largest of crypto exchanges are accused of fake volume and as there are no entity to look over them, they get away with everything they want.
