621  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Errol Spence vs Keith Thurman on: February 26, 2023, 11:45:11 AM
They will have to fight to determine the winner, but we have our favorite fighter that we are rooting for. As for Spence, he is the favorite of this fight, so it's not surprising that most of the comments favor his advantage to win. However, we have to remember that before Thurman lost to Pacquiao, they were of the same status, or Thurman even had the upper hand.

People are eagerly anticipating the upcoming Spence vs Thurman fight, which is one of the biggest fights of the year even though it's not a title fight. Spence is always well-prepared and is capable of giving Thurman a tough fight, as he did against Ugas and Porter. We should expect an explosive fight and cheer on the fighter we believe will win.

As of Feb 2 which this article is dated, spence is highly favored with -900 odds. That's insane because it almost tells us that Thurman has no chance of winning.
622  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: February 26, 2023, 10:55:20 AM
Phoenix is the underdog, but I think they are capable of winning, as Converge even struggled against Blackwater, which is a bad team. Remember that Phoenix has lots of veterans who have been in this situation many times, so I like their maturity over the talent of Converge. Therefore, I'm taking Phoenix to win the game."

Congratulations, mate! That was a big win by Converge, with Encho Serrano leading the team to a huge victory. It was a thrilling game, but as usual, Converge's play was very predictable, as their import loves to shoot threes. I also won a little bet on this game, but it was enough to enjoy the night. By the way, the next game is going to be even more exciting. Hopefully, it's also a close game.
623  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: February 26, 2023, 09:06:33 AM

It will be tough for the champ because Inoue is not called a monster for nothing. He always unleashes his power in the ring, so Fulton needs to be fully aware of the possibilities that could happen to him if he becomes careless.

I hope he won't be too careful as it might affect his fighting style. If that happens, it will result in a boring fight since he may not be as aggressive as before, knowing that Inoue can KO him with one punch if he makes a mistake. Fulton has not faced a champion like Inoue yet, so he will certainly be surprised once they are in the ring.
624  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 26, 2023, 08:34:50 AM
Denver Nuggets lost in a blowout at Memphis. Looks like the long rest affected them and they cannot find their outside shots. 0/4 3-pts for KCP which is rare considering he is 45 percent on downtown shots.
Jamal Murray also not doing well with 3/13 FG.
Tillman defended Jokic pretty well which will stop the offensive plays of the Nuggets, good work for him stepping up his game while Adams is out.
No, this is their second game already after the All-Star break. Their first game was against the Cavaliers on the road, and they won that game.

Let us not overreact. Memphis is not a bad team, so it's no surprise that they won via a dominant performance. They can even dominate on the road, so how much more when they are at home. This team is good, but it's not as consistent as the Denver Nuggets, so let's give them credit for their performance in this game. They deserve it.
625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 25, 2023, 12:45:41 PM

I really believe that KD, Booker, Ayton, and CP3 can establish great chemistry. They are now the deadliest shooting team and are a real force to be reckoned with if they stay healthy. I am so excited to see these top teams playing against each other in the playoffs. And how the underdogs Sacramento Kings perform in the playoffs.

I hope so because they are already a big 4. KD is probably their best player, although Booker is the franchise player. However, if he knows how to play with KD like Curry did, winning a championship should be very easy. One crucial thing here is the health of Durant. Hopefully, injuries will not be a hindrance for him, as even if we say they still have the original big 3, losing one superstar would really hurt the team.
626  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 25, 2023, 11:36:56 AM

Soon, we will have the game between Heat and Hornets, I believe it will be an interesting game, and mainly, let's see if Love will score his first points for the Miami Heat.

That's for sure, I don't expect Love to remain scoreless again. In the Heat vs. Hornets game, I think I'll be putting my bet on the Heat, as they're coming off a big loss. Therefore, it's expected that they will bounce back. It's still a road game for them, but the Hornets are not a really good team, so I'll stick with my belief that the Hornets will not ruin our parlay bet this time.
627  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My $300 bet won $417,000 on: February 25, 2023, 10:58:18 AM
You are lucky because you are a huge risk taker. Honestly, I'm not sure if I could put a $300 parlay because that is huge for me. You know, with parlay bets, the chances to win are very low. Although you claim that you won because you did your research, I would say you were just 90% lucky.

Anyway, congratulations to you! Kill that sportsbook bankroll and make a living through gambling.
628  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Some Common Mistakes Made by New Crypto Investors on: February 24, 2023, 09:59:26 PM
snip~
But I think sometimes beginners may have to experience mistakes so they can improve themselves and their mindset to be better.
As a newbie, you cannot avoid losses and mistakes, I am 100% sure that everyone, the rest of the investors in today's market, makes mistakes as a newbie. But if you listen to the advice of your predecessors, you can minimize your losses. Sometimes the loss will help us to learn valuable lessons, but if the loss is too great, it will be a shock to newcomers, easily making them discouraged and giving up. As a newbie, do not rush to think about profits but find ways to limit losses to the lowest level.
There are always inevitable losses in any investment that you wish to venture. Most particularly if you have no experience with that kind of investment, expect that there will be more losses than gains. But the good thing about it is that mistakes and losses are good motivation to hone our knowledge and skills so we can see improvement in our investment. And by that time, positive mindset will also be develop as it’s also vital in making our investment successful.
629  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Binance's 98% Dominance: Should We Be Worried? on: February 24, 2023, 09:34:20 PM
Nope. Volume dominance clearly shows that Binance is the most trusted exchange right now but it doesn’t give much concerned since their founder is clearly dox and will not runaway. If ever he will runaway, There’s no way he can hide all those coin away from the public eyes.

I believe the only that concerns me is the decreasing number of interest on other exchange which might be a cause for some exchange to go under since there will be income.
I also don’t see myself worrying about Binance because i know the fact that this number indicated here is not precise, its overrated I think. Because I have also known reputable exchanges aside from Binance, and I’ve seen their businesses are also prospering this time. But my worries are for those small exchanges that have not established their names, they will surely be left behind with this stiff competition.
630  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you keep your gambling habit under control? on: February 24, 2023, 08:58:07 PM
Seeing how many people who are problem gamblers today did not have the intention of becoming gamblers who lack self control but somehow they are now gamblers who cannot control themselves, It means that everyone is at the danger of become such if it is not put in check.

How do you keep your gambling habit in check such that becoming addicted and out of control is something that never happens?

(share your strategy for others to benefit from)
I just limit my gambling exposure so I won’t have problems from seeing myself in consistent losses. Through that, I can spend more quality time with my family and be able to make use of my extra money in some useful things and not spending them all in gambling. And I really make sure to spend only small amount of money that I will no longer use and once I lose them all, then it’s time for me to leave the house with no regrets.
631  Economy / Economics / Re: Are people really having the wrong concept of savings? on: February 24, 2023, 08:26:14 PM
I do not think anyone should get the purpose of saving wrongly. People save for many reasons, like for nvestment, to tackle emergencies etc. You can even save money because you want to buy something that year or later and you do not want to go for installmental payment which will require paying more over certain period of time than buying at once.
For me, as long as you save for future use, then it’s never been wrong especially that you are thinking that today’s life might be somehow different in the future as some uncertain events might be surprisingly occur that would trigger our finances. That’s why whatever you do as long as saving is concerned, then it’s always a positive trait that will help us benefit in the future.
632  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I gave investment advice to my grandfather. on: February 24, 2023, 07:48:54 PM
That's good advice. An important rule of investing is not putting in more than you can afford to lose.
Your grandfather putting all of his wealth into Bitcoin is a very bad decision and one that could have negative consequences.

Much better to buy slowly and spread over multiple purchases, DCA.
Yes, great job. Bitcoin investment takes a lot of risk so your grandfather should never invest all what he has got as he may end up losing them everything if not properly managed. Although I would say bitcoin is very profitable, but it takes for some professionals to invest for guaranteed profits, while your grandfather has no experience at all so he must invest only what he won’t regret losing.
633  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is trading good for beginners? on: February 23, 2023, 09:33:13 PM
Someone met me and we were had a conversation on trade and he told me that he has used all he has been saving for trading and asked me if he can make something out of it and I asked him if he had any knowledge about it and he said no.

My question is can someone that doesn't have any knowledge about trading and how the system work can he or she trade and be profitable in it? Since at some points it has some compliments bof luck.
After some time of discussion, he has been told that it's just for them to choose on the candles sticks if it's up the they want to choose or the one going up just with this idea can they trade with such an idea.
so I wan to know if it's right for the person to begin trading?
Definitely, not good. Beginners will only ruin their trades and lose their money because how could they win their trades if they don’t have even the basic knowledge and skills needed in trading. There should be a thorough research and study at first, that will develop newbies to adopt the right mindset in trading, otherwise newbies will only trade just for experience and never for profits. Although it’s a good thing too as experience will make a trader improve his performance, but it would be best if you trade both for experience and profits.
634  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 5 Ways to Make Big Money at the Casino — Without Gambling on: February 23, 2023, 08:21:48 PM
There a things called "Investment"

If you have money and want to earn in "CASINO" business, then you investing on bankroll is the best option. I remember from "Top G Podcast" - Andrew Tate, he have experience opening a casino and partnership with some mafia.

He provided the money, casino to partnership with the mafia. He make a big money from that. ~XD
It’s obvious that casino will certainly make a huge amount of income as long as it’s well managed. Otherwise, if those mafia will only focus on their personal intentions, the casino will never become profitable. But if you can partner with some reputable casino owners, I guess that will also be profitable later on. But it’s a sure thing that they will demand bigger capital, and it will never be an issue as long as you can highly afford it.
635  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't feel comfortable with crypto exchange on: February 23, 2023, 10:30:33 AM
Everybody needs to fear crypto exchange without waiting for people to preach exchange is not good for storing bitcoin.   Remitano exchange is where I do buy bitcoin and sell bitcoin.  Sometimes it is very difficult to have access with this wallet to sell or buy bitcoin,  at times it takes 24hrs before one can logging this exchange. Just imagine exchange like this have some network issues like this and never gets back to normal again. This should be enough reason why people shouldn't store  bitcoin on exchange wallet.

Sometimes people over reacting on some situation happen to other exchange if you live in fear then you might afraid do trades even on reputable exchange. Maybe the right thing to do is not to afraid but rather to be aware of possible risk of getting scam due to some any possible incident to come. Just trade on exchange but never think about making this as our personal wallet to hold our money for long time.
Don’t feel too much convenience putting all your hard-earned money in an exchange, that will only allow them to use your funds or you can be a target of scamming. Even if you put your money in reputable exchanges, that won’t guarantee security as there’s no exception to it. Although they can be good for trading but never for safekeeping. So never doubt trusting your own personal wallet, as it’s the only way that you can secure your money out from scammers.
636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Life's first investment in Bitcoin by selling bicycles on: February 23, 2023, 09:43:05 AM
First of all, congratulations on your first Bitcoin acquisition; however, many newer members haven't properly comprehended the concept of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general, and the so-called success stories are to blame. You shouldn't be discouraged over losing $5 worth of value. I perfectly understand how you feel because I've been in your position before, but you should aim for long-term holding and the accumulation of Bitcoin while having realistic expectations. Chances are, if you're starting from scratch, you're unlikely to become rich from cryptocurrencies. Focus on your steady growth and don't be discouraged.
It’s too early to expect good profits from bitcoin, especially that the market is still not bullish. But still, stay being optimistic. Bitcoin profits are most seen when you consider it as a long term investment, the longer you hold it, the higher the profits you will gain. However, always know that bitcoin investment are not all about profiting only, we have our fair share of losses and profits here. But if you want to maximize your profits, invest bitcoin for long term, and never fall for panic selling just because bitcoin value is declining. Bitcoin will surely grow, you just have to patiently wait for it. And while waiting for the price to increase, I suggest you do DCA but only with an amount you can manage to lose.
637  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My father thinks I'm working in a shop,he didn't know I'm bitcointalking. on: February 23, 2023, 09:07:35 AM
Now my father asks me about my shop, and where it's located,I told him I'm bitcointalking, and he doesn't know what I'm talking.
I don't think I know what you are talking about either. What do you mean by "bitcointalking"? Do you mean that you are advertising your services via bitcointalk or that you consider being in a signature campaign as a job and that's actually "bitcointalking". I can understand the former, but seeing latter as a full time job is a very dangerous thing, even if you are from a 3rd world country.

Btw, I think that you just made up a new word lol.
It’s a new word for me too. Thanks to OP lol.

We all know relying from this signature campaign alone is totally risky, but believe it or not, posting in a signature campaign has given me bigger source of income compared to my day job, certainly because I’m just a minimum wage earner. However, I believe this bitcointalking should not be our only source of income. It’s good as a side hustle, but will never guarantee a stable job. Otherwise, you might struggle financially in the future once this bitcointalking will never be in demand.

~snip~

I don't want to say something about how they are picking those players for the All-Star game, but there are way better players out there who aren't picked just because they aren't popular enough. Kind of disappointing.

Some players who are really playing well this conference are not in the All-Star game. Well, they cannot complain about that because the All-Star game is a popularity contest. Even if you are struggling, as long as you are popular, you will surely have a slot. Anyway, I just wish that this All-Star game is not the same as the NBA All-Star game where there's almost no defense at all. It's just like a 3-point shooting contest so it has become boring.

Hopefully, since PBA is following the concept and they are aiming to gain that hypes for this season's All-star game, I'm just happy to see that both TR7 and  James Yap will be playing, I see the point above you where good players are not being selected as like how you describe it, All-Star game is a fan base selections, as long as you have the name the chance to be selected still high.

Let see if how things will work during the All-Star night. Maybe coaches will give some defense to entertain the fans.

Just my opinion though, still depends on how they will design the system for each team.

I hope there are also betting odds for the All-Star game. I would be interested in betting on the winner of the 3-point shooting contest and, of course, the actual All-Star game. Maybe it won't be the same as the NBA since PBA players are not as good at shooting 3-pointers as NBA players, so we might see more action in this game. I can't remember, when was the last PBA All-Star game?

By the way, some great achievements for JMF.

Fajardo joins elite 2,000 offensive rebound-club

Quote
SIX-time MVP June Mar Fajardo continues to join the elite ranks of PBA big men after becoming the latest member of the 2,000 offensive rebound-club.

The 6-foot-11 San Miguel center achieved the milestone during the team's 102-99 win over defending champion Barangay Ginebra last week in the Governors' Cup.

Fajardo grabbed a total of 18 rebounds in the win, including 12 offensively.

He is now the sixth player in league history to grab 2,000 offensive rebounds after legendary centers Ramon Fernandez, Abet Guidaben, and Jerry Codinera, along with Asi Taulava and Ali Peek.

The big man from Cebu reached the landmark early in the game when he grabbed the rebound to score his first basket.

And it means that this fight could be made in Japan and that money split will not be a problem.

I hope so. Usually, the money split is the problem, and that's why the fight is not pushed through. However, I haven't read any news about Inoue backing out of the fight, except for the fight against Casimero, which was previously cancelled, but he didn't make it happen when the situation was already okay.

Here, it's different. Inoue needs this fight because he is aiming for a new belt. He has to remember that, although he is the more popular fighter, he is the challenger here.
