6201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Transaction from Summer 2010 on: September 03, 2018, 01:30:47 PM
Can anyone explain what would happen if I created a wallet in 2010 and someone sent coins to the wallet address, gave me a tx number that I stuck in and hit receive, shut the wallet down and left Bitcoin demon running ( It probably didn't sync with the network) and went to work. When I got home the power had been off and the computer was off, I never had it back online since then.  I looked on the block chain at old addresses and don't see that amount around the time it happened.

If some one sent the coins to that walle, then there should be the coins, even if the wallet get down or get offline, the bitcoin network keeps running, so there is no reason to not see the coins on the addy, unless the transaction get a double spend.

Maybe when you take a look at that block you search for a wrong addy, bitcoins doesn't disappear in the air, so if that transaction was really made, it should be listed in the blockchain.
6202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: my transaction fee is too low . what should i do now? on: September 03, 2018, 01:24:47 PM
i used blockchain wallet default fees and i after i paid i discovered the fee was too low
i am worried my transaction will never get confirmed
60f2e9148c2c21f2aa23fbbba188693436e0996f03985c8f73c57445ba67478c

As other people say, your transaction is already confirmed, but i would like to explain what happen when you use low fees... In that scenario the transaction could take some blocks to be confirmed, but at end it will confirm, it could take a long time because that transaction will be low priority for miners, but it can't get stuck in the limbo for ever. So if you want to pay low fees you can if you don't care how long it take to confirm, other way if you need confirmation in the next block, remember to use the right fees to make from your transaction a high priority one.

Please check out my blog on bitcoin and reviews are highly appreciated . Any recomendation and criticism are highly welcome. Here is the link below:-
www.rajasumi.wordpress.com

You need to update the blog, i see the last post was on March 9, 2017, and there are lot of hot bitcoin topics you forget, like the $20k bump or the fork called bitcoin cash.

I had used wordpress for blogging some years ago, and there are lot of nice designs, you should change that template too and add something more related to cryptos :p

This are only ideas, but at end is your blog and you do with it what ever you want.  Wink
6204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Your investment strategy? on: September 03, 2018, 12:45:39 PM
Hello all.

The current situation of the market is not so good. I believe that some of you are panic, some are giving up, some holding to die.  Cry

We all are waiting the bump to see profit, is hard to predict markets so if we buy at high price it doesn't matter what we do, we are in red number and a looser position, if we panic sell we lose, if we hold we have our money stuck, so, some times is better to lose a % but let the money flow, other times is better to hold and be patience. Until the coin bump we will be in the right way.
6205  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will privacy and merchant adoption fuel the next price rise? on: September 03, 2018, 12:37:42 PM
Everybody is talking about ETFs, but I don't believe that they will be the fuel for the next price rise. As Bitcoin moves further towards being a store of wealth, and merchant adoption increases as secondary services like the lightning network stabilise, they seem more likely to trigger the increase in value. The price of Bitcoin seems to be cyclic, and to add a zero to the price every two years. I think we have missed the chance in the current cycle, but the one due in the summer of next year looks to be on target. Will the current enhancements arrive in time to fuel the next parabolic price increase?

I see the cyclic pattern in bitcoin too, as you say, every 2 years, but they are factors who bring the mega bumps. Remember the first time it hit $1k proves shows it happen because bots was manipulation the markets, then it crash hard, takes it some time but the drop was from $1k to $250... and people doesn't stop trash talking about btc. Then the past bump, and people was amazed with btc again, and now days wesee lot of people who buy at $20k and now they lose big money. As you say for those ones will take some time to recover their invest.

I don't think the magic will happen in the summer of the next year, i would predict December of 2019 as the next bump, but only time can talk. And answering the topic main question i would say no, the factor who will be the next price rise will be some whales in the market. To change the price we need to see a damn big volume in trading and merchant adoption will not bring that big volume.
6206  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BEST WALLET?? on: August 31, 2018, 03:56:21 PM
If the plan is so save the coins for long period the i would say the best option is a paper wallet. To make a paper wallet could be really easy with vanity gen, you onlt need the addy and the private key, then you can print it or save it inside a file.txt then put that file inside a zip and add it password.

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Vanitygen

Remember to download the software and create your own addys, if you use a online service for this then you will risk your coins by compromising your secret key with the server.
6207  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Sent funds to coinbase Aug9th and have not yet received them...HELP on: August 31, 2018, 03:15:28 PM
Ok, after take a look to the addy ( https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/12ngg3CB9VDvkbFDx7JKY92i9kYgDmiEaj ) we can discard:

1.- Addy typo.
2.- Two deposits on the same transaction.

I don't have much experience with coinbase, but some exchangers change your depo addy after make a depo, you can verify if this is the scenario on the deposit tab in coin base.

The step to fix it, is to send a mail to coinbase support, and give them all the info you show us. Should be something like:

Quote
Hello support

10 days ago i make a depo of 0.094 btc to my deposit addy, 10 minutes later i make another depo of 0.62574.  The problem is i only receive the first one in my coinbase account but the second one doesn't show in my balance, i verify the blockchain and both transactions has been confirmed: https://www.blockchain.com/btc/address/12ngg3CB9VDvkbFDx7JKY92i9kYgDmiEaj

Hope you can help me to fix this issue and recover my money, thanks.

Good luck.

6209  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Forum don't recognize my HTML code on: August 30, 2018, 04:51:26 PM
Bitcointalk's forum uses BBCode. https://www.phpbb.com/community/help/bbcode

This is right, bitcointalk uses bbcode because that's a SMF feature, other way userers would be able to inject some evil code and fuck up the site.

If you want some one translate you code for bbcode you can post it on the services section and for a low amount you will find some one to do it. By the way, if was easy for you to write that html then would be really easy for you to understand bbcode because is just another tags language.
6210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Yahoo Finance Integrates Bitcoin, and Ethereum Trading on: August 30, 2018, 02:42:58 PM
Works like an exchange is this allowed for US citizens? The US had few trusted exchanges and this might add to their list.

This also got me confused. I thought Yahoo finance was only a place to look at prices and portfolio values; basically price tickers for stocks and stuff. But then news came out that they integrated crypto trading.

Article for those interested: https://cointelegraph.com/news/yahoo-finance-integrates-bitcoin-ethereum-and-litecoin-trading

Thanks for share a source, so, yahoo is a big fish for this kind of markets, lets wait for some crazy moves on the markets. Lot of people trust in yahoo, so lot of them who always want join to cryptos now will find the chance to do it. This way isn't only yahoo investing in cryptos, it comes with all the investors that platform already have, so, take your popcorns and enjoy the markets, this will be fun.
6211  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: To HODL or not, this is the question on: August 30, 2018, 02:16:51 PM
We see alot of people holding on the the coins they invest in, either they are afraid to loose out on future gains, or waiting for a rainy day when they can cash out, does this not effect the market with so many coins not being traded, causing the fluctuated trade movements, with people mass selling when the market starts to fluctuate?

Nop, the holders coins doesn't affect the market, until they decide to sell... remember  there is only a % of the coin on the exchanger, and that % is what gives the price, but if you want to buy all the btc then  you will have tu bump the price to the moon with that small % of coins from the exchangers, in that moment holders will feel secure to sell because the price will be ridiculous .
6212  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Trading altcoin for the first time... on: August 30, 2018, 02:12:55 PM
I want to learn to trade alts, on Binance, but am just afraid to begin.  Most of the vids I've seen say to use Bollinger bands along with, of course the candlesticks.  Can I get by with just those two indicators for trading?  Or, are there more "tools" I should use?  Just seems a bit overwhelming! Only going to spend $20 worth in fiat to start out, until I learn this. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Start with $20 is a wise move, that way you don't risk a big amount and have some fun money to learn on the way. Remember how hard is to predict makets and follow your feelings, if you have that feeling about big risk on your moves then take out the money and join back once you feel secure.

You can learn how to use the exchanger with videos. but that will not make you a good trader, is like try to learn poker by watching videos, you will see how players bluff, but that doesn't make you a good bluffer.
6213  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase got hacked??? on: August 29, 2018, 09:07:02 PM
Yesterday, I logged into my Coinbase account after a long time and ... It's empty,

I have a small amount BCH and BTC there. 2 transactions were just made and sent all my BCH and BTC to somewhere.

Before that,  I did not recieve any email, or 2FA SMS.

Now I lost all and dont know why.

I don't think it was a multy users hack, from what you say, the only victim was you, so, maybe you have a virus in your phone and computer and that way the hackers get access to your login data. It could be a physical hack too, maybe you leave your PC on and some one get access to it, or some one get your access data with a MITM attack at some coffe shop. Try to figure out how it happen to avoid it happens again.
6214  Economy / Economics / Re: Wise thing to do with your savings. on: August 29, 2018, 03:22:37 PM
well, not sure if the 20% is a right percent, maybe that piece of cacke should be adjusted based on how much you earn. We can say 20% is the minimum, even with the 10% you can make nice profit, but if you earn more, then you should make bigger the percent, at end you should take the money you need to live until the next payment comes, and the rest leave it in the savings box. That would be a wise move.
6215  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How do you earn money in the blockchain economy? on: August 29, 2018, 01:59:57 AM
tl;dr: What the question says...

How do you earn money, blockchain-related?
For each of the options, feel free to leave a comment to describe your role in greater detail.
I'm looking forward to your replies! Smiley

Service provider for long time, i have done coding jobs for people in this forum, and worked as support in other sites. But at the start my main bitcoin income was the casinos, lot of them used to giveaway nice btc amounts to test the site.

So, work from them and get them online, we know bitcoin have lot of business sources...
6216  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: way of mining on mobile on: August 28, 2018, 09:55:58 PM
When will mobile phone can useable for minig. Is mining too much hard that mobile can not capable, which functions will make mobile capable for mining?and when ?

Now you can mine with mobiles, but the profit is too low to burn the phone that way, maybe in future when we have good video cards on mobiles then we will be able to use them to mine with nice profits. Now days mine with movile is almost the same than mine with CPU, both are a waste of time, energy and hardware.

If now days you want to mine from phone with some profits, you need a phone like this: https://www.xataka.com/moviles/asus-rog-phone-caracteristicas-precio-ficha-tecnica
6217  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: To sell or not? on: August 28, 2018, 09:51:47 PM
I earned a few bitcoins in the new project. I'm newcomers to this. Prompt you need to sell or worth the wait?

Well... if you need the money for something, then you should sell, if you want to hold and see if btc price bump, then hold, but remember it can crash too, it have a risk. Both options are good, with one you get the cash to spend in your wallet and with the other one you can make more profit. So, choose wise. At end is in your hands the decision.  Wink
6218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: anyone running BitCoinCore on Ubuntu in a VM? on: August 28, 2018, 05:12:51 PM
setting up a fresh VM (VMWare ESXi 6.5) of Ubuntu 16.04.5 (fresh install), and when i launch bitcoin core (to allow it to sync up to the chain) the whole VM freezes up. got plenty of ram, cores and drive space setup for the VM. the 10 other VMs on my server box are running fine.

First take a look to the minimum requirements:

Minimum Requirements

Bitcoin Core full nodes have certain requirements. If you try running a node on weak hardware, it may work—but you’ll likely spend more time dealing with issues. If you can meet the following requirements, you’ll have an easy-to-use node.

Desktop or laptop hardware running recent versions of Windows, Mac OS X, or Linux.

145 gigabytes of free disk space, accessable at a minimum read/write speed of 100 MB/s.

    2 gigabytes of memory (RAM)

A broadband Internet connection with upload speeds of at least 400 kilobits (50 kilobytes) per second

An unmetered connection, a connection with high upload limits, or a connection you regularly monitor to ensure it doesn’t exceed its upload limits. It’s common for full nodes on high-speed connections to use 200 gigabytes upload or more a month. Download usage is around 20 gigabytes a month, plus around an additional 140 gigabytes the first time you start your node.

6 hours a day that your full node can be left running. (You can do other things with your computer while running a full node.) More hours would be better, and best of all would be if you can run your node continuously.

Note: many operating systems today (Windows, Mac, and Linux) enter a low-power mode after the screensaver activates, slowing or halting network traffic. This is often the default setting on laptops and on all Mac OS X laptops and desktops. Check your screensaver settings and disable automatic “sleep” or “suspend” options to ensure you support the network whenever your computer is running.

If you have that hardware in your virtual machine and it still freezing, then you should try with other operative system like centos.
6219  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What to do with scammers on: August 28, 2018, 04:02:11 PM
I saw 70-80% ico are scam which are not reliable .they do smart work and making projects by invester and advisers and after not giving token ,making scami .what to do with them. Have you ever fallen in scams ? I am fallen some time .

Before join to an ICO investigate who is behind the project, if you think they are real persons then you can proceed by the legal way. Get a lawyer and start a demand against them,  if the ico is from other country than yours, then this will be hard, but i think is the only way to proceed with those scams... Other option is to get a hacker to be bad with the bad guys, but this always end wrong  Tongue
6220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Bitcoin ecommerce payment system on: August 28, 2018, 03:17:45 PM
Hi

Im looking for an good system for my ecommerce, where customers pay with bitcoins.

The setup i want is when customers press the "pay" button they get redirected to an site that converts the SEK to bitcoins and the customers buys the bitcoin with creditcards and send to my ewallet.

Does anyone know an system that can do that?

BR Fred

I have a better option for you, if you use the shapeshift API you will be able to accept bitcoin and other cryptos, this is easy to do. If you want to go by the hard way, then install bitcoin node in your server and use some wrappers to make the connection in the backend, that way you can manage your own wallet for the selling point.
