6221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Nxt] API of Nxt on: December 26, 2013, 06:16:55 AM
Sorry for the newbie question, how do i associate a secret with an account?

Is the account a SHA 256 of a SHA 256 of a secret?

gbeirn,

I setup about 16 to 25 servers into a single cluster. Then I can type a single command, they all do it. You can also drill down to each single server.

Really, after more than 5, you have to get cssh. Trust me on this. On the Mac csshX is even better, but same core functionality

gbeirn,

Are you using cssh or equivalent? Without it there is no way I could manage 100+ servers

nexern,

I got all the names during the horrible int overflow and rewind. After the rewind I registered again. And then since some of the names weren't showing up after I woke up this afternoon, I registered them again if the getAliasUri didn't show up right. I figured an extra NXT was worth it.

http://localhost:7874/nxt?requestType=getAliasURI&alias=jimbo properly maps to my website
but it does not appear in the name list.

You need to use 4.7e!
Very old version no good

6227  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: December 26, 2013, 02:49:07 AM
Only two of my (~30) aliases appear with http://87.230.14.1/nxt/nxt.cgi?action=4000&acc= 18146608053740744717

I also got [2013-12-26 02:36:34.194] 17: java.lang.NullPointerException
 on Mac.

Anybody know where the current Mac version is?

Zero,

Don't say that. I am assuming if you are on the wrong fork, forging won't work. Will it eventually fix itself. Does it even have a chance of running unattended for 2 weeks?
I can't mine on the laptop, too old java refuses to install

ZeroTheGreat,

Thanks! That was it, so far so good. Just hope it doesn't go braindead after half hour.

You are ZeroTheGreatest!

I think there are client bugs in the Mac. I have refreshed, reinstalled, many times. It never gets in sync, usually gets to a negative balance. Just confused.

I am assuming the only way to mine is from the client, but how can you mine if the client never gets the right block chain? I did see it mine yesterday before the int overflow, since then always orphaning, etc.

Is there some changes that need to be made to the files in nxt folder?

I am starting from 4.7e

OK, I got it running on one server, but I only have ssh access to it. How can I make sure it is working right?

Once I get one going, I can cssh all 150 of the servers in a few hours.

How much would 150 servers help things?

James

P.S. donations would be nice as these are productions servers that will make less revenue by doing this.

I will be taking a Xmas holiday, so not sure how much time I will have, but everything you need to get going with a manual gateway setup is in place. I will be checking messages daily.

You can also ask for help/advice on the ripple forum https://ripple.com/forum/index.php

Merry Christmas everyone!

I have a bunch of dedicated servers, but all at one data center. Is there any benefit from deploying the server code on more than one of the servers?

What would the typical CPU load be? These are compute oriented servers, so not much bandwidth for each, maybe 10mbps.

How much would this help?

Everything is messed up for me. I have a transaction that appears in the block chain info website under transaction ID and also in my list of transactions, but my total NXT doesn't count it.

Client side, it keeps getting confused and now 99% of my NXT is not accounted for. Right after refreshing and logging in again, I get to:

      24430      4747512364439223888      12/25/2013 9:06:56 PM
4      80 + 4      544 B
1      12062559375247828788      932 %

With over 1000 unconfirmed transactions. I have waited for 10 hours for things to clear up, but if anything it is getting worse. I have the latest 4.7e version started fresh in its subdirectory.

What am I doing wrong? Please somebody help me, I will be going to airport soon and won't be able to be online much for two weeks and I really need to get this fixed first. The fact that the server side block chain website can miscalculate the total NXT in my account seems to be a pretty big bug.

please help!

I keep restarting client, it's fine at first, but then as soon as a non 4.7e peer, a bunch of valid looking blocks become orphans and I am stuck on block 24167

Do I need to somehow blacklist the 4.4 nodes?

Also, is block chain info website up to data?

Could somebody make sure it works properly?

CfB,

683429532330563018 is the transaction, it had deadline of 60, it is still in block chain explorer website
However, block chain explorer website does not reflect this in my acct. Maybe website is not in sync yet?

After refresh and relog in, my client gets current right away, then after a while all blocks goes to orphaned. 699 unconfirmed transactions -> ~1400

CfB

good morning. Only a few of my aliases were there, so I just resubmitted them. Probably did each one several times, at least I got all but 1 and the current blockchain is valid, so won't have to do that again.

Only problem now is significant xfer of NXT got undone. Please confirm that I need to ask seller to resend?
