6221  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why gambling is portrayed negatively almost everywhere? on: May 12, 2018, 04:54:17 PM
Gambling is prohibited or considered negative in almost any country or anywhere because it is very risky .. because it will create an addiction without control and will cause danger and harm yourself .. many negative impact if you gamble and you will lose money or everything, Avoid and stay away if you do not want to be poor..
Officially, every country except few ones say openly that no activity regarding gambling will be entertained and the person caught disobeying the rules and regulations will be punished strictly but they don’t do what they say.

Every state is well aware of every single affair happening in it but they don’t like to stop gambling casinos from doing their job because they are helping governments by paying heavy taxes.
There are more serious problems than gambling that are illegal in a state but these happen. The truth about this world is, everything can happen under the blue sky and most of government people themselves are criminals but just with a decent look.

Besides, we can’t really stop a person from doing what he has made his mind for in this era of information technology where internet provides all sort of entertainments.
In my country gambling is also prohibited and if the security departments know about a place where people gambler they raid there and seal the place. There are no casinos in my country, because gambling is illegal and nobody is allowed to gamble, but many people still gamble because they are addicted of gambling and they cannot quit gambling easily.
Gambling portrayed negatively because it is illegal in some aspects. If we heard the word gambling the thing that comes in our mind is waste of money. No more time for family bacause of addiction to gamble. For me I can't blame those perceptions that people are thinking about gambling.

What aspects you are referring to? Will you please elaborate? Don't just go away by saying "illegal in some aspects", instead let us know those aspects. There are many countries in the world where gambling is legal. What you are talking is the general conception of many in this world because they have never tried it. If you are referring to addiction, then it is not good to have addiction in anything in life. Gambling alone can't be blamed for that. Please elaborate your aspects here.
6222  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: The Law of Blockchain: Beyond Government Control? on: May 12, 2018, 08:40:05 AM
You have raised a very interesting topic here. The answer is no for bitcoin or for any other similar currency. I am not considering centralized currencies like smart contract tokens or Tether. If we consider currencies like bitcoin and litecoin, trying to get control over it will remain as a big joke for the government watchdogs because it is not possible technically due to the pseudo anonymous nature of blockchain. Without any central location to track, the governments will end up chasing a non existent oasis in the dessert.

However, if you maintain an account with an online wallet provider, then there is a chance of being caught if the company agrees to hand over the user's data to a particular government.

The government can even try to restrict access to the internet within their boundaries the way India tried to ban porn sites. But using tor or vpn, this restriction can be easily bypassed. So it is indeed beyond control of the governments and that's the only bottleneck we are facing towards the adoption.
In general means, they would like to completely shutdown on the things that they arent able to control which blockchain technology or on decentralized coins in the market will really be their priority and figuring it out on how manage it but same as you said this would really like finding an non-existent oasis on a big dessert. There are ways but not totally a big blockage on such increasing adoption of crypto.

Probably few governments would try to completely shut it down, but the question is, would they be able to do it? I believe no! Complete blockage can't be achieved by any means. Yes, if the government starts ruling like North Korea, that every crypto users will be facing firing squad, then probably it will be achieved through fear. But technically it is not possible. There are ways to bypass government security protocol. People will start using those if a government tries to block the crypto currency by force.

6224  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTC what is really going on ? here is the answer for all your questions! on: May 10, 2018, 10:47:31 AM
So this is purely TA based. no emotions !

https://www.tradingview.com/chart/BTCUSD/wcgoxG71-BTC-the-HIDDEN-uptrend-is-giving-is-more-reasons-to-LONG-btc/

you may go on and argue all you wont about "TA doesn't work" but it's been working for me all along.

watch this trend carefully !. it's the base-line of the whole crypto market.

if you want to see more of my trading ideas, click on my name at tradingview.

Good luck

The uptrend is visible in broad daylight. Even though technical analysis means a little to bitcoin but it certainly gives us an overall trend to look at. From last few weeks bitcoin's price is not touching the previous base and showing upward direction only which is a good thing and a long term bullish trend is visible. I read through your analysis. But I laughed hard when I read the below line,

"as long as long as the price doesn't close below this trend line , we are still BULLSHIT!."

I believe, you are trying to say "Bullish" here. Probably a typo!
6225  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reason why bitcoin won't last long (which are you afraid of?) on: May 10, 2018, 08:44:16 AM
I think you supposed to add ban by government to your list as i always fear if government will ban bitcoin in future..

the big danger for me is ban by the government... Smiley

Yes, that is one point OP is missing and it is a very significant point. Scams and frauds will always be there even if we don't move to crypto currency. So these kind of cases doesn't really matter for a currency to prosper. But if government bans it, then it will have a significant impact on the crypto community of that country. A major percentage of the people will move out of the market just because their government banned it. However, it can't be forcefully stopped. We all know that guns and drugs are banned in many countries, but are those not available in the market? Little hard but still available. Similar way, crypto currency can't be stopped by passing a regulation. The risk factor will increase after the government ban, but achieving a complet ban is just not possible!
6226  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did the use of online gambling increase with crypto moneys? on: May 09, 2018, 10:20:54 PM
We used different deposit methods and there was a lot of fees in the past. What is the link between crypto moneys use and online gambling?

Probably yes! Earlier when cryptos didn't exist, funding a gambling account was a costly affair. So when cryptos came into existance, it provided a cheaper option for the gambling community and today we can hundreds of online gambling websites (not all are trusted though) because of this added convenience of cryptocurrency. It certainly gave a huge boost to the gambling industry and nowadays, even casinos in Vegas is accepting bitcoin because of its convenience.
6227  Economy / Speculation / Re: The connection between economic sanctions, instability and Rise in Bitcoin price on: May 09, 2018, 09:20:00 PM
Just to get the fact cleared, the Iran government did not buy any cryptocurrency. Only the people associated with cryptocurrency in Iran deemed to have done it amidst the rising uncertainty after America left the nuclear agreement. They have probably done it to continue with their international transactions and business payments overseas. People are trusting cryptocurrency in their bad time, that is the only silver lining of the story.

Otherwise this is not at all a good news for the international politics. Especially Asian countries will face the heat because Iran majorly exports their petroleum to Asia and the oil price has started increasing already.
6228  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Nearly as Bad as ‘Trading Harvested Baby Brains’ on: May 09, 2018, 08:19:29 PM
Lol!! Another addition to the haters list and nothing else. I can see their fear about loosing the business in the organized financial sector. The way cryptocurrency is progressing, either they will have to adopt it or they will become extinct. It's just their fear speaking out of them. Nothing significant!
6229  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Facebook appointed David Marcus to explore Blockchain on: May 09, 2018, 06:05:46 PM
i still don't understand what they are trying to create though! anything they make will be a centralized way of using the blockhcain technology and because of that it will have a low quality and value. it will be basically the same database that Facebook is already using..... correct me if i am wrong.

Even I have the same thought here. Facebook won't be creating something radically different server architecture from what they are using now. Also they won't be doing anything decentralized. Probably they will be implementing the blockchain technology to safeguard their data integrity and reduce data theft risks.

But it is too early to say anything. Since the announcement just cane yesterday that they will start exploring the blockchain. So we don't know what their thinking process is and what they are trying to implement. I am just happy that finally big corporates are realizing the power of blockchain.
6230  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Facebook appointed David Marcus to explore Blockchain on: May 09, 2018, 09:15:42 AM
David Marcus is a well known techie who served as CEO of Paypal and Vice President of Messaging at Facebook, has now moved to a different role to explore blockchain technology to be used within Facebook ecosystem.

Few of his achievements:
1. Facebook messenger has become a standalone app on the first month of his job.
2. Facebook messenger is now processing 17 billion + messages every month.
3. He is also a board member of CoinBase.
4. Two international patents.

While the end goal of this initiative is not yet finalized and unknown to the common mass. It is evident that big corporates are now ready to spend billions in blockchain research and development. Outlook towards blockchain is changing for a better computing world. Voice your support!

its a very generous offer,indeed
one bitcoin for an anlysis of an altcoin of your choice...
more information would be in order though, tweets have a symbol limit
do you have any limitations as to the size of the post or any other prerequisities? other than it has to be an anlysis you like?
tempted to participate and write up about ADA Smiley
When it comes to analysis i think having symbol limit isnt bad but it much better if there would be no limitation so that everyone would able to write up their analysis without any limits even myself would really like such thing. It is really generous to have that kind of reward on just posting out your analysis of a certain altcoin. I would definitely join this one and take a shot. Grin

This jackmate competition is for short fundamental analysis and that is the reason why they have chosen twitter as a platform. Otherwise they would have chosen medium or steem or some similar platform. Frankly speaking, not everyone has the capability to write a very detailed analysis. So in that case the competition would have seen far less competitors and limited impact. But with short analysis a lot more people will be able to join and try their luck. I mean it makes things easier for all of us especially when the prize is really tempting.
6233  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks now looking closely at the blockchain technology on: May 08, 2018, 10:13:45 PM
It was pretty much evident that the entire banking industry is slowly changing their outlook towards blockchain technology. But it's the technology only and not the bitcoin. Banks are planning to embrace the blockchain technology but still thrashing bitcoin.

While bitcoin can posses a significant threat to their business, blockchain technology technology can ensure utmost integrity of the transaction which can help banks to reduce the number of banking frauds. Banks are now experimenting on how blockchain technology can be used in centralized environment. I believe JPM has already filed patent of their own blockchain platform.

There are few banks debating to release their own digital currency for their consumers. We all know blockchain technology is the future backbone of the future digital economy. It's a good sign that slowly banks are understanding the same.
6234  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How and/or why would anyone trust Anonymous Developers of Blockchains? on: May 08, 2018, 09:30:47 PM
If the blockchain a currency or token is on is only as strong as it's developers, then what is the best way to really find out how to trust it before investing? Especially if the developers are anonymous?

Without going into the technical nitty gritties, I will simply not invest in any project where the developers are anonymous.  I am not a technical person and more interested in finance because that's what I do in my professional life as well. Doesn't matter how high the merit of a project is, if I can't see the people behind it, I won't trust them with my hard earned money.

Having said that, I am excluding bitcoin from this discussion. Because bitcoin is the pioneer in blockchain technology. The blockchain technology came into existance with bitcoin. But nowadays, a lot of scamstars are running ICO to pull funds from the community and claiming to bring new technologies in the market. The fact is, 60% of the ICOs are run by scammers. So anonymous developers is a big NO for me.
6235  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How well does Bitcoin function as a currency? on: May 08, 2018, 10:56:45 AM
Successful currencies meet three criteria:

(1) they are in widespread use as medium of exchange
(2) they serve as unit of account
(3) they are a stable store of value.

Most sovereign currencies fully meet all three criteria.

What about Bitcoin?

These criteria were built around the conventional currencies and bitcoin is not a conventional currency for sure. It is an innovation that shook all conventional thinking process on what a currency should be. So no, bitcoin doesn't meet all your criteria here. But bitcoin introduces new criteria on what a future currency system would look like.

(1) Decentralized - one world one currency
(2) International - No border restriction
(3) Fast - Bitcoin transactions are extremely faster when compared to any bank introduced international transaction
(4) Cheap - Cheaper than banking transactions

I don't think any conventional currency would meet these criteria when compared to bitcoin. That's the new generation currency system which will eventually be adopted by the entire world. Slowly but surely!
6236  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: TWO strategies are now challenging bitcoin core on: May 08, 2018, 09:13:52 AM
thanks to roger ver and the successless trial against him

I doubt anything has gained momentum yet. There is a discussion ongoing to sue Roger for misleading the crypto community and I don't think anything has started yet apart from the discussions with the community.

Quote
there are now two strategies to challenge bitcoin dominance

1. Creating and Propagating an Altcoin

2. Creating Another Bitcoin and Claiming the other Bitcoin is the Real Bitcoin, dening Bitcoin Cores Lead Role

That is already ongoing and now we have total 9 forked coins available in the market. But do we really care? I am sure the old community members just don't give a shit about it because they believe in the power of bitcoin and they know what is the actual bitcoin and what are those fake altcoins.

Quote
you guy should beetter switch to ethereum now as the trend currently goes, you cant win this competition....

Is it your propaganda to promote ETH? Diversification is always good for your investment portfolio. So why ETH only? Why not other altcoins like Zcash, Ripple, Litecoin, Dash? Why ETH only?

Quote
there will be bitcoin gold, bitcoin diamong, bitcoin silver etc, all trying to imitate roger vers marketing strategy.

i expect even a propaganda industry to rise that constantly creates new bitcoins and market it as the "true","real", or as ver said "legitimate" bitcoin

regards

I am sure no community members will believe those useless marketing strategies even if there are 9 more forked coins. The challenge is with the new members who doesn't have much information about bitcoin and these forks. It is easier for the new members to get confused. But then self education is the key to such information. Also community help is another important aspect to that education. So I don't think any major impact these false marketing strategy will do. Truth always shines and stays above.

6237  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Affirmations that shall change your winnings. on: May 08, 2018, 08:46:54 AM
After watching and reading the movie and book secret I happened to read you can heal your life by late Louis hay and book was a total game changer for me.

For those who do not know how to make it work, simply understand the universe gives what you think or what you have prepared over a time patterns.

Why is it some people are always winning and some always loosing it's what they trained their mind for.

To put this to a small quick test I tried it with two of my friends (both have the worst loosing streak and they really hate themselves).

So I made them read the book and made them repeat, their past gambling has no effect on their current ones, they're lucky and should love themselves. They'll win and win, they're whole and complete and finally they're in the winning league.

Results they did win and now I wish to carry this message to all, love yourself, bless your bets and simply keep on saying you're going to win, you're in the winning league.

I think you are talking about bringing back optimism and self-confidence in your life. I won't say these are the reasons behind winning your future bets, but it gives you that x-factor where you can learn from your mistakes and retains those learning. Gambling is truly a game of luck and optimism and self-confidence doesn't give you luck but it gives you the power of not looking back at your loosing stakes. These two are the must-have psychological qualities one gambler should posses.
6238  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Busted: Britain Confiscates $700,000 in Bitcoin from Hacker on: May 07, 2018, 10:24:55 PM
It's a good news that the hacker got busted and sent to jail for his crimes. But now the question is what will happen to that $700,000 worth of bitcoins? Are these going to be distributed to the rightful owners? I guess no! It will be an addition to the British Treasury. So the fund is just transferred from one hacker to another while the rightful owners will cry foul.
6239  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bill Gates and Warren Buffet are the newest critics of Bitcoin. (From CNBC News) on: May 07, 2018, 09:55:06 PM
What do you think is/are the reasons why the two of the world's most richest men doesn't support and is against Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency?

It's a free world and everyone has rights to talk. Especially on something decentralized bitcoin. Because they don't have to face defamatory lawsuit due of that. So here they are talking non sense about crypto currency. But this is not the first time especially for Mr. Buffet. He has been attacking bitcoin since long time now and stopped making sense to the worldwide crypto community.

Mr. Buffet is speaking against bitcoin for the same reason Mr. Dimon did. They are from organized financial business which is being directly affected by bitcoin and other crypto currencies. But I see no sense when Mr. Gates speaks against it. Their field of business doesn't even correlate. Probably he is heavily influenced by Mr. Buffet or taken a huge short position on bitcoin's price!
6240  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Venezuela’s President Creates Crypto Funded Youth Bank on: May 07, 2018, 05:13:10 PM
this is exactly what other governments need to be doing ,

i do believe that there currently are a lot of eyes on Venezuela watching it closely to see what they do and what their decisions lead to regarding the first government issued cryptocurrency that became big. it is like the experiment everyone is watching so that they can learn from their mistakes and if the "experiment" was successful then they all repeat it with better results.
in any case Venezuela will still be the first and can potentially become the biggest one in this field. specially since they have been educating their people. it is not just creating a coin and telling people "come use it" they have been actually teaching them about cryptocurrencies, what they are, how they work, how to use them,...

Absolutely! A lot of countries are now watching this experiment and probably will replicate the same if it becomes a success. Venezuela's economy has been struggling since years even after sitting on the world's largest petroleum reserve. The President is trying to get that back on track and cryptocurrency is playing a big role in it. If it becomes successful then it will make a great use case of cryptocurrency and probably many other governments will be convinced in adopting them.
