Plus, online wallets, especially those on exchanges have minimum transfer amounts that you may drop below if you are actively trading and lose a little.
6242  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What Bitcoin wallets are best to use? on: September 25, 2016, 04:35:05 PM
I also have a few online wallets on exchanges.  Some of the coins that I trade are on very few exchanges and there are other coins that are on a different small set of exchanges.
6243  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Nxt :: descendant of Bitcoin on: September 25, 2016, 04:19:39 PM
question......I am actually running BurstCoin, which is a NXT off chain and I cannot find a nice way to shutdown the NXT client/daemon when needed.  If it shuts down wrong, then most of the time the DB has to be dropped back in before it will run again.  The console is too quick and gone for real info and the logs are pretty much useless, no what the settings for logging are.   The actual NXT software is started from within the BURST java and I do not have the time to pick through all of that.  The batch file that starts it all is

Code:
start "BURST" "%%~$path:f" -cp burst.jar;lib\*;conf nxt.Nxt

of course on the server setup we have the PATH set so the parsed code would be

Code:
start "BURST" java.exe -cp burst.jar;lib\*;conf nxt.Nxt

A few seconds later a console pops and the NXT code go forward.  If it works right, the windows stays there, if not, the console closes and the error is barely seen.....I catch an unknown in parentheses....then it is gone.... the NXT log files is nothing different than a normal run.     To find the point where NXT is started and add a pause at the end will mean tearing into the burst.jar and finding what happens.  I extracted it and it is pretty deep...not even sure where to start looking in that code.

So, question is this, you open a console and start NXT running...it is going along fine and you want to kill it.  CTRL+C works 90%, shutting the console windows is pretty bad, around 30%, Task Manager is not a pretty way to go, same as closing the window and gets a 35% success rate.  That code line above uses java.exe. loading burst.jar as a lib and referring to an entry point defined in nxt.Nxt within that lib, yes?

I have seen a launch method for Java that involves a start and stop key, basically passwords in a way and the java program or script is sent to a local TCP port that is not being used.

I did a quick search and could not find it, but I did not the forum here for those things.
6244  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Internet Marketing on: September 25, 2016, 04:18:01 PM
Get rich quick schemes online are always fake. It's not easy to do "internet marketing" nowadays. There is so much noise and so little really valuable information out there.

I agree with you. There are many things like this out there at online, getting rich fast in a second. That internet marketing, like ponzi and hyip are really risky though. People need to smart nowdays.
If you already know about ponzi and hyip is really dangerous better is not put that into the part of internet marketing. there are another place is best then it...
very wrong those who say that the ponzi including internet marketing. things like ponzi can damage us, we could lose all our money.
because ponzi is something crazy in my opinion.

We don’t use a third party company, but we do have a small division that handling a lot of that.
6245  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: pocketdice.io scammed 102btc, please help!!! on: September 25, 2016, 04:16:29 PM
Pocketdice The only thing I want is a simple confession. I did not pay the money and accusations of fraud and the use of robots brought to me. Do not lie for you is so simple. Is this reliable site that I use for advertising to lure new players?

Due to the fact that the site has been around awhile and at the same time this case has a high profile, there should be no issue.
6246  Economy / Economics / Re: Best way to manage money? on: September 25, 2016, 04:14:49 PM
A nice set of tools to help manage things would be some smart contracts.  When used and set up right, they can be like bots used in trading.

It is something that you could pull off with a lot of tinkering and may be the framework base for building bigger in the future, but like he said, it splits resources and is a waste.
6248  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1BTC = $600USD, now a good time to buy? on: September 25, 2016, 04:09:25 PM
well, it is not a bad time to buy.  If you are ok with a shift of $25 up and down or perhaps a little more, it has been pretty stable for more than a few weeks.  there were all those predictions about the halving and that had very little effect.  there are not many events in the near future that we know of that will affect it, so this is as good a time as any to buy.  do not use money that you cannot afford to lose because one never knows for sure, but it is pretty safe right now, especially for a long term investment.

I agree.  At the same time it almost depends on what your idea of a profit and loss are.
6249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Online shopping platform Shopawl accepts eBay purchases in bitcoin on: September 25, 2016, 04:08:19 PM

6250  Economy / Economics / Re: Is gold better than Bitcoin? on: September 25, 2016, 04:07:12 PM
Gold is good but I do not consider it better than the bitcoin because it will sometime take so long to make profit with the gold.
Withe the bitcoin you can simply just make money in a short term.

Gold is more stable than Bitcoin. But bitcoin enables greater gains in the short term.

If you don't have Patience then trading is not what you're looking for. Maybe try Gambling because they're all fast money, Earn Fast, Lose Fast

6255  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Ad Networks Opinion discussion on: September 24, 2016, 06:20:58 PM
These are hard times for faucets,Adsense is no longer an option and every other advertising network is paying much lower. My opinion is that if you want to survive you can't rely only on ads you must be more creative and look for other sources of revenue.Adding some gambling games on your faucet is a good idea, people don't mind risking the satoshi they claimed for free and it seems to work on other sites like Freebitco.in,Faucetgame,Bitgames.io,etc.

Ads that look like download links on file sharing sites is one thing, but these are outright copies of the image for the “Get Coins” button.
6256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ETC] Ethereum Classic: Immutable Smart Contracts on: September 24, 2016, 06:18:44 PM
As long as ETH and Vitalik are going along with the superuser editable, hard fork, censor prone blockchain I don't have anything positive to say about that bunch... So I am just keeping my mouth shut.  If you want to see the promise of Ethereum kept then ETC is where that will happen.  The other chain leads to more centralization and corruption.  So keeping track of both chains is wise, but I won't put my eggs in the ETH basket.   Just my 2 sats.

That is the very function of the difficulty, to keep the solved blocks within X time range.
6257  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin wallet in bank? on: September 24, 2016, 06:17:08 PM
Do you think that one day you could open Bitcoin wallet in your bank, along with your.ordinary bank account? And will banks have their own wallets? Or maybe they already have? There are some rumors that some banks are preparing themselfes to addopt the Bitcoin and give it to their clients as a new service?

I think it unlikely that banks accept deposit bitcoin someday.
6258  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What Bitcoin wallets are best to use? on: September 24, 2016, 06:14:41 PM
I chose Electrum and it needs a password each time in the version that I picked, but that is nothing compared to some of the others that require that 12 words passphrase or even the pvt key.
