6241  Economy / Speculation / Re: Lightning Network will help bitcoin`s price reach 6,000 USD in November on: April 01, 2019, 02:34:23 PM
Bitcoin is the gold but a gold that can easily spend in everywhere with the help of Lightning Network.

You mean digital gold?

Of course, adoption is really going. Everyone wanted to get a hold of this so-called digital gold. And just like any assets, it has problems and LN is the much anticipated solution to it.

We are still the bearish trend, sad to day and it will take months to be able to recovery. It might be that LN could be considered by others as catalyst, but it needs more growth, more adoption in order to help the price to reach $6k. But I guess, if there is growth around the corner, there could be other factors as well that can contribute, not just LN.
6242  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pacquiao Vs Mayweather 2 on: April 01, 2019, 01:03:53 PM
Looks like Floyd is enjoying the Philippines, probably had talks with Manny for a eventual super fight again, but everything is still up in the air. But it's good to hear him visiting out of the best tourist vacation spot in the world, Boracay. So let's see, looks like they are really slowly building up some hype, (chance encounter in a NBA game then in the Spence fight).
As usual, business and leisure rolled into one for Floyd Mayweather. When team Pacquiao rules out a fight with Spence i think they are now seriously targeting the Money vs Manny rematch. With Floyd in town, i think the rematch is taking shape. The two fighters are set to talk on Tuesday PH time, i hope this could be it beacause i hate to see Pacman fight younger and taller opponents like Spence though he can beat them but for sure it's not good for his body.

Yeah i heard in the news possible both boxer meet here in the phillipines, hope they talk about the rematch and have good results decision from them because theirs fans are waiting this exciting rematch.

Very interesting to see Floyd going on vacation? Seriously in the Philippines just to take a vacation or are they cooking up something? Hmmm. Let us see what will be the outcome of this so called Floyd visiting the Manny on his own turf.

I'm sure they will meet here and Manny being the 'tourist guide' and show how beautiful the Philippine is. And then after that, probably have close door serious discussions about the fight and they must be drolling on how much money both of them can make if they face each other again.
6243  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: [VIDEO] - BITCOIN Technical Analysis April - TARGET $5,000 ? Today on: March 31, 2019, 09:41:57 PM
I never seen the video, but I'm amused by how many are really bullish about bitcoin and seeing it in the range of $5k-$6k in the next couple of months.

I think it's doable. I mean we have seen a lot of so called experts, perma-bulls who really predicts exorbitant prices like in the 5 digits. But we all know that the process will take that long. It was not like the price will spike overnight. Realistic predictions like $5k-$6k can really be achieved, might be slow but possible.
6244  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Bithumb Hacked on: March 31, 2019, 05:48:49 PM

This is the third time an exchange is hacked in two and a half months

Cryptopia exchange hacked
Another hack : Dragonex

I hope that with time people will understand that it must be a reflex to say to themselves that you shouldn't hold your coins with an exchange platform (or the minimum), these are incidents that happen too often to expose themselves to risk.
We keep on telling this thing all over the years but people dont really listen up and just cry when they already lost up money.I thought that these exchange hackings would lessen by as the years passed by but im wrong yet these situations can randomly happen. This might really be an inside job or connected to that lessening of workforce by -50% as a sort of vengeance  Cheesy

I agree. We sounded like broken records here, keep reminding everyone not to put all their funds in a exchange and get a hardware wallet to secure your coins. And then one day, when we see exchanges being hacked, we will hear members here (usually newbies) bitching around saying that they have lost X amount of coins or funds.

Anyways, inside job or not, Bithumb has a lot of explaining to do again.
6245  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: CoinMarketCap hit $140B is this the start of the next bullrun? on: March 31, 2019, 04:44:07 PM
So we can see some pattern here, and for obvious reasons, it doesn't look like that we are in a bull run yet. We are so far from that, imho

That's not the only pattern

Another pattern which is worth mentioning here is the slow rise. And it is not so much the rise of the price itself (I refer to local highs here) as the uplift of the whole trading range. In other words, we may not be making new highs (for example, in early January we surged to almost 4400), but we are nevertheless still making higher lows. If anything, this is definitely a good sign since the recovery is well underway

Exactly, it's going to be a slow grind, as other have said. Not a bull run, but yes a good indication that recovery is underway, it might takes months of a slow but ascending pattern, so we can take that.

This past week was pretty cool to watch the market cap go from 133b - over 140b today. Alt coins are starting to move again. If someone had to start trading to build up their nest egg and had $30 to throw into the mix where would you put the money?

My pics:

I would not pay attention to this data, they specifically do not give anything. She grew so fast and can fall.

You mean, pump-and-dump, what do you expect from a altcoin? Remain stable, most of them have no actual use case, so yes, they will be used by speculators for their short day trading by hyping it and then the massive sell offs.

6246  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Netflix for fruits and veggies on: March 31, 2019, 04:27:12 PM
You should at least have introduced Bitcoin payments or a blockchain tech in your service before you even posted your thread here. It made it look like you are just advertising a ordinary service with no relations to cryptocurrency  in a Bitcoin forum. So do not wonder why you are getting a lot of hate and skepticism in your thread, it's natural as you can't even answer their questions straight. There isn't even a hint of a referral system going on in your website so it really looks like you just posted your service here to be promoted.

Exactly, he keeps on mentioning 'blockchain', but when questioned he can't answer some basics on how it will help his business. Did he just just the waves of this technology to sound that they or the company are more advance than their competition?

Good market ploy, but sorry, no one here is biting. We have nothing against you having your on-line business, but please don't involved 'blockchain' if you really don't have any idea about how it works or how it will improve and stream-line your business.

6247  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not about ''get rich fast'' !! on: March 31, 2019, 04:17:26 PM
Partly blame media for it. First they portray bitcoin in a bad way, when people didn't listen to them, they depict in as something like a magic. "If you put money in it, you investment will grow overnight".

People get's excited, throw their money in the market without doing their research, and yes as some point their money grow in 2017, but after that, then went bust in short amount of time and then blame bitcoin. And when you go around the forum, there are still a lot of noobs, asking for financial advises.
6248  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Thoughts on the QuadrigaCX CEO suspicious death??? on: March 30, 2019, 12:38:46 PM
Anyone here a victim of the QuadrigaCX scandal?

I totally forgot to include this one, self confessed victim of the exit scam, Software Engineer loses life savings in Quadriga imbroglio.

Quote
Tong Zou wasn’t a stereotypical crypto bro bent on accumulating flashy trophies such as Lamborghinis when he deposited his life savings into Quadriga CX’s digital exchange.

The 30-year-old software engineer, who’d been working in California for seven years, just wanted to save a few bucks on transfer fees after deciding to move to Vancouver. It proved to be a C$560,000 ($422,000) mistake.
6249  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do none of you feel guilty? on: March 30, 2019, 12:16:02 PM
Shilling for casinos, encouraging people to gamble away their savings. SCUMBAGS.

At least these SCUMBAGS did enjoy playing their crypto's in a casino, instead of losing it to scammers.

Jesus fucking christ there goes my savings i held in bitcoin due to this fucking scammer screwing with electrum update.

Don't hate the gamblers, hate the system.  Smiley
6250  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop Comparisation with BTC and Other Payments Methods. on: March 30, 2019, 12:00:52 PM
Comparison is inevitable. Bitcoin is touted be the a payment system, specially for those unbank people around the world, so it makes sense to compare them with other services like Paypal. However, we have to take note of one thing: bitcoin is fairly young, the design is very different, so data is irrelevant.

And there are also pros and cons of using bitcoin as payment system. And only the one that differentiate bitcoin with the rest of them is that it doesn't involved any third party. And we can't even compare them based on transactions per second (TPS), it's target market, it's functionalities are very different, so obviously the results will be very different as well.
6251  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Any one here receives this porn blackmailing on: March 30, 2019, 11:47:28 AM
Right, this is just some random person who just happens to get your email from some other websites as all. Just delete these email and ignore that c**t.

And besides, if you did nothing wrong this there's no way you should pay these people. I received email to this when I joined the crypto sphere, but I don't pay attention, just delete the email and then go with your usual daily routine and don't be affected.

If you are paranoid, then change your password or better yet get a new email account.
6252  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀✨[Rocket.Run] THERE WAS NO SUCH GAME, UNTIL NOW. JOIN THE THRILL. ✨🚀 on: March 30, 2019, 11:36:47 AM
Not everybody pams for merit / signature campaigns everyday. Somebody use this forum just for reading and fun for years. As me  Grin

So 5 merit \ 120 days isn't constructive rule.

Perhaps you are just one exception, but believed me, there will be a lot of people who will just registered here in a day and would just take advantage of the mechanics of the game.

I would give you one example and I'm sure  Hhampuz can attest to it, I'm not sure if it was late 2018 or early 2019 wherein Hhampuz open a survey thread and he paid those who participated in bitcoin, not that big though, but still in bitcoin.

And then it was exploited with lots of 'brand new' accounts trying to take advantage of it. I'm sure Hhampuz caught a few who try to get away by exploiting. But my main point is that it will be abused. So the merit requirements is a good thing to deter cheaters.
6253  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Gemini is full on with native SegWit!!! (And uses Blockstream's block explorer on: March 29, 2019, 03:42:44 PM
We need weeks, or months worth of high levels of network congestion to make services realize why Segwit is such an important upgrade. We're all humans in the end, an we all need to be reminded why things matter by going through situations highlighting the weaker points.

Or we need bitcoin to go to another all time high and see the network congested again and people complaining about exchanges not batching or not using Segwit.  Grin. As the saying goes, "better late than never", and at least they have move forward after a year and this change will have good consequences in the future.

And Segwit adoption is close to 50% now. It's a hard and steady growth. I think if more exchanges would adopt it, growth will be in the 60% range.

6254  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you watch the matches you're gambling on on: March 29, 2019, 03:31:27 PM
I watched every game that I gambling on. Why? Because it's really excited and fun and the excitement you're getting after seeing your favorite team winning a game.

I don't know, but it doesn't makes any sense to me if you are just going to bet and then sleep over and hoping that your team are going to win. And if ever you didn't won, it's part of the game but at least you can see that the team you beat on is giving a fight and not just let you lose that game. And as others have said, good bettors started their careers watching games anytime and then they gradually pick their analysis through experience.
6255  Economy / Speculation / Re: The updated BitCoin price predictions for 2019 . LOL on: March 29, 2019, 03:23:20 PM
CoinSwitch.io: 23.5k by DEC 31 2019  is close to my estimates
However is see good chance for ETF to be approved in November
ETF approval and halving can spike bitcoin price much higher

I'm leaning towards the block halving to be the mean catalyst for the price to go high and most probably hit some of those predictions. As far as I can remember, it was 4 weeks prior the the halving that the rally started and then a slow 4 months after and the eventually bubble in 2017.

What I don't like with the ETF approval or even the BAKKT Bitcoin future offerings is that it's beyond our control. It's good to happen though, but I'm betting that the block halving is a big event to happened next year.
6256  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Thoughts on the QuadrigaCX CEO suspicious death??? on: March 29, 2019, 02:41:52 PM
Anyone here a victim of the QuadrigaCX scandal? The series of events seem all too suspicious and convenient that soooo much money could not be retrieved. Do you think his death is legitimate even?  Are there any updates on this story or has it been swept under the rug already?

Luckily I'm not a victim of their exit scam.

I agree all circumstances leading to the death of their CEO, to them losing access to their wallets seems very suspicious. Cotten is dead now, and a lot of new details have emerges, after his demise.

If you wanted to see more discussions about this topic, please see the link below:

Gemini is full on with native SegWit!!! (And uses Blockstream's block explorer....)

I just saw it from reddit, try to look at there official twitter account but so far I haven't seen anything. Did anyone of you using Gemini see the difference though?

What do you think will be the impact if all trading exchanges started to adopt Segwit (P2SH type) and (P2WPKH type)?
6258  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Chinese Poker, Classic and Open Face Thread on: March 28, 2019, 07:08:47 AM
Lol, that Chinese Poker is what we call "Pusoy" here in the Philippines. I learn that game like 30++ years ago, hahahaha, maybe mid 80's. And it was still as famous as today in the country as far as I know.

People here play that game either as past time or with big money involved, I'm glad that you enjoy and wanted to learn that game, but I guess for Filipino gamblers they are really very familiar with this game.  Grin. Most experts can really arrange which way (and as strong) as they wanted it to be, even by just looking at the cards at the beginning  Grin

Then I guess you should invite them to play at SWC:  https://play.swcpoker.eu

I know I sound like I'm shilling the site...  Bit just in case you guys wanna play some Chinese poker online and don't where, now you know.  Smiley

The people behind SWC version 3.0 have seriously done a great job.  There are kinks here and there but nothing major.

I used to promote their site as a participant in their signature campaign, so if there is one who's going to shill then it should be me  Grin, unfortunately it was just a short 4 week sig campaign.

Anyways, those guys are not interested, and those players literally wanted to hold the cards and play it around, not like a 'virtual' card.  Cheesy
6259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Laser-etching a Cold Storage Coin on: March 28, 2019, 06:33:34 AM

a much easier and in my opinion better way of doing it is engraving using the special letters that you can buy and all you need is a metal plate with a hammer!

^^ This. I'm been thinkering this idea for quite some time now. You don't have special skills needed here, just the old metal plate and a hammer will do the trick. Recently, I have a friend whose house got burned that's why it just crossed my mind that I need something to do specially with my cryptos.

Although they are safe somewhere, but this is another way to back it up in case something happens in the future.

It's a cool video though and appreciate you sharing it.
