There is a way to know, if some one told you that they are doubling your money or they offer more than 10% higher than any good bank.
Know they are 100% scam as well you can just search the site name in here main forum page to see if others say anything about that site.

When you could literally make money better than others by special equipment and you can produce those equipment, what happens?
Nothing except you profit the most out of doing it.

While mining always remain profitable, since the whole idea of mining is to profit. But you could hit a loss of funds if you don't adapt and evolve.
