Happy Sunday to those of you not studying for a massive test today (hey I'm allowed breaks).
In light of the recent scam attempt (or 99.99% likely) for loaded Nola coins, I wanted to ask around to see if anyone has much info on these things. They are in the encyclopedia, and though I don't have it on me, pretty sure mintage numbers were around like 1k.
Does anyone actually own one of these coins who's willing to share that they do? Has anyone seen them around here anytime recently? It seems like these are kinda white whales and I'm guessing the mintage number in the encyclopedia is not correct (am aware the mintage number may just be "up to" 1k made).
Would love to own one, as I know many others here would too..but they seem to be very rare..

You can also very likely open the capsule with your finger nails. If it did by some chance break you could get another at a local coin store or just use something else to ship it. I think most of these bids so far are made with the possibility that the coin is scratched up at least a little bit. If you take the pics you’ll get higher bids.

  Would you mind taking the capsule off the coin so we could see it directly (would recommend gloves if you touch the coin, no matter what a certain LesbianCow around here might say). Cool sports guide here. I’m a big collector of St Pete Bitpay bitcoin bowl stuff. Programs were being sold on amazon for a while at $25, where I picked one up. There were a couple different programs for the game actually. I would love to buy this but 1BTC is really high. Good luck w/the sale.

I would recommend posting a pic of the coin to r/cosmosnetwork and you might be able to get some answers to if it's loaded, how many were minted, etc.

I would also recommend swapping out the coin in to a new capsule. I would fear that since it's already broken, it would be very easy to chip off more and those pieces could scratch the coin or scratch/tear the hologram. Just my 2 satoshis.

This really is a nice set of rare coins. If I didn't own a set, I'd be in. These things sold out right away when orig. listed on ebay, and I've gotten plenty of questions about them on my instagram page. Good look w/your raffle sir.

how has it been stored/handled? did the metal come into contact with skin or hard materials?
no. why? Because fingers have oil and collectors don’t want that all over the bars. If it was stored with other hard items, it could easily be scratched up. You have pictures, but it’s still kind of hard to tell that info. (I believe this is why they asked). |
