6281  Other / Meta / Re: fillippone Merit Source Application on: October 24, 2019, 11:25:27 AM
Thought you'll never applied, I have observed you develop into a well established member of the community, imparting the forum with your knowledge as a result getting the rewards you truly deserve. There's no doubt you're capable of executing a perfect job as a merit source
based on your smerit rewarding history.

Don't think you need my merit though as you'll probably get more of those on this application but understand that you get my support for that which you seek for. Your appointment would definitely get more merit into the WO thread, no doubt you got the WO family support 😁.
6282  Other / Meta / Re: Add "Manager" link to signatures on: October 24, 2019, 11:11:37 AM
***

Understand it from this angle, the forum is arguing the managers to take their job (moderating the campaigns) seriously with this suggestion and also encouraging forum users to report abusers to the campaign manager.. Let's look at spamming as an example, merit was introduced to tackle that problem same thing can be said about the suggestion by the OP.

Sure everyone can easily know who's managing a campaign but when the forum shows concern towards solving a problems it give the forum users more reason to work towards ensuring that problem get solved/reduced. If this suggestion by the OP was to be implemented with a thread explaining the new feature I bet you, more and more report about users abusing signature campaigns will be recorded and probably reduced the rate at which signature privileges is been abused.
6283  Other / Meta / Re: Some good users awakened by Yobit on: October 22, 2019, 05:40:21 PM
As Welsh has mentioned previously, merit is one of the most important factors to take into account when trying to comprehend whether an account is trustable, reputable, sharing informative posts etc.

Seems you misunderstood @Welsh statement as he never meant merit should be used as a factor for behaviors not relating to the post habbit. Trusting someone just because of their earned merit is stupidity as it might backfired badly like we have recorded in the past with loan defaulters/scammers. Trustability and reputation should be separated from merit earned instead the general activity of the user on the forum is a better criteria.

Although merit earned doesn't tell you all about a users contributions to the forum, it gives you an idea on how visible the contributions of that user has been.

Well thanks for the kind words. Smiley
It might be that I'm not pushing any projects at the moment. The photographic project to help people in low income countries is starting to grab me. I thought of Venezuela, but Nigeria might be another country where members could benefit. I think that projects like this to help members to earn Bitcoin could be useful.

You're welcome. I'm always on a look at for such opportunity so don't hesitate to alert me the moment you come across any. I'm always open to learn. I prefer working smarter to harder that's why I don't engage in an opportunity that'll require me to work twice as hard than I'm currently doing instead of encouraging me to work smarter. Bitcoin has been a major blessing to we from this part of the world, you just have to be in our shoes to understand the feeling we get from been enthusiasts especially as our economy and currency value is depreciating constantly.

Any legitimate opportunity to earn some bitcoin is always welcomed 🤑.
6285  Other / Meta / Re: Some good users awakened by Yobit on: October 22, 2019, 09:28:44 AM
Well-done, sometimes we get too carried away that we forget to look at the bright side of every situation. The signature industry in regards to participants getting an opportunity to promote a campaign is a very competitive one and just as you have highlighted cryptotalk have given an opportunity to those won't aren't spammers per se but luck haven't been on their side like others in regards to getting merited for then to have higher chances in getting accepted in paid bitcoin campaigns.

We have some very decent posters in the campaign and I'm quite sure no one is against them promoting Cryptotalk. I believe the issue here isn't about what's been promoted instead how it's been promoted. The fight per se is against spammers and not the decent forum members.
6286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchanges Tokens on: October 22, 2019, 09:01:35 AM
If we're to grow as an industry then we have to learn how to use things rightly. Tokens are mostly for utility purpose and exchange token's utility should go beyond the exchange platform. The moment we use them outside the exchange it becomes a misused just as technically ethereum shouldn't be used as a currency like bitcoin. Each token/coins has specific purpose that way the industry can grow cooperatively together as a unit.

In my opinion, exchanges technically shouldn't have native tokens per se simply because they don't have utility outside the exchange. If there was no selfishness in the industry by this exchanges then a universal exchange token would had been the best option instead of every exchange creating worthless native tokens and dumping them on their patronizers (customers). I don't buy into your ideas as exchange tokens are worthless outside the exchanges and they shouldn't have been investment privileges in the first.

Simple precaution to avoid your fear of tokens becoming worthless is only buying few that'll be used to cover the exchange charges and not consider the tokens to be investment vehicles like bitcoin.
6287  Other / Meta / Re: When Legendary? on: October 22, 2019, 07:27:46 AM

Same goes for me, the rate at which I recieved merit has also reduce drastically but In my situation I know the reason why since I'm not that active as before and also spending more time in less merit awareness board due to some specific reasons but when you think about it more lower users are getting merited and ranking up so irrespective of it affecting the time to achieve legendary status atleast more high ranked users will be recorded.

The forum interest right now is the 10 anniversary of the forum which is understandable why decent amount of merit are flowing towards related discussion on that matter. I'll presume your case to be out of touch in forum interest since your post quality hasn't changed.
6288  Economy / Reputation / Re: Did I spam? Report me right now. #RMRN #RaiseYourVoice on: October 21, 2019, 11:28:15 PM
You might not be a spammer or think you aren't a spammer until the campaign you choose to promote turns you into a spammer or reviews your true self. Where you affected in any way (like got blacklisted?) If yes then your question can only be answered by the manager currently moderating your signature ads since his decision are final as his school of thought on what spam are might be a little different from what others might consider to be spam.

I understand spams to not just be the worthless, meaningless post written to increase paid post count/activity but also the irrelevant comments posted for the same purposes as the obvious spams. If your reply doesn't add any new value to the discussion be discussed then it's an irrelevant replies which in my understanding is a spam. So technically when you "aren't spamming per se", it isn't an intention action to spam but your post is just a repeat of previous contributions, it could be consider a spam.

PS: you're drawing too much attention to yourself and i can foresee this ending very badly, take precautions and just enjoy the forum like everyone else.
6289  Other / Meta / Re: Signature Campaigns causing lifeless posts in Gambling section on: October 21, 2019, 10:50:29 PM
This isn't a news, I remember pointing out similar observation back then when I was creating this thread; [Guide] Factors to consider before joining paid signature campaigns. in this case the users was advising supposedly gamblers (thread audience) not to gamble yet he/she was advertising a gambling platform to the audience. The gambling, Bitcoin and altcoin discussion board are board you should visit often if you intend reading ridiculous replies either out of topic or totally different from what's actually been discussed.

Hardly before you observe or engage in an interactive discussion on the board as most visitors are just there because their campaign requires them to. There are some special threads that take me to the gambling section which I mostly engage in conversation in (e.g Premier discussion thread) as you can have a reasonable argument probably leading to an interaction. This sport related threads are consider offtopic but I prefer them than most of the supposedly gambling related threads which are just host to spams.
6290  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: how to avoid fraudulent projects? on: October 21, 2019, 04:38:55 PM
One way or the other, the projects will get advertised. If they can't find average members in regards to signature and bounty campaigns to advertised them then they'll employed the service of advertisment platforms to advertise their projects. Each and everyone just have to be cautious in regards to the security of their funds making it their responsibility to safeguard it, knowing what to invest in and what not to patronize. Doing so, we might just reduce the rate at which scam projects succeed.

You just have to understand that what people or site choose to advertise, is their personal decision and not to based your judgement on what a good project is, on these ads. To borrow some words from this user;
Be skeptical: Most of the claims that you will read are misguided, unsupported, or just wishful thinking.
6291  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: October 21, 2019, 11:51:53 AM

I was disappointed at how Liverpool's front three played yesterday which goes to show how important Mo salah is to the attacking force of liverpool. Mane was no were to be found, Firmino didn't impressed me and Origi, can't recall if he actually was on the field. For someone not recieving enough playtime, he disappointed. Thought he'll come on as usual to impress, probably scoring or assisting a goal. You guys just give Manchester United a reason to believe once again in themselves which kinda scared me considering the top four spot is now been contested by more teams.

The positive thing I can take from the match yesterday was the impact the bench had on the game, for the last 8 game there hasn't been a need for players to come from the bench to change the game but the one time their service was needed they delivered. This just goes to show, Liverpool are capable of wining the league.
6292  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Would ICO scene succeed if it was organized like crowdfunding not investing? on: October 20, 2019, 07:14:37 PM
The picture painted to the general public is that the industry is an investment platform so the charity or donation suggestion won't had succeeded as it did with the investment mindset. It was the motivation of recieving huge future return that drove Investors to patronize ICOs although none of this ICOs promise huge returns except obvious scams ICOs still Investors had the believe they could benefit from the future price gain as the market was looking very promising back then.

Same fate can be said about IEO, immediately the first batches of IEO recorded success immediately others jump on the trend hoping to benefit. In this space everything is connected, it's like a chain reaction. Without the ICO success, 2017 won't had been a great year for the altcoins. If your suggestion  was the strategy employed, for the first few projects it would had worked perfectly but immediately others see they can profit from the initiative, it would had been hijacked with the mindset of benefiting from future gains just as the ICOs were viewed.
6293  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bittrex International shutting down services from 31 countries. on: October 20, 2019, 10:57:37 AM
It saddens me to see many African countries on the list. The thought of how many poor souls will get scammed due to this action is just worrisome. Many might not get this info about this decision on time and it would cost them since many Africans still rely in this exchanges for safety especially those in the struggling countries. Most government aren't crypto friendly so some enthusiast stay under the radar my relying on reputed exchanges for safety (although it shouldn't be the best decisions).

Bittrex too will be losing many customers by this action, don't think it's a right decision especially as the affect countries are those we might consider to need their service the more considering local exchanges aren't conducive for patronize.
6294  Other / Beginners & Help / Qualities worth developing as a crypto enthusiast (Investor). on: October 20, 2019, 04:03:52 AM
Picking interest in the cryptocurrency industry is one thing, been able to profit from your stay in the space is another thing. The industry is a host to many distractions (disguise as investment opportunities) that can lead to lost of capitals but with the help of some disciplines, you can navigate your way around. To enjoy & profit from your stay in the industry, there are some qualities I deem fit you should develop. Most of this qualities, I have been able to develop personally and have seen encouraging results. Each of this qualities have their rewarding benefits, below are some of these qualities;

1]: Be Patience: Wikipedia defines patience as; "the ability to endure difficult circumstances such as perseverance in the face of delay; tolerance of provocation without responding in annoyance/anger; or forbearance when under strain, especially when faced with longer-term difficulties". This definition can be related to the current market situation of the industry. Having patience with your investment especially when it comes to bitcoin is a key habbit an enthusiast will have to developed in order to record success from the industry. Our predecessors that didn't possess this qualities one way or the other, had all regretted their decisions made back then to sell their bags causing them to miss out on the current profits of holding bitcoin. It's quite easy to develop this habbit, if you can take your mind of the frequent movement of price of bitcoin and concentrate more on buidling your investment portfolio. Many veterans in the space will tell you, this is the best strategy you can engage the market with and without any doubt, they're right.

2]: Be security cautious: Humans in general aren't know to be security cautions when it comes to finanace that's why they entrust the government, bankers etc to handle their financial security. You can also observe this trend making its way into the cryptocurrency industry as  Investors are entrusting the safety of their investment to exchanges. From recent development, you can observe the exchange has gone beyond just holding Investors coins but now recommending what to invest in and what not to (AKA initial exchange offering). More power has been given to the exchange therefore as an enthusiast you have to understand, the security of your coins and choice of investment is a personal responsibility which shouldn't be assigned to any entity. Making security of fund you number priority goes beyond just safe guiding your coins in your personal wallet, it also involves been cautious of the exchanges you're patronizing and the level of private information you give out to this exchanges. Most individuals will argue that, this is the number habbit a cryptocurrency enthusiast should develop and they're not wrong as the benefits associated with this qualities is what will determine the success rate of been patience with the market.

3]: Be teachable: The moment an enthusiast feels he/she has gotten to a stage they're no longer teachable that's the moment that enthusiast is doom for failure. The cryptocurrency industry is constantly evolving (improving and growing). What might be the right decision today might become absolute tommorow. Staying updated with the latest trends in regards to security etc is a very important quality an enthusiast has to possess to enable profitablity from the industry in regards to not getting left behind while the industry continues to grow. e.g Back in the early days, participating in faucet would had been a good alternative to earn some bitcoin but currently they're a waste of time.

4]: Smartness: This quality us mostly for the short term profit seekers which might involve trying to outsmart the market by trading or capitalizing on new trends. Understand that this is quite a tricky quality to possess as sometimes your stupidity might be mistaken for smartness and unless you have the required skills and abilities to perfect this quality it's advisable you abstain from trying to leveraging on it. If you're interested in outsmarting the market then staying informed and been able to act smart should be a quality you should possess.

5]: Learn from experience: Be able to learn from experience is one of the most important qualities you should develop as a cryptocurrency enthusiast. There's nothing wrong in making mistakes but the inability to learn from those mistakes becomes a problem because it'll cost you, your opportunities to profit from the industry. If you made the mistake of chasing after the ICO hype and was unsuccessful then you didn't learn from that mistakes to improve on your investment decision making but decided to repeat same mistake by chasing after the IEO hype it simply means you aren't ready to learn from experience. Same goes for entrusting your funds to management sites which are just "scammers"  Ponzi operators disguise as "whatever they claim to be". Experience is rge best teacher therefore as a cryptocurrency enthusiast that intend benefiting frim the industry, been able understand the lessons taught by your mistakes should be a quality you should develop.

PS: Understand that the bitcoin and altcoin market works in different ways, while the bitcoin market works in cycle that can't be assured with the altcoin market in general since most of the current altcoins won't last long therefore while been patience is a quality you should develop while Investing in bitcoin, that can't be said with altcoins instead your smartness might play a part when it involves the trading approach.

Note: The numbering wasn't done in any specific order.

Additional qualities worth developing:
6]: Be skeptical: Most of the claims that you will read are misguided, unsupported, or just wishful thinking.

7]: Being firm in your belief along with patience is also important: I will try to explain this with an example:

Say a person bought bitcoin at a certain price and now the altcoins are going up while bitcoin is down. The person loses patience here because they were not firm on their belief of bitcoin's future. What happens is that because of the panic they buy altcoins, but this again the wrong move, because those coins are at all time high now. Very soon the price of altcoins come down and bitcoin goes up, but this person is now holding these altcoins and crying because they didnt firmly hold on to the bitcoins.

8]: Passion: If you are really passionate enough with what you are doing, then continue to acquire your goal.  I mean if you are being a crypto investor by heart, there is a positive outcome to become a successful crypto enthusiast.

9. Know when to move on: Many investors are left holding bars of shitcoins because they lost a little fund when an investment they made don't pan out, for example some people would invest in an ICO because the hype was massive and they know that there is likely to be huge returns but after the token is listed in an exchange, the token didn't meet expectations but they refused to just dump and move on even knowing fully well that the token has no utility and is basically a shitcoin but they just don't want to accept that loss and move on, so they keep holding until it gradually fades to nothing and they start regretting not dumping at the beginning when they would have retained a large chunk of their investments.
6295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: October 19, 2019, 11:18:13 AM
Chelsea - Newcastle
I think Chelsea will win the game.
However first weeks of the season went bad for Chelsea, they have won all their past four games including a great away game against Lille. On the other hand Newcastle have won only one game in the last 6 games. For this game I don't bet on correct score. I predict Chelsea to win the game +1.5.

It's certain that Chelsea won this match. Lampard and his team are solid now, and that means they have started to play a good rhythm with the strategy that he provided.
My guess is 4-0 for Chelsea.

Well as a Chelsea fan and someone who had supported the team right from its difficult times, I'm happy others are coming to realize the potential of the current Chelsea team built by Lampard. Although that scoreline would be a delight to see but our defense hasn't been very convincing so far. In all competition we have only managed to keep just one clean sheet irrespective of the goals we're scoring and it was a home game won by just two goals.

Chelsea is still struggling at home so I won't be this over optimistic by predicting a clean sheet plus many goals instead i go with a more comfortable scoreline 3-1, 2-1 or 2-0 (that's if we can manage a clean sheet)
6296  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: October 18, 2019, 05:01:42 PM
Finally Smiley
The international breaks are so annoying especially it the team you support is doing well. The last thing you need is a 2 week break where your players go all over the world for international games & return tired or injured.

Finally I tell you. It was a sad international break as Abraham wasn't given enough game time to boost his confidence. Barkley scored two goals (which will probably boost his confidence) but we all know how that'll end.  My country drew with Brazil although Neymar didn't have much impact on the game.

Glad the premier league is back and I'm back to the gambling board. Hoping Liverpool will harshly disgrace Manchester United just as they did to us (Chelsea). We all know they'll win but I just don't want a win, they should destroy United, taking all three point plus a clean sheet. Hopefully Tottenham, Arsenal, City & United will all drop points. Liverpool and Chelsea for the win.
6297  Other / Meta / Re: Creating an Altcoin Technical Discussion Board on: October 18, 2019, 04:23:05 PM
Why do we need a technical board when specific threads (probably self moderated ones to avoid spams and offtopic discussions) can be created on the general Altcoin discussion board then related technical (serious) discussion can be carried out on those threads. Example: Dash Discussion Thread Also what's the ratio of members who're capable of discussing technical matters visiting the altcoin board for them to demend this? Have they tried using the general Altcoin board for this purpose and it hasn't be successful?

If none of those have been tried then i don't see a need for this as probably the board would just go cold due to lack of usage like most subsections already existing on the forum. Try creating an audience to back this demand and then theymos won't hesitate to give you guys what you want.
6298  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Different type of altcoins have their season which attract scammers be watchful on: October 18, 2019, 10:48:20 AM
This is why I am quite always surprised when I see people say that the cryptocurrency market follows circle when they all have different factors that has been controlling them and like some of the things we have here, in 2017, we could see that it was the ico that helped the market to boom, but where is the ico again now?

Quite sure they're referring to bitcoin in regards to the cycle of market. We tend to generalized most things when it comes to cryptocurrency and that's where the misunderstanding is coming from. The only market that have proven times without doubt that it's current market state isn't a stable state, is bitcoin as we have experience numerous bull and bear market in the past ten years in it has existed.

Altcoins on the other hand if I'm not mistakenly the only bull run it has recorded was the 2016/2017 bull market so until it repeat itself probably 2020/2021 we can't conclude yet although just like others I'm optimistic another altcoin bull run will definitely happen.
6299  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: To bounty hunters & investors on: October 17, 2019, 04:54:50 PM
For Investors:
ICO and STO are no go side, stay away from them because they are almost all red flags, IEO is here for you and all you have to do is go to binance for any new upcoming IEO fund raising, you will get positive results

And that's where most Investors get it wrong. Be careful when it come to giving out financial advice because that's what you just did. Chasing after the hype of Binance IEO isn't actually an investment strategy instead that's just gambling or clear foolishness as there isn't any gaurantee those projects would succeed in the long run. Didn't the ICO breakdown teach you guys anything? Most of this project recording success via Binance Launchpad won't last long as the tokens would all get dumped leading to a decline in price sooner or later. I'm quite sure the already complete IEOs has already lost some percentage of price value.

[My Opinion]: If you're interested in investing into a project then it's best advisable you get into the project probably once they have a working product you can rely on or probably after the developers of the project has earned your trust due to some proof of work in progress. Don't go chasing the hype associate with a specific trend, it has always ended badly on a large scale.
6300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gram vs Libra: is there any difference? on: October 17, 2019, 02:51:30 PM
There are many difference between the two projects but the only or most common similarities between them is that both project are been developed by big social Media platform thereby fastening/contributing to the adoption of currencies due to the large range of audience, they'll be introducing into the industry and mainstream media coverage. Below are the difference;

  • Firstly, Libra is a stablecoins wanting to achieve the goal of been recognized as a government approved global currency and for it to achieve that goal it needs the support of the government (considering it's a centralized project). Meanwhile, Gram is just like your average token (e.g Ether) which price would be determine by the markets meaning it isn't a stablecoins like Libra therefore Investors could profit from future gains.
  • Secondly, Facebook's Libra project can't be realized on when it comes to our privacy since it'll be (supposedly) collaborating with the government meaning the government and other 3rd parties can easily have access to our private information. But with Gram, considering it's a decentralized platform, it has promise to focus on the anonymousity of it's users.
  • Thirdly, meanwhile Libra is just a payment system (stablecoins), Gram (TON) isn't just a cryptocurrency but a decentralized platform just as Ethereum is, meaning developer's can work on the TON blockchain to.bring about innovative development into the industry like decentralized applications (dApp), DEX exchanges etc

There are only difference although this three are the most important of them all to my understanding. Consider TON (GRAM) to be a community projects while Libra would just be a government impose stablecoins on the community to track the activities of customer that uses it's payment platform supposedly Libra successful launches.
