6281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal or BTC on: March 20, 2016, 12:21:14 PM
Personally I prefer BTC because it doesn't send your house address and what not via payments, What do you prefer: PayPal or BTC?

Both payment system has different domain , In mathematics we can say Paypal is subset of Bitcoin.
nope. I do not think paypal is a member of the bitcoin. both are clearly different. paypal only payment method. bitcoin is a currency. its different

Paypal suck as a payment system with its charge back and holding of money for 21 days.
Bitcoin is good for fast transaction without any hassle of waiting for a long time.

well, i think charge back is not a bad thing. because you are not always the person who receives money through PayPal, sometimes you have to think of it the other way around like if you were scammed you have the chance of getting your money back.
6282  Economy / Economics / Re: 1 important Advantage of BTC over other assets and cash. on: March 20, 2016, 12:16:28 PM
that might be, but not for somebody who is living in said country like Zimbabwe, any property people own are still property even if the value goes down. your house is still your house and a roof over your head.

on the other hand bitcoin is great and all in the sense that you can save your money as bitcoin and use it anywhere in the world without any restriction (or minimal restrictions in some countries) and i like it for this but at the same time bitcoin is not yet at a stable stage yet. it can go up and down at any moment.
6283  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ALL IN!!?? on: March 20, 2016, 12:10:18 PM
Ever go all in  Shocked  and have a positive result?

hell, yeah i would go all in if my bankroll is as big as 0.001BTC then i will bet all of to see how much i can get.

but not if my bankroll is big like >1BTC that would be just stupid losing $400 on one bet is going to suck so hard especially if the next day bitcoin price goes up to $700 Smiley
6284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What was your first gambling experience? on: March 20, 2016, 12:04:42 PM
my first gambling game was in a dice site i don't even remember what it was since it was a long time ago. but they were doing some promotional giveaways for their website and i participated and played for a while with the funds they gave me.

and learned my first lesson in gambling dice that i will lose all my bankroll if i keep betting Smiley

6285  Economy / Speculation / Re: should i go 50/50 with gold and bitcoin? on: March 20, 2016, 12:00:59 PM
at the moment i have 30 btc now i could sell in the highs and buy gold leaving me with 15 btc.

im starting to think btc wont survive long due being entirely digital the thing could be abandoned or worse internet might go down what you guys think i would look pretty stupid buying something you cant see or hold im torn to shreds right now.

ive listened to max keiser and proffs that bitcoin could be worth tens of thousends i think its the most sensible thing to do "dont put eggs in one basket" on all...

it draws a fine line... i.e. all that electricity to "mine" bitcoins pushing hardware to the max and with exchanges like crypsty and cexio mucking me around i just dont see the future help me realise this what should i do?

no you shouldn't, you should go like 75% with bitcoin and 25% with gold because gold is stable while bitcoin isn't so with bitcoin you can win much more money then you could win from gold, also it have larger risk but you probably won't lose money with bitcoin

i agree, this is a much better solution for the time being. bitcoin is on the verge of a rise which can be a big rise leading to a rally so shifting the investment more into bitcoin is a better choice for bigger return.
6286  Economy / Economics / Re: How too get rich on: March 20, 2016, 11:56:45 AM
the only way to get rich is to use your brain and put your skills at work. it doesn't matter what your skills are or what you do, as long as you think it through and you are passionate about it, you will be successful in it.
and in time after putting some effort in you can get rich.

Buy or develop your own time machine and go back to 2008 and mine BTC on the computer at your mothers house in the basement
haha, if only this was possible!
6287  Economy / Economics / Re: Factors That Make One Cryptocurrency Worth More Than Another on: March 20, 2016, 11:54:22 AM
From an economic standpoint, which factors make one cryptocurrency worth more than another?

1) current number of coins
2) maximum number of coins
3) rate of growth in the supply of coins

these three are going to act as some obstacles on the way of success in a cryptocurrency. if you look at the available supply of different cryptocurrencies that have been created none of those which have big available supply are successful.
coins like doge, ripple, ETH, ... can never success because of a simple rule of the market called "supply and demand"

Quote
4) how many people/businesses accept it as a form of payment
5) total number of users

this option is going to have the biggest effect on how much a coin is going to be used and what the final price of it is going to be.
the more people who use it leads to more businesses who accept it which will lead to more users and so on.

Quote
6) technical aspects of the protocol

IMO this option is not that important. there needs to be some good coding behind the coin for sure but it is not going to determine the price

Quote
7) number of exchanges that allow conversion to other cryptos or fiat currencies

has no effect if you ask me. the effect is in the reverse order. which means the higher the demand to a coin no matter what it is will lead to more places (exchangers and services like shapeshift ,...) adding it to their site.
6288  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bad time to go long on: March 20, 2016, 11:45:34 AM
As I'm posting this, Ethereum is still going through one of the greatest speculative bubbles any altcoin has ever experienced and in the meantime BTC/USD's volume is down while the price is rising.

[i m g]https://bitcoincharts.com/charts/chart.png?width=940.1666660000001&m=bitfinexUSD&SubmitButton=Draw&r=90&i=Daily&c=0&s=&e=&Prev=&Next=&t=S&b=&a1=&m1=10&a2=&m2=25&x=0&i1=&i2=&i3=&i4=&v=1&cv=0&ps=0&l=0&p=0&[/img]

People said the start of the year would be a safe time to buy because of the upcoming halving but that was too early, and it's still is. 420 is still above support and there's no guarantee that the coming of the halving is going to secure the price in the meantime, especially with the interest of speculators currently shifted onto Ethereum's bubble at large. You're never too safe with bitcoin.

yes etherium is rising now, but i don't think that we should stop focusing in bitcoin i mean etherium may rise now but who knows that it will rise in near future too?

while bitcoin will rise because of halving so we can be almost sure that price will rise

what you have quoted is from one month ago (19-2) my friend
ethereum was pumped to 0.0353BTC and is being dumped ever since (0.025 now) and just FYI that is 300 million dollar down in market cap.

that is why i say ETH days are over, and only thing left in its market is some random bounce backs
6289  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How Do I Get Bitcoin Fast? on: March 20, 2016, 11:40:21 AM
How do I get bitcoin fast without faucet and gambling? Smiley

Have a camera?  You could always try streaming and see if you can earn any that way.  See my sig.

most of the users in bitcoin talk are male and if they are female , it is rarely happens that they are comfortable doing something like your signature.
6290  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will never reach $700 again on: March 19, 2016, 12:16:26 PM
Of course it is overly optimistic. There are many optimist (or halving-hypers) in this forum now. It looks like the early days of 2015 are long gone. It is terribly easy to write we are going to $1k, but how it matches the reality? I am afraid that this a complete dreamland territory. The last pump in November is a good example. The price touched the $500 target and went down immediately, back to $350. So all the optimist can count is $500-600, due to halving.
it's still March, I think because of halving, the price of bitcoin will rise up to $700 by the end of year, but for $1k, it needs more time in this case.
Try to think about all these who bought between $200 and 300. They will start taking profits as soon as the price exceeds $500. Then you will need really a lot of buyers to hold that level. Would the smart money be buying then? I doubt it.

it is not like those who have bought bitcoin at $200-$300 are going to start dumping as soon as price hit $500 and leave bitcoin scene forever. it would be the same as $400 and so on. some are selling and some don't. and those who sell buy back again with higher prices.
6291  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much have you gambled? on: March 19, 2016, 11:52:58 AM
i have decided not to keep track of all my winning and losing amounts. it is going to get out of hand at some point. instead i limit the amount i put in every week or month depending on how my earning was the past week. so i place like 0.01 and play around with that if i don't lose i come back and if i lose i go away and come back after a long time.
6292  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online gambling or offline gambling at a casino ? on: March 19, 2016, 11:48:28 AM
I like more play in real offline casino, but for me is hard because i live in italy and have only 4 casino approvated to govern and all is very long to my house.
when i can, i go to Venice for play  Grin

i like more the athmospere of real casiṇ, sound, nice girls  Grin
You probably know that, but majority of girls you can find in casino are either:
1. Someone's else girls.
2. Gold diggers waiting for you to tip them.
3. Random girls who want to see what is this place.

There is actually very few female gamblers, and even more female gamblers who play seriously. For 'girls' I would rather visit some other entertainment venue.

Sorry , but for "nice girl" i meant the girl work in casiṇ, like croupier, like bar's girl

i play more time in online casino with live roulette and all girl is nice, but very bored, tyou see when speak and when play the boredom in her face  Grin
but in real casiṇ all croupier are happy and smile (i say is only for work, but is different )

i agree, nothing beats the the whole environment of a casino. going table to table to choose the one that you feel this is the one that i am going to win at, and sitting there playing and touching the coins is something else.
6293  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Safe Exchange/Trade on: March 19, 2016, 11:44:20 AM
maybe you should explain more about what exactly you want to do, and what you have in mind.

if you want to do a business and accept bitcoin as payment (trade bitcoin with goods) you have to use a middle man (an escrow) unless you have enough trust built up and the buyer feels safe doing this. since bitcoin doesn't have charge-back there is no other way.

you can use some platforms like localbitcoins for this but the same story about trust is true there too.
6294  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price for 2016 on: March 19, 2016, 11:26:24 AM
in 2016 mostly because there is a hyped event called halving on the way i am expecting the price to jump up and the chance of another big rally like the last time is high.

and for the price i am expecting anything above $700
6295  Economy / Economics / Re: How to make 17 BTC out of 7 BTC ? on: March 19, 2016, 11:23:26 AM
If someone had a way to doing this there's no way they will share it. You have to take risks to make that big of a jump

read the whole topic and you find a couple of good ideas. and there are well known methods for making profit with bitcoin, what you have in mind about not sharing is a unique method.
i prefer trading for example and making 10BTC profit from 7BTC is not hard, looking back now if he had bought ETH by the time he started this topic he could have had even more profit.

@OP
please share with us what did you do in the end after ~3 months
6296  Economy / Economics / Re: Where did you first heard about Bitcoins? on: March 19, 2016, 08:55:52 AM
i have first read about bitcoin on a forum not related to cryptocurrency at all but the real thing was my friend that introduced me to bitcoin, and everything i know i owe them to him that introduced me to bitcoin and helped me with starting my wallet and using bitcoin.
6297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will only go properly mainstream if ...... on: March 19, 2016, 08:02:41 AM
bitcoin will go mainstream eventually no matter what. all of these are just ways to speed up the process.

anyways i think the only way is through regulation. the government should officially accept bitcoin as a legit currency and businesses are already paying their taxes they use bitcoin and pay taxes through legitimate channels.
6298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: mining BItcoin is illegal activity in Venezuela....? on: March 19, 2016, 07:57:27 AM
this explain why despite their good electricity there is no mining there, but i guess you can evade it easily with soem subterrain environment

there is always a workaround for everything. no matter what governments do people find a way to do what they want. and in the end they can't control bitcoin by banning bitcoin mining, only regular people will stay away and criminals would continue what they were doing no matter what has changed!
6299  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling should be considered as a Sickness!! on: March 19, 2016, 07:54:02 AM
I thought it is considered a mental illness officially  Undecided
There is medication available to help people not to gamble so much.
It has to do with dopamine but just am not sure if it releases it or inhibits it  Lips sealed

gambling addiction is a mental sickness not gambling itself otherwise all the casinos would have been closed by now. besides it is an addiction, no medication can cure this kind of addiction, the person would need therapy instead or a support group that does the same thing.
6300  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: would you have the courage to do this? on: March 19, 2016, 07:49:14 AM
Ashley Revell, 32, had sold everything he had – his house, his car and even his clothes.  He placed all the money on Red at a Roulette table in the Plaza Hotel and Casino Las Vegas, aaaaand..........

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGCdBsOIKYA

is this seriously real?
i am so skeptical to believe this. i say it is just a fake story created by the casino itself to attract some publicity to their casino and make more money. just advertising in a different way.

anyways i would never do this. because i find it stupid rather than courageous.
