6281  Economy / Economics / Re: Which is better, staking or investing? on: August 01, 2020, 05:13:26 AM
Taking the meaning of *staking* to its nowadays use in crypto universe I think to invest is more interesting as a bitcoin investment is much more worthful than staking in altcoins, which have more risks for a profit that may be inferior to the profit you could make with bitcoin investment.
Seems staking was a smart way developers created to make their altcoins look more interesting to investors' eyes and drive their investments from bitcoin and main altcoins to their new launched currencies. Although I'm critic about staking, I'm curious to try this yet, at least to see how it works for real.
6282  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it possible to live without banks? on: July 31, 2020, 11:52:21 PM
It's nearly impossible for one to live without the bank, but I believe one can do without it, for example in the rural areas/villages 99% of them don't even own a bank account, nor are there any bank building around them, but they go on with their daily lives buying /exchange goods and services, also even in the third tier countries where the employers don't pay thier employees through the bank rather they hand cash to the employees at the end of the month.
Yes, that's what I'm pointing out on this thread and it still exists. There's no right answer into this because it's a preference, some aren't using banks because they're living in rural areas and don't have a huge monthly salary so there's no point in saving it in the bank. While the other, they save it on the bank because they are plenty of it, and we know that it's safe there. But other companies are requiring their employees to use banks for faster transaction.
I'm skeptical about it. How do people living in rural areas could retire and receive their monthly wage without a bank account? How could people from rural areas have access to government's welfare programs without bank accounts?
I think nowadays only very primitive and isolated communities don't have access to banks, but in this case it's a very precarious life and I believe these people don't have a bank account for lack of opportunity and not because they reject this service. It's impossible to live without banks in a confortable way nowadays.
6283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Twitter Hacker Arrested! on: July 31, 2020, 10:41:31 PM
But wasn't bitcoin the perfect criminal's currency because it's untrackable? Cheesy
Another fake news dismounted. I want to see now what media and crypto haters will say about it. Actually the hackers were taken much faster than in some cases which involved fiat instead of bitcoins. It's a clear sign to hackers and another kinds of scammers they aren't safe for using crypto currency!
6284  Economy / Economics / Re: Business / private sector is dead on: July 31, 2020, 08:08:23 PM
I believe that the government is making a very big mistake, not allowing small businesses to work in the face of the decline.
Yes, because it becomes a domino effect. If one person is unable to earn his income he won't have how to spend it, then the next person's income is also compromised as there won't be any customers and then we have the scenario described by OP.
Economy is life. Governments can't forbid people from working justifying health reasons. Without economy besides not having money, people's health will also be in trouble! Governments are thinking too little on short run only.
6285  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin replace Gold someday? on: July 31, 2020, 06:51:44 PM
Gold is existing here for centuries and will be exist for centuries as well so bitcoin is never going to be an alternative to Gold because both have different reasons to exists here.Gold has many utility like storage of value and ornaments whereas bitcoin here for mainly to be uses as currency.
As you said gold is store of value, a very stable investment to keep your wealthy, on the other hand bitcoin is a volatile investment, with higher price fluctuations if compared to gold. Furthermore gold is physical and a precious metal, while bitcoin is virtual and can't be used for anything else than a currency, so gold has more practical usage. Actually it's very hard to compare both, because they are very different and those investing on these two assets may have different objectives regard their money.
6286  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are buying when the price is going up and not when it is down on: July 31, 2020, 06:12:03 AM
Because investors are too much affected by fud news. If they search bitcoin on google news and find many articles saying crypto currency is going to the moon they will get excited to invest and join the trend, but when they see the news are negative they won't invest, as in times like that fud news love spreading crypto currency is a bubble or a ponzi, bitcoin is going to die.

Sometimes you just need to stop listening the common sense to start listening and understanding the facts while seeing the reality.
6287  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should there be any age limit of Gambling? on: July 31, 2020, 04:53:25 AM
Some regulation regards this matter is needed, like everything else in our society to keep it organized.
16 years old should be the age. A person on that age is already an adult and can live accordingly. This individual can drink, drive, work, live and respond by himself and of course he can gamble! Well, at least that should work that way, but I know most countries overprotects its young citizens and treat them as children until the 30 years old, what only creates more insecurity, fear and ADDICTION...

What sort of credit rating do you suppose a 16 year old is going to have and what sort of premiums would they have to pay to get behind the wheel of a car and go out into the world drink driving?  Age limits are there for a reason, and something to look forward to attaining.
What is the difference between a 16 years old and a 18, 21, 23 or 40 years old individual? Maybe experience only, but all of them have the same capacities to know limits, what is right or wrong, what their responsabilities are. So why to treat the 16 years old ones as children?
And I'm not saying someone from any ages should drink driving. They can drink OR drive, not both at same time. Cheesy
6288  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Guns - Why do we need them? on: July 31, 2020, 01:53:05 AM
So, what country are you from? Because Britain, the USA, Canada, Australia, India to a lesser degree, Guyana in South America, and a few other countries have a direct way to stop stupid laws when they get fed up enough. It's the 12-person local jury. But even then, if one takes a government person to court, man-to-man, for harm or damage he caused, he can be made to pay... if the jury believes you.

Most people don't know that they can do this, and how to do it. But it is available to everyone in these countries... if they know the tricks.

Cool
Currently I live in south america. I believe here this kind of jury only applies to a select variety of crimes, those against human life (murder), with exception of guilty crimes. To accuse an authority or a government person is really dangerous if you don't have some media supporting you and putting the case in evidence.

Influence peddling is too strong and these thieves have a lot of lackeys ready to follow their orders.
It's not a democracy at all, especially because you can't have your own gun for a fair price. Smiley

6290  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What bitcoin adoption really is. on: July 30, 2020, 07:10:33 PM
There will be trust in bitcoin only if people invest on it knowing how it works. The issue nowadays is that many adopters hear about bitcoin and invest on it thinking they will get rich in few months and actually what they have in few months is a loss, as it's very usual to see a dump in bitcoin price on short run.
So while adopters misunderstood bitcoin concept, usage and risks there won't be any trust *relationship* built around it. And to revert this situation is only possible through education of bitcoin adopters.
6291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Could this be the best time to invest? on: July 30, 2020, 06:46:00 AM
It depends on your goal. If you can wait to see your investment growing then I would say it's a good time to invest, but if you want fast profit I would recommend that you think a little more about it, because things might not happen as we expect on short run in crypto universe and an impatient investor would get angry on this situation, converting his funds before the right time, with serious risks of having losses.

Watch the market fluctuations, bitcoin is doing pretty well right now, on the other hand altcoins are in a deeper devaluation. You need to take all these factors into consideration before investing.
6292  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: US Presidential Election 2020 on: July 30, 2020, 04:49:54 AM
Why is it so impossible that Bernie can't be VP?

two old white guys, that's why. it has nothing to do with policies or platforms. if you haven't noticed, identity politics are front and center in this election.

biden has already vowed to pick a woman VP, so technically that's why it's impossible. in terms of odds, it's pretty clear by now that it will be a non-white woman. i'll be very surprised if it's anyone besides kamala harris or susan rice.
This kind of mindset from democrats just reinforces Trump's reelection: instead of focusing in a platform that prioritizes jobs, democrats are too busy choosing their candidates based on their races. Come on... Really that they still didn't realize why they keep losing and can't get real people's support?
So many protests against racism and they are the ones who choose candidates according to the skin color.
6293  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Guns - Why do we need them? on: July 30, 2020, 03:29:43 AM
^^^ All that this means is that government authorizes stealing by thieves, and even murder by thieves at times. I bet that if you became real quiet, and sneaked into government offices, you would find that government people are formally and directly authorizing thieves to use guns at times.

Cool
Yes, not only authorizing thieves to have access to guns, but also turning a blind eye to their drugs deals and so on...
All the kinds of disgusting practices, injustice and crimes only exist because authorities allow them to happen.
Sadly only very few people are disposed to fight this hypocritical and corrupt system. Most people are coward or corrupt and daydream about reaching a higher status on this putrid system to make its eternal maintenance.
6294  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Guns - Why do we need them? on: July 30, 2020, 02:28:02 AM
Guns are meant to protect the people for the bad people. Gun control need to be implementing seriously. There are people that own guns without any further license and just buy it illegally. Innocent people have affected because of incorrect used of fire arms. The person handling a gun might also ruin his life unintentionally just because of being angry and not able to control himself. So it’s very essential to know the mental status of the person handling a gun. Licensing a gun(s) to proper person is very important.
Read my post above. There is a very strict gun control policy in my country, what seems to just increase the criminality. Why? Because thieves know innocent people don't have a gun to protect themselves, as the government makes the license process very expensive and complicated.
So these thieves do the crimes they want with the confidence they won't be stopped by their unarmed victims.

I agree not everyone can have a gun, in cases which the person has mental issues, for an example. But it can't be used as an excuse to difficult the whole process for other people.

6296  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is your Biggest Crypto Regret? on: July 29, 2020, 01:45:29 AM
My biggest regret is ignoring the crypto news in 2010, I didn't believe crypto at the time but when I heard that the price of bitcoin was getting more expensive in 2017, I started to hunt and buy some
It's true. Sometimes I start thinking about what I was doing in 2008-2011 and then I realize I heared *bitcoin something* on that time but just ignored...
In 2010 it was possible to claim 5 bitcoins for just one visit at a faucet for free, but I just ignored that. It's a very bitter feeling, isn't it?
However we shouldn't regret for what we haven't done. We should be thankful to be here right now enjoying the opportunities that appear to us while hoping and expecting the best is yet to come.
6297  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Guns - Why do we need them? on: July 29, 2020, 12:35:20 AM
I live in an area where it's very expensive to afford a gun. It's so expensive that it becomes near to forbidden. Of course, it's on purpose...
Besides not having guns, ironically the police forces are reduced and unable to patrol the whole territorial area with efficiency.

Result: rape, theft, murder, kidnaping in high proportions (if compared to the local population number).
But for the brainwashed people it's still better than letting people have a gun to protect themselves and their families.
I feel shocked to see there are still people against guns. Maybe these people live in the rainbow land?

6299  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin touch $15K till end of 2020? on: July 28, 2020, 06:06:38 PM
Lol, and what reason could pump bitcoin to 15k till the end of 2020? We see a fast pump to 10k probably caused by traders taking their altcoins profits back to bitcoin and it's already enough to say it's going to hit 15k?
I think that is not how it works. Bitcoin predictions can't even take past fluctuations as examples because the factors impacting the economy and crypto market now are different from those which impact it in 2017 for an example. I believe we can hit 15k, of course, but there must be a good reason for that first! So far there is nothing more than enthusiasts' faith!
6300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So many scam giveaways is it because Bitcoin is moving up on: July 28, 2020, 04:19:29 AM
Do people notice that these scam giveaways are just happening this year after the halving and many social media hacks are happening
are all these planned because people are tempted to give in and fall in this scam giveaways because of the big bonus
Bitcoin is now moving up and so many social media of popular people are hacked, is this coincidence or planned.
Seems just coincidence. There are a lot of scams in crypto universe since many years ago, it's part of the attractive crypto nature: it attracts investors, investments, a lot of money, but it also attracts scammers.
What can change is the scammers' approach, as the methods used by them become dried really fast, so they have to be changing it very frequently. It can be the reason why you are seeing more scams related to giveaways nowadays, but once it gets noticed they will surely move to another tactic.
