It is no coincidence that the first 'great war' - the 'war to end all wars' - WWI - happened shortly after the creation of the federal reserve. Yes. They could never have financed it without central banks inflating currency. This is about taking them to task and making government accountable to the people again. People need to take control of their country. For those of you that are 'Mericans: slavery was legal, women had no right to vote, raping your wife was legal, blacks were less than human as recently as 60 years ago, children had no rights and could be abused and beaten without punishing the abuser, in fact, about the only people that had rights were white male adults. It will take entirely too long for Bitcoin to even come close to becoming the national currency of 'merica. Changes need to happen a lot faster than that. I am frankly not sure what the answer is. The electoral process has broken down and become a joke. Neither party is really a party of the people and frankly Americans are too busy watching reality tv to do much thinking any way. I am choosing to opt out of the system by divesting myself as much as I can from fiat currency and avoiding sending more money to the beast as much as I can while keeping my relative freedom That may be all that can be done at this point. Change is always in the hands of the people but the people have to see the need. As long as US citizens are willing to sit back and do nothing then nothing will change. I see that as the reason Bitcoin adoption isn't moving faster than it is. Young well educated citizens are calling for passive revolution and not enough people are listening. Also fear plays a big part in financing the government. If we all decided to not file taxes next year do you believe they could put us all in jail? It just takes a movement to gather support for that to happen. Unfortunately, Americans are soft, afraid and we have no tangible cause that the reality tv watchers understand enough to support. We are the 99%. 99% chicken shit that is. lol |

Want to stop a war? Overthrow a dictator? Topple a government? Convince the people it needs to happen. Exactly. It is easy to go to war when it is other people's money you are spending. Ok, here's one. What if a country, any country no matter how small, actually started using Bitcoin as it's national currency?
Would the blockchain implode into a black hole from the massive amount of additional transactions?
Would that country buy massive mining farms from BFL to secure its new currency?
Would BFL make the country preorder the equipment and finally deliver it after the countries government is overthrown making the order useless?
Would the country organize a 51% attack on the blockchain to overthrow all of the worlds governments at once?
How many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsiebitcoin?

So, in theory, I could transfer $126,000,000 for $2 and get it in one day.
with bitcoin, you can transfert 1 000 000 of BTC in 1 hours to the bottom of the bresil ... for 0,002 BTC  it's not the theory. it's that, bitcoin. the network job. If I had a hundred million dollars I don't think I would worry about them charging me the cost of a two liter bottle of soda for the transfer because they can be held accountable for the transfer and it's insured. The last one business day (8 hour) guaranteed transfer I did cleared the bank in about 1.5 hours. Same-same. |

I'm just pointing out its amazing that we can move vasts amounts of money without any paperwork, to anybody in the world for no costs. If that doesn't convince skeptics then nothing will.
You're right, Bitcoin is great for the little guy to move money for free low cost. Large amounts are moved between branches and banks for free all the time. Think about it a minute, are they going to charge themselves for the move?  My bank even lets me transfer between different accounts at different banks without a fee. My bank may charge a fee for faster service but my credit union offers 3-business-day transfers for free. One day costs $2. So, in theory, I could transfer $126,000,000 for $2 and get it in one day. |

I do know that BTC Guild itself saw nowhere near that amount, but someone made/transferred a lot of money today. I hope they don´t spend it all in one place.  tx fee: 0.17833101 translation $114 to move $126million, western union, banks, paypal... try beating that! Unbelievable really, being able to move $126million for 0.. I'd be interested to see how much a bank would charge to do that, and what paperwork would need to be filled in. We employ 2.2 million associates around the world — 1.3 million in the U.S. alone. We need to push Walmart to start accepting Gyft again. That would be good too but I'd like them to just take Bitcoin directly. I wouldn't buy anything there with Bitcoin because all their products are Chinese shit but can you imagine how much our investment would appreciate overnight! |

Russia has a news organization that they do not show to their citizens, only to people in foreign countries.
