Keep in mind that

a) pirate won't cash out when he defaults, unless he has shills inside mtgox (oh well considering craziness of recent events that even might be a possibility)

b) the hypothetical cash out values aren't that different if done at once because of slippage.
So 240K would give 1.67 mil USD and 400K just 1.91 mil USD.

+1

I hate all that premine trolling. The premining is public knowledge, Dont' like premining? Then stay away form the coin, and move on in life.

I did that, but I think it's fair to tell it to people if you aren't sure they know it already.
6304  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Liberty Reserve Trading with Maria [NO TROLLS ALLOWED] on: August 07, 2012, 12:41:56 PM
So have you made a fortune yet, officialsavage?

6308  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is the next big thing in Bitcoin services? on: August 07, 2012, 07:09:46 AM
So like a service that you would pay bitcoin to and they would issue you your usps stamp or ups shipping label?
What I'm thinking of is a network where anyone with a bike, car, van, truck etc can sign up, get a message when a delivery comes up in their area, accept it and make a few b's. A trustworthy network would take time to build up so a simple 'deliver it now' service using UPS, postal services etc. would probably be the only way to get started. Eventually it could build up to a service as anonymous as bitcoin, no names or addresses necessary, just GPS co-ords and times with verification on delivery.

This would be pretty awesome.  I think this idea needs a whole lot of development, but could be one of the coolest services bitcoin could offer.

It already IS under development, it's called bitdrop

Look like still in the brainstorming phase.

Do you write the code?
6309  Economy / Speculation / Re: RALLY! on: August 07, 2012, 07:00:37 AM
You might compress the timescales or not. I admit this is kind of convenient from a prediction standpoint because it gives 2 different results.
Also I am not proudhon Wink
6310  Economy / Speculation / Re: RALLY! on: August 06, 2012, 10:21:54 PM
You're going to be waiting for looooooooooong time.

Care to give me an over/under on that? I'm curious.
something similar probably...

6311  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What is the next big thing in Bitcoin services? on: August 06, 2012, 06:12:41 PM
What will be coming
  • more insured pirate passthroughs
  • more mining bonds
  • more leveraged "payment processing" (btcpay style)
  • more exchange/speculation services

not any of:
  • e-commerce software
  • download services
  • porn sites
  • production of any kind

I know that's sad  Sad

as long as bitcoins daily volume is below walmarts daily gross profits, there's more important stuff than a farm!

It's the other way around.

I'll be back in a decade to laugh about your statement.
6314  Economy / Speculation / Re: [Daily Speculation Poll] :: how high on: August 05, 2012, 11:17:22 PM
adam please lock up this thread for the mental well being of this board

6315  Economy / Speculation / Re: Alright, we roughly doubled before the block reward adjustment. on: August 05, 2012, 11:12:13 PM
Bulls, you have it, we roughly doubled since we had a stable price for a few months now. I can follow the argument that the halving of the block reward would double the price.

We are there now, explain to me, why should we go further up?
No arguments about market irrationality, bubbles and so on, just pure fundamental base price.

Why does it matter why it went up or down? It's just speculation. Look it up in the dictionary.

LOL
6316  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ixcoin.org back online on: August 05, 2012, 09:11:14 PM
Hey, I have just started to happily mine IxC alongside btc, nmc, and dev coins. Is anyone still alive? The client works...

Betcha Nasakioto still has the private keys for his premine.

A human body is about equivalent to a 100 watt light bulb in terms of the heat it produces. So what happens to all this energy when you die if you cant destroy it ?

It goes to power the matrix!  Cheesy

Human powered bitcoin mining  Cheesy

Actually that was about Inedia. Or the energetic equivalent of it.
Yes that film was way more fucked up than most people realize.

Just wait, pretty soon they gonna air them "live" on TV.

SORRY if you don't get it or I haven't been sarcastic enough.

What do you have in mind?
6320  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Bitcoin Economy Needs a Farm on: August 05, 2012, 07:49:41 PM
Give it time Wink

Profound things like that aren't done overnight and require lots of people to support it. Over time people will come to the same conclusions we had in this thread over and over again, and once there is critical mass it will manifest in multiple places around the world at once.  Cool
