6322  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Solo Mining with old outdated equipment? on: November 01, 2014, 07:55:47 PM
I paid for one of those $5k machines in November of last year, it still hasn't arrived and has been obsolete for months now even if it does get shipped.

That's the thing. It would probably pay back, maybe even make a profit IF it arrived when it was supposed to. After reading all the stories of 6+ months late delivery, that hashing power just lost 70% value. Unfortunate truth Undecided

Maybe? I'm out at least 25 BTC if that's all that I had mined @ 2Th/s since late February.

Use free energy to power your miner before "they" block out the sun, I found 4.8kW for under $45 on ebay for eg.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/70W-40PCS-3x6-solar-cells-kit-DIY-solar-panel-tabbing-bus-wire-flux-pen-/281055368126?tfrom=350715712623&tpos=top&ttype=price&talgo=undefined

I've been advised to wire straight 12V for everything.

I think those DIY cells are 70W in total, for 45$. (40 pieces of 1.8 Watt peak cells.) Would be fun though to connect all of them manually.

Mining solo is good when you are hipster, masochist or dumb person. Mining with outdated equipment is like being extremely retarded and stupid. If you want to mine purchase some high end ASIC or buy some cloud mining contract and you will be fine.

Because those pay back well...
I think this thread is more for hobbyists than for profit-seeking people who want to invest 5000$ in a single piece of equipment.

Perhaps you're correct the price does seem suspiciously low, I just saw 70W and timesd it by 40 lol. In any case I've been told the DIY solar kits can be cost effective.

I've happened upon a new phenomenon, I call it transplanetism and it stems from the transformation of a planet into a machine. Much like transhumanism in which man is transformed into superman via nano-technology and artificial intelligence.

6328  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: XBTec Announce. New ASIC manufacturer. on: October 31, 2014, 01:21:18 AM
So XBTec shipped product in a reasonable time frame as per the agreed upon price?

I would tend to believe that Black Arrow did in fact sell my e-mail as a potential future mining hardware buyer to XBTec. Good work on distancing yourself from that scam company and actually delivering hardware guys.

This of course assumes that you guys aren't secretly BA trying to re-build a reputable company to pull off their next big scam. I'll give you the benifit of the doubt however.  Grin
6329  Other / Off-topic / Re: I know there is no such thing as 'free energy' but what if it was possible? on: October 31, 2014, 12:31:53 AM
Every so-called "new energy" or "free energy" company/non-profit organization is a guaranteed scam. Even the established companies with established technologies are corrupt look at Enron.
6330  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: October 30, 2014, 03:41:15 AM
I don't believe for a second that piles of the fastest 28nm Bitcoin ASIC ever made sat around collecting dust until they're worthless.
6331  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: October 30, 2014, 02:24:18 AM
My definition of a scam company is one that takes money from customers by deceiving them then, fails to provide anything of value in return.

Black Arrow's own contradictory words proves they are liars and covers the deception angle. I've received nothing of value in return for the money I paid almost a year ago, so there you go.

We have a proven scam company actively soliciting a million dollars+ from potential investors for vapour-ware miners made from Samsung wont give you 14nm in a month from now you fucking clowns ASICs.

Not to mention violating every consumer protection law in the book, mail fraud and tax evasion on the $90,000 in coins they mined.

To any potential investor I can guarantee they're going to be so in your face with the tens if not more millions of dollars they'll make off your investment while giving absolutely nothing in return for your cool mil. In-fact I wouldn't be surprised if they've even figured out a way to leave you with a bill to pay when all is said and done, you know just for that little extra bit of spite.
6332  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Solo Mining with old outdated equipment? on: October 29, 2014, 01:07:56 AM
Thanks for giving me the heads up guys! Silly me, I could have wasted time and money on this but now thanks to your valuable input I will save money.

4. This company is a scam, a fake, a fraud. Whoever it is that stamps the piece of paper that makes Black Arrow a company needs to grab the one with the red ink labelled denied.
6336  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: October 27, 2014, 12:44:24 PM
rhetorical question: how is it possible that other companies (e.g. bitcrane.com) managed it to get working boards with these HF chips and sell them to customers?

I'm guessing that it's the same way TechnoBit was able to make working boards with Black Arrow chips for sale in a under a month while almost a year after I paid for my order I still have nothing, refunds refused. I should note that TB royally screwed the BA customers who took in chips in exchange for their miners but hey at least they got some hardware eventually.
6337  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Black Arrow 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $0.49/GH/s on: October 27, 2014, 12:30:21 PM
I think the blame should fall equally on Nemesis for this, without Russian technical assistance they would not have got the quantity of orders they did. Those not-in-stock Bitfury boards were the lure to the site for me trying to buy them. Funny how they're all in-stock (used) now for cheap eh.

This asshole aka Alexey Andreev. is literally the only person at Black Arrow I've ever been able to talk to, but basically all he does is troll and threaten you.

FTFY

"Customer Support Director"

He's a director.

This guy is a real piece of work, it'd be absolutely hilarious dealing with this guy if this weren't such a financially tragic situation. He's the most inveterate con-artist you can imagine, when he actually responds to you, he learns how to talk to you based on the words and phrases you introduce to the situation yourself. He will literally say absolutely anything he needs to say to get you to accept this bullshit, including but not limited to threats and intimidation.

yep another moron that thinks he's a genius.  he also designed the cases for these I think, which I also think were supposed to be plastic.

I seem to remember they had issues getting those and ended up with metal cases, which was lucky since these pieces of crap started on fire.  then that same idiot was talking about how the cases were designed to prevent fire from getting outside of them or some such silly shit

that went from a truly stupid design, to a delay, to a lucky break and from what I remember he was acting like hot shit for designing them in that way when in reality it was a total fuck-up.

none of these people seem to have a damn clue that they are unqualified morons.  they all think they're super geniuses when you'd think even they'd be smart enough to see they have fucked this up in every possible way.

I suspect everything has gone according to plan and they're sitting on a really fat bitcoin wallet full of mined coins.

I'm sure the mad scientists will eventually figure out how to use helium 3 but until then we have solar cells and magnetic driven wind turbines?
6340  Other / Off-topic / Re: I know there is no such thing as 'free energy' but what if it was possible? on: October 27, 2014, 12:19:34 AM

...

I understand the math that makes the pnp, or npn junctions possible in your cpu, but this math is wrong?  Roll Eyes

...

I have an MSc in applied physics with emphasis in solid state.

You?

Based on your knowledge would you say that most modern pnp and npn junctions exploit the field effect to perform their switching functions?
