6341  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW ZenCloud ZenPool Hashlet - does it really exist? ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :-) on: September 04, 2014, 05:33:22 AM

Despite some loud individuals around here I think most rational observers were mainly concerned with the lack of transparency than it being an outright fraud.

I think what's becoming clear now is that GAW's own presentation/marketing of the hashlet has changed significantly from when it was first announced. Instead of "proprietary hardware" we now have "virtual software", no outside pools, no more ZenPool stats, no more guaranteed profitability or ROI. There is a chance or at least a hope than one or more similar shifts will occur in the future and eventually we will have a true picture of what it really is. Right now, as has already been mentioned, there isn't much to speculate on anymore without any new information.

I agree, there's a total lack of transparency. But since I haven't been following this thoroughly, would you mind mentioning where you saw something that makes you believe they now say it's just virtual software? I believe that they're still putting efforts to make people believe this is real. And actually, they claim to be using outside pools, at least they give people the ability to choose between pre-existing pools other than zenpool.

Let's hope "they" will not ban the .. ASICs !!  Wink

Anyway these are poor and less effective measures against global warming.

Bitcoin mining is not done in a large scale, I guess we will never have a big percentage of the households to run a miner themselves. What is mentioned in the OP obviously affects everyday use devices that are used by every household.
6344  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Selling .2 i need paypal on: September 03, 2014, 08:55:44 PM
his rates are crazy no thanks

His rates are not crazy considering the risk he's taking... You aren't going to find any rates close to the current price if you're dealing with paypal.

30 satoshi at cryptsy

The buy orders at 30 are tiny and are being fulfilled imminently. It's interesting to see that people are willing to buy at that price though, let's hope that this is the sign for an upcoming rise.

Change white images Smiley, you can do it.

What are you talking about?
6347  Other / Politics & Society / Re: EU Looks to Ban Toasters, Kettles and Hair Dryers to Stem Global Warming on: September 02, 2014, 05:47:44 PM
A simple step can stop all this BS. Replace carbon-di-oxide emitting thermal power plants with nuclear power plants. This can reduce a lot of greenhouse gas emissions. Also, wind-power and solar-power are good options.

As someone who lives in Greece, I know that Nuclear power is not used for electricity here. The only reactor we have is for experimental purposes. Apparently it was decided by our politicians that due to the earthquake activity and the small size of the country we we couldn't benefit enough from nuclear power. We were still buying energy created from nuclear plants in Bulgaria some years ago though.
6348  Other / Meta / Re: Deleting the avatar on: September 02, 2014, 03:41:28 AM
Having an avatar (among other things) adds value to your account. I've seen worse avatars than yours, take mine for instance. I put it on for a giveaway of an experimental coin that died days aftr it's launch. I didn't even receive the coins... Weeks after I logged in just to see that I couldn't change it anymore. But it's still not that bad since most people don't even know what it is about and asume it's something generic.
6349  Other / Politics & Society / Re: EU Looks to Ban Toasters, Kettles and Hair Dryers to Stem Global Warming on: September 02, 2014, 03:25:00 AM
I don't find energy efficiency to be bad. If the wattage of a device is lowered by x times this doesn't necessarily mean that the device will have to me used x more times to achieve the same results. In my oppinion, companies manufacturing those products haven't been putting much effort on making them efficient and I can't say that it's bad that there's now something that might change that. And so far I can say that there has been a pretty good job done with efficiency ratings. Here's the label for washing machines for example.
6350  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin adoption leads to Bitcoin price erosion? on: September 02, 2014, 01:42:54 AM
That's not how it works. Payment solution providers like BitPay and Coinbase have their ways for not crashing the markets. Even though both receive huge volumes of transactions the internal exchanging keeps the price almost unaffected.
6351  Other / Politics & Society / Re: EU Looks to Ban Toasters, Kettles and Hair Dryers to Stem Global Warming on: September 02, 2014, 01:21:12 AM
Just because someone in Brussels  brought this up as an idea doesn't mean that everyone here in Europe is nuts. If you think about it, it's not that of a bad idea. The biggest electronic device you have at your home is most likely your oven. It uses around 5000 watts, isn't it weird that a hand held device like a hair dryer consumes half of that? That's inefficiency at it's best. The previous campaign to push incandescent light bulbs out of the market and replace them with energy saving ones was succesfull and no one was affected by it in a negative way. I can't see why you find this proposal to be unreasonable.
6352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Average Joe thinks about Bitcoin on: September 02, 2014, 12:29:29 AM
I remember when some companies refused to have web sites because they didn't want to be associated to porn sites, places that stole credit card number, and web sites with dancing bear gifs.

What? I guess that haven't been in the intrnet from back then but this sounds just weird. People are not willing to take risks, maybe a payment system that offers what bitcoin does sounds too good to be true for them.
I don't think it was many companies that were like this but it was somewhat of an issue in the early 90's when the internet was just starting to be used by the public.

Bitcoin used to be associated with a lot of bad things just like the internet was but is becoming less so.

The internet is still related to bad things and most likely it will always be. But still billions of people use it daily, not all of them are marked as criminals. If bitcoin manages to get even bigger, I guess that those dark things it's being used for will just be a small portion of daily transactions. Because As long as there's neutrality and both bitcoin and the internet have this in common, there are going to be both great and bad things but it won't matter if it reaches mainstream use.

And again, no PC release at launch. Are gaming companier really that afraid of hackers, or could it be that they received funds from Microsoft and Sony for a colsole exclusve launch?

Gr8 B8 M8

No seriously, do you believe that a company that can't even secure their cloud storage services (I'm looking at you iCloud) that are by default used by all of their devices is going to compete with bitcoin?
6356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Poll] What anonymous coin will succed? on: September 01, 2014, 09:59:53 PM

DRK = closed source DarkSend

BCN = massive premine with a side order of deception

For me Monero is the winner.

Monero is based on cryptonote, nothing unique. Bytecoin was the first coin to be released usng this technology. I guess you're currently holding monero.
6357  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How is a newbie to get a bitcoin? on: September 01, 2014, 09:57:03 PM

Hold? I don't think you can claim the faucet on PD when you have a positive account balance.
Also, isn't the faucet starts at 500 sat a minute for level 1?

Yup, you'd have to hit a crazy multiplyier in order to be able to withdraw. Stunna gets the faucet rewards higher only during happy hour but that doesn't happen all tha ften.
6358  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW ZenCloud ZenPool Hashlet - does it really exist? ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :-) on: September 01, 2014, 09:52:35 PM

There might be people doing it intentionally, I simply have 3 accounts for different reasons. I think they only send the free ones to accounts that have made purchases. This keeps the risk low as money came in to allow for payouts.

So you're implying they're basically running a ponzi sceme? Well, I was worried about that as well and I'm surely not the only one in this topic to do so.
6359  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: GAW ZenCloud ZenPool Hashlet - does it really exist? ALWAYS MAKE MONEY :-) on: September 01, 2014, 09:22:40 PM
How in the world are y'all getting multiple hashlets? I got a single wafflet.

Multiple accounts. I also got 2 free furies when gaw bought zen
Don't you think they're going to fix this in the future? This could bring gaw into a dificult position with payouts if many people were doing it.
6360  Other / Meta / Re: how to get my BTT account back , it was stolen today.... on: September 01, 2014, 05:47:48 AM
You also just proved your self a spammer...  Roll Eyes Also how did someone manage to steal all your 9 accounts?
I think many people have more than one even ten accounts , it's normal, some ppl are raising and selling accounts in trading threads.
I don't know how the thief stole my 9 accounts at the same time ...I am trying to figure it out.....the passwords of these accounts is not so complicated before they were stolen.

Probably your computer is infected or someone has direct access to your sensitive information. Don't login into any serious accounts now.
