6361  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online gambling becomes popular on: June 08, 2021, 05:13:45 PM
There are also countries where online gambling is not allowed, and the strange thing about it is that you can then return to a casino. USA is a good example of this. Online gambling has gained a lot of popularity, and billions are spent on it every day I think. You also see more and more casinos weekly on the forum. The covid pandemic also affected the online gambling for sure.
But there are still people who gambles online from those countries that have banned online gambling. The government cannot stop those people from doing it.

They may have that law but there's still the gamblers that do it even if they're aware of the rule.
That's right. People can easily access the gambling site, and if their ISP blocked the access to visit the gambling site, they could use VPN and directly visit and play gambling on that site. The government and the ISP can only block the access temporarily, but they can not block it forever because people will find a way to still playing gambling. When the land-based casino is still close in their country, they can use online gambling sites to gamble. Maybe that is why many new online casino launches in this pandemic because the profit can be bigger.
Not only that, at least even though there are countries that prohibit online gambling, the fact is that the online gambling industry continues to grow. Therefore, at least it can be concluded that the development of online gambling will not be hampered just because there are conflicts out there and as you have said, anyone who wants to gamble online will still be able to access it even though there are restrictions imposed in their country.
That will not be easy to stop the growth of the gambling industry, whether offline or online casino, as we know that people behind the casino got a strong backup from people who have the power to protect them from running their business. This pandemic brings a new chance for online gambling to grow faster and bigger than before because people often playing gambling will visit their site easily. They will be regular members who always play gambling online, which can make many people addicted to gambling.
6362  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Covid-19 carrying the growth in digital currencies? on: June 08, 2021, 04:38:39 PM
Even before this pandemic happened, digital payments are already popular here however it doesnt mean crypto is the first option for this. Online bank applications, paypal and other platforms are some of the preferred option when making a transactions online.

Crypto get the attention of many people during pandemic not as an alternative for digital payments but rather an investment opportunity wherein we can earn money due to volatility. Its a fact that crypto or btc specifically are best known as an investment, an speculative asset which can give investors huge gains when the market is bullish.
right, cryptocurrencies are becoming more popular because of the bulls. especially when it happened while the pandemic was still ongoing. this may have something to do with the pandemic and the bullrun, considering that many people want to make money while staying at home
If bitcoin can get a bull run, it can get more attention from people and see that bitcoin can be their new investment besides gold. It can attract them to start investing in bitcoin so they can take benefits from bitcoin. What happens to bitcoin in the last ATH makes many people open their eyes that bitcoin can reach that high price. But bitcoin is not yet become a new payment system because that will be related to government approval. But in the future, bitcoin and the other coin can be the next digital payment system.
Even if you see until now it seems that more and more people are investing in cryptocurrencies, especially bitcoin,
especially seeing the price of bitcoin from year to year is increasing, of course this makes many people interested in investing,
I really hope bitcoin can soon become a legal payment system even though it's not easy
People should wait for a while as the bitcoin price now is down. If they can buy bitcoin at a low price, that will be good for them as they only need to hold it until the price increase again. We hope that someday, the government can allow bitcoin to be used as a legal payment instead of using fiat, credit card, or debit card to have more options to pay. But if that really needs a long time before the government accepts bitcoin, people can still use bitcoin for the investment, which can be profitable for them in making money.
6363  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you limit your gambling time? on: June 08, 2021, 03:37:39 PM
many times simply "being disciplined" is easier said than done.

to limit the access to addicting behavior probably two usefull ways are:
- using and alarm or timer (so you set a right time to do the acitivity)
- limiting bankroll available

do you see other possibilities?

I don't really think what you've mentioned are effective.

I mean, gamblers will always be excited to play gamble every single day, and waiting would not help especially if they have nothing to do anymore, so why bother waiting. Also, limiting their bankroll is imposible as well, especially if they are winning too much, which next move will be betting too much and losing too much, that leads to playing the whole day chasing the losses.
Limiting the money can help them limit their time to playing gambling because when their limit money is almost reached, they will see that the time to stop is closer, so they need to stop it right away. But that will depend on how good they can control themselves to follow the limit that they already used because if they add more money, that will not work and they can continue playing gambling. That can lead them to get more losses, and once they lose, they will try to recover it.

That'll be only effective if they can stop themselves on being greedy and frustrated about their losses, because if not, then they will always find themselves depositing more just to won back what they have lost. It's a loop where they will be trap and will get addicted to gambling even more if they can't control their feelings towards on what will happen.

Limiting the amount of money they will use in gambling is effective and will be always effective if and only if they know what to do once they hit their limit. Self-discipline and emotionally prepared is a must to withstand any frustration and greed.
I do not think they can stop being greedy and frustrated easily because once they lose, their passion will be bigger and they want to play more to recover the losses. If they decide to deposit more money, I am afraid that will make them have another loss, making them more frustrated. If they can control their emotion and remember that is what they will get from gambling, they will stop as soon as possible before they lose more money.

That feeling will become bigger if they are already addicted to gambling and won't stop them from using more money. Limiting the money and having control will be important to a gambler, and we need to remember that.
6364  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ohio offering lottery prize worth one million for those that get the COVID shot on: June 08, 2021, 02:35:44 PM
So maybe sooner or later, the other states will use the same way to attract their people to vaccinated and if that can succeeds, we can see that most people will get the vaccine while they can also have a chance to win the lottery. The scholarships also help students have full funds for their school and do not have to think about how they will pay for their study. If many people want to get the vaccine, that will boost the rate of people who can prevent the virus attack and sooner or later, it could reduce the number of infected people in that country.

Almost all the states have now announced lotteries for those who have been administered vaccine doses. The California lottery is having a lower prize range ($50,000), but it has more number of winners. The first set of 15 winners were announced yesterday. The state of Washington has also announced a lottery, with a first prize of $1 million and second prize of $250,000 (for 4 people). Colorado is another state which has announced a top prize of $1 million for the winners. Incidentally all these states are run by the Democrats.
That is good news. At least, congratulations to people who win those lotteries, and maybe that can attract the attention of other people who do not vaccinate to follow their step to vaccinate. If that happens, then the number of vaccinated people will increase and get more protection from the vaccine. Maybe it will be better to give that money to all people who are already vaccinated because I think that money is really worth it for those who do not have an income.
6365  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Prayer and gambling. on: June 08, 2021, 01:34:48 PM
Well that is a very good habit that you are thanking GOD. because people only tend to complain to god but never thank them when they achieve some thing. But yes you can not pray the god for a win in gambling  Tongue
Yes, because I feel that GOD always helps me anytime, especially if I have trouble or a problem. I can not stand until now if GOD does not care for me. Only thanks to GOD that I can do to feel grateful. I do not have to pray the GOD for a win in gambling Grin

That's a better approach, better always be thankful for basically anything that happens, also because anything can happen! Therefore, yes, keep praying if you really have to but don't forget that the outcomes of your bet are prayers-independent.
"Sometimes, GOD will allow us to win, but the other time, we will lose" that's delusional, sorry Wink
I will still pray in any condition and situation. I do not think much about winning or losing in gambling because that will consider the luck that I can not predict. At least, praying in any situation will help me have patience and calm down and help me think.

6367  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Signals in crypto on: June 08, 2021, 11:07:32 AM
It's a waste of time because there is a really high impossibility that the signal provided isn't going to be right plus most of them will probably just take your money and not give anything to you in benefit.
Agree with this because I have those experience before. That makes me lose some money, although not much. But still, that is a loss that I must take by using their signal. So now, I prefer to analyze by myself, and if I read about the signal from other people, I will not just use it but I will analyze more to find if that signal really works. Without analysis, we can not know when we can buy or sell, making us buy or sell at the wrong time. Moreover, if we do that repeatedly, we will lose more money and stress about that.
6368  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Elon going to sell his BTCs? on: June 08, 2021, 10:16:38 AM
Of course, Elon Musk is a big hodler and is waiting for the next round. I am sure that he is buying huge amounts of bitcoin now after this big drop and filling his wallet with bitcoin to sell it later after the rise.
Elon Musk has lost his credibility and it has become clear that he wants to manipulate everyone, he is a trader in the end and he does not care about Bitcoin or anything else, but rather he cares about filling his pocket with money in any dirty way.
He will buy more bitcoin secretly without anyone knows but he will announce it later, just to make sure that people follow what he said. Maybe Elon lost his credibility right now, but we know that he still has more power to move people to follow his tweet. We can not underestimate his power, especially after we saw it before. But we do not have to follow him because he can not always right about what he said, so we need to analyze first before we do something. That is the best thing that we can do.
6369  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will we ever see $10k per BTC? on: June 07, 2021, 04:42:48 PM
IMO, the bitcoin price will probably continue to grow from now on. maybe $10k is still so close, and still has a lot of potentials to dump down to that price. however, I think for the moment, the bitcoin price is probably more in the direction of price development than down. Well, we can see that the bitcoin price has dumped and is in the $35k range, but it's still quite expensive for bitcoin. however, for the next 1 or 2 years, we probably won't see the bitcoin price in the $10k range.
I hope that prediction will not happen. I can not imagine what will happen to people, especially new people who do not have much experience with bitcoin. They will panic and I am afraid that will be mass panic and mass selling from those people. But if the price still goes down, I hope the price will not go down below $30k and slowly recover and lift the price. This time, we see the sideway moment from bitcoin because the price is not up and down too much, but I think we need to be prepared for anything.
6370  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Elon going to sell his BTCs? on: June 07, 2021, 03:49:56 PM
I do not think Elon will sell his bitcoin if he really knows the benefits of bitcoin in the future. Maybe he will buy back more bitcoin, especially at this time and next time when the price is down, because he wants to make a profit in the future. He does not have to sell his bitcoin because he already makes a big profit from his other business, so why he should sell his bitcoin if he can hold it for the long term? But we do not know his plan with his bitcoin, and we can only predict what he will do later.
6371  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Signals in crypto on: June 07, 2021, 02:45:13 PM
It is not easy to recognize the right coin, but maybe you can check the top 50-100 coins list at Coinmarketcap or Coingecko. You need to search one by one from that list to find the right coins to buy or invest. Usually, people will select one or more coins from the top 10-25 coins list, but sometimes, they can find the coin from the top 50 coins. You can invest in bitcoin, ethereum, bnb as those coins now become popular than the other coins.

The time to sell will depend upon you because only you will know when you want to take profit. In this matter, I suggest you can control your greed because many people delay their time to sell and still hold the coins because they want bigger profit.
6372  Other / Archival / Re: Is a demo account necessary for a beginner trader? on: June 07, 2021, 01:46:22 PM
A demo account will not be a problem for a beginner trader because that can help them know what trading is and learn about the command to trade. If they can learn more from many sources, they can learn directly from the demo account to know how to trade and when they use the real account in the exchange, they will have more chances to make a profit. It can help them to try many strategies to trade before they use their own money to trade. If they can improve their skills in the demo account, they can prevent the loss because they can improve their strategy with the current situations in the market.
6373  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bearish movement on the way? on: June 07, 2021, 12:12:42 PM
The situation now is different and even if you found the "almost" same pattern in 2018, that can be different and hopefully, the bearish will not come. And if the bearish trend still comes, hopefully, that will not go down too deep because that can make a mass panic, especially if the price is down below $30k.

We can just prepare and wait for what will happen later, so I hope that even the price is down for a little, the price will increase back and break $36k. It seems the price can not break $36k-$37k.
6374  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online gambling becomes popular on: June 07, 2021, 11:10:36 AM
The rules for masks are already different all over the world. I am pretty sure there are many casions on land that allow gambling without mask with no issues whatsoever. Whether they require vaccines or testing, I don't know. Anyway, the casino scene on land won't be as frequented I could imagine. People are now familiar with the whole online industry and found that it's chilling to just play from home.

The online industry is still set to grow, but the Coronavirus definitely lifted it onto another level.
If their government is concerned with their people's health, they will still suggest people wear masks, especially if they are in the crowd or the land-based casino. Yes, they can be vaccinated before, but wear a mask prevents getting infected by other people because I see that when we are in a crowd, we can forget to use social distancing. And if we do not know the virus carrier, we can still be infected by them, so it will be better to prevent and be careful in this case. But many casinos still not reopen their business which leads the online casino to become popular than before. Besides that, the online casino will be safe from the Coronavirus.
6375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Prayer and gambling. on: June 07, 2021, 10:40:28 AM
Whenever I win or succeed in anything tho, I always say 'Thank you God' even though I didn't even pray for that specific thing and worked really hard to achieve it.  Cheesy
That is what we will say if we can achieve a good result. But we might say, "Oh, damn, it should not happen to me Grin

Praying can give a positive feeling to someone and that increase confidence. But gambling is at a grey side of our life, so when we pray, we ask GOD help to help us win the game. Sometimes, GOD will allow us to win, but the other time, we will lose. We can let people pray or do whatever they like to win the games.
6376  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Man lost £20,000 in one night after becoming addicted to online gambling! on: June 07, 2021, 09:34:34 AM
To someone who has no control over his actions, this is bound to happen. The guy has no one to blame for this misfortune other than himself. Because it's impossible that in the instances that he's betting, he's not at least getting a win or two. Which he could've capitalized on instead of wagering it and literally throwing it down the drain.
He should blame himself for doing that thing and make him lose too big money. But that if he realizes of what he already did before. But I wonder if he can stop gambling because of his losses because if he is addicted to gambling, I guess he will hard to stop his habit of playing gambling. He will still play gambling, although he already loses the money. Although he can win one or more times, it will difficult to recover his losses because that is a lot of money.
I am not sure this guy is going to get over the shock of losing such a whopping amount of money on gambling, he need close counselling, I believed in bid to recoup his losses he continue to gamble thus couldn't control his emotion and stop as a result of strong addiction, this is a wake call to gamblers who gambles blindly in a bid to become rich overnight to desist from gambling with huge amount of money but rather gamble with the amount of money they can afford to lose.
I am not sure if he can control himself from the shock of losing that much money because, realizing or not, that still big money for him and us. He must stop his gamble and not trying to recover his losses because that will be hard. Yes, he needs counselling from a pro, but that is only if he realizes that he really needs that because some gamblers do not see their problem instead of playing gambling. We really need to avoid losing that much money and always control ourselves in playing gambling.
6377  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ohio offering lottery prize worth one million for those that get the COVID shot on: June 07, 2021, 08:31:52 AM
If you read the articles related to the news released regarding the winners of the first lottery draw you will know, the governor himself calls the lucky winners to confirm it.  Tickets are drawn every Wednesday to win 1M and one scholarship per week.  Not all vaccinators are qualified so it is necessary to verify this first.  Is it too big to be disliked?  I don't think of that as a reason, maybe others just really don't want to take the risk and maybe they are still observing what happens next.  Because people also think differently about that, you just really need to think carefully because health and life are at stake here.  So when the right time comes for them and they have made a decision, they will also get vaccinated to their liking even without incentives.

The opposition to this measure is purely political in nature. The opposition (Democrats in this case) are having issues just because it is being implemented by a Republican governor. IMO, this is a very commendable move and the governor deserves praise instead of curse. Many other states (including tje ones rules by Democrat party) have now taken out similar measures to boost the vaccination rate. And one thing I want to specify here is that there is zero additional cost to the state treasury. The state of Ohio hands out scholarships on a regular basis. This time also they are doing it, but reserving some for those who get vaccinated.

6379  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: BTC price VS gambling on: June 07, 2021, 06:25:39 AM
If they still continue to believe in the word "HODL", they would hold, but if not they will panic, that's the usual scenario we witness, a bull run makes the market overvalued, people always expect a high price, but when the price correct they easily panic. Anyway, we are gamblers, so it should not affect us, by the way the fee for bitcoin transaction now is very cheap.
If they believe in bitcoin, I am sure they will still hold it, no matter what happens with bitcoin. But if they panic, that will be a different story because they will fast sell their bitcoin without thinking twice or holding for more. Even if the bitcoin transaction fee is now cheap, I think we can still use altcoin to gamble because bitcoin can increase anytime.

Nah, this wasn't anticipated one bit. No one would have even believed its possibility from such a high and now, its almost half the price. Its unimaginable but thats the reality of the trade. Its not about what you imagine it to be and won't play into your analysis more accurately. At the moment, I believe a lot of us, I inclusive isn't 3xp3cting any further bear move but then, its still possible isn't it? Lol, we can only wish not.

Those that still regret not to have sold at the ATH, I think its a blessing in disguise for those of them that can hodl or perhaps, now is the time to pump some more new money into the market and hodl altogether in anticipation for the next bullrun. When would that be, we can't tell though, there is a 4 years pattern at play. Is it really that? And would it be worth it to hold for another 4years?

The moves is the only thing that could answer that.
We hope this will end soon and we will see the bull run comes again. But if that does not happen, we can only wait and still buy bitcoin at a low price. But some people will still use bitcoin with the current price because they think it is a good time for them to try to increase the bitcoin amount they have from gambling. I am sure the pump will coming soon, and we need to prepare ourselves for that coming. We still do not know when the next bull run will come but it will be back to the market, and we have more times to wait for that moment.
6380  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don't you think Bitcoin will die over the summer? on: June 07, 2021, 05:28:24 AM
We already had seen that bitcoin reached $3k before, and many people said that bitcoin would die soon. But then, we saw the price increase step by step and finally reach the new ATH that we do not expect before. Besides that, we know bitcoin is above $30k, and even the price goes down below $30k, bitcoin price will have a chance to increase, and I am sure that will make a new ATH and the price can break $64k. It is about how people believe in bitcoin and still holds bitcoin, and if they are tired of holding bitcoin, they can sell it right now. But they will regret it later when the bitcoin price starts to increase and break the high price.
It will be basically the same, people keep calling bitcoin dead almost all the time and that is like the norm in the crypto world, there are some people for some reason (different reasons) who keep calling bitcoin dead or dying. These could be any type of person, it could be people who just hate crypto from the first time they heard, people who invested and lost, people who didn't invested and envy, people who invested and made money and just do not want others to make the same, people who work for banks and such, basically there are tons of type of people who would be willing to do this.

Long story short we are talking about something that would be just not valid and would be not something we would be willing to listen as crypto people, I personally do not believe that the same could happen here where bitcoin "dies", it will surely not die.
Those people who say that bitcoin will die soon are people who know about bitcoin better than other people. They want to make people panic and sell their bitcoin, so those people can buy bitcoin at the lowest price because once people panic and selling fast the bitcoin, that will make their jump down to the lowest price. Those people are waiting for that moment and they still use many things to make people panic.

But I guess this moment is different than a few years ago which people do not just follow whatever other people say and they tend to search for the other info to make sure about what is happening with crypto. We need to do like that and not eat that word without search for the additional info so we can get in their trap and sell our bitcoin without making a profit.
