6361  Economy / Economics / Re: Binance Swirled into ‘KYC Leak’ Turmoil, Binance not Safu Anymore on: August 08, 2019, 03:52:42 PM
This is one of the reasons why I am against the mandatory KYC verification. Now only god knows what these hackers are going to do with all those ID cards. BTW, there is something seriously wrong with Binance. This latest incident comes just a few months after some hacker stole BTC7,000 from their hot wallets. If I was a Binance user, then I would not keep any of my coins there.

now Dale Steyn who was one of the best fast bowlers in the modern era.
Dalw Steyn has played 93 test matches, got 439 wickets. I think his decision is right. Now he can put more effort on ODI and T20 which I think is badly needed for him, as you know his recent performance wasn't so good.

Of late, Steyn had a stormy relationship with the South African cricket board (CSA) and was unlucky to miss so many matches due to injury, especially during 2015-18. He had close to 400 test wickets by 2014 and during the next 5 years (2015-19) he played less than 10 matches and took somewhere around 40 wickets.

I still regard him as the greatest fast bowler past the WW2 (Glenn Mitchell was the first one who claimed that). Had he played enough matches during the past 5 years, then he could have easily become the all time highest wicket taker in the history of test cricket.

This is why players like Amir etc are leaving test matches to focus on formats like ODI and T20 where they can provide better entertainment value and receive more money in a shorter span of time. We need more new stuff to make tests a lot more entertaining basically.

Players will continue to retire from tests, to concentrate more on the T20 leagues. Nowadays new T20 leagues are emerging in every nook and corner of the world, and the players are being paid handsomely for relatively short stints. After all, playing cricket is just like any other profession and the players need to earn as much as they can, when they are on top form.

Nathan Lyon bowled beautifully today, after his pathetic performance during the first innings. More than a victory for Australia, I was baying for an English defeat. What happened during the world cup finals left a bitter aftertaste and now I am happy after watching England losing by such a large margin.

The next test is scheduled at Lord's. That pitch may offer more support for the fast bowlers and I hope the Australians will include Mitchell Starc in the place of either Peter Siddle or James Pattinson.
6365  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: August 05, 2019, 06:19:16 PM
Tomorrow again the last T20 has to be played so hopefully India again plays well and does not be overconfident as they already won the series. Yesterday WI was playing well but lightning and rain destroyed the match. If they had played, they could possibly get 140 runs atleast.
The purpose of the entire series to be played in the United States to attract new audience into the game back fired big time, the first T20 was a boring match and the second one was an incomplete match because of rain and India won the series 2-0 and hopefully will have some entertainment match in the final game, they need to prepare batsmen friendly wickets if they want to promote cricket in neutral countries who are not aware of the sport and that is how you attract people into the game .

How they are planning to attract new audience, when the tickets were priced so high? The only aim was to make as much money as possible, by robbing the Indian and West Indian expats. The only locals among the audience were a few cheer girls. The ICC need to stop using the rich American expats as money making machines. Give them some respect.
6366  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Can Ethereum survive below 0.02 BTC per coin? on: August 04, 2019, 05:48:28 AM
As we all know, the exchange rate of Ethereum has fallen during the past few months (vs BTC). From around 0.035 BTC per coin six months back, the prices have fallen to 0.0205 BTC as of now. The market share of Ethereum in the cryptocurrency market has fallen from 11.5% to 8.3% during the same period. Other alts have also fallen, but not by this much.

And this has happened despite the boost it received from the IEOs. Can ETH manage a comeback anytime soon? Will the investors stop selling their ETH holdings for BTC, and hold on to the coin?
6367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Should I invest in XRP? on: August 04, 2019, 05:41:21 AM
I just found an article and here it is,

https://www.forbes.com/sites/panosmourdoukoutas/2018/03/07/ripple-could-be-the-next-bitcoin/#4dc2e64c5b39

Can anyone confirm it is helpful or is it wise to trade with XRP?

This is not the first time I am reading such articles, which promote XRP. Ripple enjoys support from a wide array of individuals and organizations (including major banks). But I have never considered it as a true cryptocurrency, due to its centralized nature. Its political muscle has enabled it to become the third largest cryptocurrency currently in circulation. But that hasn't helped its adoption and acceptability. Coins such as LTC and BCH remains more popular than XRP, despite having a smaller market capitalization.

Considering the increasingly hostile stance taken by the governments around the world towards cryptocurrency, I am forced to think about this scenario. My initial conclusion is that it is not possible for Blockchain.com to freeze the funds. Because the wallet itself is decentralized and only the user has access to private keys and passwords.

They could serve malicious javascript to steal users' funds, or require KYC to access the wallet file. If someone hadn't backed it and they don't have the seed with them they'd be screwed.

Very hypothetical, though, as that would bring lots of hate from the entire Bitcoin community onto bc.i.

How practical is this? I have created multiple Blockchain.com wallets and most of my coins are stored in these wallets. I have also exported the private keys from these wallets in the text format. If Blockchain.com freezes my wallet, I can just go to some other platform and then import the private keys to get access to my wallet, right? There is no requirement to use their platform.
6369  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you protect your digital coins? on: August 04, 2019, 03:52:21 AM
cryptocurrency market started to grow day after day, and everyone now started to own coins, so the question now which come to all the coin's holders , how to protect your digital coin from losing, stealing, hacking, etc ?

All you need to do is to take a few basic security precautions. If 2FA is enabled and the private key is properly backed up, then the chances of your coins getting stolen or lost is close to zero. If you still want to be sure about the safety of your coins, then hardware wallets are available from $100 to $300, depending on the specifications.
6370  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which is better Government run Lottery or private run Lottery on: August 04, 2019, 03:35:29 AM
Privatization is not the solution, as in India we had very bad experience with that. Here a mafia tycoon called Santiago Martin got the contract to operate state lotteries in some of the Northeastern regions and he made many billions by cheating the players. Lottery tickets were printed out above the permissible limit and a smaller share was reserved for the prize pool.

This match had many twists where England losing quickly in the middle order but the 9th wicket partnership still give England a lead of 100 Plus.

I expected this when they dropped Mitchell Starc from the bowling XI. The Australian bowling attack looked pathetic in the absence of Starc and I was surprised that England couldn't build a better total. Also, it was surprising to see Nathan Lyon bowling close to 50 overs, as he never troubled the batsmen. Right now, England has 80% chance of winning this match. If they could get Smith out early today, the match is theirs.

For all the cricket lovers here watch out for Kamlesh Nagarkoti bowling in youtube i am sure everyone will be impressed by his bowling action and pace, he is the future prospect for India. If you can clock 150 KMPH consistently at 18 years and if he can avoid injuries he will be the fastest bowler India will produce in world cricket.

His career is all but finished now. He picked up a serious back injury almost two years back and has been out of action ever since. Even if he returns at some point in the future, I don't think he'll be able to bowl at the same pace. The last time I heard, he has injuries to his ankle and heel as well, in addition to his lower back injury.
6373  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-08-02] Bitcoin.com to Launch an Exchange on: August 03, 2019, 06:34:36 PM
I think Blockchain.com is trying to bring in more revenues. Despite being used by tens of millions of cryptocurrency users, Blockchain.com is not a profit making venture. Their wallet business doesn't bring in any revenues. So they may be trying to capitalize on the user-base to get some cash. But opening an exchange is not child's play, especially after so many exchange hacks.
6374  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: August 03, 2019, 05:36:20 PM
Indians do have a habit of messing up with small targets. Krunal Pandya just got out. India at 88/6 and still needs another eight runs to win. When they restricted Windies to less than a hundred, I thought that they'll chase the target with 10 overs to spare. I wonder what would have happened had WI scored another 20 runs to their total.
6375  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: August 03, 2019, 05:25:47 PM
Bad light stops play, and Australia leads by 34 runs. For the Aussies, any chance of a victory depends solely on Steven Smith. None of the other batsmen looked like they are capable of playing a match winning innings. If they could build the lead to 250 plus, then I'd say that they have a chance. Anything less than that is a cakewalk for England, given how poorly Lyon has bowled during the first innings.
6376  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-07-30] Largest Wallet Blockchain Just Launched Its First Crypto Exchange on: August 03, 2019, 04:52:20 PM
Having a bad feeling after reading about all their plans..... My two cents about this is that we don't need another exchange right now. There are thousands of them out there and Blockchain.com would be better if they could just concentrate on the wallet business. I don't want the hackers to target Blockchain.com, after the disaster we had with Cryptopia.
6377  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 17,800,000 BTC already mined on: August 03, 2019, 04:40:44 PM
After all BTC (99%) mined, a significant move will be there since there will be no more supply and within that time, more people will be interested in bitcoin. For me, 1 BTC is still a big amount to accumulate. From my earning, I used to hold a certain portion for the future.

A few months back, Charlie Lee (the inventor of Litecoin) said during an interview that every cryptocurrency user should strive to accumulate one BTC in his wallet. Despite being the inventor of an altcoin, he was saying that we should focus on alts only after accumulating 1 BTC. I agree with him. After all, Bitcoin was the first and original cryptocurrency.
6378  Economy / Speculation / Re: Good news! Bitcoin Price Breaks $10K Barrier on: August 03, 2019, 04:37:50 PM
11k is the next important lvl

I don't think so. 11K was achieved many times during the past few weeks, and the price movement showed no major resistance level or support at 11K. IMO, the next major target is going to be 20K, and we may witness this level by the end of this year. But first, Bitcoin needs to move past the current levels (9K-11K), as we are witnessing a weakening of the bull run in the market.
6379  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would you be mad if satoshi sold all coins they own right now? on: August 03, 2019, 04:34:06 PM
Never. I'll never be mad if satoshi were to sell his possession to another. Why would I be mad? After all, its his in the first place so there's nothing to worry about. I always say life is about choices. You decide what you want to do with your possession and property.

Can't agree anymore with you on this. Those $10 billion worth of coins are his, and he can do whatever he want with those coins. We should not complain about it too much. If not for his invention (Bitcoin), we would have never got an opportunity to earn all the wealth during the past few years. Many of the users here got rich by investing in Bitcoins and many others got considerable amount of money by participating in the bounty campaigns and airdrops. Now we can't be ungrateful to Satoshi.

The partnership between Broad and Woakes changed everything, else Australia could have restricted England to a lead of less than 50 runs. And this is where they needed Starc the most. Nathan Lyon was sending down ball after ball, and he never looked threatening, even for the tailenders. In the end he picked up 3 wickets (including that of Anderson), but he never deserved his place in the playing XI.
