Amazon and Ebay good for me, but I also use Bitcoinstore.com for using my bitcoins Smiley

Sneaky one their newbie ^^
But Bitcoinstore was superceded since 2013-2014 when newegg started taking bitcoin and it was mission accomplished ^^

That said also use amazon and ebay for my purchases primarily as I combine them with ebates.
6383  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Isis’s destruction of Palmyra: ‘The heart has been ripped out of the city' on: September 03, 2015, 10:24:35 AM
It's a tragedy that a historical human monument was destroyed rather than being simple stone structures they represent humanity and its history no less a tragedy than if the Roman Colosseum was destroyed, yet this is what ISIS wants a war and to bring the west in for Jihad and to acquire recruits for the Capitulate, that said this is the result of toppling Gadaffi with the second consequence being the wave of immigrants heading for Europe and escaping Syria and other countries like Libya as a result.
6384  Other / Politics & Society / Re: CEO who raised workers’ minimum pay to $70K hits predictable problems on: September 03, 2015, 10:11:30 AM
Interesting to watch this evolve, figured there would be issues but did not expect so many from within. Sure did not take long to start eating itself.

I was shocked to see how fast that experiment collapsed. Indeed.

I appreciate that someone kept a pulse on the topic and came back with an update all to often these stories get left abandoned and no one comes back to see what happened in the meanwhile.

As for the reason for this failure its a worker ant analogy simply put a percentage of people are lazy while the rest do the work the classic saying where its 90% of the work is done by 10% of the people, with income equality the incentive to perform from the worker ants who did the best disappeared and without that motivation they left of course the lazy ants didn't care or want to step up as much to fill the gap because of no salary motivations hence this problem.

Alas society is still based on a profit motive in one way or another justified or not.
6385  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Should we kick more people off welfare? on: September 03, 2015, 10:04:55 AM
First of all before I begin this post I would like to explain my financial situation. I live in a social assistance building in downtown Vancouver and I collect $541 from the provincial government after paying rent. I filed my taxes and I get a $100 GST cheque from the government every two months. I am currently saving up money to service my Windows laptop and get my projects off that laptop.

A lot of people who live in my building spend their disability cheques on drugs and alcohol. The residents get quite irritable and angry when free lunches are canceled. They push themselves ahead in line when asking for meds, and do a poor job keeping the building secure. Drug dealers roam the building selling drugs to residents because the dealers friend who lives here buzzed them in.

I just think that it's public money not being sufficiently spent. I am one of only 5 people on welfare who work in my building or have any kind of job skills whatsoever. That being said, bitcoin is not hardcore computer science, they could at least buy a cheap netbook and earn from Bitcoinget and other sites to go buy themselves lunch. I suppose begging other people to feed them just sounds easier than planning and working.

It's a tough call, while there are certainly individuals who have good intents and want to establish a better life for themselves and deserve social assistance just as often there are those who abuse the free government aid to further get themselves wasted on the taxpayers dollar with no respect for money or willingness to take responsibility (Scum)

Social assistance is a good tool to help people get out of tough situations if they deserve it but just as equally it can be exploited which is why its concerning when new immigrants get a job quit or claim injury to their knee when the work is to hard for them then decide to just get government payments by switching between doctors, or saying it was the government that brought them to the country and that they should give them money for doing that. (Sickens me sometimes that sense of self-entitlement when they sure as heck haven't got off their lazy buts to do anything about it)

If they don't want to get off the bootstraps do some hard work and participate in making the country better then I would prefer they send them back, but just as equally those who are down on their ropes and serious about getting back up deserve that safety net.

In summary it depends on how it is used and who uses it just as much as anything else.

much respect to this lady who faces prison for defying the evil jewish sodomite agenda

Nice pic, and the women certainly deserves respect for sticking to her guns especially against this radical sexual movement their is sabotage and lots of money involved in these things.
As much as the LGBT community likes to think this issue is settled and old news it's a constant issue that irks a lot of people even if they don't hate the idea of gay rights personally their is a difference when its like a giant c**kflag being waved at you if you dare to have a contrary opinion of sodomy.

Interesting well lets see how this pans out for you then
And it does seem disturbing that their is no withdrawal function although you can buy (porn) Bitcoin and some other word lol.
6388  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Devianttwo is a Pedophile AKA Robert Christopher on: September 03, 2015, 08:37:51 AM

That is disgusting. There is no room in this world for those people.

Maybe I'm going a bit off topic here but...
People don't choose what they're attracted to. Gay people don't choose to be gay and paedophiles don't choose to be paedophiles.
I understand the hate, but we shouldn't bash him too much.

Well with modern society and its liberalization of the gay community despite vast protest for their lifestyle and the act of sodomy in general, I can see that point of view of being a bit light being fair as I will equate the dang two things as equal (lol off topic).
Only one has the pocketbook while the others have no collective organization.

can't decide if this thread is funny or not

It's no Trilema Smiley
6389  Economy / Economics / Re: Google Ad Revenue on: September 03, 2015, 08:15:34 AM
Some people actually make a living off of it, cause they got super lucky in the search engines.

But not like crazy amount the ones I hear about those stories. But, its better then nothing.

Don't really have an idea of how much an average site can make in google ad revenue
I'm sure there are some winners and losers though

The odds of scoring it big with google is very slim.

Yes, there is success stories w. youtube, but very few will make those life changing figures. Not saying its not possible, but its obviously way harder then it looks.

Some took 3-4 years of posting non-stop videos prior to all that.

I think its really time consuming to produce content for youtube, you need expensive gear to shoot and a few helping hand sometimes if its a big project. You need nice actors, proper lighting, camera, sound and audio and editing takes so much of time. besides all that, a script is the core of every video, the content must be great. If any of these features are too little or too much, the video isn't good enough. So yes, its time consuming and wth what google pays, I don't think its really easy to make a living out of it if you aren't too good at it.

That said I think if you put a lot of nature videos and places you visited into some sort of local travel guide you can make low budget stuff people view, some videos are cheaper than others to produce.
Filming a local film festival etc doubt it would get much rev though but I have no real idea on how much the going rates are.
Or try dailymotion since there is more than one that pays.
6390  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-08-29] Andreas Antonopoulos Thinks Bitcoin ATMs Need to Be Completely Rede on: August 31, 2015, 10:44:31 AM
He has a point, the machine presumes you know what your doing in the first place.
To attract business it needs to act more as a service that assists you and teaches you how to use it and the benefits pf Bitcoin like send money to Mexico at low cost, etc rather than a point of access machine, whether a 24/7 support service is needed at this stage is questionable due to the implied costs but it could be needed in the future so points for addressing the idea now.

Basically a revision to provide a more interactive experience is what the BTM industry needs.

P.S. Try using https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=search next time onwards.

Thanks and didn't know which keywords to use to look it up (lol)
But I'll remember that its the data carry over subthread.
6392  Other / Meta / Re: Is "account farming" frowned upon. on: August 29, 2015, 11:07:31 AM
Someday that new forum will arrive guys

Will the ranks/activity not carry on over to the new forum?

Everything except passwords* will be carried to new forum software.

* There was a discussion on this and theymos or Epochtalk developer told they won't migrate passwords but I don't know the final decision.

Not to hijack the thread but do you remember where that was cited (*) mean the general topic.

Can't seem to find it myself unless it was in a github discussion thread or I skimmed over it on the forum but it does raise the question that it implies all accounts could be transferred over at that time with the activity and posts included but that would make sense, I may just open a new thread in the new forum discussion and get the question answered directly but wouldn't want to repeat it if its already posted somewhere so may as well ask here first.
6393  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BIP100 is Winning! on: August 29, 2015, 10:57:35 AM
I remember that time when Hearn (I think) mentioned that most miners have already agreed to their proposal.  Roll Eyes
So essentially just a few pools are left, and BIP100 will be going above 80%. The turn of events is very interesting, and this was not what I was expecting. Is there a ETA for the implementation? I've read one statement in the mailing list recently. He just said that he was working on it.

Well with all the people putting up a fuzz and the polarization between the XT loyalists and the Core Users it was bound to occur that a better proposal or set of ideas would be put forward to try and find consensus.

That said I feel like were finally starting to move forward and that if it's not BIP 100 or even BIP 101 that get adopted the elements from them that the community feels are beneficial will be moved into a new proposal and adopted at around 75% it might be possible even with BIP100 but it's a bit early to say it will be certain that this version of the current proposal will be the final adopted one.

Someday that new forum will arrive guys

Will the ranks/activity not carry on over to the new forum?

It's been a while so I can't answer that one off hand looking at the forum design document activity will be used in the new forum and back checking through the thread see one named moving over but no wangbus post was in it on that part in particular, his response was to API's.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=892653.0

Whether this implies that all users start on a new slate or not is not specified or how account transfer works someone else with more info knows the answer for sure as I don't recall slickage wangbus or the others mentioning any particulars myself.
(Or maybe we haven't even had a transfer discussion and how it will be carried out although that would be strange -- still drawing a blank though)

6395  Economy / Economics / Re: We've started mainstream adoption - Pension considers Bitcoin investment on: August 29, 2015, 10:05:13 AM
http://www.coindesk.com/canadian-pension-funds-venture-arm-exploring-bitcoin-investments/

I think we've started the phase of mainstream adoption - a pension fund in Canada has started considering Bitcoin as an investment. This is a huge deal. Pension funds don't invest in penny stocks, options, or generally speculative investments. If they're considering Bitcoin, they must believe there's some stability and longevity to the investment (pensions have to pay liabilities for decades!)

Very interesting...

That is quite cool to hear
To think that Canadians will have more exciting possibilities in their pension fund than Americans Smiley (Sorry had to do a bit of ribbing)
Still its great to hear that they want to invest in the space and a little venture capital now could go a long way to their pension funds earnings tomorrow glad to hear the fund is managed well as they are looking at great opportunities in new spaces.
6396  Other / Meta / Re: Is "account farming" frowned upon. on: August 29, 2015, 09:54:44 AM
The forum does not care about farming or spamming unless it is really obvious.

Pretty much this, unless you were raising them all up to the Legendary tier then that would be quite the achievement but you should have started a year ago Wink (Someday that new forum will arrive guys) If not 100 Legend tier accounts for sale 2-3 years from now would be good trolling.

If your just trying to split up your posts in a way to diversify your opinions instead of having them all in one established account that's a valid reason to have a spare but if its just for the sake of farming then yes it would be frowned upon.
6397  Economy / Economics / Re: What you will do if bitcoin price drops to 50$ and you have lots of bitcoin on: August 29, 2015, 09:47:56 AM
It depends on the news, if the market panics enough over a fork that it stagnates this issue to 2016, then I might see it as a buying opportunity as things are about to be resolved.
Else it depends on the situation.
6398  Economy / Speculation / Re: Chinas Correction - Exchange Rates and Bitcoin on: August 29, 2015, 09:45:21 AM
Went back and looked at the price history with Coindesk
As soon as China said the interest rates were going down the price went back up.
http://www.coindesk.com/price/

That said the US stock market followed a similar pattern but not to a full return to value compared to Bitcoin over the week so we shouldn't underestimate the China or US effect on Bitcoin but it tends to Bias towards China still.

6399  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BIP100 is Winning! on: August 29, 2015, 08:55:08 AM

I love BIP1xx, but didnt hear about it till today, and it seems miners couldn't even vote for that one.

My own vote goes to BIP1xx as well as it addresses true market demand but given that the option to vote on that has not been set, it's a matter of the second best preference and BIP100 is the one I liked next best.
That said it's in D@T and that may also be part of the reason you didn't hear about it till today as that section tends to be kept very clean to ensure good discussion.

That said at least there was some discussion on it in reddit

As I can see, the proposal is now being discussed on the front page of www.reddit.com/r/bitcoin... interesting Smiley

They can be fun to play with when your getting into Bitcoin
(Kind of funny though that when I first started using facuets the tiny dust values started to become tangible amounts before the price crashed and it went back down in the long run, those penny's can become nickels if the price moves enough ha-ha.
