how many blocks are they mining?

"they" actually aren't mining, but the users on the official pool are mining their premine Smiley

8000 blocks

Hmmm.. 8000 blocks premine? Doesnt that take like almost 2 months to mine with 10 minute block time? Or am I missing something here?

The premine is complete it didnt take long not sure but was something like 5 hours

Guys!

The initial Sync problems are history now! And the first Profit Comparison calculator for Bitcoin Gold is live!
https://www.crypto-coinz.net/crypto-calculator/
Please allow up to 24 hours data to be collected for the 24 hours calculation to work. Until then you can see what you have mined in your working pool since block 499922. Once 24 hours have passed since block 499922 you will see a calculation for the last 24 hours.

Cheers
BHTeam Smiley

Some are expecting things to go like Bcash the difference it nothing changed everything could use the same block data pre fork but since the pow changed all old collected data is useless and needs to be rebuilt

The Bitcoin Cash network has now been upgraded to support the new difficulty adjustment algorithm!  Smiley Smiley

Congratulations on the birth of BitcoinCashLegacy (BCL) BCH just dropped off the cliff

In a few minutes DAA will be down and Hashrate going back to BCH uncomfirmed BTC will go from 124k to 5,000,000 in a week.

You do know this benefits BTC more than BCH as it "should stop the wild swings and allow the 10-20% of miners to move over and the BTC difficulty to stabilise which means more consistent blocks and less backlog

Only a few blocks left till BCH hardfork

BitcoinWu almost here? :-D weeee

Maybe Jihan isn't so into Bcash now with his recent "sort of" pro BTC tweets I say sort of because they are more about defending it than pulling it down

Is it possible that now Bitcoin-ABC have removed his cash cow EDA exploit it's not as appealing anymore or he#s just trying to say "im not that bad" so when Bcash falls flat we welcome him back  Undecided

Quote
Friday, November 10th, 2017 — CASH (CSH), formerly known as Bitcoin Cash, will re-brand itself to CASH upon split of the network on Monday, November 13th at 19:06 (GMT).
Bitcoin Cash has seen much success in its 100 days of existence, having achieved hundreds of businesses and thousands of users world-wide.
Bitcoin Cash will not be following BitcoinABC's planned network upgrade, instead, the cryptocurrency will re-brand itself and maintain the existing network. CASH will release its road-map with-in 3 months from November 13th, 2017.
Current Bitcoin Cash holders will receive an equal amount of cryptocurrency on both networks, of which they are free to spend, hold or whatever their purpose may be.
"We feel that we will continue to achieve the same success the world has experienced, on the currently deployed network" quoted Scott Wilson, lead maintainer of CASH Cryptocurrency. "Branding ourselves as Bitcoin Cash has cost loss in some cases, it has also harmed the Bitcoin brand and this was never our intent". "Our intent is to be an equal competitor to Bitcoin, to work with their technology and to continue to build the future, as with all cryptocurrencies". "We look forward to the exciting future ahead of us and hope to have you along for the ride".
Existing cryptocurrency wallet users currently on the Bitcoin Cash network do not need to upgrade, they can continue to use the network as they have.
Cryptocurrency Exchanges will need to list the existing chain and new chain separate. The existing network will re-brand itself to CASH (CSH), while Bitcoin Cash will remain, Bitcoin Cash (BCH).
About CASH Cryptocurrency: CASH is a peer-to-peer electronic cash system that is fast, reliable, simple, stable, secure and has low-fees. The cryptocurrency offers; unrestricted growth, global adoption, innovation and multiple contributing development teams. Any user, business, organization or government can begin using CASH, it is fully decentralized with no central bank and requires no trusted third parties.

Looks like the DAA fork might not happen today after all need to wait for another 6 blocks now

Please, provide a link to the site Smiley

https://cash.coin.dance/

And according to bitnodes there are still over 20% of cash nodes that are not compatible with the new fork

impossible to mine this coin
the difficulty is very high there are more profitable coins

The difficulty is high due to so many miners this will equalise with the other coins eventually but right now im finding profitability to be ok
650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Gold : Make Bitcoin Decentralized Again on: November 13, 2017, 06:34:33 PM
will difficulty lower or raise from here because now this coin is basically not worth mining for someone with a couple of cards

Impossible to say if more miners jump in it will go up and if more leave it will go down your guess is as good as mine but right now it seems to be steadily increasing

You will never earn much with just a couple of cards so if you want to accumulate BTG either mine is for what it is or mine something more profitable to an exchange and trade it for BTG

Jihan is now pleading for core to increase the blocksize because his efforts to do this are failing maybe this is why he has been posting so much lately about the Bcash community to stop attacking BTC
are you ok m8?

obs thats what he wants......along with almost every btc user/miner   ,
but core are greedy and want high feees or use segwit to give them control.....so core will never increase size.

Why artificially inflate the chain with a inefficient legacy chain that will affect everyone going forward when you can optimise it now and then increase the size when its much more efficient

lols,

you guys really are against all forms of upgrades...i guess you still buy ps1 games too  Cheesy

We have upgraded with segwit that now allows bitcoin to safely implement future features and upgrades all you have done is broken the network stability and now having to fork again in an attempt to fix it

So looks atm it ain't profitable to mine at all using GPU.
Cheesy the price at yobit.net is exactly as ZEC has and the difficulty is almost the same atm... just a bit less than ZEC usually has. And it's just started Roll Eyes nevermind ZEC is NOT profitable at all. There's lots of other options atm

Im currently earning more on BTG than I was on Zcash and hopefully the value will increase quite a bit over the months/years

It crashed from $2800 to almost $1000 in such a short period just because the one exchange that was causing the pump from a single entity (Ver) crashed the server and now
i'm hearing that there is a huge lawsuit from thousands of their customers against bithumb because the crash caused them huge financial loss

bithumb is back up and trading now.

Here is a quick tip...
aug 1 2017 bch is launched...lets say around $200
it goes to $900 within a few weeks, people buy high and are dumped on...
now from the $900 buyers there is 2 types of people, panic sellers on loss as it dropped back to $200 and the average down smart investors
the smart investors kept buying on every dip , accumulating more and gaining cheaper entry point than the original $900 they paid.

The same is happening again but on a higher price point, reason being....
demand has increased as more epople are becoming aware that btc is now segwitcoin and bch performs much better overall.
So the smart buyers from $2800 are buying now and lowering their entry point, while noobs that bought high are selling low and calling bch a P&D lols.

Finally, it has been launched but it is not profitable for miners .

It will balance out loads have jumped on board and some will leave for other more profitable alts until everything equalises

I have downloaded the official Bitcoin Gold Core Client, and it is running fine...

where you download it?

From the offiical website, it just went live:

https://bitcoingold.org/downloads/

i have donwloaded direct on ghithub .. but i need a node list for add ... where can find node list?

I just used this to get going working just fine 78.193.221.106

Do you need to download the whole bitcoin chain too, or only since the hard fork?

Full chain

really great jobs devs,
you said your premine would take 10 minutes but its still going on (2 hours passed since the release time)

so i lost around  200 hundreds dollars worth of hash into nothing ,well done great way of repaying my trust into your project

edit : my bad i misread 10 minutes by block as total 10 minutes,

but still you should have start mining before release date or you could just warn all pools or make a official pool about the situation.

You mean mine in private ? Thats not going to work everyone would cry foul and as soon as the network went live everyone would notice this is the best way you have a choice of participating or sitting out and waiting

actually what is happening now is mining privately , and the worst part is pools and miners didnt know that they thought they could start it at 7 utc

By privately I mean offline on a local network

noone says they should mine offline they could just edit first 8000 blocks too super easy and start mining 5 minutes ago.
or put a actual release time to their website not a clock only means the countdown for dev premine...

Also i couldnt find any blockchain explorer either even 5k market caps coins go online with a proper working block explorer, windows wallet
