641  Other / Politics & Society / Re: A "Rich"country totally destroyed by a Dictator on: April 01, 2019, 01:28:18 PM
Well, basically the country was destroyed by socialism and resource curse. That's where everything starts. Then go dictatorship, corruption and drug cartels.
There is one thing that you have to learn: human rights do not exist. Even if some US bureaucrats say something it still doesn't mean that it is true. Do not expect to get any significant help from outside.
642  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Prehistory on: April 01, 2019, 01:10:18 PM
Good job!
But it pretty hard to show BTC prehistory from all sides. In your case you mainly point out only technical points. But if you also want to overview BTC from economical point then you gonna need to take a look at prehistory of money.

The most obvious book:  The History of Money by Jack Weatherford

643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you evaluate tokens in ICOs? on: April 01, 2019, 10:49:15 AM
For now just forget about it. Check how many coins are listed on CMC and find how many of them are gaining some decent growth like it was somewhere in 2017.
The only thing that can help you with such investments is only a hype.
There is some of examples based on my own experience:
1. There was a Docademic (MTC token) ICO that was heavily endorsed by McAffee. During that time it got a decent exchange listing and a good pump. But then everything turned into shit (as it supposed to do).
2. During TV-TWO ICO they had no endorsers but shortly after ICO they released their app. TTV token trading volume is still very close to zero despite they have an app that pays people with TTV.

On the first case I got some good money from their bounty and almost nothing from TTV bounty. Now both tokens are traded under ICO price.
It is impossible to estimate the true value but you can earn only on hype.
644  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [BREAKING NEWS] Craig Wright is the real Satoshi! Proof found! on: April 01, 2019, 10:33:32 AM
It feels like I've seen this joke in crypto community for many times and it became not interesting (and not so clickbait-attractive) after the first million times.
Cmon dude, 1st April is only once a year. I believe that people can make better jokes.
645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Mass Sensitization is Still Key to Adoption on: April 01, 2019, 10:17:16 AM
a vast majority of the world's population have no idea what crypto is all about.
Not anymore. Already in 2017 every media has been talking about cryptocurrencies and people focused their attention on it. Unfortunately as we see most people don't need crypto. Should we dig for information about things that we don't need? I guess not.

Quoting Brian Stoeckert: "People have heard about digital currency, but they really don't understand how it operates.
I bet that at least half of bitcoin users would not explain to you how blockchain works. Their knowledge is only based on understanding that BTC have some value and it is secure.
646  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Giving Bitcoin Starters on: March 30, 2019, 08:16:37 AM
If every second shitcoin is not getting x5 it doesn't mean that you can't earn on this market. Even without s huge fluctuations you can pick a good leverage and benefit from slammer price moves.
But first of all for newbies it is better not to waste your money and to trade for some time (preferably some months) on demo accoount.
Also if you want him to learn trading it is better to choose more mature market where you can sharpen your skills of different kinds of analysis without warrying that someone will dump his 10$ of shitcoins and crash the market.
647  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 95% fake volume :) on: March 30, 2019, 08:08:15 AM
Even the real volume can be faked by exchange administration in a pretty realistic way. What stops them from buying and selling BTC? They will even get back their fee. So if they, for example, sell 1mln $ worth of BTC and afterward buy back the same amount of Bitcoins then they would get 2 mln$ of volume. And how would we figure out if the volume is real in that case?
648  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Packing the Supreme Court is an attack on Democracy on: March 28, 2019, 01:20:21 PM
Trump is doing absolutely the same things as any Democrat would do, there is nothing special here.
But the other point that imho the American Supreme Court is still a reputable body.  Republican and Democrat judges do not behave themselves like rep and dem community. While all over the internet democrats are keep throwing shit on republicans, judges are playing golf with each other and always demonstrate  that their political sights do not have any influence on their work.
For now there is no problem in court like being too dem or too rep.
649  Other / Politics & Society / Re: New York State Rockland County Bans Unvaccinted Kids From All Public Places on: March 28, 2019, 01:11:52 PM
I'have always admired the US healthcare system. Everyone knows that it is full of shit but no one can do anything with it. The lobbyism of pharma companies is something unbelievable.
My friend tried to buy some contact lenses in US and faced that he need to get an assignment (or however it called) from doctor for it. And he had to pay the doctor 5 times more than lense cost just to get 1 paper. And that happened because some retard didn't use his lense properly and lost his sight. This happens in like 0.00001% cases but the issue was heavily lobbied and people now should pay for that bullshit.

It is pretty much the same thing with vaccination. Pure lobbyism.
650  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela hit by new nationwide powercut for more than three days on: March 28, 2019, 01:01:10 PM
This situation reminds me of North Korea where the government is turning off the electricity during the night in order to save some resources.
Venezuelan issue also won't have any significant impact on cryptocurrencies simply because there is no mining farms there and i guess that BTC whales also don't live in Venezuela while the income of the rest of the people won't let them buy some good amount of cryptocurrency.
651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is completely legal in at least 111 countries, and illegal in only 10 on: March 28, 2019, 12:34:00 PM
Bitcoin is already been known worldwide and we can not deny the fact that it has a positive impact in our industry that is why that 111 countries are not against bitcoin. Thus, trying to accept bitcoin as cryptocurrency and as a blockchain technology. Therefore, the greatness of bitcoin is being adopted all over the world.
It is important to mention that most of those 111 countries are also not for bitcoin. The fact that BTC is legal there only tells us that you won't get in jail and government won't take your money just because you have some cryptocurrencies.
Most of those countries still don't have a payment infrastructure and cryptocurrencies are not really spreaded there. So it basically means that nothing really happened.
652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: By far THE biggest crypto scam EVER… on: March 28, 2019, 12:00:47 PM
In the article author claims that Bitcoin is no longet bitcoin just because it is not as good for payments as Bitcoin cash. I guess soon he will say that Bitcoin Casj is a real bitcoin and BTC as a scam (Just like Roger Ver said).
Just remember that BCH is heavily advertised scamcoin which still does not resolve the problem of block size.
653  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Utomarket is a Peer-to-Peer Bitcoin Trading platform on: March 28, 2019, 10:24:55 AM
If you are advertising / announcing Utomarket exchange then move this thread to service announcement or service discussion boards.
If you are new to this forum then you will find "move topic" button on the bottom left corner.
654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Two billion on: March 28, 2019, 10:18:28 AM
there is this service called walletExplorer which has been doing some blockchain analysis for a long time. if you search addresses in it, they can tell you which service these popular addresses belong to.

it says this address belongs to BTC-e.com which was a big bitcoin exchange back in the days before FBI closed it down.
here is the link: https://www.walletexplorer.com/wallet/BTC-e.com-old?from_address=16R14EH4v8A9GPXkAAP8gcMFBA8oxA8nbY

If the FBI closed it down what happened to those coins that is in the wallet? Those are big amounts, did the FBI confiscated the wallet?
As I remember people were able to withdraw their coins and only a CEO was accused in financial crimes.
btc-e once was one of the major echanges and after those mentioned issues they were opened again as WEX exchange but they didn't get the same amount of users and now they are probably closed.
655  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop Comparisation with BTC and Other Payments Methods. on: March 28, 2019, 10:07:02 AM
But we are learning about yet. We still don't know if we have legal protection or not. Actually, we are just experiencing yet.
We do. If you are able to prove that some particular person stole XX amount or your BTC then it will be investigated by the police as a cyber crime.

So if you must to compare Bitcoin with something else. Make this comparisation the first then year of Bitcoin and that thing.
If you are using Bitcoin as a payment system then everything like Visa, Paypal etc. are its competitors and comparison is legit. The point that BTC is younger doesn't change the fact that it may still be compared to its competitors.
656  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Degradation of American media on: March 28, 2019, 06:05:00 AM
I get my news better and faster from other internet users than you could from any media company.
By the time a media company starts working on the story you could have read all of the tweets while it is happening and often live streams from amateurs in the area if you are paying attention at the right time.
Unfortunately it not always works.
In twitter there are pretty much rumours and just incorrect information while something useful may drawn in spam. Meanwhile, people are expecting those big media companies to have deeper insights into different situations, have a chance to represent some expert view and some other things that are generally considered as a quality informational content. At least that's how it was until 2016.
657  Other / Off-topic / Re: The best place to celebrate honeymoon on: March 27, 2019, 03:55:14 PM
I would advice Mexico. There are plenty of popular touristic places there. The best thing there is the service in their hotels (and tbh everywhere outside hotels). You won't find anything like that anywhere in europe. But even if you will then it will cost x5 times more.
658  Economy / Economics / Re: Citi Has Scrapped Its Plan for a JPM Coin-Like Bank-Backed Cryptocurrency on: March 27, 2019, 03:49:05 PM
Well, as I thought there would be nothing related to current crypytocurrencies. Bank is trying to use crypto in order to get an advantage in competition with the other banks. That's gonna be a stablecoin that will not be related with the other cryptocurrencies.
Good news for the ones who thought that banks gonna steal money from other cryptos and  centralize it: that's not gonna happen.
659  Other / Politics & Society / Re: On the importance for nazis, commies and all extremists to stop fighting on: March 27, 2019, 02:26:05 PM
My friend visited Paris 3 times in different years and every time something went wrong because he faced different protests. France has always been one of the most leftist countries in EU. It seems to be a long French tradition to come out to the streets and scream different bullshit. Now it is pretty clear that you faced a political crisis.
Your current government is obviously bad but it is definetely a bad idea to support the opposite faction that would like to see you dead / in jail in case they get power in their hands. That's how it often happens after revolutions.

This is a very good point that I don't think the little kiddies waving Communist flags and playing revolutionary understand. Historically in leftist revolutions, the first thing they do after taking power is to kill all the revolutionaries that got them there. Don't forget when they start building that pile of bodies, the "revolutionaries" will form its foundation.
Well, literally every revolution ends up the same way but leftist revolution are the craziest ones. I just want to att a couple examples:
1. In Russia communist got their power after the revolution. Then during the civil war they killed everyone who supported any other ideology (even the ones that are very close to communism) despite the fact that those people fought along them during the revolution.
2. Revolution in Cambodia gave power to one of the most insane retards that humanity has ever seen. The point is that Cambodgian commies were building a community that was very close to the one represented in Marx's books. No one could build a more exceptional communism. This ended up with a genocide of their own people (up to one third of the population) and fast degradation of society.

660  Other / Politics & Society / Degradation of American media on: March 27, 2019, 02:10:43 PM
Hey guys!
I've just found some interesting read written by Rolling Stone columnist Matt Taibi. This guy is talking about the problems of American press that uncovered after so-called Russiagate (and during Iraq military campaign): https://taibbi.substack.com/p/russiagate-is-wmd-times-a-million

It is pretty interesting that once reputable media with probably world's bests journalists, which have a huge amount of money, connections and other resources, can degrade so fast.
