641  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Mobile wallet had no way to add contacts? on: December 22, 2020, 09:07:06 PM
Is it true? I see no option to add contacts. Can this be added?

Yes, there is no such feature in both the mobile and desktop versions. You can request it here. For privacy reasons, you are supposed not to reuse addresses; that's why some people might not be in favour of your idea.
642  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: LEDGER UPDATE ISUES / BTC Legancy account on: December 20, 2020, 09:42:42 AM
I also tried with Electrum BTC Legancy. Unfortunatly i can't see my coins. Ledger support do not reply to tickets.

Did you use more than one legacy account? If so, you have to modify the derivation path after you select that you had a legacy account in Electrum. m/44'/0'/0' - if you increase the last number then you will get a different account. As far as I remember, the Chrome app didn't allow you to create a new account if you didn't fund the previous one. It's worth giving a try, though. Have you followed this article?
643  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: A question about transactions on: December 19, 2020, 07:13:59 PM
The transaction still appears unconfirmed on my ledger live but it has close to 100 confirmations.

Is it just because ledger is fucking shit? I'm quite pissed off with them.

Try clearing the cache. Go to the settings (top-right corner), select "Help" tab and press "Clear" button. If you are tired of Ledger Live then you can easily pair your device with Electrum. See this article.
644  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Misplaced loaded opendime device , have address on: December 18, 2020, 05:09:04 PM
Can’t I recreate the private key from a new device?

No, OpenDime does not work like other wallets; in fact, it isn't advertised as a wallet, but as a device for F2F transactions without broadcasting anything to the blockchain. You are not supposed to know the private key; that's why there was no backup option.
645  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Misplaced loaded opendime device , have address on: December 18, 2020, 04:47:58 PM
Is there a way to withdraw funds without having the actual usb stick

No, you won't be able to move funds from that address without having the private key which was stored on that OpenDime. Unless you have unsealed your device and copied the private key from it, there is nothing you can do.
646  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: The Lightning Network FAQ on: December 18, 2020, 04:41:37 PM
Shower thought. The reason why exchanges have never/will never implement Lightning for lower fees is not because of UI/UX issues, or the absence of business development for Lightning. It's because exchanges want more altcoin usage, and to collect fees from trading.

Kraken has just announced that they are going to enable withdrawals and deposits over the Lightning Network in the first half of the next year. Do you think it will set off a chain reaction among other exchanges?
647  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Increasing transaction fee for already sent btc on: December 18, 2020, 04:17:52 PM
I have just tried working with it, and I have ransacked my electrum but can't see, "history" tab, may be I should make it clear/mark it out that am using the electrum on my phone and not a personal computer, although I clicked on the unconfirmed transaction itself but can't see "Bump fee", maybe their are difference between mobile phones and computer systems.

Can you check if you have "Replace-by-fee" enabled in the Electrum settings? If so, you should see a "Bump fee" button in the transaction details in the bottom-left corner.

So am asking so I don't fall into the wrong hands -scams- is there a way to increase an already sent transactions, and the wallet was electrum, pls I would appreciate it.

Yes, it is fairly easy. If you are running the latest version of Electrum then every of your transactions should be marked as replaceable by default. You only need to right-click on the transaction in the "History" tab and select "Bump fee".

651  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Payments still haven't sent after almost 24 hours on: December 17, 2020, 02:06:56 PM
Two payments in electrum history just say "Unconfirmed" and threee say "Unconfirmed parent", and it's been stuck like that for 24 hours now.

The transaction fees have spiked significantly. Now, you need to pay about 120 sat/byte to get a transaction confirmed in the next block. If any of these transactions is urgent then you can bump its fee by right-clicking on the transaction and selecting "Bump fee".
652  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: How To Choose My First Hard Wallet on: December 17, 2020, 08:07:10 AM
Trezor does have an existing SD card seed extraction vulnerability but that requires physical access and the passphrase to be cracked. Not a very big deal but it's definitely something to be concerned about. (If I'm wrong, please correct me. I haven't been following Trezor for awhile).

The SD card reader actually helps to mitigate the seed extraction vulnerability because along with the PIN, the secret stored on the SD card encrypts the storage. Unfortunately, the SD card reader is available only on the Trezor T and the SD card protection can't be turned on easily. The passphrase cannot be extracted since it is never saved anywhere. It is a big deal for people who store their devices out of their sight for long periods of time.
653  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: How many failed PIN attempts does Trezor Model T wallet allow? on: December 14, 2020, 04:09:52 PM
I have a question regarding these delays that Trezor has in connection to the PIN entry. Each time you enter a wrong PIN, they will make you wait a bit before your can try again. How big of a waiting period are we talking about? And one more thing.

1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, 2048, 4096, 8192, 16384, 32768 seconds for each attempt respectively. After the 16th attempt, the device is wiped.

Do the failed attempts reset to 0 after some time has passed? Let's say I used the wrong PIN 10 times. Will those 10 wrong attempts still be valid after a day/week/year?

As far as I know, the failed attempts reset only if you enter the correct PIN.
654  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: How many failed PIN attempts does Trezor Model T wallet allow? on: December 13, 2020, 11:13:53 PM
It takes seconds to employ those features.

I have already pointed out some time ago in a reply to one of your posts that it won't be that easy for the majority of Trezor owners. Both of these features cannot be enabled in neither the web interface nor Trezor Suite (yet); trezorctl is required. I highly doubt that an average user knows about these features and the vulnerability affecting their device.
655  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: How many failed PIN attempts does Trezor Model T wallet allow? on: December 10, 2020, 02:40:41 PM
Why would you say in public exact amount of Bitcoins you have and want to store on Trezor or any other wallet?

That was supposed to be a joke. Take a closer look at the small text under the links.
656  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Lost password to my wallet but have the seed. Cant use seed to create new wallet on: December 10, 2020, 01:02:40 PM
Now whenever I try to create a new wallet, on mobile it doesn't have the option to input numbers at all [...]

There is a little gear icon right next to the "Enter your seed phrase". There is an "Extend Seed" option there.

[...] and on PC when I do, it doesn't let me continue as the "Next" option is greyed out.

Did you select "Options -> Extend this seed with custom words" under the field where you enter your recovery phrase? You have to select that option, enter your seed, press "Next" and then enter your passphrase.
657  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: How many failed PIN attempts does Trezor Model T wallet allow? on: December 09, 2020, 10:09:19 PM
I wonder how many failed PIN attempts are allowed before this device wipes itself out or locks up indefinitely? On Trezor Wiki it says 16 times then Trezor will wipe out data, but Google search returns different answer. Some Redit posts say there is no hard limit but after each failed attempt the delay time increases exponentially, and at some point the time is like infinity. There is also a story on wired.com about a guy forgetting his Trezor PIN and each time he failed the delay got longer. So which answer is correct?

It is just like the Trezor wiki says - your device will be wiped after 16 failed attempts. Each time you enter a wrong PIN, the delay increases twofold. By the way, since you have the model T, you might be interested in the SD card protection feature. It helps to mitigate the unfixable seed and PIN extraction attack.

Ou.. ele precisa estar com a carteira aberta para receber os fundos..

That's exactly it. They even explicitly state it under the QR code of the payment request.

Não sei quais carteiras permitem o recebimento pela LN quando estão fechadas (acredito que a Electrum é uma que não aceita).. Vi uma "lista" essa semana em algum lugar porém não vou achar.

I can't find it either. BlueWallet is the only wallet I remember that can process incoming Lightning payments while the app is not running.
660  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Rec ivied payment into wallet showing as unpaid on: December 09, 2020, 02:00:15 PM
but my wallet is showing as unpaid in received screen and im not sure why it wont update in history careen and balance

Can you see a red/green dot or blue arrows in the bottom-right corner of Electrum? If you can't see a green dot then it's a connectivity problem; in such a case, try restarting Electrum; it should connect to a different server automatically.
