641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: People who selling their alts by today's price will regret after 2-3 years on: February 13, 2014, 09:35:47 PM
Agree or disagree? I think people who sold their litecoin year ago already regretting.

Most alts will die so most likely not. Unless you are unlucky and sell one of the few that might make it and even outperform the btc price increase.

Right now it is probably smart to sell useless coins and pick coins that might have some advantage over btc. Personally I have sold all unorginal coins like feathercoins, megacoins etc. Coins that don't offer any advantages over btc. And bought peercoin for long term holding (proof of stake, erergy efficent) and anoncoin because of their progress on zerocoin implentation and anonymity features in general.

Total buy orders for iXcoin on cryptsy is 2,74 btc. That is how much your 100k coins are worth.

646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DGC] DigitalCoin | Secure. Established. Active Development | Only 9% Mined on: February 07, 2014, 06:35:32 PM
Digitalcoin AND CryptoAve should learn a very very important lesson from Worldcoin and Scharmbeck. Being tied too closely together can spell disaster for the coin under certain circumstances. Initially it should be fine for DGC and CryptoAve to be very close, assuming there are not major problems with CryptoAve, but I suggest that as time goes on, they distance themselves from each other a bit (maybe by CryptoAve supporting a couple of other coins among other things), because there is always the chance that the regulators will make new laws that will prohibit CryptoAve, or any other similar entity from operating the way it wants, and this could be a huge problem if tied to close to digitalcoin.

It's still unclear what is going on with Scharmbeck, but I am anticipating they will either dissolve, or there will be a longer delay until they are set up. They have been having problems with depositing funds while in beta. I have been following this very closely. Now, and in the next couple of weeks is a huge opportunity for DGC, if it can step up its game and start marketing, with a new website etc..! There are alot of angry Ex-WDC supporters out there, which could be easily convinced to come aboard the DGC ship. I have been a supporter of both coins for a while, but seeing all the problems with WDC now, and with all the money i've lost because of it, I've had enough with the coin. All aboard the DGC ship!!!

Sharmbeck were suspected to be fraud from the second they announced it. A pump and dump scheme to benefit the insiders. I have not read similiar accusations against cryptoave so i don't think you can compare the two.
647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MRC - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - Now on poloniex.com! on: February 05, 2014, 09:22:54 PM
I fear alienating a lot of people who, when the coin starts to get publicity, will say how the block reward is already falling and 'x' coins have been farmed already by 'y' number of people so its disproportioned. I also think more people involved now wouldn't hurt much, now that Nfactor is gaining recognition. I fear that the "no premine, instamine" will come back to bite us if we have posts here saying we are keeping it on the downlow, basically mining it with however many people there are now till we or someone gets a great portion. that kinda contradicts the no premine/instamine right?

My point exactly.  Smiley
648  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] microCoin MRC - Scrypt-Jane - nFactor - Now on poloniex.com! on: February 05, 2014, 09:06:46 PM
I realize that you might be getting anxious with no microCoin development as of late. We have already stated that for now we will keep a low profile and start marketing more after the block rewards start descending. There has been lots of time and exposure already so anyone who has not taken the chance to look into microCoin has done so out of their own choice. We are currently working on a project that will most likely be very important for microCoin in the long run and will be something we will also be focusing on. You can be sure that we are still continuing development. We just see this a bad time to announce much. After all, microCoin as a whole is more long-term focused.

You don't need to market the coin. But not putting up the webpage is just stupid, and it might backfire and bring a lot of scam accusations if the coin get attention on a later stage (like quark suddenly did).

well the scam accusations will not stick for sure this is the slowest increasing block reward mined coin in crypto history and the initial block reward started at .001... the good thing right now is that the coin is distributed among a bunch of miners instead of just a few whales, so it would take a group of miners to dump their coins to kill prices unlike the usual single whale dump. I and other microcoiners sure don't plan on dumping this coin so future adopters should see it as a positive

The 10k first blocks and the fair launch was great. But the fact is that a very big portion of the total amount of microcoins will be mined the first 12 months. Compare the percent of total coins mined in year 1 for bitcoin and microcoin and you will see what i mean.

If you are afraid of big holders you should really want more miners and more publicity. Both will lead to better distribution. The marketprice is around 1 satoshi now (poleniex ltc market), so the price cant get much lower.  Smiley

I hold a few million and dont plan to sell now, and I think that a webpage is vital at this stage. "Hiding" the coin at the forum for a few months is not the way to go if you want to get accepted later on.

Snylting på trygd og velferdsstaten provoserer folk (flest) langt meir enn myndighetenes ønske om kontroll. At det skal blir enklare for pakket å sende trygda heim til lollistan er isolert sett en negativ konsekvens av cryptocurrency.
651  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: info about zerocoin on: February 04, 2014, 06:04:59 PM
Invest in anoncoin. When zerocoin fails to deliver what they promise with the zerocash project the pirce will surely rice. And anoncoin will probably implement zerocoin before zerocash is released. Atleast thats what i gamble on.  Smiley

This thread is worhtless without a poll.

PPC > $1000 is more likely then nxt > $1.
654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do coins and their founders start a foundation for the coin on: February 01, 2014, 04:35:15 PM
Because it sounds legit (and that is an advantage when they want to get rich).
655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptogenic Bullion | The Virtual Precious Metal | The Next Generation of Crypto on: February 01, 2014, 03:28:54 PM
So what about coins in a paper wallet?   When I eventually import them some day, lets say it is a couple years in the future, will they generate a couple years worth of stake? Or will the stake be lost?

Max coin age for minting is 90 days. You don't generate more stake if you hold longer then that. So to get the highest possible interest rate you would need to import your private key 365/90=4,055 times every year. Or every 90 days to be exact.  Smiley
656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have $1700 USD Make me up a Portfoilo! on: February 01, 2014, 03:18:26 PM
Just buy peercoin and hold for 2 years.  Smiley
657  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptogenic Bullion | The Virtual Precious Metal | The Next Generation of Crypto on: February 01, 2014, 03:11:23 PM
Marketing idea.

I think it might be a good idea to write a blog post about POS minting and promote it on the forum, twitter and facebook. It seems that many people dont know what POS is and even more dont know how to mint. Promoting POS will probably remove a few sell orders on the exchanges and drive the price up.
658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ***** THE ZEROCOIN SOURCE - Truly anonymous coin ***** on: February 01, 2014, 10:42:36 AM
Zerocash sounds like a "get rich quick" scheme.

It seems like the developers had a vision when they first announced zerocoin. Now it seems like they just want to get rich.
659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Google search of "cryptocurrency". The results UPSET me. on: January 31, 2014, 02:18:41 PM
Do you think everyone get the same hits that you do?  Smiley

I don't get any doge related hits when i google that world. The word is not mentioned once on the first page.
660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are your top 5 alt coins, in order? on: January 30, 2014, 03:48:09 PM
Anoncoin. It tries to be and deliver something bitcoin cant. And that cant be said about many coins.
