No, what you see in the pic is one cable, the box says 6 x PCI-e which is technically true due to the 3 cables having 2 connectors

Heres a pic, came with 3 of these lol.. You can see te thicker wire but after it splits to the second SLI plug the wire is thinner

I got one of these on from a slickdeals frontpage deal for 90 bucks

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182285

and it says 6x 6+2 pci-e

but in actuality its 3 cables that split into 2 PCIE connectors for each cable (albeit with a slightly thicker gauge wire, but still)

I cannot safely run 2 S3's off these right? (was planning on doing one overclocked and one stock for a total of 6 pci-e cables)

you should get 4 850 watt psu's your psu's should only be running about 60% to stay in the efficiency range.

thats if you get poor quality psu's
653  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: July 02, 2014, 07:13:59 PM
So I've ordered 4 of these S3's out of the batch1 and will be running them off of a 1000w Rosewill Capstone 80+gold and a 850w evga G2 gold

out of the specs the rosewill has 6 pci-e and the evga also has 6 pci-e

knowing this I will probably only be able to overclock 1 per PSU on 4 of the connectors, and the other s3 running stock on the remaining 2 connectors

Guys I dont have a fancy multimeter, would it be possible to just pencil mod the resistors without a multimeter with a #2 pencil?  maybe just a few strokes on each to see what I get? then lower freq to 300 or so?

yeah you could .  nothing cheaper then that.   just don't blame anyone if it burns up.

I used to do that with my red fury usb sticks worked fine.

remember this gear cost more and uses more power.  but 2 pencil strokes with medium pressure  should work okay.  saves 10-15 bucks on the meter.

edit:

 good you purchased a meter

yeah 7 bucks isnt bad, and its amazon so technically I could just return it after i use it  Grin

might come in handy for the s3's however, so maybe ill hang onto it
