what is going on with this coin ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) Too many dumpers and not enough buyers? There was an initial "easy mine" period and I am assuming we have to work our way through that initial dumping phase. The future of this coin, who knows, like any of these new alts, its anyone's guess. I have loaded up on it and hope that as the value begins to rise I can start helping inside reddit with some tipping and giveaways.

Loving would be easy if your colors were like my dreams, Red gold and green, red gold and green. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JmcA9LIIXWw&feature=kpIf there was someway to get Boy George to endorse our coin, much success and karma would be spread. I blew my BTC load at 5 and 4 satoshi, wish I still had one more bullet or really more guts to snag some at 3 and maybe 2 satoshi!! Craziness. Ground floor anyone? Next stop da Moon!

Bitcoin is a top-down system with a final boss. Good day.
Like Apple? Bitcoin will rise like the Phoenix in the coming weeks. The new bottom has been found and now people will be ready to invest in it. so many of the people I know, that trade commodities, say this needed to happen before they got in. I think we will be stronger because of this and see it back to $1k in a few months. May have to adjust my guess of $1650 year end price that I made on New Years Day. time to load up boys!!

Too bad, the legendary pizza buyer is no longer here since June 2012.
I think he lives a few miles from me, would love to buy him a beer sometime, he is/was a visionary.

Interesting, thanks for the info. My wallet already synced after 2 days nonstop so I can't test it out.
It is helpful to download bootstrap.dat via torrent for new users as well.
Did this and still doesn't speed up the process. Why doesn't bitcoin-qt use the torrents to download the blockchain on its own?
|
|
|
The location of the data directory has not changed. It should be "/Users/<your-user-name>/Library/Application Support/Bitcoin". If you didn't find it, then you were probably looking in the wrong spot...
Just put the bootstrap.dat file there, and reopen Bitcoin-Qt.
You were right, Library was grayed out and I thought that I couldn't explore it, wrong, found it. Thanks! UPDATE: I put that bootstrap.dat file in that folder and Bitcoin-qt is not recognizing that file or is just ignoring it. Is there anything else I needed to do with Bitcoin-qt in order for it to use the bootstrap.dat? Thanks

Hi everyone,
Hope you can help me and the internet with an issue. Recently downloaded Bitcoin-qt 0.8.6 macosx and its taking FOREVER to download the block chain. Yes I checked No Nap to allow it download entirely before Mavericks puts it asleep. My question is, I already downloaded the bootstrap.dat from the torrents, how do I make Bitcoin-qt see bootstrap.dat? There was no library\application support\bitcoin folder created with this release of Bitcoin-qt. I did create that folder and copy pasted the 13GB blockchain file.
Any ideas of how to speed this process up?
TIA

I already have added a credit card. I have looked through the list and have done everything. I'm listed at level 2. I should be able to buy at least one BTC. Yet they offer only .1 to .25 at the most. ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) Even if I could only get 1 BTC at a time I could deal with it without much of a problem. But this is a ridiculous low amount. I guess I'll just take a few out of my stash and buy what I want. Then order the same amount from Coinbase each time. What a headache. I'm at a total $183USD limit per day of instant. What gives??

Genesis block funding occurred in late Sept 2013 when one Bitcoin was worth approximately $130.00 USD. All those that gave 1BTC received somewhere near 47M NXT, which today is worth approximately 3.29M USD. This could be, perhaps, the best return on investment the world has ever seen.
Their initial cost per NXT was $0.000002765USD. Selling their NXT today would earn $0.07USD. This equates to a 25,300% gain on investment in just four months!
Wanted to post before the forum is locked for posterity.

my BFL 30GH/s arrived the week before Thanksgiving, Mid November, I logged into eligius and got the hasing going using BFG. After 36 hours of mining I had earned .023 BTC and immediately sold on ebay for $400 profit @$1800.00. I don't want this to become yet another horrific BFL story but just wish I had listened to a lot of the advice on this forum back in June when I had ordered it. Many said, Just Buy BitCoins, and I balked and ignored. Who knew?!?!
I thought about mining another Alt 256 but didn't have the confidence in the others to make it worth it IMO. I went ahead just bought 4.1 BTC and invested in 1.5BTC into LTC, PPC, XPM, and NXT to spread it around a bit. Good luck everyone!
