wow. The Monetary Unit (MUE | http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/monetaryunit/) logo looks good!

Portdavenport Wink
If you mean the logo above, then that's not the new MUE logo.
It's for one of our multiple side projects called MUEX Wink

Sounds really good bizzyb, can't wait to start the beta testing!
I do assume that there will be clients for Linux/OSX/Windows? Any plans for docker images or virtual machine appliances as well?
I am not sure, but can the client/daemon run well under FreeBSD? There used to be build instructions for Unix, although I don't know if they are valid or just a leftover template from the BTC repository.
Once our gitian build is sorted that will allow us to do all the usual compiles.
We'll then automate builds from github commits using Travis so the binaries are always synced with the actual repository.

Docker images, Azure auto builds etc are also planned in post release.

I can't comment right now about FreeBSD or build instructions, hopefully these will also be addressed shortly after migration.

Cheers

B

Just a quick update regarding the X11 migration.

We can now compile Linux & Linux QT wallets with no errors.

The Windows QT wallet was having issues with the daemons connecting & we appear to have resolved that now and it compiles.

We are working on the gitian build so that we can compile all versions for all OSs.  This is in end stage.

So, progress continues and we get ever closer to releasing for the public Beta testing.

Thanks again for your patience & support Smiley

We will bring it into our systems hopefully next week and the pool fee will be 0%.
That's right, nada, nothing, zero!

Market danger delist, need more volume Smiley

Low volume is the the mechanism for filtering out coins that are not performing.

MUE needs more communication and action to avoid loss of confidence. Come on guys, let's rock and roll.

BITTREX as at October 26, 2016 AEST GMT +10:00 hrs |

This market is in danger of de-listing due to low trade volume and lack of user interest. It may be removed on Friday, October 28th 2016 unless the average daily trade volume for the last 14 days exceeds 0.3 BTC. If you would like to keep the market listed, please encourage the development team to contact us at support@bittrex.com. PS. What's the game plan? Or what can DEV / Community do? Thoughts... Ideas?

The low volume on trex is a symptom of the delays, which is understandable.
I've e-mailed trex about our plans, PM'd them in Slack, and posted in the Slack channel.
Volume has picked up and we have engaged with them, one would hope they would make the pragmatic decision and keep us listed.

We are at the very near end game of the new X11/MN wallets.
We are experiencing some issues compiling, which is occuring at the very late stages of the compile process.
As you can see from our github https://github.com/muecoin/monetaryunit-x11 plenty has and is being done.
We just need to tweak these last few gremlins.

Again, I'm sorry for the delays, we are just people trying to fit into our spare time to make this project a success, and with most things, there are always little obstacles that get in the way.
We're just in the process of kicking the hell out of them to move them Smiley

Thanks for your continued support, it is sincerely appreciated.

what compilation issues are you experiencing ...

id be interested in having a go also ...

See how you get on

Any feedback appreciated

edit: btw This is 3 days out of date, we have some additions to make still.

It appears our home page has been infected with malware.

I've re-directed DNS for www.MonetaryUnit.org to come to this thread.  Please be aware this can take 24-48 for thet DNS to propagate completely.

I'll nuke & rebuild the site as soon as I am able.

Thanks to cryptolix for the heads up

is dev still active?
Hi, yes we're still here Smiley

Volume on Trex has increased and I have contacted Bittrex as well to let them know we are still active and finishing off the code base for the public beta testing of X11/MasterNodes.

We're a little delayed granted, but we're still busy putting things together in the background which should all be very interesting once they come together.

No active nodes for Windows wallet or Android? Can we not sync up and mine still or is something being changed?
Hmmm should be fine

Hey bizzyb,
I've been meaning to ask you about the block rewards, mue is different in that it has a constant 40 mue per block. what were the thoughts behind this concept? Pros / cons? I see that other coins have decreasing block rewards but mue is different in that the constant reward may give an increased incentive over time to participate, rather than getting in early and dumping before moving on. Any other comments in regards to the maintained block reward?

I think it's a good concept and would like to see it maintained unless there seems to be some unforeseen problems down the road.
Hey  Smiley

Have you seen how the block reward started?

0.025 MUE reward for first 40,000 blocks (54 MUE/day) - completed
1 MUE reward for next 40,000 blocks (2160 MUE/day) - completed
2 MUE reward for next 40,000 blocks (4320 MUE/day) - completed
4 MUE reward for next 40,000 blocks (8640 MUE/day) - completed
8 MUE reward for next 40,000 blocks (17280 MUE/day) - completed
10 MUE reward for next 40,000 blocks (21600 MUE/day) - completed
20 MUE reward for next 40,000 blocks (43200 MUE/day) - completed
30 MUE reward for next 40,000 blocks (64800 MUE/day) - completed
40 MUE reward thereafter (~86400 coins per day)

I was creating an "anti-coin" really.
Low rewards to put people off that I didn't want involved with the project.
MASSIVE premine (40 million  mue)
Long term inflation of "about" 3% PA

http://www.monetaryunit.org/muestuff/slowing-inflation-rate-of-monetaryunit/

The name, the acronym, the meanings, the 40 all tie in together
mue/mu means loads of different things in different languages etc such as 40, new skin, not being without, I forget the rest - it all fell in place

On an economical perspective, MOST crypto "pretend" to have value due to scarcity.

A lot of them are like being the very last species specific turd.
You can't force value into something that it's only unique feature is scarcity!

BTC is the crypto equivalent of the current 1% financial bias, as in 1% have the majority of the wealth.
MUE, while yes, there are big holders, unless they continue to be involved, mine, MN, invest etc, their holdings (assuming no increase in the value of MUE) will be degraded by the inherent inflation.

It also means opportunities should always exist for people to get involved, whether it is mining, investing, buying, etc etc

So, no traditional block reward on launch, and an atypical block reward on going (well, for at least the next 130 years or so)
and an attempt to be inclusive hence MUE - me, u everybody.

Wonderful post bizzyb. I've supported MUE since day 1 of CPU mining with 0.0025 block rewards and will continue to do so!
Thanks NSF, those were fun times right!  Cheesy

You've been a massive help over that time, always ready to listen to my next hair brained scheme or idea and provide always valuable feedback, cheers for that.

I'm just massively excited that with the team this project has we are taking it forward from a hobby project and looking at really significant mainstream use, which both excites & scares me, which makes it even more motivational!

Bring.
It.
On.
656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MonetaryUnit [MUE] Quark based, CPU mining, faucet, explorer, pool, wallet on: October 17, 2016, 01:44:17 PM
Dear all, my poor humour aside I just want to re-iterate.

I started this project over 2 years ago.
Plenty mocked the concept or just ignored it.
I have stuck by this project, put in a significant amount of time and money to keep it afloat, and will continue to stick by this project.

The "brand" MonetaryUnit, whilst humble by following and meek in price, is well respected and trusted by the crypto community.
This is something that CANNOT be bought.

One of the reasons is we have always endeavoured to do as we say.  No huge hype or fanfare.  Just get on and do it.

This project was never set up to be an also ran.
This project will either totally fail in trying, or be a major player amongst the elite of crypto currencies.
I don't do half measures.  I am all or nothing.

Acting in good faith, you can see the things we are working on, the things we have worked on, and the things we are going to work on.
https://tree.taiga.io/project/monetaryunit-monetaryunit/kanban

This is not a delusional or fictitious graphic.
We fully commit to realise these things.

Price is not our driver.
Our driving force is being MUE.
Doing what we think will be creative and beneficial.
Doing what will boost interest.
Doing things differently just because we can.
Doing things, and trying to do them right for mutual benefit to all.

Ultimately we love crypto and freedom and will continue to do what we're doing.

Cheers

B

Hey BizzyB, that post about #manflu didn't make any sense.
17 million?
150% seems a bit high.

Maybe my humor and sarcasm is off today Wink
Sorry, lost in translation due to British Humour.  It probably struggles to even be British humour  Grin

Thanks for challenging my statistics though, you are correct, entirely fictional.

Don't suffer in silence.
Don't just be a statistic.
The taboo of talking about #manflu must stop.

Over 17 billion men suffer over 150% of all illness related sob stories due to this malicious virus.

You are not alone.
