One thing that may not be clear for everyone: we are talking about an officially sanctionned, legally-recognised Fund under the French jurisdiction (with all the tax-deductible thing also). Not a Facebook fan page or the like.
If you want to read (or stress-test) the bylaws, follow the mintcointalk page link above.

that does not matter so much. i can setup a (legal) official charity fund as well. quite easily. the price of mintcoin matters and the amount donated to the funds. also cooperation with large charity organisations/other sustainability funds helps.

any progress on that?
642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MINT]Mintcoin, Energy Saving Coin *20 Exchanges *26 Merchants on: March 22, 2014, 05:44:57 PM
i think it is a great idea. do not get me fully wrong. but deadmanwalking is right i think.

leafcoin has 11 million in their foundation. they convert it to trees, they have a cooperation with the worldwildlife fund and still their price is 1 satoshi.

i dont think it will help increasing value.

but maybe i am wrong. lets hope so.
643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MINT]Mintcoin, Energy Saving Coin *20 Exchanges *26 Merchants on: March 22, 2014, 05:40:54 PM
that is why it does not work for leafcoin. currently.
644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MINT]Mintcoin, Energy Saving Coin *20 Exchanges *26 Merchants on: March 22, 2014, 05:35:53 PM
if i am correct this is the same idea as leafcoin. it did not save them.
645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MINT]Mintcoin, Energy Saving Coin *20 Exchanges *26 Merchants on: March 22, 2014, 05:30:18 PM
a foundation? thats it? can you explain what makes this foundation different from other foundations?

sorry, i expected more.

this is another stolen idea.

hint to do multipool:

setup stratum,
setup multiple wallets,
setup software to determine most profitable coin,

hashTime=difficulty * (pow(2.0, 32) / (hashRate * 1000.0))
blocksPerDay = (24.0 * 3600.0)/hashTime
coinsPerDay = coinsPerBlock*blocksPerDay

setup wrapper class to cryptsy ( sell, etc ),
setup database registration of shares ( reuse stratum db )
if most profitable coin, change config, hotload new settings using reload_settings.sh,
make a payout module based on shares submitted, weighted for diff.

something like that.

hashcows? try wafflepool.

I was just poking around and came across this link.

http://www.freelancer.ca/projects/Mobile-Phone-Android/DevCoin-Android-Wallet.html

I don't know much about programming but this seems to be for an Android Wallet. Seems to show 5 bids. The average bid was $268 USD.

What am I missing here?

Am I mistaken in that about $300 is what is keeping us from having an Android Wallet for Mintcoin?

If the developer is reluctant to fork over $300 (that they have raised through selling Mintcoin), they are either terrible managers or they don't believe the coin will have a long shelf life. Which is it?

CLUE: develop the platform BEFORE signing up vendors.

it is not a matter of just 300usd. there is more to it then just converting an existing android wallet,.... pos is quite different from powonly coins. pos has to be integrated. i can do a pow wallet in under 3 hours. this one would take at least 3 weeks to complete since there is no available source to copy clone. i don't have 3 weeks of time available. so no, i can not do it. at this time.
649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MINT]Mintcoin, Energy Saving Coin *22 Exchanges *26 Merchants on: March 21, 2014, 02:42:17 PM
I'm currently working to collect the bounty on the Android wallet.  There is still some work to do in the mintcoinj library but the front-end is almost finished.  Here are the current screenshots:

https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0BwpkXqmxmdGScm9lb21pTXhuS00&usp=sharing

careful donating ... could just be photoshopped ...

thats why i mentioned it is not easy to make an android wallet for pos coins.

peercoin has also none. afaik

so any claims about android wallet i see as possibly false/misleading.
Is it even possible to build? Because if it isn't I don't see how lack of it would be a valid indicator.

yes it is possible, you need to migrate the pos code to the (dogecoin|bitcoin|litecoin|...)j already available.

there is no posj yet available.

nobody has cared to do so. so bounty for this wallet should be huge.

no it does not. let me explain.

i am not sure if the dev team can do other things beside copy clone ( another fact: mint is just a copy clone ).

can they innovate. do they understand the actual pos design. are they able to extend bitcoinj to pos.

if so, building a mobile wallet should not be a problem.

if so, future might be secured... i might buy more. if not. i dump all.

i only care about profit. this is just another coin i ride.

If you dump all of your Mintcoins, it means you lose out. Since you are spreading FUD, you should be spreading FUD in order to lower the price to buy. Don't mess it up. You have to buy low, then sell high if you talk about profit. Don't sell while you are spreading FUD, that's just silly. If you can't lower the price anymore with your FUD (there is a big buy wall at 10 satoshis), you should just buy in now. I promise you, it's the smart move. The coin is extremely valuable and it will rise really soon and then you can make profit. Go with me on this one. The developer is excellent and the community is strong and growing -you cannot clone these. This will give you tons of profits.

How is mint just a copy clone? Mint is the first coin to implement PoW/PoS hybrid that goes to 1 coin PoW after the initial PoW phase. Mint is also the first PoW/PoS coin to have a coin cap. The combination of these makes MINT superior in energy efficiency and ability to retain value without being inflated away due to the coin cap. This is a combination of many of the best features of many prior coins, (speed, coin cap, energy efficient, fair distribution) and the combination of such features is what make it new innovation.

how is mint just a copy clone? take velocity coin, use a compare program... you will see that the code, except for the pow engine is equal. changing some parameters is not innovative. also the coin cap, max_money? that is not the coin cap. you have been smoking too much pot.

- speed? copied
- coin cap? does not have one.
- energy efficient? ok
- fair distribution? no. it was hit by multipools.

int64 GetProofOfStakeReward(int64 nCoinAge, unsigned int nBits, unsigned int nTime, int nHeight)
{
    int64 nRewardCoinYear;

   nRewardCoinYear = MAX_MINT_PROOF_OF_STAKE;

   if(nHeight < YEARLY_BLOCKCOUNT)
      nRewardCoinYear = 4 * MAX_MINT_PROOF_OF_STAKE;
   else if(nHeight < (2 * YEARLY_BLOCKCOUNT))
      nRewardCoinYear = 3 * MAX_MINT_PROOF_OF_STAKE;
   else if(nHeight < (3 * YEARLY_BLOCKCOUNT))
      nRewardCoinYear = 2 * MAX_MINT_PROOF_OF_STAKE;

    int64 nSubsidy = nCoinAge * nRewardCoinYear / 365;

   if (fDebug && GetBoolArg("-printcreation"))
        printf("GetProofOfStakeReward(): create=%s nCoinAge=%"PRI64d" nBits=%d\n", FormatMoney(nSubsidy).c_str(), nCoinAge, nBits);
    return nSubsidy;
}

how does it have a max cap?

static const int64 MAX_MONEY = 70000000000 * COIN;         // 70 bil

please explain.

ps. the android wallet is nice. if succeeds. there is a reason why there arent any pos mobile wallets yet.

dont worry. i know what i am talking about. i only bought from the profit i made earlier. no risk. buying more is risk. so i dont do it. unless conditions apply.

also dont be fooled by my user account. this is one of many.

times up... moving to another one.
654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MINT]Mintcoin, Energy Saving Coin *22 Exchanges *26 Merchants on: March 20, 2014, 10:44:52 PM

mobile wallet would show devs capabilities since there is no pos wallet available yet.

demanding a mobile wallet does not mean i love the coin.

655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MINT]Mintcoin, Energy Saving Coin *22 Exchanges *26 Merchants on: March 20, 2014, 10:37:40 PM
it doesnt use energy, so what? i have seen the trading volume decline day by day. that is NOT a good indicator.
I still remember who you are. All your FUD won't bring the price lower than the buy wall. Another guy posted how you want to increase your stash because you love Mintcoin so much. Just buy it at this price. It is a valuable coin. Trading volume has not been decreasing, just buy at this price and stop spreading FUD.

dont talk BS man... i have been watching this coin closely. The volume is declining. fact.

make the mobile wallet!

no way this is going to pass doge.

100-200 satoshi's before april/may? what have you been smoking.... also mint is not holding strong. There is no rise. it stays on same level... indicates lack of buy support. nobody ( no investor ) is willing to take a huge gamble on mint. i think that says all... for now.
659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MINT]Mintcoin, Energy Saving Coin *22 Exchanges *26 Merchants on: March 20, 2014, 10:14:31 PM
