641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CBN makes social media handle mandatory KYC requirement. on: June 24, 2023, 07:33:33 PM
This is crazy and I don't know how una dey take here this news. I have not heard anything of such but if na true then e go be the silliest thing I don hear.

Social media should not be considered as a material for know your customer. Firstly social media accounts can be banned. Do you notify you bank when  ever this happens I don't think so. Also I can have numerous social media accounts do I send them all.

I think the Nigerian government should invest their time and effort more on more important task an CBN can come of with better strategy than this kindergarten stunt.
642  Economy / Economics / Re: What roles does the poor play in the Economy? on: June 24, 2023, 06:53:06 PM
Well firstly no one hopes or pray to be poor it's just a condition they find themselves at, and I must say they have an important role to play in the economy of many nation.

Truth be told it's poor people actually play an important role in the community, most manual labours of any countries are done by the poor, the hardest of the manual labours in industries are done by the poor. The dirtiest but very important jobs of the world are done by the poor, it's sad that even though this set of people are payed less they play and important role in the labour market of any country.
643  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reintroduce myself and anonymously reading in the forum on: June 24, 2023, 06:21:05 PM
Honestly no one really needs to here all this personal details about your life you just gave here. And if you have been here or learnt about this forum since 2016 you should know that majority of what you posted wasn't actually needed.

But to be very kind welcome to the forum but it's sad to say after all those years you still have Alot to learn about the forum. Probably you can go back to some post you should have already seen.

644  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I have been gone for a while on: June 23, 2023, 10:08:34 PM
I have spent three year or so in the forum apart from the quality of starter thread dropping I don't think much has changed on the forum, even if there was a change it is not too noticable. And even though I wasn't here as far back as 2016 I believe in terms of the forum land scape not much has changed.

I believe it would also be best to tell the forum about your previous account since you have already brought it on the table about you being here as far back as 2016 but this account you posting with was registered today
645  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Bitcoin price speculation (BTC/NGN) on: June 23, 2023, 09:26:25 PM
Great news mate I just had to check some of my exchanges but I am yet to see any changes or correction, does it mean that the new decision hasn't yet been Carried out?

And correct me if I am wrong you mean that we would not be using black market price in the market, and now we would ve using the CBN market rate with is lower than the market rate and in my opinion is wrong compared to the black market price. I think this is a downgrade and I would rather prefer selling with the Black market rate.
646  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Terrence Crawford vs Errol Spence - June 17 on: June 23, 2023, 07:42:15 PM

I personally believe that Terrance crowford vs Erroll Spence would be an even bigger match than Tank Davis and Garcia. Terrance crowford vs Erroll Spence Jr has been a match that the boxing world and neutral has been anticipating for a very long time, many has even thought it would be a match we may never see.

This two boxers has proven themselves on various platform through out their careers so far, I am sure it would be amongst the highest grossing boxing match in history.
647  Economy / Economics / Re: Fast Transportation Makes Economic Turnover Faster on: June 23, 2023, 07:19:43 PM
Logically a faster transportation system should bring back good returns and in turn boost the economy, that's true, because alot of things can be done when the pace is increased. But do we always have to think about profits all the time, there are things that should also be regarded in this equation.

We have seen and also read the hazards our carbon emissions Can cause and is causing, I think rather that having a fast transportation with an even higher carbon emissions but plans and investment should be put into a Greener and more efficient transport system.
648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A bitcoin retirement plan with a disturbing length of years. on: June 23, 2023, 06:51:17 PM
From you stand point on this you actually don't believe in Bitcoin, even though I find it weird that you here already and still have doubts about Bitcoin, despite that you are always entitled to your opinion, but this is that rare case someone from this forum comes out open to write that they had a discussion with someone else and tried talking them about their concerns on Bitcoin.

If you don't think Bitcoin would Last as long as 16yrs what makes you feel what ever alternative you have would also last that long, nothing is certain not even fiat, the world keeps advancing and before Fiat we have had other means of exchange. I think your friend is making a smart choice, the only let down I see is that he may be affecting his standard of living giving out that percentage of his salary in saving for Bitcoin depending on what the salary looks like.
649  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Teacher and Classmates Labeling Bitcoin as a Ponzi Scheme or a Scam on: June 23, 2023, 05:56:37 PM
Pls I don't think all this story about one's family and bitcoin and all that we keep getting is necessary, I think we all have that every day encounter with our friends and relatives in relation to Bitcoin but if we all bring that here it would be an eye saw. This isn't a story forum or something in that direction.

I think many members are now taking this sort of things too far and it's dropping the general quality of the forum, I believe there are members that can put anyone making such post on mute, it's a bit annoying.
650  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: It's Bitcoin trust worthy on: June 22, 2023, 09:27:13 PM
Be warned Bitcoin is not a platform, I believe you have been investing in Ponzi schemes that all claims to be Crypto-currency based but the truth is that they Are Not. And you are still referring to Crypto-currency as a platform, you would continue to loses money if you don't spend time to actually learn.

Investing in Bitcoin is great but also pay attention to how to Buy Bitcoin securely and also how to save Bitcoin in your personal wallet.

651  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Rural vs Urban Awareness? on: June 22, 2023, 08:51:07 PM

Specifically in Cameroon, Nigeria and Ghana where I have stayed in at different time, I discovered many rural areas in this countries still find it difficult differentiating Bitcoin from Ponzi schemes. In this case will sensitising people in this areas be a vain adventure following their  mindset.

The comparison of Bitcoin with ponzi schemes has nothing to do with rural areas in those countries you mentioned it's actually lack of interest from the people you had contact with. There is hardly a place you go to in a country like Nigeria and see young people atleast not having a Mobile phone or asses to the internet.

But depending on people's knowledge or interest some just writes Bitcoin off as a Ponzi scheme. I have a brother who is in the UK that feels same way and he isn't interested in getting to know more.
652  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Am new on: June 22, 2023, 06:53:47 PM
Well one confusion, is that many newbies here wants to have everything at once, you can't just come into the forum and expect that you would learn everything you want to learn here all at once.

As a newcomer take your time, don't just come into the forum and put pressure on yourself in any way, or feel the forum demands anything from you all at once, and I can actually blame the vision of earning many newbies had before joining. Learning is a process and it takes time according to the individual newbie.
653  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Politicians and highly placed officials to receive 114% salary raise on: June 22, 2023, 06:31:41 PM
I still dey maintain my stand as not a fan of Bola Ahmed Tinubu but I always try to be reasonable as possible, I had to check the site you got the news to see if it's authentic even at that many newspaper houses in the country don't verify their news properly and mainly right what the feel can get attention and give them more money.

So I would keep researching on this news to see if it's true but the bigger picture is that the masses are being left out in the country and it did not start now. The salary difference between politicians and the masses are enormous coupled with the allowance and benefits the politicians earn. It's all laughable.
654  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Investors Confidence in Bitcoin💪 on: June 22, 2023, 05:32:27 PM
Firstly a Bitcointalk account should be treated as something private, so I would not encourage you action of login in with your brothers ID, it's bridging the privacy rights, even if your brother has no problem with it, I believe you are still new in Crypto-currency and need to start early to cultivate the habit of learning how to protect your private properties. By the way he could have rather told you how to have a Bitcointalk account of your own.

Regardless I hope you start to pick up the right things from now on because Bitcoin is no respecter of your interest in it, if you make wrong moves you could get financially hurt.
655  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto scam on: June 21, 2023, 09:45:00 PM
Reading from the beginning of your post I thought you were scammed but after reading through your post I now see you are the one trying to scam.

Going back the knowledge or saying that don't invest more than you can afford to lose meaning you invested $2000 you should probably have more than that.

Why do you think we should give you anything because you got scammed, we did not scam you and if you had made profit you won't give any to us. Learn from your mistake if there was any.
656  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: The 10% Cripto SCAM on: June 21, 2023, 08:57:33 PM
When ever you intuition gives you that signal that you are about to get scammed make sure to always try as much as possible to trust that feeling, this has been the downfall of many when they see all the red flags about a potential scam and they still go ahead to fall for the scam.

You story right there is a pure scam no two ways about it, there is nothing like the Blockchain blocking your withdrawal, you only have transaction fees when trying to withdraw or commission fee if it's from an exchange and this can be taking from the fund and not requiring you to send additional funds for anything.
657  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would Bitcoin become The General Currency in the Future? on: June 19, 2023, 07:40:26 PM
This week alone this would be possible be the fifth or more time I would be seeing this type of question here on the forum. The future is important but if we think too much about the future and neglect the present then I am sorry to say that there won't be any future to start with.

I think the idea of a general currency has for long had it negative effect on the world economy, we have seen the UD dollar hold that position even if it's not the highest value currency in terms of exchange price rate.

I think we need a new standard world currency and it must be neutral, not under the control of any government and Bitcoin fits perfectly into this role. I hope it happens.
658  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Scam de for p2p transactions? on: June 18, 2023, 08:56:52 PM
Yes there is a potential scam threat in every p2p (peer to peer) transaction, it's never completely safe. Peer to peer transaction is a transaction which can be about buy and selling of crypto-currency the medium exchange can be crypto to Fiat, or crypto for another crypto.

You can actually do peer to peer on an exchange with good track record or you can do it with individuals some popularly refer to them as vendors, the former is safer than the later, but using escrow on both medium cab bring down the risk of scam. Also if you be the sell then make you check and confirm your bank account has received payment before giving the go ahead to release funds.
659  Economy / Economics / Re: I don't believe you on: June 18, 2023, 08:16:40 PM
Well is not that easy to thinks you can just wake up and decide to elope with someone or your customers funds, if it was easy the everyone would be doing it. I don't know how it's done in your country but take for example banks in my country, there is a particular huge money the central Bank of my countries demands banks to pay as guarantee and you can't function without it, many bank couldn't so the folded or merged with other banks. this are part of the regulations to prevent such instances you made from happening.

In terms, of exchange we have seen with the FTX case that some owners are actually dishonest but they would always face the law and get charged when they act like thieves, but the threat is still there. One way to limit your risk is don't keep your funds in an exchange when you not using the funds.
660  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Apart from "OP" any other slag every beginner needs to know? on: June 18, 2023, 07:19:56 PM
The last post I found about abbreviations was in the Filipino language back in 2017. I kindly request anyone here to share some slang terms with me as I believe they would be helpful not only to me but also to other newbies.

You just created an account a few hours before the time of your post, and you have already explored the forum and found out the meaning of OP in a post far back in 2017. I'm just curious how fast you are learning and moving around the forum.

Well mate it sounds suspicious that's certain but we still need to also give the OP the benefits of the doubt and also it's possible to actually have been doing your research or you may have also been seeing things happening on the forum without registering.

The forum is open to those who aren't registered their limitations is that they can't write but they can watch, this is a possible case for the OP.
