641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who to blame for the increasing transaction fee? on: February 05, 2017, 11:49:18 AM
Surprisingly at the time I write this post there is only 4323 Unconfirmed Transactions listed: https://blockchain.info/unconfirmed-transactionsthis
So we don't have constant problems with the network as many FUDers would like us to belive. But I agree, fees are getting ridiculous, they quadrupled in comparison to what we had in 2015.
642  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🥇 🥈 🥉 21PEAS.com [⚡️⚽️🎾🎲💣⚔️🔒 🤑] entertainment dir on: February 05, 2017, 11:42:49 AM
The more consolidated info pages and directories with gambling links, reviews and opinions the better.
I am not sure if focusing on referrals is that great idea to follow. I would rather see standard ads and referral free service.

Yay for pictures!
643  Economy / Speculation / Re: $200 is on the way on: February 03, 2017, 07:57:18 PM
today

LOL
Check January 2014 situation.
You can't compare directly past market events and expect it will be the same. You base your dark prophecy only on a fact that after 2013 ATH bubble bitcoin crashed.
Just because we reached +$1000 nowm it doesn't mean BTC will crash so hard again. Reasons of crash after that historic bull run:

- it was caused by MtGox fall - the biggest bitcoin exchange hack ever
- bitcoin adoption at that time was significantly lower that it is now
- margin trading was basic way for Chinese speculators to trade, and we know how leverage trading is influencing trades, every price drop is multiplied

644  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Zero One - a new church/religion on: February 03, 2017, 07:28:42 PM
I see strong logical dissonance here. When your religion is based on "facts, truths, and axioms" then why do you call it a religion then? It is called science.

Overall, I see that you want to create religion based on technical cliches, linking it with promises of enlightenment. I am not impressed.

And of course as always - donations are integral part of every religion, the more you donate the bigger believer you are Wink

645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Newbie wants to create new altcoin on: February 03, 2017, 07:16:27 PM
It is painfully obvious  that you don't want to create new coin because you have some new concept or solution, but to earn money by copy pasting existing code and create shitcoin #2139
Don't wast your time and effort, when people realize that your coin is nothing new and is a money grabbing attempt they will ditch it fast. Focus your time on supporting good coins instead.
646  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When did you start gambling? (Because of BCT Promotion?) on: February 03, 2017, 07:06:04 PM
It is funny how you mentioned Games and Rounds sub-section. I never had much luck leeching giveaways from that section, so after initial spike of interest I gave up.

So no, G&R section was definitely not the reason. I remember that I got fascinated by Slots machines when I was a kid, the lights, the sounds and interactions with one-armed bandits seemed so cool back then.

647  Economy / Speculation / Re: Say bye to Triple Digits on: February 03, 2017, 06:54:28 PM
I'd like to see $1,000 as a new support level, I'd love to never again see sub $1,000 but I fear we probably will.

It will be hard to achieve. Many people see $1000 as psychological barrier. I know many claims from traders saying: if bitcoin will reach $1000 then this price is good for me to sell.
There are a lot of weak hands there, shortsighted people who don't believe that price of BTC may and will go much higher than $1000.
648  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Running a node and legal concerns on: February 03, 2017, 06:41:02 PM
Running a node is not problematic at all. You don't have to dedicate resources or sacrifice your machine processing power to run a node. It is also safe no matter what transaction bitcoin network is processing.

If bitcoin it legal (i.e. not banned openly) in your country and you are using your private owned machine to run a node, there is zero legal problems you may encounter.

Be wary about running a node at your workplace - it is usually undesired, unless you are confident enough you can get away with this.
649  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-01-20] The worst case speculation after PBOC inspection on: February 03, 2017, 06:35:05 PM
"Drop in liquidity".... yeah, sure thing.

All I know is we've ground steadily higher above 1,000 without a Chinese leverage party to crash the gates this time. So you can take your quotables and shove them where the sun doesn't shine.
I wish it was really the case this time. I's love to see that current bubble is organic and sustainable, that with $1000 we reached new price floor.
But from what I see there is always something that will pop up and crash the bulls party, with first ATH it was MtGox crash, with second, earlier this year it was PBOC intervention.
I wonder what it will be now.
650  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: As it turns out, Craig Wright actually is Satoshi! on: February 03, 2017, 06:28:21 PM
I can't make coindesk as a official news caterer for Altcoins as it can create news without sources or anything in other words they just make stories up or make news that is what already on the internet. They put some attractive headlines just to click the link to their website which is like a click bait in which they can monetize.
Isn't this exactly the way media works nowadays? Do you know reliable source of bitcoin related information, not biased by their agenda or connections?

Building up a drama is primary aim of every news network, bitcoin related or not, the worst or more scandalous the news is, the better.

Wright's case shouldn't be appearing on news sites anymore, since there is only presumptive evidence available of him being linked to Satoshi anyway.
651  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which dice site to use for huge bet? (100BTC+) on: February 02, 2017, 09:59:18 PM
Risking that much in one single bet is Madness. Even with a low multiplier. I never forget a 98% bet on PrimeDice with 10btc that was a red roll. Shocked
For poor people like us high bets like that are insane. But what if Op is early adopter with thousands of BTC stashed?
I doubt anyone will be so desperate/foolish enough to bet his entire bankroll at once.
I still think that betting such high amount is not wise, it will be good publicity stunt and cover story for news article but nothing more.
652  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Poll: Is the creation of artificial superinteligence dangerous? on: February 02, 2017, 09:40:46 PM
Some amazing and very fitting thought I leave up here to ponder: "I am not afraid of an AI which can pass Turing test, I am terrified of one that intentionally fails it."

Also I seen someone compared AI to an animal in this thread, don't do that, animals can't be programmed or reasoned with.
Advanced AI is far different than that, IMO. I heard that some scientists are trying to base their neuron network of animals brains because of less complexity, but still it is an AI.
We can implement possible directives and kill switches into it, unlike animals.
653  Economy / Speculation / Re: it IS time for rise on: February 02, 2017, 09:13:14 PM
You're right, it hit $1000. I still think it's too high for me to buy. We'll have a correction at some point.
At some point $1000 (or even more in the future) will be standard floor ceiling for bitcoin's price. Bitcoin is expected to go far, far higher than that.
So you won't buy it even when you know that buying it know is an investment which could earn big money in the near future?
654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wright IS Satoshi - but Bitcoin is ABOUT POKER - he wants to hide! on: February 02, 2017, 09:06:17 PM
Thanks franky1 for that detailed explanation.

It was painfully obvious that Craig's behavior is a proof that he is trying to cover some elaborate scam, you pointed that out and it the best explanation I heard so far.

At this time I regret that we don't have real Satoshi around to contact us anonymously with another message, like he did when Dorian Nakamoto was suspected of being Satoshi.

Although it is not certain that "I'm not Dorian Nakamoto" post was genuine.
655  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-02-01] Bitcoin is busting out on: February 02, 2017, 08:55:04 PM
What is interesting is that this article is not from standard bitcoin news portal like CoinDesk, CoinTelegraph. These types of positive articles are standard there.
But instead it's a news from Business Insider, general business related site focused more on traditional old school economic news. It is a sign that bitcoin is breaking through.
656  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: What happen to butterfly labs? on: February 02, 2017, 08:46:53 PM
Butterfly Lavs turned out to be fraud company, deceiving their customers. As usuall BFL started as great startup and ended as the target of a federal investigation.
Pieces of hardware clients ordered were delayed or never delivered. In January 2016 company was still taking orders and failed to deliver. I think they are completely gone now.

657  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wright IS Satoshi - but Bitcoin is ABOUT POKER - he wants to hide! on: February 02, 2017, 08:35:51 PM
Wright wants to be the wizard behind the curtain. Everyone missed his deception - that he IS SATOSHI and runs a casino!
So tell me why he created all this drama, claimed that he is Satoshi but later failed to deliver convincing and ultimate proof, if all he wanted is remain man in the shadows,
hidden puppet master and secret bitcoin millionaire? Don't tell me he wanted fame because he goes through middle age crisis or something. It is not real.
658  Other / Off-topic / Re: [2017-01-31] The other ban that was quietly announced last week on: February 01, 2017, 10:11:43 PM
It is not surprising that authorities are trying to curb physical money, after all cash offers anonymity far superior to anything we invented so far.
We live in times when governments will tell us that ban of high denomination money (India) or purchasing anything with €1000 or more (France) is made illegal because it helps terrorism or mafia.
Introducing another level of restrictions and bans will not help the society - instead we will go towards Orwellian future when everything is controlled.
659  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Tens Of Thousands Of Brits Take To The Streets To Protest Trump’s Travel Ban on: February 01, 2017, 09:58:12 PM
Nobody was freaking out when Obama issued travel bans or even drone strikes.
Plus, Obama during his both terms dropped over 100,000 bombs on people. Prior to that he received Peace Nobel Prize - right at the very beginning of his 1st term.
In my humble opinion, it was one of the worst choices for Nobel Price winner - right after Nobel Prize for European Union, which was arguably the worst choice ever.
I am beginning to think that Obama was liked because he was more of a mascot, first black president etc. His views was actually far more utopian than Trump's and his execution was terrible.
During his presidency USA became a pushover country and not the global leader like it used to be.
660  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin has proven it can pump hard without the need of chinese gamblers on: February 01, 2017, 09:39:13 PM
China helps, but its not the only agent
But Chinese traders are the biggest factor so far. They were behind every pump since 2013. Bitcoin price movements usually starts in China then EU and US follow the trend.
It's true that so far pumps were magnified by margin trading, but if you think that China will suddenly be reduced to second tier trading power because leverage limits - you are wrong.
