641  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Only Sell what you don't need. on: November 30, 2023, 05:28:46 PM
After reading Op, I smiled... This is because I have tried to understand bitcoin and I will tell you that bitcoin is to different people different things.
To some people, bitcoin is a safe haven for investment and those are the set of people that invests their life savings or retirement fund into bitcoin.
To some other people, bitcoin is just a bubble that might burst tomorrow. So, they hastily want to take profit because it will end like a Ponzi scheme.
There are others who obey the rule of investing what you are able to lose with the DCA method.
Some don't even mind if they gain or lose in Bitcoin, they just want to holave enough bitcoin today, maybe bitcoin can value $1M tomorrow.

    • A newbie with little efforts will earn merits easily than an established member
I think I disagree with this as I believe the opposite is the reality. Newbies are easily viewed from the angle of merit farming even when their intention might just be to contribute to discussion. When they put so much efforts to impress, they might likely be seen as desperate. I have not done a large sample size but doing a little check on the topics that receive merits, you will those from newbies are very small compared to those of older members. This is expected anyways because the quality of the post of the newbies will definitely be lower than those of the experienced guys.
Note: my comment is entirely my opinion, I can be wrong.

    I appreciate your opinion, and believe me, your opinion is totally realistic. I understand from your angle of reasoning, which is;
Many people are skeptical of sending merits to newbies, they might believe it is an alt account or a part of account farm as you said. But also when the body language of the said newbie is positive, there are good chances of rapid growth.

What I meant by newbie recieving merits with little efforts is that, a newbie discuss something about LN stands a chance of being merited than me discussing same topic. Every newbie account is invariably regarded as a novice account, even if someone behind it is knowledgeable.[/list]

    Enjoy being a newbie
No matter how weird this might sound, there are alot of things that newbies enjoy which established members may never enjoy.
    • A newbie can quote wrongly and can only be corrected.
    • A newbie with little efforts will earn merits easily than an established member
    • A newbie has more chances of conducting research as the course of learning
Newbies have alot of freedom to tour and enjoy the forum except the freedom to copy and paste other people's work.
644  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Should trading be for the rich? on: November 28, 2023, 10:58:14 AM
There are people who have learnt how to trade, practiced on demo accounts for long but have not had the money to try trading on the market, and so they have abandoned trading to try search for money first. While there are others who have too little income, that they cannot profit from the market trading, they are always worried about loosing and because of that they make mistakes with their technical analysis and end up loosing the little money they have. Should trading be exclusive to financially comfortable and rich because of how risky it is?
First, trading is not for everyone, this is one truth everyone has to know in order not to get into troubles with the cryptocurrency market.

Secondly, trading has something to do with the volume of capital. No matter how experienced you are as a trader, you may never make a fortune with $5 capital, no matter the leverage you use.

Thirdly, it is no all about the money. You may have the money but if you don't know how to trade, 24hrs is enough to blow $10k
645  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin Bear Market over? on: November 27, 2023, 05:26:09 PM
I also believe that the bear market is over. We bottomed at $16,500 and since then, albeit with ups and downs, the price has been rising to where we are now. At the point in the cycle that we are at, with the halving in half a year or so, I think it is quite unlikely that we will go down to $20,000 or so, which would make us think about the bear market again.
Another reason I became confident that the bear market is over is because of the Binance and CZ drama that just happened.
Well,  assuming CZ's resignation happened during the bear market, the BNB and Bitcoin price would have dropped significantly upto 20%. But as the news broke out, it didn't even affect the market upto 24hrs and everything became alright again. That is a very good indication that the bear market is over.
646  Economy / Exchanges / Re: CZ officially bids goodbye to Binance. Will Binance Crash or still stand Strong? on: November 27, 2023, 04:45:54 PM
Binance still appears strong, even though CZ announced his resignation. His move seems well-timed; even though he's no longer the CEO, he can still control the company behind the scenes. People aren't panicking about the news, and I believe Binance will continue to be an exchange that positively impacts the crypto community.

It's been a week, and I think CZ's good ethics haven't caused much turbulence in market sentiment. Just a few days ago, I noticed BNB experienced about a 10% price drop but managed to recover. Meanwhile, Bitcoin's price wasn't significantly affected, with fluctuations being more of a correction.
Binance is no longer a baby company to be honest. CZ is no longer pampering binance and to be honest, many people and including the government has a stake in binance,  directly or indirectly.
When binance boosted about their reserves, many of us thought it was a joke and today we have seen that binance is able to pay any fine and still stand strong.

I thought BNB will drop upto 50% after CZ resignation,  but I wasn't even upto 10% and has already corrected.  So, there's no other FUD that will pull the market down. Binance is in auto pilot and doesn't need 100% intelligence to keep working.
647  Economy / Reputation / Re: Scammer who turned out to be Entrepreneur on: November 27, 2023, 04:28:24 PM
We first didn't believe him so we asked to do transaction in batches, first 2010 ETNY and second 3000.72 ETNY, a total of 5010.72 ETNY.

I always read carefully to discover new scamming methods.  I know scammers are smart and dynamic,  they always tend to be ahead of the game and that is why I like reading scam stories to be ahead of them.

The method he used to scam you is an old method.  At first,  you mentioned to him the total amount of transactions you wanted to do, divided it into two. So, he decided to use the first transaction as a bait to get the second which was higher.

. We searched his wallet address and found his Bitcointalk account named Shahangull.
I had thought that his account is somewhat established but it's not. Losing it will not be a big deal for him.

What is the dollar equivalent 3000 ETNY?
648  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What you need to know about trading on: November 27, 2023, 04:05:24 PM
Most people think life is a bed of roses, is all about sunshine,  enjoyment etc not knowing that there's always a  tough time and the ability of one to overcome this time makes him great.  Tough time is the point through which poor and successful people emerges depending on the choices and decision they take.
Most traders and investors are inpatient they only think of the positive side of it ( making profit) not knowing there will always be a loss someday,  well most of them know but when they make losses they became frustrated and unstable,  some will give up because of that little experience.  Sometimes we make losses and we have bad experience like we offend God but no, we are only been tested.  Some of the spirit of a trader or invest is "I can make it mindset, resilience...

I read through what you feel that everyone has to know about trading. Your post is in line and understandable.  But with respect to your post title, I feel that what you need to know about trading is that TRADING IS NOT FOR EVERYONE.

YES, you read it clear. If you lose and keep losing, quit trading and find some other things to do. Trading is more than profits and losses, it takes patience and emotion to survive in the trading market.  If you have tried trading for sometimes and no matter how careful you applied your strategy,  you still don't succeed.  Please consider to quit trading.
649  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are your big plans for the Bitcoin halving coming up in a few months? on: November 27, 2023, 03:55:52 PM
I am consistently reassessing and reevaluating my investment strategy as the halving could have a significant impact on the price of Bitcoin and other altcoins. The halving could also lead to a surge in interest in altcoins. As such, I am on the lookout for alternative investment opportunities. And, of course, dollar-cost averaging (DCA) is a consistent investment I make. That's my plan, at least. What are your plans for the upcoming halving?
As you rightly said, although I do not think there should be a unique or a special plans for halving.  It should be a plan that has been in existence or whether you are talking about an exit plan.
First, I will advise anyone who is investing through DCA to stop investment immediately the bitcoin price hits $50. I do not have any theories to support this, it is just what I feel is right. Anyone who started to DCA when bitcoin price was at the range of $15k, should be able to stop DCA when the price gets to $50k and then begin to plan an exit method.

My major challenge which I know will also be the challenge of many is when to exit the market.  I can say that if bitcoin makes a new ATH, anyone is free to exit at any point, else you could be trapped back to bear market.
650  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who should own a demo account? on: November 27, 2023, 03:47:54 PM
Not using a Demo trading account is considered a form of arrogance, and thus a trader will end up thinking that he understands everything about the market and suddenly loses everything. Therefore, as long as you want to trade, learn from everyone, listen to everyone, and try your plan in Demo accounts, and then you will get a better vision than investing without thinking.
Considering the wide variation between demo trading and real time trading, good traders not using a demo account shouldn't be considered as arrogance. Demo trading is simply another world of trading where the role of emotion is not recognised. Why will I take it serious when if I blow $5k, it ends as a virtual money and will not in any way affect me. How about if I mistakenly profit $50k, it will offend me the more because I cannot withdraw.

An expert trader can use less than $5 to test a new strategy before going in big. I still believe that demo account is a thing of the newbies and not for experts.

652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the largest meme coin ever? on: November 26, 2023, 01:22:52 PM
Which is the biggest meme coin yet? You can visit the cmc list if you want, and don't forget to name your profitable meme coin.
I can share some name of top meme coin.
    Shiba
    Dogecoin
    Floki
    Babydogecoin
    Pepe
    Mona
If not for doge, I wouldn't have known anything about meme coins. Doge really pulled crowd and was lucky to have been liked by Elon musk who rather made the coin popular and made it pump beyond expectations.
It will be correct to say that the idea of doge birthed so any other meme coins as doge killer, Shiba and the rest.
Shiba is another meme coin that made so many millionaires but unfortunately for me, before I could join the bandwagon, the coin crashed on me. I am still holding it but my portfolio is about -80%.

Recently, Pepe is another coin that is making waves and pumping in price. I am not actually a fan of meme coins but I think Doge is the largest meme coin.
653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: About Altcoins Investment Experience on: November 26, 2023, 12:55:02 PM
Wrong, Ethereum isn't a safe token and can be trusted without you know the token. If you check it more deeply, Ethereum's developers are holding a lot premined ETH to enrich themselves. With the move from POW to POS, this make ETH become more centralized.

No matter how we look at it, after BTC, the next available coin to be trusted is Ethereum. Forget all the stories of centralisation and the rest, a common man investing in either BTC or ETH does not care if it is decentralized or not, what they want is the profit of their investment in a short or long term.
Talking about the alleged pre-mined ETH, doe it in any way stop the price of ETH from rising when it's supposed to? If you were to be the creator of ETH, will you not premine some coins for yourself?
Have you checked the Satoshi addresses, what do you have to say about the amount of BTC in the addresses?

In summary, Ethereum has proven to be the king of Altcoins and is widely trusted.
654  Economy / Reputation / Re: Please tag my old account (98789) on: November 26, 2023, 12:05:19 PM
OK. I used to be 98789.

Why cant you just go with your old account? If you forgot your password, you can reset it using your email address, if you no longer have access to your email address, you can change it in your profile settings.

I am assuming OP never wanted to be tagged for waking up from long period of inactivity. Maybe a random user could tag him alleging that he is posting in different boards or has a deteriorated English over the years. If this happens, no one will come to the aid of OP.

I can say that he is smartly reporting that he is the owner of 98789 and also he has a new account. If he is actually the owner of the old account, there's nothing wrong in using both accounts if he wishes.
655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to invest 8k for passive income. on: November 26, 2023, 11:21:02 AM
Why are you fixed on earning daily income? To me, daily income earning will lead you to ponzi scheme. I have been involved in a lot of them and it always end in tears.

If I were in your shoes, I will convert all that funds to Bitcoin and make easy money after few years. Since the money is already in frypto, it is obvious you don't have urgent need if it.... so convert everything to Bitcoin and save them in a wallet you control the private keys.
Exactly my thoughts. He got a very good capital and he would earn more if he is not so fixed to daily returns. If for instance he buys bitcoin now and by next week bitcoin gets to 40k, he will have pretty good profits. This is not an investment advice and I am not saying now is the best time to buy bitcoin as I do not honestly know bitcoin's next move from here on a short term but I know on a long term.

If I may advice, it would be nice that you establish an offline business that will be giving you daily return and aboit crypto, concentrate on the long run so that you will not blow your capital in future trading.
656  Economy / Economics / Re: strange indicators to know economy is bad on: November 26, 2023, 10:42:41 AM
This is a funny thread indeed. Despite that what the Op wrote is real, but it still do appear comic. Especially when OP listed things like inability to change men underwear and so on.
Almost what OP wrote is happening in our present time, so it is safe to say that we are in a great economic downturn.

To me, what I used to know about a bad economy is the amount of start ups that failed. People hardly start business and when they do, it doesn't work for many. This is a sign of bad economy. Either the economy is not smooth to start biz or the business man uses his profits and even capital to sustain himself and the family.
657  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Implications of War on Individuals on: November 26, 2023, 10:09:00 AM
I hate wars. I hate conflicts. Both they are almost unavailable. Wars and conflicts disrupts lives. It kills people - men, women, babies. Businesses are shot down. Schools are shot down. Boys become father's and look after their moms and siblings because their father has gone to war. Daughters become mothers and have to care for their siblings because they lose their mothers to war. Children with perfectly normal lives become refugees
There's nothing good about war and even the war lords know about this. I read that after the Nigerian civil war, many people were still persuading Odumegwu Ojukwu, the Biafra veteran war lord to initiate another war. But Ojukwu answered them that if there is war, it is not only human that suffers. Both plants, animals, air, water and even spirits suffer. So there's no need for another war.

Even the soldiers sent for war, many of them go to such mission against their wish. All human needs peaceful coexistence.

I am deeply saddened by these wars. I am not taking sides because there are human causalities in both sides.
Some will see you as a coward but honestly, war is not the best solution to solving conflicts but then we must expect wars. It must not be of weapons and arms, it could be an economic war as we have witnessed recently.
658  Economy / Economics / Re: When Was the Last Time you Came Across a Positive Economic News? on: November 26, 2023, 09:55:20 AM
I find myself pretty bothered by everything going on in the world. Have you ever noticed how it's so hard to come across positive news about the economy, whether it's in our own country or globally? It's genuinely disheartening. Every time we read, watch, or discuss something related to the economy, it's all about inflation, recession, debt, bankruptcy, companies downsizing, laying off hundreds of workers, shareholders firing CEOs, and the company's stock taking a nosedive. Can't we just catch a break and have some good economic news for once?
Anyone who takes a good analysis of what's happening in the world today will understand that the world is not moving in the right direction. Many things are wrong with the economy of the world and the worse part of it is that there's no sign of betterment anywhere.

The population of bad people has outnumbered that of the good people, such that the fee good ones are turning bad every day. We have little or nothing to do about this because even posterity is infected by the disease of the present.

Politically, things have fallen apart and then region which was supposed to play the role of morality is totally contaminated. This is worse in some certain African countries. The world is terrible. No one is safe and even the rich and the elite group.

    Hello,

Thank you for your kind words and excuse my radical attitude.

The reason why is that I asked how could I pay with my Bitcoin and which taxation would be applied.
I got a response from an user as if I was trying not to pay taxes and elude my tax responsibilities.

I’m worried someone can legally attack me and sue me because of financial misdemeanor.

Based on your responses I will decide to stay in the forum and continue collaborating with others and learning new things.

    Thanks
These type of posts make me think how strict other countries are with regards to bitcoin and cryptocurrency taxation. I just imagine someone being scared not to be sued because of a mere statement in a random online forum.

In my country, we are not crypto taxed and besides I can make a statement like tax evasion and get away with it. This really shows the level of freedom we are enjoying in my country.

OP, good you have decided to stay. You can remain here anonymously, do not connect your real life identity to your forum identify and you are good to go.
660  Other / Archival / Re: Improving proposal for trust system on: November 26, 2023, 08:44:56 AM

1- when you accuse a DT2, his DT1 voters threaten and leave feedback for same reasons. That's a violation of the rights of accuser or not?
It is only the accuser that can make a case to vindicate himself which in most cases doesn't work, especially when DTs are in agreement about that particular case.

2- how many times you can leave trust feedback for a single reason? If I trade and get positive trust, is it allowed for 3-4 people to give me the same positive trust for the same trade with someone else?

If I have a successful trade with you, only your account is expected to drop me a positive trust and not random people. However, if others do, there shouldn't be a problem. I have read where theymos mistakenly sent a newbie $1k worth of bitcoin, the newbie refunded and got positive feedback by many people.

What I thought you would have complained is a DT member giving more than 1 negative trust for same reason. In order to make so many negative feedbacks appear on the victims account.

3- can we also send positive trust for a trade we did 5-6 years ago and encourage others to do the same for 1 account we like so much to pump it's reputation?
No, only send a positive feedback because of a current event. Accounts change hands and even people at some points turn scammers. Giving a positive feedback based on past events will be detrimental to the community.

4- can we repeatedly and excessively complement our friend on several threads over and over again, or is that spamming?
If your friend did something good, there's no limit to complimenting him. It will breed good behaviour. Maybe others who are envious of the complements will try to behave well in order to be complemented also.

5- can we beg people to let us give them positive trust because we like them so much and when they agreed, is it Ok to do that?
I don't think this happens. It should be someone who is receiving the position feedback that will beg for it and not the reverse. However, I do not see a place for begging in the trust feedback.

6- can we use our influence to persuade others to keep blatantly accusing a few members for spreading lies, scamming, trolling, without providing evidence, and should that happen, is there any punishment for such wrongful accusations?
This is against the system. Although there is no ideal system. But if you find such behaviour, you can call the persons involved out.
