642  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Don't Black People Use Bitcoins? on: January 13, 2015, 05:29:15 AM
Simple question: I'd like to discuss the demographics of the bitcoin community.

Why are there no people of color promoting bitcoin? What is it about bitcoin that disproportionately attracts white males? Could this extreme lack of diversity be ultimately harmful to bitcoin?

I've been following the bitcoin phenomenon for several months now. I've watched hundreds of youtube videos, read the blogs, seen the posts here, seen the conference footage from NYC... and until Bill Cosby I don't think I've seen a single African-American. OK that's not entirely true, I once spotted a dude who was in the onlyonetv studios once between broadcasts and he didn't speak at all.

From my perspective at the moment it seems the bitcoin proponents are almost entirely rich, white males with the occasional bored-looking female hanging around... Bitcoin, in a sense, could be viewed as a mechanism for prolonging the economic and social dominance of white males at the expense of everyone else. As we move towards a less racist, less sexist, more egalitarian society... Will bitcoin be a step backwards? [Well obviously it'll be a step forwards for us, but its going to be worse for everyone else]

the great thing about bitcoins is ANONYMITY, how do you knwo for sure you" have not seen a single African American" what makes you believe this?
643  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin solves all these problems on: January 13, 2015, 05:26:38 AM

I just got this email. My response was: "Just use bitcoin!"

Quote
1. Do not sign  the back of your credit cards. Instead, put 'PHOTO ID REQUIRED.'

2. When you are writing checks to pay on your credit card accounts,  DO  NOT
put the complete  account number on the 'For' line. Instead, just put the  last
four numbers. The credit card company knows the rest of the number, and anyone
who might be handling your check as it passes through all the check processing
channels won't have access to it.

3. Put your work phone # on your checks instead of your home phone. If you have a
PO Box use that instead of your home address. If you do not have a PO Box, use
your work address. Never  have your  SS# printed on your checks. (DUH!)
You can add it if it is necessary. But if you have It printed, anyone can get it.

4. Place the contents of your wallet on a photocopy machine.
Do both sides of each license, credit card, etc. You will know what you
had in your wallet and all of the account numbers
and phone numbers to call and cancel. Keep the photocopy in a safe place.
I also carry a photocopy of my passport when I travel either here or
abroad. We've all heard horror stories about fraud that's committed on
us in stealing a Name, address, Social Security number, credit cards.
In case your luggage is lost, take another list in your carry
on bag, especially if you are abroad and need immediate access to
those numbers.

Unfortunately, I, an attorney, have firsthand knowledge because
my wallet was stolen last month. Within a week, the thieves ordered
an expensive monthly cell phone package, applied for a VISA credit
card, had a credit line approved to buy a Gateway computer,
received a PIN number from DMV to change my driving record
information online, and more.

But here's some critical information to limit the damage in case this happens
to you or someone you know:

5. We have been told we should  cancel our  credit cards immediately. But
the key is having the toll free numbers and your card numbers handy so you
know whom to call.. Keep those where you can find them.

6. File a  police report immediately in the jurisdiction
where your credit cards, etc.., were stolen. This proves to credit
providers you were diligent, and this is a first step toward
an investigation (if there ever is one).
But here's what is perhaps  most important of all: (I never even thought to do this.)

7. Call the  3 national credit reporting organizations  immediately
to place a fraud alert on your name and also call the Social Security fraud
line number. I had never heard of doing that until advised by a bank that
called to tell me an application for credit was made over the Internet in my
name.

The alert means any company that checks your credit knows
your information was stolen, and they have to contact you by
phone to authorize new credit.

By the time I was advised to do this, almost two weeks after
the theft, all the damage had been done. There are records of
all the credit checks initiated by the thieves' purchases,
none of which I knew about before placing the alert.
Since then, no additional damage has been done, and
the thieves threw my wallet away this weekend (someone
turned it in). It seems to have stopped them
dead in their tracks..

Now, here are the numbers you always need to contact
about your wallet, if it has been stolen:

1.) Equifax:  1-800-525-6285  1-800-525-6285
2.) Experian (formerly TRW):  1-888-397-3742  1-888-397-3742
3.) Trans Union :  1-800-680 7289  1-800-680 7289
4.) Social Security Administration (fraud line):
1-800-269-0271  1-800-269-0271

ANd they say Banks are more secure than bitcoin wallets HAHA. I just need a strong private key no problem. I would also have advied "just use bitcoins"
644  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitstamp hack bitcoins are now moving! on: January 13, 2015, 05:25:13 AM
Thats great we can watch them, but what more can be done. There has to eb a way to track them, they will have to make a mistake somewhere. I wish all the hackers could get caught and face the responsibility of theft. then they should put the coins they confiscated into a faucet that pays 1 BTC per hour to whoever fills it out. Why not give it back to the owners it was stolen from, because its time everyone who owns a business in bitcoin take it upon themselves to strengthen security, I am tired of seeing so many places being hacked, enough is enough, do your job and secure your members investments at any costs whatever it takes. The only way we will keep hackers from ruining the reputation of Bitcoins is to stop them in thier tracks if they cant hack they wont succeed. Find ways arounf thier bullshit. Its the same story all the time, DDOS this, HACK accounts that. So stop it then. Learn form mistakes of your past and the mistakes of others and fix the problem. Sorry to be blunt, but thats life.
645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The sad truth about Bitcoin on: January 13, 2015, 05:19:29 AM
I've come to realize that Bitcoin is either for the rich or for poor people picking up the smallest of crumbs.  There seems to be very few people in the middle.  If this doesn't change... Bitcoin and cryptocurrency in general is doomed.

Yes you are correct, the ones that gotr lucky and hit it big are soaking up the sun, the ones that are struggling now to secure thier investment are working hard. Its the same thing over and over here in the bitcoin community, Ill get rich and watch as you strugle, i wont offer tohelp, I wont give you aid unless the advice I can give you will benefit me in the end. Nothing is free in life and in bitcoins its even worse, they will charge you for hat you need then make a referral bonus from everything you do they advised you to do. We have a but ton of hacking morons destroying our businesses, rich greedy assholes who never help anyone. Literally if you want to make it here, you will do it on your own. scraping the crumbs left behind by the fools with all the bitocins in their wallets acting like they are someone who deserves respect.

647  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did pools scare Satoshi away? on: January 13, 2015, 05:14:51 AM
Reading some of the earlier mailing list posts made by Satoshi back in 2008 and in his discussions with Hal Finney, it seems that his original vision of Bitcoin was quite different compared to the situation today. He did briefly mention ASICs as a possibility by referring to "specialized hardware" as well as the transition towards light wallets like Electrum and Multibit but he mostly referred to miners as being discrete individuals who mined using their personal computers. The only times where he talks about miners cooperating with each other to mine bitcoins is when botnets are discussed. Neither in his mailing list postings nor in his white paper does he ever mention the possibility of mining pools.

Each node's influence on the network is proportional to its CPU power.  The only way to show the network how much CPU power you have is to actually use it.

If there's something else each person has a finite amount of that we could count for one-person-one-vote, I can't think of it.  IP addresses... much easier to get lots of them than CPUs.

That quote is from a couple of months before he left the forum. Even then, he still held onto the belief that nodes are directly proportional to CPU power. Of course now we know that from the perspective of the network, someone that is mining on a pool is not considered a node and has no influence on the network. Instead, the influence lies in the operator of the mining pool.

Satoshi left this forum in late 2010. By then, the first pool (Slush's Pool) had opened and CPU mining was on it's way out. Perhaps Satoshi saw something that he had not anticipated and realizing what was coming, he panicked and decided to leave.

I often wonder what made him ack his bags and leave Bitcoin. What did he see that maybe we dont see right now. I also wonder why the developers now just sit around concentrating on just the Protocol, why dont they do productive things that will help Bitcoins. I mean when it boils down this is their business, what business do you knwo that has no advertising paid for by the owners, research and development paid for by the owners, I mean they do well with the protocol and doing things to strengthen the bitcoin transactions but they do nothing of real vale for bitcoins. Without a good value they will lose miners, without miners the transactions can not be processed. it is not 2009 when it was easy to mine bitcoins, today it costs a lot more money and computing power to mine them, allowing the price to dive bomb has to throw some kind of red flag for them, they cant be stupid enough to not be able to compare computing power in 2009, the difficulty and the network hashrate to the costs involved and those things today. Where are the developers? why do we never hear form them on here? where is thier input and why are they so willing to let their dream die. Satoshi knew something we did not. What was it?
648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My jaw is still on the floor. on: January 13, 2015, 05:08:37 AM
So, I am busy right now.  I scanned Nick's post.  I'm glad he is writing again and the material seems pretty clearly written and on point, but which part exactly made your draw drop?

Would you care to elaborate on the connections you posted?

It is kind of hard to agree or disagree with a bunch of links.

Sure;

Nick posted again today, (praising ethereum once again;) and I was reading and I noticed his use of the term "block chain" instead of "blockchain"

http://unenumerated.blogspot.com/2014/12/the-dawn-of-trustworthy-computing.html

Most people refer to it as blockchain (one word) as showen here by the Google trends.

http://www.google.com/trends/explore#q=blockchain%2C%20block%20chain&cmpt=q

and then I naturally looked up

http://satoshi.nakamotoinstitute.org/posts/

Satoshi never said blockchain. He calls the ledger block chain.  Shocked

LOL Ths is a very interesting situation. Its amazing what kinds of things people can catch. I am now wondering myself Smiley
649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Miners are killing bitcoin on: January 13, 2015, 05:02:16 AM
So how do you expct us to pay for our electricity, do you have a place that accepts bitcoin where I can purchase my electricity? how about internet, what internet companies accept bitcoins. Its not the miers fault. No Miners means No transactions get processed. If not for miners you idiot there would be no bitcoin.

Its the coin dumping merchants, the chinese unethical mining equipment manufactures, and last but surely not least it the developers of bitcoin sitting on their asses waiting for a damn handout. DEVELOPERS GET OFF YOUR ASS and do SOMETHING, DO ANYTHING to get this coins value to go up. ITS IS your responsibility to raise awareness to your project, it is your responsibility to create a demand for bitcoin, it is YOUR responsibility to do your job. We are investors in your project, in your dream. If this were a fortune 500 company you would be broke and all your investors would have sold your stock and left your company. You and others need to realize whose responsibility it is to work this project. We pay you as investors and you do your job pure and simple. I want to see some facebook adds promoting Bitcoin, some google ads promoting bitcoins use, we need an a merchant area where only bitcoins are used, we need an Auction site, we need a lot of simple things that you can do. Takle some of that fortune we gave you and pay some web designers a team dedicated to running these kinds of things, STOP sitting on your ass waiting for the people who invest in your prtoject to do the work for you!!!!  You have the money thats for sure to put these programs together. USE IT TO STRENGTHEN YOUR COIN. . I want to see developer counters on all the bad press we get in bitcoins. FOR GODS SAKE DO SOMETHING!!!!!
650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VIDEO BOUNTY][GSX] Glowshares: Community Driven Blockchain Development on: January 10, 2015, 06:02:08 AM

Lmao.

I just share and get game card to redeem coin. Can you tell me how to fraud? when i can get  card games.

Cleary you are scammer.

Since you have Absolutely no information about who you are listed in your profile its complicated to help you, I am from the Philippines where the Internet Providers use a public proxy and call their service "Shared Internet" so it is basically like they have a great big router, one IP Line coming in and that IP is split and shared by who knows how many subscribers.

If you have some lazy bullshit internet companies like we do here int he Philippines you should expect to have problems. I have them and I rarely complain here because I know its not the Devs fault. He cant remove this security or people like you using fake proxies to scam the site for more tiny portions of GSX will ruin it for honest people following the rules. Just go buy some while they are inexpensive and stop worrying.

This coin never have a community. GWS will die soon because dev is greed and a scammer

This thread is for Glowshares ( GSX ) we don't really care how you feel about GWS I am sure there is a good thread for that coin. Please put your complaint there for them GSX can not help you with your GWS complaints.

Smiley

651  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VIDEO BOUNTY][GSX] Glowshares: Community Driven Blockchain Development on: January 08, 2015, 06:31:42 PM
I am glad you all like It. its a great way to easily add a way for people to donate some GSX to you thru any website Smiley
652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VIDEO BOUNTY][GSX] Glowshares: Community Driven Blockchain Development on: January 08, 2015, 04:36:06 PM
SO far I am very pleased with Glowshares. I hate that the Philippine uses a shared internet with public proxy IPS because I dont get my 3 free card games every day i am lucky to get 1 Sad but thats internet in the Philippines for you Sad But I am just trying my best to buy as many as I can

I am working a few things out on my project we are running and thought maybe you guys could use this, Maybe the Developer will like it so much he will pas a few glowshares my way. It took me a little time and as I get other things moving along this widget will come together more. Theres just a few things not available on the Glowshares Block explorer, but the general idea works.

This widget is a fork from coinwidget.com HOWEVER he does not have anything for Glowshares so using his cde will replace all the glow shares info with bitcoin info and a glowshares wallet address will givce you an error and wont load. Smiley The Glowshares widget was created by me using his code and is hosted on one of my free hosting domains.

When you click the little wallet icon it actually opens your glowshares wallet on the send tab and inputs the address you have entered in the script in the payto area, and this part does work with Glowshares wallet Smiley I tested it. If you have any problems let me know Ill see if I can help you.

I would show you a live example However The project i am working on is not ready for the public yet Smiley

EDIT: I added the Widget to another page of mine so you guys can see it, Its at the top of the page to the left you'll see the "Donate" Button for Glowhsares there. Just click it and it will have a drop down with the other info to donate some glowshares to me HAHA.

http://knlgfx.wix.com/bitland

What it looks like

And then after you click the donate area it looks like this

And the code you paste to your website

Code:
<script src="http://cyberpin.5gbfree.com/Widget/coin.js"></script>
<script>
CoinWidgetCom.go({
wallet_address: "GYfDTvmticsxBDw3PxazbCnQ8KzRenEARP"
, currency: "glowshares"
, counter: "count"
, alignment: "bl"
, qrcode: true
, auto_show: false
, lbl_button: "Donate"
, lbl_address: "My Glowshares Address:"
, lbl_count: "Donated"
, lbl_amount: "GSX"
});
</script>

Make sure to change the "wallet_address:" to your own wallet address or they will send me your donations Smiley

654  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: HAS HASHPROFIT SCAMMED US ALL? on: January 06, 2015, 09:39:29 PM
They are theives. Did you read their stupid bullshit? Let em show you their ignorance and we can break it down.

Today resumes service in protected mode.
Protected mode still means the site is not running at all, they still just have their same message up, n stats, not real ability to see earning collected, which means they are doing nothing on their end at all!! just wasting time hoping things will blow over. You see all the other Threads have been locked just after their trolls and accomplices made a final message of lies.

Despite warnings from the administration of the service, many people succumbed to panic and preprinyali number of actions discrediting and disrupting service.
You run a cloud sitre dumbasses, what do you expect when your site just drops off with a bunch of contradicting situation. You did t have anyone to stop the DDOS attack yet you had someone who was smart enough to code a whole page with a Bitcoin  payment option for your customer service emails, that after they were sent were returned to the sender? what do you expect form your customers to just gladly accept getting screwed in the ass and take it with a smile.

Also, the attacker managed to get a substantial part of the information about the users of the service, as well as, in some cases, their authorization data.
Just another common lie so they can steal the information and try and hack all your accounts. Hopefully no one used the same passwords on this account as they did all the rest of thier stuff.

All of these actions have led to a significant reduction in the efficiency of mining and many other negative consequences.
How does a non existent DDOS attack against your website, which is not associated with teh Mining farm, reduce the efficiency of Mining? This statement is not possible. Unless you and your team were so stupid you hosted the mining on the same server that you host your website. Which is very doubtful!!

Despite everything that happened, from today (05.01.2015) the date of payment will be resumed with the applied information and technical infrastructure damage.
Yet we still can nt see any earnings we are collecting, the site is still DOWN!!

Set the following priorities and limitations of payment:

The first priority of payments get users residing in the territory of the Russian Federation.

Yea since most of the scammer cloud sites come from Russia I find this very interesting, Oh wait its so they cant be sued, if they pay all the Russian customers they seem to think  they can't get sued so easily.

Payments will be carried out at least 1 time in 14 days, and if there are good opportunities - every 7 days.
If you really have all that minin g hardware it shoud be NO PROBLEM to conduct payments as regularly schedules, hell if you had any of the mining equipment you should still eb collecting BTC from it. So I dont understand why you need to wait around. they didnt steal your hardware they hacked your wensite. SO how is it you are bringin in less BTC than before the ATtack?

Users to take action to discredit the project or any other actions that could potentially harm the project will be lowered priority for the payments to a minimum until the delisting payments.
Oh screw you, you are a cloud site, you should have expected this, and since you are doing so many things in contradiction of each other what the hell do you expect. Do something that proves us wrong, Show us a live video of the mining farm, show us proof of the hacking, show us something that is pure and clear proof of this attack ot just your word you seemingly try and FORCE us to believe. I can shit in my left hand and I can promise in my right hand which hand do you think will fill up faster? SHOW US PROOF !!

Our team has always understood the risks associated with the project, and in the process of service development project launched not only HP, but a few services of this kind. In the most successful of them, running 3.5 months ago, was taken into account the experience gained during the development of the project HP. He is more perfect and attractive for the following:

It is aimed at a Western audience, because, as a rule, it is more advanced and solvency.
The mechanism of payment cards VISA and MasterCard.
A web camera, showing a data center in real time.
Interface translated into 10 most popular languages.
Modern, tech and lightweight design of the site.
Hundreds of other smaller improvements.
It - only the most developed to date service, in addition to running his or tested more than 20 different types of services. As a result, all users to exercise prudence and support service at the stage of its formation and development will be rewarded.

Thank you for your support and understanding.

ANd this last sectiopn is not even worth our time to read.

bottom line HashProfit was another waste of our time and Bitcoin. they are a scam and liars, and until they can provide irrefutable proof a live video of their mining farm, then we should expect nothing more form this Russian based cloud miner scam site.

HASHPROFIT you dont like my message then please post next and prove me wrong, if not SHUT YOUR MOUTH and dont waste our time with more lies and empty promises.
655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][VIDEO BOUNTY][GSX] Glowshares: Community Driven Blockchain Development on: January 06, 2015, 12:13:09 AM
I do a lot of work and research with POS coins. I am working on a new project actually involving POS coins only. My team came up with a way to try and explain the way POS coins mint or stake. Not all POS coins mint the same mind you. But this one falls into that lottery mining like category. Yes it is like a lottery, however isn't all mining like a lottery? Well to connect it to regular mining, We can try and say maybe 1 coin is equal to 1 GHS or 1 MHS of mining power. Just like POW coins the more GHS/MHS you have the better your chance to solve a block. The more coins you have in a sense the more mining power you own. And just like with mining POW coins everyone has a chance to find that holy grail of blocks that contains your big payout reward. Because it is like a lottery.

Our most favored of the lottery minting coins is Reddcoin. We have our own reasons, but RDD has a very intriguing POS process. It does not make RDD any better or any worse than GSX, because all POS coins have their good points and their bad points. There is just something a little bit different in the POS process RDD has put together.

It is truly sad the the Author, Who is not Satoshi does not even understand Bitcoins. He does not know what it was meant for, what purpose it was meant to serve, and what tis true abilities are. Whoever you are, Grow up, and please do some research on Bitcoin before you try and pose as the founder. You are an embarrassment to yourself.

To be honest I read it because even the Title is so not true, I had to read what it was, then the blatant lie in the title led to a whole new circus inside the actual thread. this thread was a mockery form the beginning.

FYI next time Just hack Satoshis account instead of creating a new one. I mean you are trying to pose as him, this should mean you have even the smallest amount of intelligence right, well next time you want to pose as him it would be best to do it form his own account Smiley
657  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Hashprofit withdraw on: January 05, 2015, 03:02:15 PM
How can I withdraw my funds from hashprofit with that 20% fee?

Ponzis dont like withdrawal. Keep reinvesting.

I doubt that it's a ponzi, I just don't want to wait a whole month to be able to withdraw.

Hmmm how do you feel now just as you were gonna make your withdraw I bet WHAM no site ut a new message that not only helps to inform you of their pump and dump scam coin but their scam site who is charging you for customer support. But wait theres more, you pay them 0.03 BTC to send them a support email and guess what...RETURN TO SENDER hahaha scam scam scammity scam. Its sad to i liked this site Smiley
658  Economy / Digital goods / Re: Hashprofit loophole available on: January 05, 2015, 02:59:26 PM
We just found a loophole in the hashprofit.com (could be a ponzi scheme) which is in the market from 15 MAY
we are expecting a full return in 45 days with this loophole

Hmm I am wondering if you knew about the hack incident, or maybe just maybe you were part of the DDOS attack if that attack is even a real thing. At this point I have lost faith in hashProfit. To many things do not add up in thier explanation. I am sorry to all of those heavily invested in this company. It takes less time to defend against a DDOS attack than it does to recode their whole index.html and set up a payment system for emails. Emails that i may add were paid for then returned to sender. It is so sad how ruthless and stupid people are today. If you can build such a nice site, why not just do what you are supposed to do to make it more profitable than a few months of recurring BTC.
659  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: The Official Hashprofit Cloud Mining Survey-pls vote on: January 05, 2015, 02:45:40 PM
At this point I would not click any link related to anything with Hashprofit. That place is a slap in the face and has well surpassed all other sscam cloud sites. Charge people 0.03 BTC for customer support on the fact they are gettting ready to run away with everyones Bitcoin. OMG this was the scam of all cloud scams. A pump and dump cins to back up a fake cloud mining site. And now your link that does who knows what?

I often wonder what those other complex ideas were he had. I too have sat down wondering since his public departure of Bitcoin dev team., I wondered if he had teamed up and created a few of these other coins. I mean why not, you see some coins always stay and other coins go away as fast as they came in. What might he be working on??
