Didn't Dan accept and say he will review this weekend? Perhaps I misunderstood...?

Well, he didn't "accept" because he wasn't offered a review. He just expressed an interest in being allowed to download the software and test it out (i.e. not to look at the source code).

OK, so I partly misunderstood. He's not getting the sourcecode, but is still doing a review.

I just don't understand why.  Huh

please lets end this cloak discussion, I was just responding to numerous posts and pm's....until I do my own review, I have no official statement on cloak

Thank You,

Dan

Dan here is a little look into the glass bowl of "forum psychology" befor considering that review.

Since you offered to do it and havent been approached this are the two possible outcomes:

1: Your review is positive like the keycoin one, Cloak PR knows how to capitalise on this and cloak will outperform XC short term (long term is the summ from alot of short terms) Cloak will officilly be no P&D anymore cause of Dan Metcalf approval stamp.Ratio between positive effect on XC and Cloak: 1 to 10 ( like keycoin)

2: your review is negative. since you asked to do it and not been asked you look like an ass that just wants to sabotage the competition leading up to our REV3 release. i know thats not your intentions but this is how its gonna be made to look , and as of now our community while having quality members doesn't have the manpower to equal out the perception.

No matter what this review will not turn out positiv for your project I'm 100% shure, and I'm good at anticipating people/crowd reactions.
I know you mean good but not now . please , please, please

Did I miss something? Where did he say he was going to review cloak? If such a thing where to happen I agree it's risky either way. To be honest I think with key everyone was a bit
surprised at how influential his opinion would be.

I agree that a review from Dan would be politically complex. And I doubt the Cloak devs will want one.

I think this review is to counteract that screeshot of Dan saying cloak is a scam. If he checks code and its not, its fair for him to take what he said back (give a good review)

he could just say he was talking about the old appraoch and he stands by that. there would be nothing wrong with that since he was talking in a private chat room, he wasn spamming their thread or even in here. it wasn't public.
There is no reason for apologetic feelings or actions, he has done nothing wrong.

Standing by your words about the cloaksend 1.0 and do no more until asked for. that would be the right thing to do.

Counteract a screenshot? We are not 14 year old school girls in here

Good point. The review should be for the code he was talking about at the time.

Not sure how it can help us reviewing our direct competition as you said, good or bad review, isn't going to look good.

I think you should add the ticker, XC in the thread title.  Like this:

[XC] [XCurrency] Decentralised Trustless Privacy / Encrypted XChat / Privacy Platform

+ 1.

Cryptoland is a strange world. Don't get it.  After Dan's code and review, Keycoin up almost 200% and XC almost 15%.  Huh? Also volume has skyrocketed on Keycoin? XC is still superior in so many ways.  I guess patience is a virtue as they say.

I feel more secure with my money in XC than bitcoin at the mo. keycoin being 200% up could soon be 200% down. look on coinmarketcap, all the coins have been up and down XC has been steady... slight rise though over all...

perhaps i'm deluded but were onto a winner here!

The great thing is.  After knowing that Dan gave it a good review... I made like 4x profit from my investment in Key.  So now... I have more btc to get more XC. Smiley

fair play man, i wish i knew that Dan was gonna give this review and i woulda done the same! but i think my point still stands... u recon keycoin is gonna stay up??

oh my god!... i just wrote a fucking essay about everything! prices, exchanges, how i love the team, and instead of clicking send i somehow clicked the back button....

probably for the best actually, coz im spannered, lol. (was all positive though!)

actually, my original point was, what exchange is most trustworthy? ive gone cryptsy - mintpal - bittrex - and now back on mintpal... im not gonna be able to relax till i got my coins on a paper wallet or perhaps rev 3...

p.s. moon come soon!  Grin Cheesy Wink Cheesy Grin Shocked Smiley

Guys, I see announcements and stuff happening in tweet, I am helping retweeting but right now ALL EYES are on PAYPRO coin, its skyrocketing like mad, I would suggest you to do a hard twitter campaign right after all that rage is over.

(XC holder here not FUD or anything else, in case you're wondering).

Eth.

man are you even trying to be serious? I find it difficult to keep my words clean right now

And @holyprofit too.

If you'd have minimal brain cell count, you would check my post history before babbling. My biggest bags are in XC, probably into the coin way before you two, the TWEETS are a powerful tool of the (already small) PR for XC and the moment they were out 90% of the crypto community were frenzied with trading in KEY and PRO.

Now fanbois, understand me well, I wrote that so synechist and the crew aknowledge it and can repeat their tweets at a better moment where they will reach way further.

Sometimes I wonder why the hell I post here.

Eth.

I got your point dude. its all good. Wink

Hoertest, generosity is a virtue, and virtues have long-term and short-term benefits. There's absolutely no need to be less than virtuous, ever.

There is little doubt in my mind that Dan's review will be beneficial to all parties, and mostly to XC.

You showed public interest in cloak some days ago. look where cloak is now and how beneficial it was to us. i don't want to bash other coins. but helping out left and right while the own project is not yet in the possition to do such things is a mistake too.
If the REV3 campaign would be already on the road and Dan would have some sparetime I would be fine with such reviews . but now?
Only one liners and short updates from him for weeks in here and then he has the time for that write up and checking the code. This was a ego thing, you can tell me what you want about the philanthropic intentions.

I can see your point, although I agree that generosity is a virtue and it will bring exposure to XC & Dan as a reputable developer in the long run.

Im guessing Dan got a chunk of key coins for the review aswell lol.

Also do we want to go the E-bay rout or something ?

There is already 2-3 team working on this namely Voot/Cloak/ ?

Yeah I'm not so sure about this one either. If its going to be a truly decentralised "ebay" it will no doubt end up being more of a "silk road" and couldnt Dan & Co get in trouble if this were to happen?

I think XC would do better aiming to be the currency of choice for all those kind of Markets that are already about and surely a decentralised one is on the way by now anyway.

As co-founder of XC Italia and XC investor, I'm officially willing to set up a bounty of 350 XC for a working XC paper wallet generator approved by Dan, synechist and the XC team. I will immediately pm synechist, get coding Wink

Thanks for the kind messages everyone. I'm feeling a lot better than yesterday, it's nothing serious, just some terrible stomach flu but everything is fine now.

Concerning the thread title: I will talk to Arlyn and Rob to see what we can come up with. If you have good ideas, send me a pm or reply to this post.

Glad to hear mate ;-)

***The XC Daily Update***

Hello all

Today,
- Dan and Christian are working on... undisclosed tech

- Rob and I have been discussing media strategy for said undisclosed tech

- And you should retweet, like/share, and generally spread the following:

"Imagine instant messages did not disclose your IP, used no-one's servers, and left no trace on your computer. #XC #XChat #privacy #byebyeNSA"

Cheers pal!  Wish u could give eta, I'm getting excited,  but understand you can't.

What do you think about the paper Wallet conversation? Team got it planned?  Would you like someone from the community to do it if they can?

I like the idea. Anything that makes XC more concrete and physical is great.

By all means, community members are welcome to go for it.

If anyone makes a paper wallet generator, it's probably best to contact me or Dan afterwards. We could check the code, get a great UI designed, etc.

Excellent!  I don't have many XC but will chip in a few if someone can do this.  I have read the couple of previous comments on how it can be done already,  but a nice simple UI,  and checked code version would be great. I'm gonna start giving these as standard bday/xmas gifts. Got high hopes that people will really appreciate these in a year or so :-)
