641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you track bulk Bitcoin transactions being carried out by whales? on: November 16, 2023, 04:23:53 PM
Some people like doing this, like those who are into trading and chart analysis, they believe that when a big whale moves his funds into an exchange then something is about to happen or maybe the whale knows or heard something that they don't know.

I don't see any needs for me to do this because it's a big stress monitoring my crypto portfolio and also monitoring the whales wallets, as crypto isn't something I do full time I have other things that are occupying my time, I just buy bitcoin and hold for long term profit.

If you are so into Bitcoin trading it can be good to keep track of such wallets because you will be able to stay ahead of the game, I believe that trading in the bull is better and more possible to win some market prediction.
642  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to maintain proper security measures paying by BTC for an expensive items? on: November 16, 2023, 10:57:02 AM
Avoid been great with the transaction fee, if you adjust too much it will surely get stuck, it's better to use default transaction fee or go to mempool for the accurate minimal transaction fee.

I also expect the receiver to have a limited time for you to make a transaction because of transaction delays at times, even if you use the best transaction fee at times you will still get some delays and if the time frame to make the payment is short it won't end well.

If I am to use BTC to make a payment online for something with high value I will use the max transaction fee for quick transaction, the last time I pay some bills online I was given 120 minutes to make the payment and after 30 minutes it's already confirmed.
643  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen to bitcoin price if Solar superstorm 'wipe out the internet'? on: November 16, 2023, 08:49:17 AM
Block stream satellite network to the rescue but what do you expect to happen in the world before Solar superstorm happens? In which I don't believe, but technology is progressing, there will be more ways to use the internet without the internet connection someday, it might sound weird but technology is the fastest growing so far, something will come up.

I used to worry about this too, and sometime I even start thinking of a block chain project that doesn't need the internet to make transaction, but with the way the technology world is advancing this days I know that many solutions will come up.

Also I want you to know that scientists have not predict this event happening in 2025 so do not believe in it that much, how valid this news or rumour is we don't know, you can find the news spreading around the internet but none is saying that this will eventually occur.
644  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some rich person not interest about bitcoin for following reason on: November 15, 2023, 03:47:50 PM
That's a made up excuse, maybe because he is already rich, he should have just said that he is not interested in Bitcoin, all the names you mentioned came late to the game, many nobodies bought Bitcoin before these popular people.

He lacks some facts about Bitcoin, it's easy to see that, I could remember few of these names saying bad things about Bitcoin years ago, but let's put that aside, isn't he curious why these people are now buying after saying bad stuffs about Bitcoin? I think you should ask him this question.

How smart is this rich guy of yours OP? Because I don't believe that he his smarter than all these people you made mention, he is the one lacking lots of knowledge and he will miss out really big if he didn't buy Bitcoin, he has the money, what could possibly go wrong if he risk small amount of money? Never mind, leave him be and don't let him confuse you, that's all I have to say.
645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: J.P. Morgan Thinks the Big Crypto Rally Is Overdone on: November 15, 2023, 02:25:02 PM
This J.P Morgan knows nothing about Bitcoin chart, why Bitcoin becomes bullish depends on it's movement, weekly, monthly and yearly price actions, it's all in the chart, so he is just using his influence to gain attention and maybe cause some rukus.

I have been hearing nonsense from many popular people since 2017 and most of them have learned but some haven't, everyone is free to run their mouth but it will be stupid of you to take their words seriously, they know nothing, they predicts and something else happens, is this the type of people you want to believe?

I've learned to never get carried away by someones point of view in crypto space, I don't care, you will end up getting confused if you follow anyone, let your own be to buy when the market is bleeding and sell when the market is surging, use bear market and bull market to your advantage, forget what others are saying.
646  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a peer to peer method less popular than as an investment on: November 15, 2023, 11:21:25 AM
Whatever you want with Bitcoin is available, a good store of value? Some privacy off the bank when moving money? Decentralization hunger? Like seriously this is a well made digital currency and there is no single doubt why it's taking the lead over other cryptocurrencies.

It's consumers choice to make, but I choose Bitcoin for everything it has to offer, all the utilities of Bitcoin are useful for someone like me, I use Bitcoin to make payment online and I am still sad that this is limited in some areas, but hopeful things will change soon, I am now storing more money in Bitcoin instead of banks and I am not scared like when I used to store money in the bank.

I was worried that I could be tracked if my bank account worth a lot of money, since so many things are happening in my country, I feared for myself that's why Bitcoin seem to be the best option and so far it's been years and I feel more safe holding Bitcoin than having money in the bank.
647  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not get scammed by this, specially newcomers. on: November 15, 2023, 10:43:36 AM
The majority of scams happening in crypto space is because of peoples lack of knowledge, how can someone promise to get your lost Bitcoin back for you? How? With a magic wand or what? People believe in stupid things easily when they are desperate to get answers.

If you understand bitcoin wallet very well you should know that once you lost your private key it's over, there is nothing in the world that can get your Bitcoin back for you, no machine or even an alien can do it, that's why you need to handle your wallet backup like it's all that matters to you.

This method is oldish but sadly people still fall for it till this day, and that's because some new people are joining crypto everyday, they have no clue about the dangers that awaits them on almost everywhere online.
648  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you want to play on casinos without KYC requirements? on: November 14, 2023, 06:07:46 PM
I was thinking about this question over the weekend and I cannot seem to find legitimate reasons why people would want to play at casinos that do not require KYC verification.

1. KYC requirements reduce money laundering.
2. KYC requirements reduce under age gambling.
3. KYC requirements increase the possibility to hold people to account for their actions. (Exploiting casino systems)
4. KYC requirement reduce scamming
5. KYC requirements can be used to restore accounts after it has been hacked. (Using the documents that were used by the original owner)
6. KYC requirements adhere to government regulations and legitimize a casino.
7. KYC requirements can be used to reduce gambling addiction. (Identifying people that self-excluded or people trying to create new accounts)
8. KYC requirements can be used to enforce regional gambling restrictions.

Why would you want to avoid being identified, if you gamble legally and if you are not a criminal? Let's discuss the reasons why KYC are not advantageous for the gamblers and casinos?

Ps. I am playing Devil's advocate... if you did not notice it.  Grin

1. It's what we've been told but can we trust them? Whatever is written can be clean up by the makers, when the power belongs to centralized government anything is possible.

2. Under age gamblers still exists, it doesn't take too much to grab their papa or mama drivers license to pass any KYC verification and viola, they will start gambling in no time.

3. You are right, but it still doesn't make a lot of sense, if I am criminal, why would I choose to use a casino to make illegal transaction when I am not the owner of the casino? If you are looking for criminals disguising themselves as casino business runners it's always from the inside, probably the owners.

4. KYC can't reduce scamming, who is a customer going to scam on a casino? The house? That's not possible, the only reason why casinos ask for KYC is when the customers win a large amount and they want to withdraw it all or when the customer breaks the rules of the casino.

5. If KYC is already passed on a casino why the need for an hacker to hack such account? If they find their way into the account and they see that the owner already pass KYC they will take advantage of the account in little time and abandon it, so the real owner is free to take it back.

6. Yes it's necessary and I am not against it, the truth is the regulation is to safe people from getting rough handled by the casinos, that's why I don't like using a casino that's not regulated, if a regulated casino do something bad to their customers they can face charges by the law.

7. You are wrong, KYC verification has nothing to do with your gambling addiction, it's either your family and friend helps you or you get a therapy, seek for help somewhere else.

8. KYC verification can be used to enforce regional gambling restrictions, I think this is possible but limited to certain country and that's on the casino to reject every KYC from such region.
649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how/why is this tx stuck??? on: November 14, 2023, 05:00:27 PM
Added to https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator by phil.
Not a guaranty that they will mine it, but it's better then nothing.

You are 2 blocks from the tip at the moment. So it should clear in a bit so long as a ton of TXs don't get hit the mempool.

-Dave
They should, if you are able to insert your transaction hash before the number runs out they will mine it, I tried using viabtc accelerator some days ago and it worked, I noticed they have add a specific number countdown, they have a threshold of transactions they accept every 24 hours per day unlike before.

What OP don't understand is that once there is a congestion on the network transactions can easily get stuck for hours, even if you use the highest amount you will still have to wait, but it's good that free services like ViaBTC is around.

Everyone I know that are into Bitcoin investment are in worries about Bitcoin transaction, I just tell them that it always happen when the value of Bitcoin start rising, the same is going on with Ethereum, I used $8 to make transaction some hours ago and we aren't even in a bull market yet, the real crazy time is still yet to come.
650  Economy / Economics / Re: How do you work toward hodling bitcoin? on: November 14, 2023, 04:08:43 PM
Most of the money I made locally goes for bills at home and some of this money goes back into Bitcoin every month, I also have a knowledge about Bitcoin trading which I only take into action when the market is bullish, especially those buy the rumour sell the news events, although not all worked out well.

Having at least a source of income is very important before investing money into anything, think about your survival first, to avoid getting drained out by Bitcoin investment is why having a job or source of income is good.

It's not easy to be a Bitcoin holder and I believe those who held their Bitcoin for the last years have something they are doing that's bringing them money, it's hard to live a life of someone who is making too small money while you are sitting on good amount of money in your Bitcoin wallet.
651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin an option for low- and middle-income countries [Fees & Costs] on: November 14, 2023, 03:05:26 PM
Bitcoin can be send to anyone in anywhere in the world, it doesn't work using location, it works using Bitcoin address to another Bitcoin address, even if the receiver is in another planet with internet connection they will receive their Bitcoin.

From my own past experience, I believe that countries with low income and hardship are into Bitcoin more than other countries, it's cheaper for transaction over remittances and it's also secured than any other.

Bitcoin is also a good investment for people that are struggling with low income, all they need to do is find good amount of money to invest in Bitcoin, even if their monthly salary isn't good enough for them to start saving money, having Bitcoin is more than enough.
652  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What can happen next time due to a lack of proper knowledge about Bitcoin? on: November 13, 2023, 06:14:45 PM
There is no crypto that's going to dominate the world, Bitcoin is the true store of value and if possible Ethereum also get bigger like Bitcoin they both aren't going to replace Fiat, these digital currencies are not created to replace money, they are just options for people that need them.

Either educated or not there will always be option to choose any payment solution, I believe that Fiat isn't going anywhere, even if digital future makes paper money feels old it can be replaced with another Fiat in digital form, that's it.

Crypto or digital currencies can't be forced on people to start using as day to day payment solutions, it's not a must for people to start using, if you want you can but you will need to find those that will accept it as medium of payment.
653  Economy / Economics / Re: "I saw my salary on a bottle of perfume today" on: November 13, 2023, 04:10:23 PM

Thats why the quote is right, "rich get richer, the poor get poorer" because they don't have capital to invest, start a business, etc.
you are right that first we need to earn enough money that will give us big returns on investment, or enough money to start a small business which have high chances to grow and future.
some lucky people are able to get high returns or gain financial freedom because there are very less opportunity like bitcoin in early stage, people who invested early were lucky to gain high returns.
This isn't always the case with all poor people, many of them have the capital but because they are not rich they get so attached to the little they have, and telling such people to invest is like telling them to go back been broke again.

They only know hard work but they don't know about smart money, they aren't trained to take risks they are trained to work very hard all the days of their lives, this is why they have the wrong perspective about making money and getting rich.

This is also why the rich don't like helping the poor at times, because they see the poor as the most greedy people over all, they believe they aren't prepare to risk their money but they can go to the rich seeking for help, where as these rich people risked it all.
654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and misinformation on: November 13, 2023, 03:48:47 PM
I know some people that are fully aware about how Bitcoin is profiting some people but they still believe that it's a scam, I do get this one sentence from most people, 'just because it's giving people money doesn't make it a scam free investment, they do say this using my local language and since I've seen how serious they are about this I zero my mind and in fact I stop teaching people about Bitcoin.

But lately because I was annoyed about the mentality of people that judge without doing their own research I ended turning someone away, someone i shouldn't have, and I believe that's why this person decided to risk things himself and he cost him a lot of money, he fell victim to scam. If I have just teach him about how to Buy Bitcoin and hold, he wouldn't become a victim to that scam.

Honestly,  bitcoin can be very complicated for beginners, it's not a business where someone can just teach you straight away, and its not also something that's been thought in the schools, so obviously people will believe that it's another scamming method, but why condemn something you know nothing about? Sadly this is very common among people this days.
655  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Every man you failed to lecture about Bitcoin can be a victim to scam on: November 13, 2023, 02:26:40 PM
Whenever someone come asking me about Bitcoin I sometimes look at them as another victim to scammer, at least before they learn, and that's even if they choose to stay after they get scammed, such category of people only know how to quit, I think this way because people only what to hear the good side of investment and not the bad and risky side.

Something happened to someone who is not very close, I remember he came to me asking me about Bitcoin and how to get involved, I remember it was a bad timing for me and I told him to go online and do his own research.

Now he is a victim to a WhatsApp group that opened a exchange and told him to invest through them, I never knew he had up to $3000 for investment, he never sound like someone who is ready to invest a lot and secondly I thought he was a time waster, now he can't withdraw his Bitcoin from the fake exchange.

I am thinking that leaving behind and not teaching people can make them a prey to scammers, if I have just thought him the right things about Bitcoin he might have not get scammed.

No matter how much you tell others to do their research about Bitcoin some are not very good at it, call it illiteracy or other but it is what it is, should we start turning those who are not so good with finding answers away? Is that a right thing to do? I don't even know why I am feeling bad for this person, I could have saved him though.
656  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hot take: Your crypto portfolio should have more than just Bitcoin. on: November 11, 2023, 04:33:09 PM
By having other cryptocurrencies in your portfolio you are simply exposing yourself to more risk, you can have Bitcoin and rely only on Bitcoin, it's safer than having other coins in your crypto wallets, but even if one have to do it, they must be willing to put in the extra work, other coins don't just expose you to more risks, they always need extra lessons and monitoring.

Altcoins are stressful to own and lock away in your wallet without monitoring it's update on twitter or their telegram group, they may decide to move to their main net anytime or switch their smart contract, unlike Bitcoin where you can lock away without looking back for years you can't do that with altcoins, you are simply trying to lose your assets if you do..

My alt portfolio consists of two altcoins that just out of nowhere decided to change smart contract, I don't know this until it's almost too late, and thankful to myself I visited twitter that day, and the next day is the last day you must swap your old tokens for new, if not I would have ended up with worthless tokens.

Other digital assets are too stressful to keep, there are also times where you need to exit the market because of a bad rumour on a project, if you are slow about it the coin will dump on you, like what happened with GALA, you always have to be on guide with other altcoins.
657  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What lies ahead for Bitcoin in the coming days? on: November 11, 2023, 11:15:03 AM
All in the name of "What If" is why so many people are not taking any risks in their lives until they wait to be task for not taking risks all along, I can't imagine a life without risk taking, you will just be stagnant in one position for the rest of your life.

What if this, what is that, this is the mindset of someone who don't want to grow, you worry too much about what you can't control, the fun part about life is we humans not having a clue about tomorrow,  isn't that adventures on it's own?

Live like a human, build yourself and your mind, take risks because a risk taker don't always lose on the long run, it's either they gain more knowledge or they win, but not taking any risks will put you in a deep darkness for the rest of your life.
658  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some of bitcoin's aim and purpose have been trampled upon on: November 11, 2023, 10:25:46 AM
There is nothing about Bitcoin that's affected, so I am quit confused about what you mean, it's transparency works still, it's privacy works still, it's decentralization works still, if the high transaction fee is your major problem learn to use the lightening network, problem solved.

Bitcoin fits to be a store of value more than a means of payment, and if you are accepting Bitcoin as means of payment right now then know that some customers will choose to use other digital currencies to pay just to avoid the high transaction fee unless you start accepting lightening network transaction too.

I prefer to store my money in Bitcoin as a store of value than spending it here and there, Bitcoin is more of a digital Gold (an asset) than a digital currency means for making payment.
659  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Treating bitcoin as a teenager. on: November 11, 2023, 09:00:44 AM
Bitcoin is young and that's a solid point, many people choose to stay away from Bitcoin not because they can't afford the money but because they don't want to get involved with anything that their government is not backing, and now that ETF is here I believe that loads of people will have no choice but to join the race and this time it's going to be big.

Right now the population of people in Bitcoin is still very low and after ETF approval it's going to get bigger, but there is a catch, with Black Rock involvement I believe that the opportunity in crypto space will be lower in the future, the way people make money from this crypto thing right now will be crippled by these powerful organizations.

This next bull market could be the last best because the opportunity gets lower, but one thing is certain, Bitcoin value will always grow bigger as the years goes by, so you are correct for saying that right now Bitcoin is still a teenager.
660  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Can anyone help me please to withdraw money from my blocked Binance account? on: November 10, 2023, 03:59:41 PM
I've trade and left more than $500/on binance so many times before, you must have done something very wrong, do you use VPN? Or you sign in from a new device? Different location? The screenshot shows only how much you have in there but not the error you are getting.

Do you use p2p service lately? That's another fast reason why Binance can block your account, they usually block people when they don't keep their part of the promise when dealing with peer to peer transaction, like two days ago when I was using their p2p, the person they paired me with is a crazy fella who intentionally delayed the transaction for over 24hrs.

I opened an appeal and the CS told us to drop proof both, and I dropped mine but the guy failed to drop his, and he was warn that if he didn't follow this rules he is definitely trying to cheat and if he can't drop proof that he truly paid me he will be block from the exchange, the guy later lied that the money got reversed, I knew he lied but things was sorted out, if he hasn't did this his account would have been locked already.

So OP what exactly did you do wrong?
