Danny Welbeck with the first goal of the game against Manchester United. Man United has been playing well and trying to find an opportunity but so far has been denied again and again by the Brighton defense.
I envisaged both teams each scoring goals in this game but I still think Manchester United would win this game. It really doesn’t matter who scores first in the game but hopefully, Manchester United would be lucky enough to turn these opportunities they’re currently having into goals. They really do need to score enough goals to get them the win. They desperately need to have a win in this game.

There’s no coming back from this as Liverpool has succeeded in putting in a third goal and just at the extra time. The third goal was not expected and I think there was a small deflection as the ball has brushed against a wolves players leg hitting the sidebars before entered the goal making it an own goal.

Liverpool seemingly woke up after the half time, perhaps after a stern talking to by Klopp combined with a couple of changes. Liverpool has won the game comfortably and Wolves has no chance of coming back from this. Added time being 8 minutes. 96 minutes and counting…

Quick predictions for today as I've been waiting for internal competition to return after Euro games.

Wolves - Liverpool , I can't expect anything from Wolves this season so we're going with Liverpool to win and score 2 goals.

Wolves has been playing above my expectations so far and is giving Liverpool a hard time. Having scored an early goal to put them ahead, they’ve been pressing hard to get another and Liverpool, despite having more of the possession haven’t been able to land a shot on target.
This first half has been really disappointing for Liverpool as Wolves has been playing much better than their opponents. Wolves number 7, Neto has been having a very good performance this first half. They don’t seem to miss the departure of Adama
644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 15, 2023, 02:38:59 PM

I am not expecting much from Manchester United. First of all at the beginning of this season I also thought that Manchester United will play very well this season and their aim is to win the title. But after watching their performance, I realized quite well that my assumption was wrong. Manchester United's performance is very poor. They have won just two out of four matches. Despite winning two matches, their performance was not very good.

I also hoped for a much better performance from Man United this season and while they’ve been playing below what I had hoped, I wouldn’t consider winning two out of four matches played as being a very poor performance. Sure, it’s not the performance that had been expected of them so far, we shouldn’t ignore the fact that it’s only four games that have been played before hastily passing judgment on their performance.

I am hoping for a Man United win in the game against Brighton. It may not be an easy one as Brighton is no pushover but I think United would win the game. I also think we could see goals from both sides.
645  Economy / Economics / Re: Human Capital, An Intangible Asset for a Company's success. on: September 15, 2023, 09:38:05 AM
Human capital is no doubt a valuable asset to an organization and when it’s recognized and utilized in an organization, the organization would definitely grow.
Organizations today recognize the great benefits human capital can bring to the organization and that’s why they have the HR Department to help the organization cash in.

A happy and satisfied employee would be extremely loyal, motivated and would go all out to ensure the success of the organization.

Today's gossip:

Arsenal and Norway midfielder Martin Odegaard, 24, and England defender Ben White, 25, are set to commit their long-term futures to the Gunners by signing new contracts. (football.london)

Yeah, I didn’t think Arsenal would be willing to let go of either player. Both players have been prolific and has helped Arsenal attain new heights. And why wouldn’t they sign new contracts with Arsenal? They’re doing so well and are much loved by fans. Better to hold on to important players so as to be able to achieve club goals in the long run.
Also, it would be wise to extend their contracts and hold on to them before they get snatched away by some other club that has enough money and willing to spend it.
647  Economy / Economics / Re: CBDCs are created for unemployment purpose on: September 15, 2023, 07:55:35 AM
What if, with the introduction of CBDC, all your money becomes controlled by the state and tomorrow you are told that you will not be able to use it until you get some kind of vaccination, and without it you will not be allowed to work. You will not have a job and you will not have affordable means of subsistence and you will be forced to do what the government tells you.

Of course, this may sound absurd now, but I do not rule out that this could happen in the future, most recently during a pandemic, I saw something similar, but if the government had even more control levers, then this situation would become much more complex.

It actually doesn’t sound absurd and I think it’s also not that different from what is currently happening today. With fiat currency today, banks could seize your money deposited in your account or withhold it simply at the request of some certain government agency.

Government seeks to influence, if not outright control more of the lives of its citizens and with CBDCs, it would be a great step in that path.
Government could also use tools like this to punish citizens who are seen as dissidents.
648  Economy / Economics / Re: Economics is not fulfilling its true potential as a science on: September 15, 2023, 07:21:39 AM

What do you think about economists, who study the theories of economics and brag about being vast in the study of economics, yet doesn't help or contribute sufficiently to control or stop world economic meltdown?

Not all economist carry the same view and opinions on how to go about making positive changes in the economy and while they could recommend policies, they actually can’t implement them.

You wouldn’t fault just the economist for failing to contribute sufficiently to curb economic problems in a country and the world at large.
In a country, Representatives in government are the ones who votes on new policies being put forward and they tend to vote more on policies that would put more money in their pockets and that of their already wealthy donors thus constantly increasing the gap between the rich and the poor.

TBH, I actually really feel sorry for Maguire, who is always bullied on social media, giving harsh words for every mistake he makes in every match, even though people dont see other players who have done the same thing.

and after all, Maguire is a crazy player who always makes own goals and he can not count how many times he has made this mistake, even at MU he has also made several own goal mistakes and every time I see Maguire score a goal in his own net I scream the loudest and say the player is so ridiculous that he should not be competing on the field.

You feel sorry for him when seeing harsh words being said by fans to him. And yet, when you watch him make those same mistakes, you scream the loudest and also say some words yourself.

Fans can get really emotional when a player constantly makes mistakes that could ultimately give their opponents the win. And while I’m not rooting for online bullying from fans, you would admit that some of the unfavorable comments being said by fans are accurate. You said it yourself, the player is ridiculous and shouldn’t be competing on the field.

Everton is currently at the bottom of the table, and they have not been able to win any club this season, so I don’t think Everton will even be able to compete with Arsenal in their next match. Everton's performance is just kind of poor this season, after playing four matches, they could only draw one match which they scored  two goals, it happened in their last match against Sheffield United. I am not underestimating Everton, but no matter how hard they try to win Arsenal, I don’t think that will be possible for them. I have confidence that the match will be a easy win for Arsenal, and am expecting Arsenal to win with a wide goal margin.

I too think Arsenal has a very good chance of winning the game against Everton who haven’t been able to win any of their games so far. Arsenal on the other hand, is currently in top form and ready to claim the win when they meet on this weekend.
I had initially thought of the possibility of having a draw in the game as Everton may pull a fast one to surprise is all but I wouldn’t want to have any false hopes for Everton especially as they’re going up against a top team like Arsenal. I don’t know about the wide goal margin, but I think Arsenal would win the game.
651  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The power of influencials and brand ambassadors, don't fall for it. on: September 13, 2023, 11:58:04 PM
Brand ambassadors do not really need to know everything about what they advertise or use same. Companies and businesses pay them because of their audience... people that will know about the business or product through their platform.

I think brand ambassadors should have a great deal of knowledge and understanding of what they’re trying to sell to their audience. It’s only fair that they do.
But a lot don’t seem to care about what they’re advertising as long as they’re getting paid without receiving any public backlash. As ambassadors of a brand, you should have an above average understanding of whatever product or services you’re representing.
652  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: September 13, 2023, 11:30:36 PM
I agree with you,  the Saudi Arabia clubs are strongly coming out and in the next few seas in ahead that league will become one of the most followed league in the same category with other international leagues such as premiere leagues,  champion leagues,  and La Liga respectively.

A lot has happened with some of the clubs that have brought attention to the Saudi Arabia club side and going forward,  a lot of other doors are going to be open for them to gain more international recognition.

I do think they still have quite a long road ahead to healthily compete with other top league like the EPL. And a few years might not be enough. They’re getting some new fan base as more people are now watching their leagues, thanks to recent and new signings from European clubs. I still have doubts they would ever get the amount of viewers that’s currently enjoyed by other top leagues.
They’re getting international recognition as they’re increasing investments in sports and not just in football.
653  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 13, 2023, 10:59:26 PM
People who's misjudged Andre Onana's goalkeeping prowess because of the number of goals he has conceded for Manchester United this season probably doesn't know much about football or just being unnecessarily sentimental with their views about the former Ajax and  Inter Milan shot stopper.
The number of goals that's been conceded by Manchester United this season were all caused by United's poor defending and general play. Erik Ten Hag needs to work on the defence mechanisms of the club so they won't be conceded numerous number of goals.

I think people have set high expectations of new players just coming in and when those expectations aren’t met, they’ll get disappointed. Onana is a superb goalie and would prove himself soon enough. People just need to stop setting ridiculously high expectations of players cause they’ll only end up getting disappointed.
Goals conceded doesn’t lie with the goalie alone. Defenders mostly share the fault with the goalie and Manchester United defense hasn’t been top notch lately. We shouldn’t set high expectations for players and get pissed off when those expectations aren’t met.
654  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: September 12, 2023, 11:59:15 PM

It seems like Saudi and China cannot be equated because after all, even though at that time the Chinese League recruited some European players. But still, there was no significant growth and or no increased popularity about the Chinese league at that time. This is clearly very different from the Saudis who managed to bring in many great European players, not just one or two but many. Therefore, right now even if they choose to play in Saudi then I believe, playing in Saudi is not the end because the Saudi league in fact has long-term prospects and not just increasing popularity.

The Chinese super league had initially spent some good money in a bid to acquire players from Europe but later gave up that venture as it generally wasn’t profitable and their league didn’t attain the popularity they had hoped for when bringing in such players.
The Saudi league on the other hand, has the means to build and develop their league as well as setting aside a lot of funds in bringing in players from Europe. The stark difference is the Saudis are keen to develop and grow their football leagues and this is evident in the increasing number of European players making the move to go over and play in their league.
655  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 12, 2023, 11:30:49 PM

From my observers, in their 4 matches in this competition, City has experienced a decline in the quality of goals. City's expectations are too big given the record they have. Even though they carried out their matches smoothly, their goal productivity decreased greatly. except, during the Fulham match. The point is that since Pep has not re-applied his 3-2-4-1 formation pattern, there has been a change in their camp. Luckily Pep is a smart coach and has lots of tactics and strategies, he is now more inclined to implement a 4-2-3-1 system.

I would say the number of goals scored by a team wouldn't seem that relevant considering the team going ahead to ultimately win the game.
The league is still quite young and any club going up against Manchester City would strive to score goals to claim the win and also trying their utmost best not to concede goals themselves. Manchester City may not be scoring a lot of goals in the few games they’ve played but they have managed to secure wins.
They seem to be managing well enough without the influence of De Bruyne in their games. With a coach like Pep, I doubt there’s any surprise there.
656  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The Importance of inviting Newbies to Bitcointalk on: September 12, 2023, 10:59:29 PM
I’m inclined to think a good number of people on here found the forum by themselves when trying to do some research or had questions relating to bitcoin. It’s not a bad idea to try and invite new people to join the forum as like the OP noted, they could bring fresh and innovative ideas.

You mentioned that without new topics, it could be quite challenging for signature campaigners to fulfill their weekly task and something about 50% of topics being created by newbies. I fail to understand how challenging it could be as literally anyone could bring forward a topic to be discussed.

You also mentioned how higher ranked members don’t always participate in contests as most are having busy schedules due to their signature campaigns. I don’t think that’s true. Members don’t participate due to various reasons and definitely not cause of having busy schedules due to signature campaigns.

You said it yourself. We can equally tell them about the benefits the forum offers. It’s no surprise why newbies primarily care so much about ranks and less about actually learning something new.

Presently, there’s only one factor that makes Saudi clubs being, in a way superior and that’s in the case of funding. With their extremely deep pockets, they could try and entice any player they want into coming over to play. The issue of funding is a very important factor but that alone cannot even begin to make it superior.

Don't be jealous.

If the players want to move from UEFA leagues to Saudi Professional League, then they have solid reasons to do so. I agree that money is definitely one of the considerations. Obviously in the recent past, UEFA clubs used their deep pockets to steal American, African and Asian players. Now Saudi Arabia is giving them a taste of their own medicine. Overall, quality of football in UEFA confederation is on the decline (would make an exception for France and England). And once the star players depart from their leagues, the quality will go down even further.

Jealous of what exactly? The deep pockets of the Saudis? That’s ridiculous

I’m not losing any sleep over players moving over to the Saudi league for whatever reasons as their decision doesn’t affect me. Also, I’m aware that money, being a strong deciding factor in the decision making of some players has always been used to attract players. It’s nothing new. The Chinese at some point, also had players from Europe come over to play for their super league until it didn’t seem to be profitable for them anymore.

Star players who are also starting to see the end of their careers and leaving for the Saudi league won’t affect the quality of European football. With the exit of these star players, younger players with amazing talents are also entering the scene.
658  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Do You Manage Your Adrenaline Rush In Gambling? on: September 12, 2023, 03:59:28 AM
Whenever i play and I’m lucky enough to have a winning streak, that’s when adrenaline kicks in and I feel enthusiastic and confident about playing more having only positive thoughts of more wins. When that happens, I know it’s time to stop playing and head home with my winnings.

On the other hand, nothing dampens an adrenaline rush in me like being on a losing streak and ultimately losing all your bankroll. The confidence fades and at that point, I’ll not be so enthusiastic as before about playing anymore. Losing out takes all the excitement away.
With very little motivation to go on, I wouldn't wait till I’m cleaned out before heading home.

Ronaldo is old, very old but he still plays well and even better than many young players. He is worse than himself two or three years ago but his ambition is still high. He is still very professional with his body, training and career and he luckily avoided serious injuries through his career. At this age, any serious injury can end his career immediately and let's hope he will not get such because it's special time to enjoy a player like Ronaldo.

He may be considered an old player but he sure plays better than a lot of younger players today. He has continually worked really hard over the years, training and trying to improve on himself on the pitch. Ronaldo worked for and has earned a spot amongst the very best players in the history of football.

However, it will be crazy if Lewandowski and Salah finally move to SPL, too. This further shows the superiority of the Saudi clubs, especially in the strength of club funds.

Despite the tempting offers coming from Saudi Arabia many players still love to play in Europe. Kevin De Bruyne is having a great time at Manchester City, I doubt he will be considering a move outside Europe at the moment. As for Lewandowski, I cannot rule out a possibility of joining the Saudi clubs in the future because he is aged and more likely he may want a good pay and a less competitive league to finish the rest of his career.

There are a number of factors that could help sway a players decision to remain in his present club or make the move to a different club or to a new league entirely. To some, the amount to be earned is paramount while some still play for the glory of the sport.

A lot of players who are mostly still energetic and in their prime may still opt to remain where they could play competitive football despite receiving amazing offers from a not so competitive league.
I too don’t envisage De Bruyne leaving Man City for anywhere else anytime soon. He’s an amazing player and most likely still valued by Pep.
