641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New to staking - is this worth it? on: July 15, 2022, 09:28:07 AM
Have just bought £100 worth of Verasity (VRA) which got me 24500 total.

I have just gone to withdraw this to stake elsewhere but noticed there is a fee of 1500 VRA.

The APY for staking this crypto is 18.25% - is this worth doing or due to the fee am I just better off holding?
I disagree on the token itself. I mean what the hell is verasity. Now that I am checking it, it is barely in the top 400, why would you do that? If you really want to invest into something that would make you some profit, and you want to stake it at the same time, then why not go with cake? They have pure staking, not LP or anything, pure staking and you could make a lot of money from it as well when the time comes.

If VRA ever goes up, I believe that Cake would be going up at the same time as well. Or if you are not sure about that, go with ETH or BNB which both have staking features in Binance and you could make a little, but guaranteed income.

I have only invested £100 - if it goes to zero then so be it.

But if it does a 100 x then it is well worth it - I think the metaverse will be massive in the next 3-5 years.
642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Luna Classic - Thoughts? on: July 15, 2022, 09:25:11 AM
I see people on youtube thinking it will reach £1 again one day but they are in dream land.

£0.005 would give me £15k return from £150 investment and that to me is worth a gamble.

It will be interesting to come back on here in the next 6-12 months to see where Luna Classic is at.
643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Luna Classic - Thoughts? on: July 14, 2022, 10:01:21 AM
It is money I can afford to lose long term.

Even if it only reaches 0.0005 one day that will be a 10x for me which I could bank and put into a more solid crypto.

I am not expecting big profits in the near future, am prepared to hold this for the next 18-24 months to see what happens.
644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Luna Classic - Thoughts? on: July 13, 2022, 11:03:41 PM
Interesting to see that 90% of us think Luna is dead coin.

I understand the chances of this being correct are high but I thought it was worth a gamble while the prices are this low. It is not like I have a portfolio full of meme coins.

Forget it reaching £1, it won’t. I would likely sell if it was to reach around £0.005 which is possible one day.

I have 9,000 Gala - does anyone know if there is a way of transferring these onto my Ledger from Coinbase?
646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Luna Classic - Thoughts? on: July 13, 2022, 02:12:55 PM
Hi all,

I have invested £150 into Luna Classic since their crash which is a gamble I know but is a gamble I am happy taking.

You've prepared for the worst when investing into that project. Zero or hero mindset will do you more harm than good if you continue to invest in dead project.
If you would give a f**k about my opinion, then i would advise you take out what's left of your investment in Luna and invest in other projects with more potential.

No big investor (who is sane) will put their funds into Luna, because the project has lost the trust and confidence of investors and that will mean your hope of even a penny will never come to life.

I have £5.5k in Crypto and this £150 is my only real gamble.

I don't believe it will ever reach £1 but £0.005 is a possibility one day and even that would give me a 100x having got in at these low prices.

647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Luna Classic - Thoughts? on: July 13, 2022, 12:41:23 PM
Do we think it is over or is there a possibility of recovery?
It's over and it will not recover again. We have 2 garbage luna coins now and why do you believe if lunc will be going up again? that's a non sense thing to happen with it. I meant you must realize the fact that people have been leaving this garbage coin with so many people have been loosing their life savings. The price will still remain the same forever.

Some people are saying £1 is possible but I have 3 million so even reaching a penny would be great for me.
If you are beliving in those people and you must be so stupid enough. It's so easy to speculate like that but you must know also if the possibility was not so big.
So you must aware if that will not possible to happen. Did you think garbage coin like that worth to reach trillion marketcap?

I do not think it will go up to £1 but a penny is a possibility and if that happens I will have turned my £150 into £30,000. Even going to half a penny I would be more than happy with.

I do not expect this straight away by the way I am talking 2-3 years.

Would be interesting to hear what everyone's thoughts are on this.

Why an earth would you do that? Are you looking for community takeover and if so what would they develope on that so it would be worth it? I feel it will be pump and dump at some point for pseudonymous developers who have bought the bottom.

Like I said , it is a gamble. It will either go to nothing or I will see great returns.

but it has been ‘pending’ on Coinbase for nearly half an hour now.
This is to do with Coinbase, and has nothing to do with you. Their system will either be working through a backlog, performing some additional security checks before processing your withdrawal, or maybe waiting for a number of other users to request a withdrawal as well so it can batch them all together to save on fees. If this happens you usually just have to be patient and it will resolve. Occasionally the exchange will send you an email saying something is wrong and telling you what to do next.

is this the right one? I can’t see any others.
I'm have no idea because I've never used this coin, but a quick search online did find this: https://medium.com/cronos-chain/cro-is-now-cronos-bf103c257bd

Thanks - I will send over a small amount of CRO later to test it but it sounds like it is the correct one.

I have half my crypto on my ledger now and will send over the rest tonight, it does give you and instant feel of relief knowing they are secure.

I have so far transferred my Polygon, Algorand & Quant over however have just test my LCX but it has been ‘pending’ on Coinbase for nearly half an hour now.

First time this has happened with the others going through straight away, do some others take longer then others or is there a problem? I have double checked the address and it is correct so not sure what is causing this delay.

Ignore this is has all gone through, only 1% fee too which is not bad at all  Grin

Another question, I have 8,000 CRO I want to transfer over to my ledger but when searching the account on ledger live it says ‘Crypto.org’  - is this the right one? I can’t see any others.

Is Quant classed as an Ethereum token? If so, should be fine sending to Ethereum account?
Yes and yes. "ERC20" tokens are Ethereum tokens. It stands for Ethereum Request for Comment 20.

If you are unsure, then send across some small fraction of one Quant (whatever is possible when considering any withdrawal fees), make sure it arrives and shows up correctly on Ledger Live, and then send across the rest.

So when sending over a small amount when I am unsure , if it shows in ledger live then all is ok?

If it doesn’t work or is not valid then it just wouldnt show?
654  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Which hardware wallet to buy? on: July 12, 2022, 06:53:00 PM
I have just sent my first crypto over to my ledger from Coinbase which was Algorand.

The fee was only 0.002 Algo which is nothing so pleasantly surprised by that! It took less than 30 seconds for the crypto to show on ledger live so am impressed with that.

Is it only tokens involved with Ethereum that come with high fees?
655  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Which hardware wallet to buy? on: July 12, 2022, 06:02:18 PM
Hi,

So am just setting up my nano S plus and currently adding accounts.

For example I have 12 Quant, and when trying to add account it says ‘Quant is an ERC20 token. You can receive tokens directly on an Ethererum account.’

I then click ‘receive’ but then it comes up with the following ..

‘Please only send ETH or Ethererum tokens to Ethereum accounts. Sending other crypto assets may result in the permanent loss of funds.’

So I am not sure , at first it sounds like I can send Quant to Ethereum account but then the second statement makes it sound like only ETH can be sent to ethereum account.

Is Quant classed as an Ethereum token? If so, should be fine sending to Ethereum account?

Being new to this I just want to make sure I do things right and these 12 Quant I have will be worth thousands in the future so don’t want to mess anything up!

Hi all,

My nano s plus arrived yesterday so will be setting it up after work later today.

This may be an obvious question but again I am new to all this so want to make sure I do everything correctly..

Do i need to download a different app for each crypto I hold?
657  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New to staking - is this worth it? on: July 08, 2022, 01:39:12 PM
I have decided not to stake for now and just hold.

On the site they say there is no locked period however it does take 72 hours once I decide to unstake to get my funds and a lot can happen in 72 hours.

I will just hold for now.
658  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Crypto tax UK ? on: July 07, 2022, 04:53:07 PM
Have just been thinking, when I am really to sell my crypto for GBP do I withdraw the funds to my bank and then sort out the tax or is the money taxed before you withdraw the funds to your bank?

If it is up to us to sort the tax out after withdrawing the funds to our bank, how does this work?
659  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Which hardware wallet to buy? on: July 07, 2022, 04:50:23 PM
Nano it’s the best

I only want to use the ledger when at home I dont need the bluetooth which i have heard isnt the best so doesnt make sense for me to pay double the price for the nano x.
660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: New to staking - is this worth it? on: July 06, 2022, 09:25:23 PM
I am damn sure that if you are not confident about the token you are staking itself, then it would be a hard situation. Yes, you can calculate it like that today, but are you 100% sure that in 18 months it is going to be like that?

For example, if you invest and stake a token that goes down so much that it turns out it was a scam and becomes zero, or happens to be like Luna, what are you going to do? This is why we should always be picking the coin itself, and not the mathematical calculation of what looks profitable. I have seen memecoisn with 5000% returns, do you really think that it would actually give me 5000% returns? Of course not, that is why pick the project, not the return.

If it goes to zero then i only lose the amount of money I put in to begin with and because I am getting in now at these very low prices, it is not much I am risking.

If however it does a 20-50x from current price by 2024 which is possible, then I will be in the money if I stake for a while.

The more I think about it the more staking sounds like it is worth the risk.
