I know how you feel DogTheHunter. Be careful with spending money that you don't have. Credit card is the worst of it, and remember these markets are volatile. It can be down 90% and up again 300%.
You should put aside say $50 a week from your income and by the end of month you'd have $200+ to play with.
Thanks, but just when you think things can't get any worse, they do just that. My wife mostly users her tablet for looking up the weather and seeing what's on tv. Her phone is where she does a lot of social media and emails. Thinking that we needed to go out for the day and get away from our mounting debt arguments, yesterday I picked up her tablet to see what the weather was going to be like over the weekend. One of the tabs was on debt advice, which is understandable given the situation I've put our young family in. But when looking at her related search history, she seemed to have spent quite a lot of time on 'divorce and debt - who takes responsibility'. I'm totally in shock right now. A million things go racing through your mind in flashes and it really is like being awake during a nightmare.

DEV TEAM!!!! PLEASE POST A VIDEO SHOWING TORRENT FUNCTIONALITY
I probably won't be able to pay the rent in a few months, so it would help me out dev. Please post a video.

It was my decision to do this, but I used a few credit cards to buy bitcoins to invest in vtorrent. I'm down so much since buying more than I should have done when the price was closer to $5m. I'm totally fucked right now and every day it gets worse. Totally fucked That's shit man. Hopefully you learn from this, and things recover before it's too late. Just hold tight and have faith. If it's any comfort, my whole portfolio was down 75% at the end of last year, when I was new to crypto. I held on tight, made some more smart buys to get my average prices down, and now I'm massively into the profit overall. Just don't panic and keep the faith. Hopefully the devs have something for us soon. We really deserve it for holding this long. What other projects are you in? SMD I wasn't joking a few weeks ago about having to pay rent. I'm completely screwed in so many ways now.

Hello Dev, There has been no news since may. Can you update us on the state of v8.2.1 ? Also, how do I add new nodes on linux client v8.1 ?
regards,
Hi Devs, please share some videos of the Bittorrent working and give an estimate of when to expect version 8.2.1 to drop or be given to community beta testersWe all do really need to know this now because it looks like some people already know in private, but it needs to be public.

I need to sell about 1,000 VTR to help pay my rent next week. Can you make announcement, please?

Dear all,
This project is indeed still being actively developed.
Due to nature of BitTorrent sharing, we have been experimenting with the possibility of migrating ZEC's zero-knowledge to VTR core to improve users anonymity and try to do without needing of reseting the current chain.
vTorrent 0.9.1z will be the first version to incorporate the zero-knowledge protocol and if resetting the chain is needed, there could possibly be a fork of vTorrent-Classic running by community keeping the 0.8.x chain.
There are some other plan along with this new chain, which is still being in discussion in our team.
Regards, vTorrent
Would be nice to see a video of that in action

I don't know, but the reason for that is because the developer said he doesn't want to make the torrent functionality open source because of its value and being awesome and stuff. That sounds dodgy to me. Look at all the [awesome] cryptos out there on the top 100 and ask yourself if they aren't open source. Open source and transparency is critical in the decentralized web, especially when there's one developer working on a coin making it pretty centralized. I think this community and all investors must push for transparency if this project is to be successful. It has been addressed, a few months ago the devs (more than one) said that everything will be open sourced, at the right time. Being in active development means that going open source before everything is ready is a risk that others will just copy everything and claiming it all as their ideas. There are a lot of features you will only find in vTorrent, things that others can't do, so it's worth preserving that for a short while. But we all agree that open source is the best policy.

Someone bought a lot of coins on trex, that's happened a couple of times now, hmmmm.
Dev silent as usual, insider buying?
You wouldn't buy that amount of coins without knowing something.
We really need all the weak hands that dump at the slightest sneeze of a price rise to just exit and fuck off already. We should be at $20m by now. I'm sure there are plenty of people willing to OTC large buys.

So if I start seeding I will be rewarded with vTorrent ? How much ? per gb ? mb ? I would like to try it out and see what it is like. It is quite exciting.
The dev will explain.

Hey All, Downloaded the client - anyboyd having the issue where the wallet remains offline and as a result gets 0 connections? Not sure how to fix but would love to get staking G Could anybody help me ? I've been trying to sync for over 80 hours now, debug log shows mostly 'UPnP Port Mapping successful.' , last block time still at do okt 30 05:45:54 2014 though. im using version v0.8.1.1-g I'm not sure what's going wrong or how to figure that out.
same problem here, been close to a week now. Watch the youtube videos, links from vtorrent.info https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f--GYd-QFuwand get a list of other nodes to connect with from - http://vtrchains.com/networkyou need to create a config file and put the IP addresses from the nodes list. your vtorrent-HD client can be found by putting this into your windows folder explorer %appdata% inside the folder where you wallet is located, put the config file. If you know how, you can use the in-wallet console and addnode=94.65.74.121 addnode

@Dev On paper, VTR is x1000 better than LBRY. The reason this is not reflected in the price, is simply because an inferior project does things like communicating a little more. Nothing else. They have thousands of people in their slack not because their technology is better, but just more engagement. Please share a little more, as is the nature of BitTorrent If not, a video? Actually, just the video will do the job.

How long does it takes before you start staking on the wallet?
A few minutes
|
|
|
Does wallet syncing usually take up to 24 hours ?
about that.

Do you (people here in general) think the wallet is safer to store vtr than bittrex ?
Holding vtr in your own wallet is safer than Bittrex. Clearly Morantis hasn't used the 2FA in the wallet - a first for any crypto project. You also get the benefit of earning free VTRs for staking if you hold the funds, otherwise you are just giving free VTRs to Trex. Using the wallet, 2FA always protects your funds, even when staking. I've used it loads of times and it's rock solid. As second line of protection, the wallet is also HD enabled, so remembering a series of random words means you can get your wallet back in minutes if your pc gets corrupted or you get locked out by malware Links to videos on using the 2FA are on the vtorrent.info website

@vTorrent This image clearly shows you are building torrent functionality around Transmission, which is a great option. It also shows your client is fully syncd, that you have a fully working torrent implementation because your seed ratio clock is completely in sync with the public blockchain. There looks like a stable release candidate on the network. If you look at the bottom of the image it clearly shows torrent functionality is working on the devs client. The text in red looks like something cooking on the payment for torrents front I also just noticed that torrents are working on the current version of the client, so we probably don't have to do a hard fork to see it working (or do we?) He is running this: QString 132 TorrentDelegate :: shortTransferString( const Torrent& tor ) const 133 { 134 const bool haveDown( tor.peersWeAreDownloadingFrom( ) > 0 ); 135 const bool haveUp( tor.peersWeAreUploadingTo( ) > 0 ); 136 QString downStr, upStr, str; 137 138 if( haveDown ) 139 downStr = Utils :: speedToString( tor.downloadSpeed( ) ); 140 if( haveUp ) 141 upStr = Utils :: speedToString( tor.uploadSpeed( ) ); 142 143 if( haveDown && haveUp ) 144 str = tr( "Down: %1, Up: %2" ).arg(downStr).arg(upStr); 145 else if( haveDown ) 146 str = tr( "Down: %1" ).arg( downStr ); 147 else if( haveUp ) 148 str = tr( "Up: %1" ).arg( upStr ); 149 else 150 str = tr( "Idle" ); 151 152 return str; 153 } Unless they have made some big changes, it's 100% Transmission BUMP Dig deep into the image above and you'll see that the devs do have a working torrent implementation. Just no idea why they can't or won't share a 5 second video clip of it to keep everyone happy

hearing nothing atm, so waiting for this to drop to 1000 sat from 8000 so i can buy Dream on. This is as cheap as it gets. x100 from here trust me, with the broken promises, it will bottom out quick Not really broken promises. Just a group of devs that for some reason don't communicate. They want to have a community, but don't do anything to encourage one. So people get fed up and move on to another project. Some find projects with no dev, scam dev, etc. Some are happy to pay $100/coin because the devs of a project spend all their time communicating and talking to their community - regardless of whether their token actually has a real life use case or not. VTR could right now be worth $30m, if the devs actually just spent a bit more time keeping people informed. But they don't. I think it's their single biggest mistake, but that's life. So the people that know this project is a diamond in the rough, they are actively hodling and quietly accumulating. It won't dump down to nothing (I wish it did, I'd fill up another couple of bags).
