641  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Economic reflex; learning from the past and adapting to the present reality. on: December 29, 2023, 06:13:25 PM
We know say when we de talk about our economic condition, na one of the major thing when almost all of us de easily relate with and because of this, I just say make I give us one or two economic advice when fit help us do well come 2024.

1.    Be smart in predicting the economic challenge peculiar with each season:  every season for our country de get problems when e de bring along and knowing this go help us make plans ahead on how to take avoid am. An example na this fuel and money scarcity when de normally happen every December, if like say we de always plan our selves well and we de keep some physical cash with us when fit carry us throughout the period, e for no de worry us d way e de do us now.

2.    Be prepared to adapt to changes: we know say things don too change for so many sectors and some of us never really de put in effort to embracing these changes, whichever field you de into, try ensure say you de updated with the current way of doing things so you won't be seen as someone that lacks value and a replacement sort in your place. If it requires you to take up a course, do so and ensure you are improving on a  regular so the world won't move on and leave you behind.

3.    Look for multiple streams of income that is parallel:   this one na him de important pass because with the way problem de come every year, we know go fit tell wetin 2024 De bring to the table so I go advice say as long as you de earn online, make you also see say you get wetin go de fetch

You money for the physical space. No eat all your money when he come into your hand, save some and invest some into business. Their is a lot of advantages in having multiple steams of income that are parallel, by parallel I mean that it's best one should be online and another, offline.
The covid thought me mad lesson that financial crisis can hit any man if proper plan is not on ground. Be wise.

4    Regulate your spending and don't show people how much you own : this is very important because we know how entitled our people can be sometimes most especially when they know how much you are earning, they will choke you with bills and if care is not taken you will have little or nothing in your savings. Spend less and save or invest more, no go de allow pressure and comparison push you to doing things you are not financially ready to start doing, work on your pace and spend only when it's necessary to do so.

Conclusively, be wise with your decisions and don't joke with your financial life, be very flexible as it regards changing your method of doing things when the need arises, don't get stuck in an obsolete way of doing things and later you complain of economic this or that, bitcointalk members an correct people when he wise and I believe say we go do great things together come 2024.

Happy new year in advance nija board.

643  Economy / Economics / Re: If Banks make money out of loans then they should reward those who borrow on: December 29, 2023, 04:45:19 PM
You're getting a whole lot of concept wrong here and it's sad to know that you've just displayed that you don't know how the financial systems work and you know little or nothing regarding how banks get profit from her customers.

Although most banks has their limitations but you should know that the primary motive of any bank is to make profit and so they render the services of keeping your money safe and creating ease of withdrawing it whenever you are in need of it. While your saved money could be used for business purposes like lending it out or even investing it in stuff, whenever you are in need of your funds, the bank always releases it to you which means that they are keeping to their side of the agreement.

If for any reason you take a look from a bank or acquire a mortgage from them, based on the agreement reached you are expected to pay off the stipulated amount and I feel that not reasonable to destroy the collateral you used in obtaining a loan from the bank just because you don't want them to cease it.

Banks serve a peculiar problem and bitcoin and any other cryptocurrency are developed to solve their own problem and so I feel that diminishing one of them just so the other could be seen as a better option is quiet unreasonable.

Happy Holding mate , we will always be proud of people like you that does not care about what others and social media says instead focusing on your goals of supporting and having bitcoin in your pocket.
I must say you are one of the best example of how the world will adopt bitcoin because of how you trusted this and how you are proud of having it.
Good luck to us Holding bitcoin for long.
that's how the trend will go and before you know what has happened, the number of Bitcoin holders will increase across the span of the world.

This goes to show that the message has been heard and people have started making great decisions regardless of whatever negative news and propagandise information that might have been flowing across on the internet and the resistance the part of some local government and authorities.

Kudos for not just making an audio claim to have accumulated bitcoin but for actually making it as a necessity to buying and posting it here, it has served as a source of motivation to people have the intention of buying but have not made an effort to buying it.
645  Economy / Economics / Re: MicroStrategy Buys $250M in Bitcoin, Calling the Crypto ‘Superior to Cash’ on: December 29, 2023, 08:41:09 AM
I mean is there any proof that they are actually buying? It will be good to see even some indirect evidence
do they owe you any responsibility of showing details to support such claim? Would you even want to give out your holding just for a public show and in the long run put yourself at a serious disadvantage where hackers will do anything possible to get your wallet hacked.

Maybe you should understand that if you believe it or not doesn't make any difference and your opinion is just unpopular and doesn't make what is true become false.

647  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: I CANT LIE,THIS FORUM HAVE IMPROVED MY WRITING ALOT on: December 29, 2023, 06:37:59 AM
Omo,I used to struggle  back days to write extensively on topics in school,I might have the idea thou but the writen interpretation used to be a lot, then I was  introduced to the forum,I swear Initially i struggle to put any thing down.. gradually I see what people put down and am inspired,I started having the desire to learn this art of writing,I spend most times on post of others to learn one or two from them, and I can tell you Nigerians here are doing exceptionally well in terms of contribution to this forum and bitcoin at large

Over time I found out I could write with less stress than before, and my desire to also do research on random topics increased by some margin, which helped me alot in my closing phase in school and my work on my project topic. We have a great community in our hand in this forum and am glad to be part of it at this time.
this is so true.

I could remember that after writing actively in the forum for the first two weeks it's opens up my mind to the fact that I could do so well in blogging. I just had to think in a particular topic and pick up my phone and the rest is story.  It also built my thinking faculty that I can within a split of seconds think through a particular topic and give meaningful insight into it.

My writing experience in the forum goes a long way to show that if you put your mind and attention into anything, it will only take time before you become extremely good at it. And also, you might not know your potential until you start doing something and although at the outset it might seems difficult, give it time and you will do just fine.

Kudos to the journey this far.
648  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: African Proverbs in Pidgin on: December 29, 2023, 06:30:00 AM
I

Share a proverb, and then put up its meaning. It will be best if the proverb is written in pidgin English.

Make I kick start am with some Warri flavour. Area!

Nor be today wey yansh don dey back.
Meaning: We are used to such a situation.

make I yarn my own with my local dialect.

omonimu ikare awor
Meaning: when you grow up you will face reality, and it's not a course

Most parents in my locality will tell their children that might not be taking their lives seriously this proverb just so they know that it's not easy to take care of the home.

As a child if you being too demanding, our parents will tell you this implying that you will grow up to facing similar situation and that they hope you would be able to thrive throw it.
649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does Bounty really pay? on: December 29, 2023, 06:19:14 AM
Sometimes I find myself being added to Telegram groups where they are doing bounty campaigns for new coins but at the end of the day, people will start complaining that the project is dead. In most cases I exited from the groups immediately I find myself there because I feel they are prone to defrauding people.
This makes me to wonder if bounties really pay.
I can't really say that they don't pay totally, maybe you should look out for the bounty manager and sort fit his prior campaign history before shilling heaven and earth for nothing at the end of the day.

Their are bounty managers that once you see them managing a particular project, you just know that they will pay. But the take you be that once you're accepted into a particular bounty, just follow them up in that first week as they are most likely to pay and if they don't pay after then, you know that you've at least gained from them.
650  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk vs. YouTube from an educational viewpoint on: December 29, 2023, 06:10:16 AM
The comparison is literally unmatched.

If you want to get information as it regards bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency from YouTube, what you get majorly is an information from a single individual who want to talk you into believing what he his saying by all means so you will come back for more. To enable him do this, he will resort to using any known means which including unnecessary hype that could lead to serious misinformation but because this is coming from a single source, you don't see others coming to refute whatever wrong analogy he is actually painting because in the real sense, the majority if people looking out for those videos are newbie that don't know or have prior knowledge on bitcoin and cryptocurrency  before now.

Bitcointalk.com on the is a community that is made up of the newbies, the experienced and some super experienced individual that share their wealth of knowledge together. This in the first place is a crypto niche and so you don't expect that a platform like YouTube could have a chance of going head to head with it regarding sharing if content.

652  Economy / Economics / Re: The steps to follow in creating a budget on: December 29, 2023, 05:46:16 AM
Marry Christmas and happy new year.
It comes to me to share my knowledge with others, but I am sure some might know the steps in creating a budget, but it might be that they are not following it effectively. I hope if I share such knowledge, it will help a lot, especially in the season we are in now. I know that as we have already celebrated Christmas, we have spent much of our savings, which we are still going to spend more on when it comes to the New Year celebration, so I take this as a reason to share such information with others so others will not suffer, especially after all this celebration, so I will list and explain the steps in creating a budget.

The steps in the budget include

1. Determine your income: As the first step in creating a budget, you have to know your total income in terms of what you can afford. Do not write a budget that is more than your income and end up not achieving anything at the end because your income determines your budget, so let's take note of our income first. This income might include your weekly, monthly, or even yearly income, as well as side hustles and any other source of income.

2. Identify where your money is going: The second step in creating a budget is to track your expenses. This is also very important because, without knowing how you usually spend your money, you will end up writing a budget that you can’t even stick to. More over, expenses include housing, transportation, food, entertainment, gambling, and so on. When you have identified where your money is going, you can categorise it into groups. For instance, clothing, house rent fees, and others should all be in the category of housing. If that is done, you have definitely achieved your second step in creating a budget.

3. identify or set an achievable goal: This is the third step in creating a budget when you have identified your income, tracked your expenses, and categorised them. Why I say achievable goal is that you have to set a goal that you can achieve either long-term or short-term. For instance, you might save money in order to pay your debts, invest the money, or even pay for housing and any other expenses, such as buying valuable and usable items that won’t be a liability to you.

4. Start creating the budget or priorities for your expenses: This is the next step, for me. This is the step where you will start writing the budget. It is not that you won’t write those other steps I mentioned earlier; you will also write them, but this is the stage where you will allocate some amount of money to the categories that you have created at the second step, and you have to make sure that it aligns with your priorities. After allocating a certain amount of money to those categories, you should make sure that you keep some of it as emergency funds; it is also important.

5. Review the budget; in some cases, I mean monitoring, evaluation, or adjustment of the budget. This is like the final stage in creating a budget, although this stage is a continuous process because this stage never comes to an end unless you have purchased all that you have put in your budget to achieve this process, including regular adjustments as needed to accommodate and adjust your budget. This is done in case something comes up, such as the use of the emergency fund that you keep as a category for things like an increase in the price of what you intend to buy for medical expenses, which might be an emergency, and many others. In this step, you must track your budget very carefully and with caution to make sure you have achieved it.

The steps I have listed above are the ones I follow whenever I want to write a budget. You can change this step in many ways. For instance, a gambler can use it, but it will be more effective with the amount he needs for the gambling, and he should make sure he follows the track, so stick to the budget to avoid the source of unusual spending.

I think that thee way you structured the title of this thread and the content of the thread had not done more justice to the required intention behind the thread. Maybe being more detailed on what you mean by setting up a budget could have helped me understand the context of what you are trying to say. When you talk about setting a budget, I guess it's more of setting out an amount you will be spending out of your earnings or the amount you will be saving out of your earning right?

Setting budget in either of those cases is very necessary as it would help you avoid unnecessary spending and will also go a long way in increasing your savings and reducing unnecessary spending.
653  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What we all learnt this 2023 on: December 29, 2023, 05:36:10 AM
Stop over diversification, what I call over diversification is putting your money in every crypto project that comes your way.
I think it's far better to have few crypto that you are constantly, than investing violently in so many project.

yeah, choose a crypto you want to invest in and stick to it, new project will keep coming and might seems to have good prospect although it won't take long before they become irrelevant, choosing a particular crypto asset is the best advice.
654  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies are not Scums.... Learning is a Process and it's progressive. on: December 28, 2023, 05:17:09 PM
Make your points on people's posts constructively and with respect.
this is very necessary and I don't see any reason why an old member can't advice a supposed newbie in a matured and responsible manner.

One of the major concern I also have as it relates to matters as this is that their are people that have prior experience as it regard bitcoin and cryptocurrency but might not have been an active member of the forum, and then they now join the forum and make a post that is matured and shows how experience the person is, you will see numerous attack on the individual as though one cannot do his research and get lots of information that although his account might be showing newbie or jnr member, he could be more experience than some legendary.

The journey in the forum is one that takes time and no one should be discouraged just because he is joining the forum as a new person. If they spam or make a faulty appearance in the forum, let's first direct and guide them responsibly and when they seem not to be taking the advice seriously, they could then be shunned it reported in reputation board.

let love lead
655  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: No rush say because of post count say you no go make meaningful contribution o on: December 28, 2023, 05:01:16 PM
Normally to de consistent on quality post and meeting up on the required post count for the week could be very challenging, most especially for those that have other things going on in their corner that is eating up their time.

Some persons are multitasking and before they even get the chance to come to the forum, their won't be enough time to do much and do the night be tempted to just drop posts and replies just to meet up with the minimum required post for the week. This might reduce their post quality and might appear as though they are being relaxed or that they are not putting the needed effort in bringing quality to the forum, but in the midst of all these, as a person, you need to decide that whatever post you are dropping is going to be of high quality and this is dependent on how naturally brilliant you are.

The quality of you post and replies no be wetin anybody go use play because na your reputation you de build so and if you are able to prove to the board that your content and contributions are always top-notch, if for any reason someone is assuming that you're plagiarizing, it would be easy to look back at your previous post and see that this could be a mistake or mix up.

Quality over quantity, any day, anytime  .
656  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Rising case of kidney and liver failure...watch wetin you drink on: December 28, 2023, 04:50:15 PM
What do you expect? When you see the excessive consumption of alcoholic drinks and herbs by most youth.

You go to most shops and make enquiry, you will know that one if the things they sell most is sachet alcohol. The owners of those brand have so packaged it and made it so cheap that most commercial drivers just takes it like water every morning before starting their hustle for the day. I think it's high time they regular the quantity of alcohol that is allowed in circulation because it intake is become increasingly bad to be honest.

Well, one has to take of of his health so most if this diseases doesn't find it way into our body because no be this kind sickness ooor man pikin surpose de get. God go help us
657  Economy / Economics / Re: A career - as an employee or a business owner which do you prefer and why? on: December 28, 2023, 04:42:37 PM
The decision to look for an already existing job or to create one is hinged on so many factors and depends a lot on the circumstances peculiar to the individual in question.

Starting a new business or brand requires that you've hard experienced in the field so as to help you thrive well, if you are just starting life and if you're still very young, it could be advisable to work for someone for a while is you can get the needed skill and experience that is needed to enable you thrive well when you eventually start up your own business.

Finance could also be a serious factor because if you don't have enough capital, you might need to work for someone just so you can raise the capital needed to enable you start the business.

But the most important thing is to adj yourself the question if it is necessary to even start a business of your own or not, sometimes it's not too necessary to start up a business even when you have the capital, you could invest into things or buy the service of others to do version things for you while they pay you regularly for it.
658  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Best piece of advice to anyone going into bitcoin on: December 28, 2023, 03:49:44 PM
Buy a little bit of bitcoin every week don't care if it's a $1, $5, $10, $100, figure out what you can afford every week and buy it, get rid of unnecessary expenses or whatever you can think of getting rid of and spend it on bitcoin
5 to 10 years if you buy some every week you will be a multi millionaire
maybe you could put it this way.

"Instead of saving a particular amount of money from your salary after receiving your pay, why not use the amount you've assigned for your savings in buying Bitcoin such that anytime you salary comes in, you can just send the stipulated amount for the purchase of bitcoin so that way, instead of your money remaining dormant in the bank, it yields returns on a regular bases."

If you give someone that's into monthly or weekly savings this kind of advice, it would be easier for the oerOj to opt into bitcoin investment.
659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Google and X ads are the new weapon for crypto scammers on: December 28, 2023, 07:19:24 AM

Crypto scammers, pose a serious threat to users. These harmful programs unlawfully take cryptocurrency from victims' wallets using various tactics, such as launching campaigns, creating deceptive websites, making connections to wallets, interacting with smart contracts, transferring assets, and using obscuration.

To break it down, a crypto drainer uses a harmful program designed to swipe cryptocurrency from your wallet. They work by fooling you into approving transactions that allow the attacker to move your funds elsewhere, often without your knowledge or consent.

Scam Sniffer, a provider of anti-scam solutions, found a series of attacks by crypto drainer malware that stole around $59 million from 63,210 victims. This was done by embedding a wallet drainer called MS Drainer in Google searches and X (formerly Twitter) ads. The attack campaign uses malicious ads on Google and X to redirect users to phishing pages.

with an increasing amount of links in circulation one should be very careful with the kind of link he clicks because almost all the links in circulation now are aimed at catching and stealing from ignorant people.

I almost fell victim of clicking on a scam link on x before i finally did a check on the authenticity on the link online, after going through the recommendations, i had to avoid that blogger totally.
Before clicking or going into any project, do the necessary research so you won't fall victim.
660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is there so much interest in popular cryptocurrencies? on: December 28, 2023, 06:26:23 AM
Why does the cryptocurrency world focus so much on highly capitalized projects, to the detriment of more promising and lesser-known ones?

Perhaps one reason is inertia - to stay with recognized, established projects instead of taking risks with young ideas. However, even with a low profile, projects like Cogitex, for example, can provide openness and transparency in their every action, which is often not enough in the world of cryptocurrencies.

Cogitex represents an innovative approach to artificial intelligence and space exploration, promising to break new ground. The question is how much the community is willing to pay attention to such projects, despite their current status.

What is more important to you in the world of cryptocurrencies - their prominence or their potential to make a real impact on the industry?
this is not just applicable in the crypto world alone, it's not always easy for an unpopular thing to be considered over a well known one no matter how great the idea of the new one might be.

People love and invest in bitcoin, Ethereum and other popular cryptocurrency firstly because of their popularity and their years of existence and no matter the greatness of the approach of another cryptocurrency that is just new to the market, what people can possibly do is to consider them a send alternative be its going to be very difficult to consider taking them over the popular ones.
