641  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Future of Gambling on: February 29, 2024, 10:39:55 AM
In my opinion the VR technology will still take a long time until implemented with top quality in order to be indeed considered virtual reality. The prototypes we have seen so far are just like video games and its 3D cartoonished models. Anyway, once the technology reaches to the point I mentioned above, not only gambling is going to be practiced in this virtual environment, but the biggest part of people's lives as well. It will be like that Bruce Willi's movie: Surrogates. People just stay at the comfort of their homes controlling virtual realities or robots from there, while feeling similar sensations they would feel if they were living the situations for real.

On the other hand, while we don't reach to that level of virtual reality, I think nothing considerable will change on the way gamblers run their betting sessions. They will still keep playing at traditional land based casinos, or at the online casino platforms we have disponible nowadays, because the current level of VR available isn't that exciting...
642  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Support, do not criticize. on: February 28, 2024, 06:22:13 PM
You have to balance criticism with support. To only go for one or another is a bad idea, because or it will put the addicted individual in a hostile position towards you and the treatment, or it will put him in a comfort zone where he will feel like no effort and changes should be done by him, because he is going to be supported in every cases.

Support must be offered when he adopts positive instances towards the treatment, so you use support as encouragement, reinforcement. On the other hand, criticism can be used when you feel like the addicted person is getting too loose, and retreating on his progress, so you use this as punishment.

You have to know when to use both of them in a way the gambler won't understand support as a reinforcement to his addiction. That would be devastating, and actually that is the problem with every permissive socities.
643  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Do You See Losing Your Weekly Payment to The Casino on: February 28, 2024, 04:33:12 PM
How do you see losing your payment to the casino?
By losing my payment to the casino, I consider it money I can't afford to lose, therefore it's a waste of money I'm going to regret later that I took the wrong decision by gambling it, since I have appointments to meet with the money I make through signature campaign. However, if it was money for leisure reasons exclusively, I wouldn't bother losing my payment to the casino, due to it being a calculated move from my side.

Do you see losing your payment back to the casino as your own form of indirect support for the project?
No. The relationship we have with casinos here is mutual. We support them by promoting their brand, and they support us by paying us for that. We accomplish tasks and get paid for that. It's benefical for both sides, I suppose. If you use your money to gamble, it's not because you are supporting the platform indirectly, rather it's because you want to maximize your earnings from the signature campaign.

Do you think that I already have a bad gambling mindset thinking that by engaging in one or two bets or games I am supporting the project I promote?
Yes. As I said above, you aren't trying to support the project. You are just trying to grow your earnings into something more substantial for your own benefit. The point is that it's not a sure thing, so you are most likely going to lose money the more you try doing this on long run.
644  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: February 28, 2024, 03:54:40 PM
$60k for 1 BTC is great news for many, however they are committed to pay 1 satoshi minimum per roll, with 50% referral commission that's a recipe for disaster, they would become unsustainable like this.

Not to mention the 0 customer support users are complaining about.

There is no harm in paying less from your faucet but keep on paying free bitcoin, over the long run this is the best thing to do.

Lastly, as mentioned, 0 customer support, there is no way to pass this message onward other than posting here, so hopefully in the near future this information could help them with their strategy and business decisions.
Freebitco.in isn't just a faucet. It's also a gambling platform. They make income from multiplier and sports/events betting. That is how the site has been kept sustainable and profitable along the years. It's not possible to compare this site to other random faucets which don't offer any additional features to users, neither benefits such as investment. The main issue here is support, which is barely non-existent. All the other features are working fine.

Moreover, faucet's rewards aren't static. They keep fluctuating as BTC gets more expensive or cheaper. That is how the platform controls the sustainability of the feature, besides always checking for fraudulent claims from bots and cheaters.
645  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The Detrimental Impact of Sports Betting on Genuine Sports Coverage on: February 28, 2024, 03:13:52 PM
Not only the teams, but also athletes and championships are sponsored by determined betting houses. I don't understand very well why it happened suddenly in sports industry. Is it that betting houses offer superior sponsor rates, or is it that previous brands aren't interested in sponsoring sports matches anymore? I remember some years ago we have several brands from fast food and technology niches everywhere on athletes' uniforms, stadiums ads and on TV propagandas, but now it seems everything turns around betting houses.

A potential detrimental impact over sports I can imagine, is the fact it can lead to more frequent events of fixed matches, as the teams and players won't be exactly working to show performance and defeat their rivals, rather they will be working to benefit determined individuals who are engaged on gambling practice. However, the determining factor to conclude if it's going to happen or not, isn't the gambling industry sponsorship over sports industry, but the ethics of the people involved on these businesses. If we are talking about an ethical society, who respects laws and its fellow citizens, there isn't a detrimental impact after all.
646  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you & friends thought of engaging on any unfamiliar activity for gambling on: February 28, 2024, 09:59:45 AM
Yes, sometimes I played cards at home, with family members, putting money at stake. It was nothing serious, and no considerable sums of money were wagered, rather it was just an initiative to add some extra fun and excitement to the game.

Sometimes we also played Bingo, which is a kind of Keno, but played manually, and you can't choose which numbers you want, just the card with determined numbers printed on it already. I had the Bingo machine and cards, so I worked like the casino on this game, selling the cards and sharing 80%-90% of the total sum of money collected as the prize for the winner, and keeping 20%-10% for myself. Who completed a line on the card won the round. Sometimes we played full card rounds, so it was more expensive, as was the final prize too.
647  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When you are not to gamble. on: February 27, 2024, 10:57:29 PM
You shouldn't gamble in several different situations, although all of them have a common element: when you can't afford to lose money. If you follow this essential guideline, you will never get confused to conclude if you should gamble or not, because it's pretty black or white.

However, when the person subverts the "can't afford to lose" mindset into the "I'm in need of money" or "I need to recover lost money", it opens a gap on the person's mind to the possibility of achieving what they are looking for through gambling, even though they can't give themselves the luxury of risking money anymore... So, always put the can't afford to lose mindset above every other excuses you could think of in order to avoid gambling.
648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How did people buy bitcoin before Mt. Gox? on: February 27, 2024, 10:09:37 PM
I would like to trade Bitcoin directly to other people through P2P transactions, but the lack of available buyers make this impossible for me. People prefer accessibility and easiness over autonomy and independency. They always go for exchanges or middlemen services, because they are instant, even though customers have to pay an extra price for that. For me it doesn't make sense at all, but what can I do? If I have to sell my coins, I don't have any options besides sticking to exchanges for that purpose.

That is how people have been dealing with Bitcoin along the years and I really don't think it's going to change anytime futurelly. It seems centralization always overcome decentralization, after all.
649  Economy / Speculation / Re: 60k possible before end of this month? on: February 27, 2024, 09:44:45 PM
I don't think Bitcoin can surpass the 60,000$ mark by the end of February. There are only 2 days left, and 3000$ to rise up. That seems too much for Bitcoin, considering how much it has already grown recently. Moreover, keep in mind rounded levels like 40,000$, 50,000$, 60,000$ are always harder to cross, because they are well known resistance levels. Once Bitcoin price reaches close to these levels the tendency is that we see corrections or price stagnation.

About the possibility of Bitcoin going up to 200,000$ or even a half million dollars after the halving, I think these are unrealistic scenarios. There isn't enough room for Bitcoin to rise so much like that, considering it grows less intensively each new halving cycles. I guess we can consider us lucky enough if Bitcoin hits the 100,000$ barrier between 2024 and 2025...

My advice is to avoid being greedy on your goals in crypto market. If you expect too much from it, you end not cashing out profit in right time, so the bear market comes, crash prices and you end having to wait until the next bullish season to sell your coins again.
650  Economy / Economics / Re: If being a graduate is the key to being wealthy, why are there poor graduates? on: February 27, 2024, 09:33:07 PM
From my observations, what I can say about this matter is that not everyone at universities are engaged on educating themselves as the should, neither display the kind of professional posture you would expect from graduated individual. Despite these factors, people still manage to finish the university successfuly. That is, they manage to get a degree, although on the next level the real challenge begins, since the jobs market filter the good from the bad professionals.

Then I believe that is where many people fall behind, because even though they have a degree, they lack skills to be accepted on different jobs spots, especially the most demanding ones. To sely have a degree nowadays doesn't mean too much. You need something else, like social skills, vast knowledge on the field you are applying to work, a sharp appearance and formal posture, besides talking correctly, without the usage of slangs.

Maybe the luck factor also play a role after all, but I guess you can raise your chances of being successful by following the hints above.
651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why inflated countries should adopt Bitcoin to help boost their economy. on: February 27, 2024, 05:35:18 PM
I totally agree Bitcoin can be helpful for a country's economy when adopted as public long term investment by the government. However, not as the sole investment, neither as official main currency. Look the example of El Salvador: they did the adoption in the right format.

Even though the digital currency is legal tender there, Bitcoin didn't replace dollar, which remained as the main currency of the country. At same time, they took advantage of the best Bitcoin could offer to the country. They have been buying the dip, that is, investing considerable amounts of money from the public vaults in BTC along past years and now that we are approaching a new bull run, they are ready to profit from their investments.

Of course they risked money, but it was done in a calculated way, what means it wasn't going to completely compromise the country's economy if something went wrong. On the other hand, if they had adopted Bitcoin as the exclusive currency of the country, I fear it could end really badly, because Bitcoin is heavily volatile and prone to manipulation by whales. It's crazyness for a country to put all their tickets in BTC, even if it's done with a good intention of fighting inflation back.

Oh? Thank you for your response. Can I ask, have you ever had problems on the platform or perhaps mailed support and got a response? Because it is very absurd that I never did, despite numerous mails, hence why I had to do a little research and found this platform. This is the very first time I have issues with the platform and look how long it's taking to get such a simple problem resolved. I feel so helpless, there could be others like me who knows...
All issues I had with the platform weren't personal or individual issues, so I just had to wait until they fixed the general issue for everyone. I remember having sent a message to their support email once, but it has never been replied. Later, I posted the message here on this thread and were replied. But these days, support is less active on this thread than in previous years. That is why I said they should hire more members for their support team.
653  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it ethical to break your gambling rules on: February 26, 2024, 04:23:11 PM
So this led me to ask the general public if I am gambling too much, although this excess didn't affect my finances in any way since I still managed to come out with little winning at the end of the day and at some level, my losses are still below 30 percent of my set out money.
Be careful with your gambling habits. To break a personal rule isn't a good indicator. Now you have to be careful to not break this rule in the future once again, besides being careful to not lose control over your finances, what would mean you are in progressive line of broken rules, and as we know this path can only lead you to the development of an addiction. Be attentive to keep your gambling routine under control. In order to do that, you have to watch and question yourself. Of course, it's always nice and enlightening to ask others for help and advices, but after all your decision is what really matters.

When you feel the urge to continue gambling, even though you know you should stop, try to occupy your mind with another subjects and activities until you forget gambling. Don't let the obsessive thoughts grow in your mind and consume your soul...
654  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy bitcoin now? on: February 26, 2024, 03:27:39 PM
Do you think it is convenient to buy bitcoin now according to your predictions? Or wait for its value to drop further?
Indeed, currently many people are speculating and predicting Bitcoin, the essence of which is that Bitcoin for 2024 will not fall again, it will most likely continue to rise at the threshold of the point where a new ATH will occur when the halving occurs, that is the basic point.

Talking about price and buying, I think for now it's not the expected price, I'm personally speculating at the $80k level, whether it will be reached or not is a matter for the rear, which is basically what I hope so, We understand that Bitcoin is currently still good to consider buying, but everyone has their own views and thoughts, to price Bitcoin based on their beliefs.
A potential boost which would push Bitcoin price to 80,000$ represents a 56% increasement in price, compared to the current price range which stays around 51,000$. That is a very sweet profit to be made in a considerable short time period which must be varying up to 1 and a half from now on. That is definitely a very good investment opportunity we don't find in another niches of investments' market. I'm fully confident in BTC and its next halving in a way I'm even more optimistic than you, since I believe Bitcoin can still reach 100,000$ or very close to this mark on the next ATH.

I guess it's an unique opportunity we are going to have, which won't be disponible on future cycles of Bitcoin market anymore. Therefore, it's a wise decision to take advantage of this impacting event to boost your finances and start improving your life quality. Not that I think it's impossible for Bitcoin to deliver profitable cycles futurely, although what I think is that each new cycle, the market gets more unpredictable and profitability tends to decrease in percertage compared to previous ones.
655  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you have this practice of gambling during one's wake on: February 26, 2024, 03:01:25 PM
not sure also whether we have a similar culture with other countries regarding this but probably the Latinos or the Hawaiians.
I live in Latin America, and it's not a common practice in the country where I live. Actually, I didn't even know people do this kind of thing, so it sounded really strange and uncommon to me, as something inappropriate for a situation where everyone adopts a formal stance towards each other, where people don't joke around, neither speak too loud, express joy or laugh. Wakes are very introspective occasions, where it seems each person reserves their time to reflect deeply and pay tribute silently to the person who has left us. In our culture, and western cultures in general, I think the least thing someone would think in a moment like that would be to gamble.

Death is a taboo in western cultures: a moment of sadness and despair in many cases, while gambling is related to joyness, excitement, leisure and pleasure. Therefore, people don't mix both.

Hello, I suppose you're one of the freebitco.in team members? Can you please look into my case, I'm sending a PM now. Thanks
This freebitco.in account is a bot which makes automatic posts on the forum. Unfortunatelly you aren't going to get a reply from it. You are facing a real nasty situation, but as far as I know the only way to access freebitco.in's support is through this forum and their official threads. They also have a Twitter account, but I don't know if it's possible to be replied there.

Freebitco.in needs to reinforce their support team with more members, because it's insanity to imagine someone may face a simple issue like that and still have to wait more than 6 months without any solutions and real time support... The way it is, it seems we have to pray to not encounter any issues on the individual sphere with the platform, rather only issues which affect the whole platform, so it's fixed with high priority.

I fear the only thing you can do for now is to keep your demand updated on this thread regularly in order to not let it be forgotten or neglected.
657  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An Unusual Story that Reflects the Current Gambling Addiction Reality on: February 26, 2024, 02:25:49 PM
Why then was there apprehension that the funds might fuel gambling rather than support the wife's medical needs?
Because gambling addicted individuals are well known for not fulfilling with their personal responsabilities and duties. It's common sense addicted gamblers have been using funds which were supposed to be used for daily expenses, basic needs to fuel their gambling habits along the time. People have seen and heard stories like this along their lives, so it's normal they are very suspicious of every addicted gamblers on their way, especially when having to donate or lend money to them.

In fact, it shouldn't be hard for the man to share his wife's personal details with the donator in order to receive funds for her health treatment. The question is, why did he give up on the donation once he concluded he couldn't receive the funds on his personal account? In my opinion it sounds shady enough, and only corroborate the donator took the right approach by asking for the woman account's details, instead of giving the money on the hands of the man.
658  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why People Have Different Perception Of Gambling Operators on: February 25, 2024, 10:07:14 PM
From your story, I can conclude people like the first brother because he gives consolation prizes to gamblers, so they see him as a nice guy who isn't greedy on his business. On the other hand, the second brother is negatively rated by your community, because he only cares about grabbing most money he can from local gamblers, without returning anything to them in counterpart. That is, he is seen as greedy, egoistical and selfish. Maybe it's all about charisma. The first brother is charismatic and charming, while giving the impression he somehow care for people. And this kind of collective imaginary starts being built inside your community, until becoming common sense.

In the end, it's all about perceptions the public has about the two brothers, although in fact we never know the true nature of their characters behind the public image they present to the community, the called 'social mask'.
659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the highest amount of money you've ever bet in a single game? on: February 25, 2024, 03:44:42 PM
The highest amount of money I've bet in a single bet was also the highest sum of money I lost gambling... I was playing dice with the maximum winning chance allowed by the house, with low odds. It looked a perfect opportunity to make easy and safe profit, since I was already coming from a loss streak of two bets, so it was unlikely the next bet would also result in loss, therefore I put 0.1BTC on the line in order to recover previous losses and still guarantee some profit. However, for my surprise, I lost it all at once....

I felt shocked on the moment, and confused on what to do next. The only thing I knew is that I shouldn't spend anything else with gambling, even though I felt tempted into doing so in several moments after that in order to chase losses. Slowly, I assimilated the situation and told myself to recover this money someway else without risking my money on gambling.

Thankfully I still had funds to invest and recover my loss through passive income investment. I did it successfuly, so I consider myself free to gamble once again, although I'm still fearful due to this previous negative experience.
660  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A lot of gambling sites are scams ! on: February 25, 2024, 11:57:04 AM
Online betting has become the main concern for the majority of young people, as players flock to casinos forcefully to obtain the largest possible amount of money. There are those who invest thousands and millions of dollars, but there is a serious problem as the majority of sites provide facilities to ensure players’ participation and entice them with large sums of money. Then they steal every cent directly. There are sites that do not target young players, as their victims are those with large amounts of money. Other sites initially deal transparently and seek to gain the trust of the players until they obtain a large audience. Then they begin their hellish plans. So , the majority of gambling sites are unsafe and it's hard to trust them .
What is the base for your claims? How can you say online gambling has become the main concern for young people, when there are so many other challenges they face during this stage of life? Moreover, casinos don't make anyone play forcefully. People gamble because they wished to gamble and consequences of this decision is entirely their responsability.

Also, gambling isn't an investment. People who are betting with thousands of millions of dollars aren't investing, rather they are gambling aware about the fact all that money can vanish from their hands, if they hit a long loss streak or successive losses. And once this happens, you can't really say the casino is stealing every cent of them, unless you have solid evidence of what you are talking about, otherwise you are just a bad gambler who can't grasp your losses and accept responsability for your acts.

In conclusion, if you think majority of gambling sites are unsafe, you have to stick to the minority of them which have built solid reputation along the years. Although I'm not so sure if you should go for any casinos at all, since it seems you have a very distorted view about how they operate and what you can expect from them as gambler.
