IPs aren't stored in the blockchain, but it's possible for someone to observe the network and correlate your IP with a given address.
Possible? Perhaps. But you can only tell while as they broadcast a new transaction to send bitcoins, and you'd have to have a lot of control over the connections that your target's client is making. If you can't guarantee that you can see ALL of your target client's connections, how would you tell the difference between a transaction that your target is relaying (after receiving it from somewhere else) or initiating? And if you can do that, then it isn't going to help to shut down the client when you aren't sending transactions, since no useful information for correlating an address to the IP is sent during that time anyhow. Right. It's possible, but it would be difficult and prone to error.

Thanks! Glad I understand that now.

BitInstant has worked great for me in the past. All you need is cash and a WalMart or CVS nearby to buy BTC, and it's fast. Also, Bitcoin-otc is a great place to find people who will sell BTC to you for just about any type of payment under the sun. Be wary though, it's also a great place to get scammed if you're not careful.

Check out BTC JAM, www.btcjam.com. Beware though there are many people that will scam you. If you are wise you can make some good investments. Beware of the confidence scam where someone does a serious of small loans and progressively makes bigger loans once they have your confidence. Also, bitcoin-OTC and their web of trust is a good place to look for information about who has worked to build their reputation. Also look at the Bitcoin Forum > Economy > Marketplace > Lending section of this forum, there is good information there as well. I've used BTCJam, but a word of advice to all newcomers: Be careful with your coins. Bitcoin itself is secure, but if you send your coins to somebody else, they won't come back by themselves. If you decide to lend out your BTC to people, be skeptical and cautious. This goes for anywhere, whether it be BTCJam, the Lending subforum, Bitcoin-otc, Bitfunder, or any other service that involves you sending your BTC to someone else in return for a promise of later repayment.

Shield contains OLED display, two buttons and USB HID chip. All parts are freely available in shops or you'll be able to buy assembled shield from us.
That's it? Would've thought it'd be a bit more complicated. Awesome!

There won't be any "development boards" for testing, but soon there'll be Raspberry shield with python software for DYI hackers, which will be wire-compatible with Trezor device.
What will one need to assemble a shield?

I don't see an option to change a vote once cast, did I overlook it or does it have to be done through support?
I want to show the current results as soon as you vote. This is not implemented yet but is my plan. I think it is not appropriate to change votes. Members can play games and change at the last minute. Like ebay bidding shit. I do not want that. When you vote that is your vote. I believe all voting systems are like this. While I do agree with everything you just said there is also the counter argument of someone misreading, misclicking, or becoming more educated (here for example). I dont want perfect to be the enemy of good, and what we have is awesome. I am just wondering if there are not some situations where changing a vote is legitimate. I think it would be appropriate to contact nonnakip in the event one wants to change their vote. This way we could prevent members playing games, while still allowing someone who misread the text to have their vote count for what they want it to count for.

All three of you are on the final list. You should have gotten emails by now. If this isn't the case, tell me so I can bug Ukto.
They can always put the email addy they used into the form at https://bitfunder.com/claimasset/ and see if it gives a result as well So we just sign up for a new account there with our email address? When I go to /claimasset it gives me the same thing that I see on the homepage of the site.

Agreed!

Everyone who has shares should have gotten an email from Bitfunder on how to setup their accounts and claim their shares.
I've also issued the 10 BTC from the Bitfunder promotion as a dividend to shareholders.
I haven't received an email. Have they all gone out? Whats your email? You might not be on the final asset list. PM'd

Honestly, no carrier would let a phone be completely open sourced. They would be too concerned about security flaws, at least in the US, fortunately with a rooted phone and web sockets, you can use a lot of that to do just about anything you need from the app if you wanted to do something with bitcoin. I like the idea of being able to use bitcoin anywhere from a phone, but I'm not sure if it could take off.
The poor security in closed-source phone OSes is a double edged sword. Phones are exposed to hacks, but this also enables "rooting" and flashing custom firmwares, allowing us to do whatever we please with our devices.
