Yeap thought about that but miners can change their own difficulty to suit their hash power.. by adding "username+0.########" instead of just "username".. change the pool difficulty and the smaller miners get more shares, but then so do the big ones..

The pool is in beta.. It was put up to see if it works and we do have a few miners.. As was mentioned before we want to change the the size of the "N" in PPLNS... It's way too big..

Right now it takes forever to get your percentage of hashpower into SXC. I've been testing on my own "private pool" and have managed to get that down to three hours. It does require the pool be restarted but the cgminer will automatically reconnect when it's back up again, and miners should not lose any submitted shares.

That might have been done today, but Lava had an emergency to attend to. I'm hoping everything will be well, and the pool will be adjusted, but i don't know what his situation is at the moment...

Yes there are differing opinions about the name and the value of having it on an exchange both in the dev team and in the wider community..

I don't think that an owner or a user of an Adult Site cares about the name.
I do think that the owner of an adult site doesn't want to mess around on cryptsy, and worry that the coins value just halved or tripled..
I suspect that they would prefer to sell coins back to the users at their own site for cash, at a stable price that most sites are using.. sell too high and people buy from a different site, sell to low and you are cutting into your own profit..

This coin is meant to be used in commerce, not speculated on in an exchange because it "could be" useful in the future.

But that is just my personal opinion, and as I have said, opinions differ on these points. I'm sure that as the coin develops we will see how it is adopted, and whether it is rebranded

Sigh.. Slept in bigtime.. It is fustrating not knowing whether the miners are getting fair shares.. From what I can see on the stats page, they are, and I'm thinking we'd be getting complaints by now if they didn't..

Missed out on the 5K block found by the pool.. I bet they were happy with that !. I've never hit one..

One thing I've kept an eye on is the network hashrate which has gone up.. at one point I thought it was slowly returning to "normal", but this morning it's moving up again..

One of the most worrisome thing for us today was the payouts.. quite simply we did not know how well they were working.. We didn't want the miners wasting their hashpower for nothing.. Don't forget we are miners and we know how it would upset us if we joined a pool and didn't get a payout.. In some cases miners were paid twice by different devs.. But the idea was to make sure miners weren't out of pocket.. And besides these miners have been loyal in backing the coin up, and they deserve a bonus..

Now you know that you can keep your miner on the pool, and if theres any problem, you won't lose out by it.

Yes Chinsu is gone, but we have kept hashpower on the network when the difficulty was ridiculously low, and while we don't have the resources chinsu had, we have some coin between us. We can't offer 500,000 as a bribe to an exchange, nor should we. But we can provide bonuses where it provides the most good...

I for instance want to hold some coin back.. when we get to the point we are providing plugins, I want those websites using SXC plugins to receive some to get them started as a promotion..

Okay.. It seems the PPLNS window changes about every 3 hours.. Which means even though I've pulled my miners off the pool to see how it goes with just the smaller miners it will take some time to adjust..

So far so good .. even getting stratum..

I agree with Freud, the reason this coin will have it's share of controversy is it will be politicized by minor repressive elements of society seeking to control the majority through a theocratic tyranny.

You will note that I am aware that one person who finds this coin morally objectionable was severly beaten by a parent as a toddler, for "acting like a slut". The parent was mentally ill and unmedicated at the time.

While I have the greatest respect for the freedom of others to choose and express their beliefs, this respect extends to discussion and choice of participation. I do not condone any attempt to prevent me from participating in any endeavour I have a legal right to pursue.

I look forward to those who find this coin morally objectionable for whatever reason not particpating in it's use and development, and it is my fevrent hope that they seek appropriate treatment for their psychological distress.    

Ok.. The reason we do not have a website with an intergrated p2pool up at the moment is server space.

I did arrange to set up a server using another internet connection. The person involved gave their permission at first, but when I spoke to them about arranging a time to set up the server, they told me they had "moral issues" beause the site has the word "Sex" in it.

I have ported the site over to another machine which will be used as a dedicated server and at the moment I am intergrating the p2pool stats page into the site.

I have spoken to my ISP and will be paying for a static IP from which to host the site. Please note at the moment I am assigned a static private IP adress, not a dynamic public IP adress, which makes hosting impossible as the usual work arounds for hosting with a dynamic address are not possible.

My ISP wants to wait until the start of my next billing cycle to make these changes, which is the 10th of the month. I'm willing to live with that, as it gives me a bit of time to get things right. I also believe that this is not the first time nor will it be the last time there will be debate over the morality of the currency.

Yes, Fendlestick could sell SXC to the public, straight off his site.. And it has occurred to me that SXC is one coin you can still mine with just a little hashpower.. once it hits the exchanges, it's the big miners that will get the lions share

I have good news and bad news, yet again.. The reason I couldn't access the stats page had nothing to do with the code and everthing to do with internet explorer.. The stats display perfectly in chrome, and thats good enough for me..

The bad news is I have no way to host a website.. My ISP has a static IP, but my gateway is a private address, and then my server is on the lan, connected to a router, connected to the gateway.. In short I can't host a server..

Max has said he may have space on a server, but he has been MIA lately, no doubt busy with catching up with work, so I'll have to wait until he pops up again.. When you consider all the hard work he did on the client, I'm not about to bother him until he has the time and inclination to do more...

However I can arrange to have my server moved to a place that has a normal (instead of a weird satelitte) internet connection, where I can temporarily host a pool and the website !.. This means I will have to shuffle the video cards because I have to make a rig that won't eat up their electricity, and if, for any reason the server goes down (e.g because of a brownout), It will take some time to get it up and running..

It's not ideal, but at the moment it's the best we can do..

While those of us interested in developing the coin further have made our desires known to the powers that be at cryptsy, it would be good if those who are mining the coin showed that it has wider support.

A " When will you add it so I can accept it as payment on my site, " or a I am accepting it as payment on my site, and am waiting to be able to turn it into something else" would probably carry more weight. SXC is one of the few coins that has had websites that have added it or want to add it.

Cryptocurrency started as a community based project, and our little coin won't get far without community support..

Well I have good news and I have bad news...

The good news it that I have a p2pool up and running on my home server..
I've connected another miner to it, and at first I was worried that the payouts were not fair, but the payouts on the connected miner are growing, so I think they will be alright..
the bad news is the stats aren't showing when I try to load the stats page.....

Well I've started playing with the P2P side of it.. Made ABE a little sick, but I've sorted that out..
 

Ok folks.. Kesley, I downloaded the P2P pool software and was just about to play with it, but my partner arrived home.. I'll have to chat to the rest of the crew regarding servers...I can't make that decision after we were arranging something else, but a new p2p pool is a priority so I'll see what we all think and where we want to go first and that may take a little while..
