641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where Are You Next 5 Years? on: August 20, 2020, 07:05:09 AM
I've decided to limit my cash in and out for the next few years. I've been looking for a ways to make more crypto from my crypto holdings.
I aim to increase my crypto holdings by 25% of current amount every year for that I'd be involved in trading of bitcoin and Ethereum against USD.  I have also personally invested on some projects and further more would be involved in such investments.
642  Economy / Economics / Re: Cash Is Trash on: August 19, 2020, 03:51:02 PM
For a person who want to make money, holding cash is the worst option. Everyone should have a bit cash to overcome any unforeseen damage to property and health but holding anything about that means depreciating your earning. Cash due to inflation depreciates in value so does house, planes, cars and yacht. There are some options that may increase in value compare to cash, crypto, land, gold, valuable metals, rare commodities, piece of art can maintain a better value than cash.
643  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Stock/Forex Trader and Cryptocurrency Trader on: August 19, 2020, 03:22:33 PM
I'm a stock trader that came to crypto trading. They are to large extent same. Crypto trading has much more freedom to traders.
The only good thing about trading stocks is you could have a look at the quarterly reports from the companies and plan your strategy accordingly. You'd have a slight idea where the price would be heading as everyone else. The chances of stock price crashing are very low. With low I means nearly impossible if you are giving some time to research.
While the crypto market is much more unpredictable as they (mostly) don't provide bonuses and dividend and neither publish their performance records.
644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: OKEx suffered the loss of $5.6 million of the recent attack on ETC network. on: August 19, 2020, 04:02:49 AM
Only delisting is not a good idea. Okex already falls behind other good exchange on volume and with ETC gone, ETC traders would move on to other exchanges. Exchanges like Binance and Huobi are already leading the ETC trade. If other exchange can keep their ETC safe, so should Okex.
But I'd personally not recommend anyone to hold or trade in ETC, it's still being traded just because some whales hold a good amount. When the dump all their coins, the prices would come crashing.
645  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin casinos to surge in German market? on: August 18, 2020, 04:04:02 PM
The good thing about bitcoin casinos is they don't need bank transactions and the Germany citizen can just play from there home and withdraw their cash (or buy some more coins)on next trip to neighboring nation. The gambling sites can be registered anywhere and they won't even have to follow german regulations as they are neither using german lands nor it's money.
646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Top 10 DeFi projects on: August 18, 2020, 02:39:23 PM
Yes, I know scam accusation on YAM and I don't know why the site still listed YAM in the list of top 10 Defi (all protocols). Is it a paid-position?

It could be like you say , i am not surprice about anything in crypto. Why this fomo about defi project , long term will not bring to us anything! Personally i don't like this kind of project.

Dappradar just reads the platform and display you the way you want it. The top 10 table is based on price of total coins coming and going of the platform. The dappradar don't maintain it and probably don't remove probable scam. The volume on YAM still seems to be quite high be it the deposits or withdrawal or combined.
Most of the times the scam quietly slips down the list but it takes time for many people to realize that.
647  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CZ: We are seeing ATH in terms of system traffic. Higher than Dec 2017 on: August 18, 2020, 12:34:13 PM
There are a increased number of people buying and trading crypto. That doesn't necessarily mean more money coming in but certainly means the interest on crypto and it's adoption is on rise. The Binance too was not as much popular as it is now in 2017 and the increase in traffic could also be a binance specific thing. It's overall a time for ATH for last two years. And Its obvious that an exchange owner would like people to trade more, it's his job to keep hyping the market. Nothing wrong on that.
648  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some good news / updates for XRP, NEO or EOS? on: August 18, 2020, 12:09:00 PM
Hi, when I am looking into my portfolio, I am considering if XRP, NEO and EOS are a good choice or it would be better to exchange them for more progressive altcoins because I didnīt hear any crucial update that is coming in the next months.

While Ethereum is going to develop ETH 2.0, Tron has Tron 4.0 update, Cardano is close to mainnet, also IOTA and ICON in someway good performing, but XRP, NEO, and EOS seems to be passive, what's your opinion?

NEO is nearly a dead coin. EOS could be a good investment for long term. XRP always finds itself to get the limelight so could be a better investment than NEO.
I'd have recommended Ethereum but it's too high at the moment, it needs a correction. Tron would be tricky, a high risk high profit coin. They have good platform for dapp but their team are shady.   IOTA and ICON are as dead as NEO.
649  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: August 18, 2020, 09:30:57 AM
Dream XI, a fantasy sports company has won the bid of sponsorship for IPL. But the amount they'd be spending is much less than what IPL was expecting. IPL was hoping for something around 300 crores while the largest bid from Dream XI was 250 crore. The long term sponsor of IPL, VIVO had to back away from their sponsorship due to anti Chinese sentiments on the government and public level. While Dream XI do still consist a minority stake of Tencent (about 20%).
650  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russian tool will make your transactions transparent on: August 18, 2020, 07:29:02 AM
According to Cointelegraph developers from Lebedev Physical Institute have successfully developed a prototype of new crypto analytics system called "Transparent Blockchain".

They claim this system effectively uses artificial intelligence to reduce anonymity of transactions in blockchains like Bitcoin, Ether, Omni, Dash and Monero.

In essense, the system enables blockchain analysts "to track the movement of digital financial assets and identify crypto service providers to fight illicit activity related to digital assets".

What do you think? Should we be worried?

The government around the world are tracking coins one way or other and this was quite predictable as every economically oppressive nation would want to monitor everyone and everything. They previously needed to track every suspicious transaction and involved addresses. Now they have created a large record of every transaction and addresses to track every move of a coin. Though there are unlimited addresses, the coins are limited and the addresses they are mined to are limited.
651  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is very excited at the moment. on: August 17, 2020, 03:59:59 PM
Last 30 minute run was crazy. Bitcoin just moved $430 in last 1 hour. This doesn't signify any great thing but a rapid move by whales to manipulate the price. The real question is how long would they be able to make it rise. Play safe on such market. Sell your coins but never 100% of it. Divide your coins and keep on selling them with increasing price. A bot would surely help. These rapid rise and falls are great for grid traders.
652  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: August 17, 2020, 03:25:50 PM
I agree with your opinion. This is why I love IPL way more than other leagues since we get to see our favorite players in action even after their retirement from international formats which previously wasn't the case.

I still remember watching Sachin, Sehwag etc play at the top of their game in the initial versions of the IPL. It somehow brings out the best versions of Cricketers in different aspects. People will pay even more attention now to the 1st game between CSK and MI.

This may be true to a certain extent. But from what I have seen, once the player retires from international cricket, his popularity takes a beating. Remember what happened to players such as Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid. IPL is a two month phenomenon and the hype won't last for the entire year. Also the fan support that these players get while playing for India is much greater than what they get while playing for the city-based teams.

May not be the case with legends because they have already done and made the country proud with their skills and whatever after their retirement from International cricket we will be witnessing will be bonus and surely as the age increases it is not going be same thing what was 10 years before. So expecting Dhoni hitting helicopter sixes like before is our assumption but reality is that it will not happen but witnessing them on field itself should be more than happy moments for the fans.

Good players do have a special place in the history. Somethings that done can't be undone. We can't compare the hard hitters at this time with the legend of old times.
It also depends on whom you asked. Every viewer has their age of crazy fan following and the one that shines at the peak of their fan following would always remain on their mind.
Personally, the tournament I watched with proper knowledge of cricket was since the 2003 world cup. Tendulkar, Ganguly, Pointing, Gilchrist and other contemporary players feels beloved to me than any new players.
Either with my change in personal preference or the change in cricket format, I'm less and less impressed by individual players. Dhoni seems to be the last indian player I loved to see playing.
653  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Automating Trades? on: August 17, 2020, 02:14:40 PM

These are the last few grid trades of my personal bot on binance. It's not possible to manually place exact amount and price in small time. That's why we need to utilize the API bot to automate our trade. I achieved this with some tweaks on zenbot.
Though bot trading is fun, there's certainly no perfect strategy.  You need to keep half of your liquidity free and your eyes open to make a good profit.
654  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Proof of the ownership of BitCoins during a Divorce on: August 16, 2020, 10:22:51 AM
Portfolio on a tracker means nothing. You should first find out where he puts the coins. If it's some exchange or online wallet like coinbase, you can claim that to court and if convinced, the judge can ask for that with the respective wallets and exchanges. If he keeps it on an non-web wallet, you would need to find the private keys to claim his possession.
You can also produce bank statements if the coins were bought using bank transfers.
655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If someone mistakenly sent you 1 ETH, what would you do? on: August 16, 2020, 07:37:34 AM

What will you do if someone accidentally or mistakenly sent you 1 ETH? Will you donate it to a charity? Will you send it back to its original owner? If it were me, I'd return it back to its original owner as long as he/she is able to provide a signed message with the address' private key proving the coin's ownership. But since crypto is widely unregulated, anyone can do as they please.

Thoughts? Huh
I think I will take that 1 ETH to use, because we will not know if it is their money or not, or if they want to give us a reward from something. In the decentralized market there is always such a risk, so when we send it by mistake, we will definitely lose all of those coins. So be alert when trading, don't let this happen.

If someone claims it to be their money and agrees to receive the money on the same address that they sent from, there would be no confusion about the ownership. But if someone claims the money and make excuses about not sending the money back on same route but a different one than you should not send them unless they provide a solid proof. But all of these could happen only if the sender and receiver know each other.
656  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make old people understand Bitcoin? on: August 15, 2020, 05:00:23 PM
It's really hard to explain new tech to old people as they are reluctant to try something that's out of their comfort zone. The thing here is many of the people hear about bitcoin on news sometimes with positive perspective while mostly negative. For me, I share with my parents about how much I hold coins and what am I doing with them but my passwords and accounts are shared with my girlfriend only as they can't properly operate wallets and exchanges.
657  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Curve DAO Token] Be careful with this project lost ~0.17BTC ~ $2000 trading it. on: August 15, 2020, 01:48:03 PM
Making right decision on right time on trading are always a hard job. We need to have a strategy to limit our profit and loss. Being too greedy or too optimistic would hurt. It's frustrating to see that the coin rises much higher after you sell but the pain is smaller than seeing it go trash. And for grid traders, don't venture anywhere away from most popular coins to be specific bitcoin and ethereum.
658  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is SegWit and LN adoption still low today? on: August 15, 2020, 12:10:07 PM
While I agree that LN is still not yet mainstream, I don't think segwit adoption is "low". How did you define it anyway? Where's the source? According to Blockchair SegWit usage has been around 30%+ in the last 3 months[1]. As for the reason, LN is still not yet as friendly as you think imo. You have to open a channel, find route and etc to send your payment. Not to mention major exchanges are not yet supporting it, so the average joe probably don't think they have to use it. That being said, are you one of those adopters or are you also not using them? Why?

[1] https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/

As stated, only the people that are living in stone age won't be using segwit. I moved to Bech32 native segwit and never felt happier.
As of LN, it's a much complex topic and maybe will never be considered a solution at current form. It has pros and cons and we can't force the community in something that is not well received by a significant group of members.  LN is an experiment one step further, it would certainly be an idea for further improvements.
659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Invest in your ability to earn more. on: August 15, 2020, 12:02:59 PM
Profit in investing is actually largely influenced by experience. What I found is good traders would never share their personalized strategy with anyone.
You can find the basics on the internet but to be a good trader, you need to experiment with different strategies while playing safe.
Just stick to most popular exchanges and most popular pairs when you start and keep trying.
660  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker Gameplays and Strategies on: August 15, 2020, 11:45:30 AM
Hi there guys!

I find it hard to play poker, as of now I am always losing on that game. Grin
But of I am not using any money yet because I know I will just lose the game. Just playing online and offline... but I am really sick on it.
Can you guys tell me more about the basics of this game. How do you play the game?

And also if you could, the strategies that can be a key for winning.

Hoping to your great responses Cheesy

There are several kinds of poker and the same sounding pokers too would have a bit different rules depending on where you play. Pokerstars have a short guide for popular types of poker games https://www.pokerstars.com/poker/games/
I also some time mess up the rules with similar games like Baduci and Badugy.
You can also find a bit detailed info about different poker games in wikipedia
