This coin(EGC) has a REALLY active dev team.

I luv the transparency..
I luv the reaction time from dev team..
I luv the way they follow up _EVERY_ single issue and question.

Most devs hides or runs at the first sight of problems.

COIN DEVS, watch this and learn.

awesome ...

im not sure, my balance was still there after the upgrade (deleted all except wallet.dat), look like there was no hard fork,

then to reduce the wallet size, i recreated one, there was no pending payouts on my pool

no mate - no hard or soft fork ...

just a few code changes to stabilize ...

and as you know - for anyone to ALWAYS backup the wallet.dat file ...

I'm confused a bit about the new wallet release. Do I need to update to the new wallet? Is is mandatory?

it is not a mandatory upgrade - bu it really 'ought' to be ...

the bip66 inclusion and the PoS checkpointing 'should' reduce the risk of a fork to a very little sum ( like most other wallets anyway ) - as well as hardcoded seednode addresses to ease sync ... thats the reason why any addnode=xxx details in the conf files should ALL be removed ...

but again - steven will verify all that when he gets back online ...

he is asleep currently ( i should be also as its late here ) but morning should be soon his side of the world Wink ...

so in direct answer to your question - no it is NOT mandatory - BUT - for the benefit of reducing the forking risk and getting the benefit of the updated code and hardcoded seednodes - you should ...

if you are on linux - and know how to compile - please do ...

windows official / osx official is on steven who will verify when and where the new wallets will be ...

all the seeds have been updated with latest compiled daemons and are running fine - and ive replaced the staking coins back into those seeds after a complete new resync on all ...

so far so good - and we are on track ...

Waiting for the compiled 1.2.1 wallet

these will be coming shortly ...

just a little time to get the windows ones compiled and tested - and i think there will be the osx ones soon after that - though steven will have to verify that one also ...

645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How will this change the world of mining?? GTX 1080 / 1070 on: June 02, 2016, 12:34:21 PM
Have you seen anybody achieve the 40 MH/s on the 290 or 390?

Why the 390x is the same speed as the 390?

My 5 x R9 290 cards right now are managing 24-25 MH/s each at best.
1350 mem clock is optimal for them (Sapphire ref boards) - anything more DROPS the hashrate fast, anything less drops it but slowly.
They stock clock at 947 - but when they thermal limit, they go down to about 900 before the hashrate gets impacted, so DEFINITELY memory system limited.

Ballpark 300 watts - have not gotten around to undervolting any of them yet, Real Life keeps getting in the way.

When Ethereum is no longer profitable, they're gonna ROCK RC5-72 - already did a bit of testing. 200kblocks/day out of ONE machine not too shabby for years-old tech.

ROCK RC5-72? ...

im misunderstanding what you are saying ...

please clarify for me ... maybe with a link that explains what that is? ...

hi all ...

so many things happening - so ill just let you all know that granite is now on the vote list for cryptopia ...

so anyone that has vote access to cryptopia - or btc spare - or dot spare - please go in and vote as we would really like to be online there ...

trading on cryptopia is great also ...

though you cant autosell any mining coins on there - the devs are working on these features in the future ...

https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/Vote ...

go to the site and help us get in ...

if we do - then we will be on bleutrade as well as safecex ( which is down at the moment ) and cryptopia ...

btw - if our total votes on cryptopia gets to more than 2million - we are in anyway ... so please help getting granite in ...

the rest of the updates will be in the next post ... as we will be moving away from this thread if i cant get my chrysophylax profile back ...

hi all ...

all the seednodes on the granite network are currently being recompiled AND going through a full resync ...

this means that it will be a couple of hours before they are fully established once again - and i will check them when they are done ...

this also means that they will be running the latest daemons ( 1.2.1.0 - at the time of writing ) and so will be uptodate with the git and current blockchain ...

they are all hardcoded within the wallet - and so no one has to do much else except REMOVE any 'addnodes=' you may currently have in your evergreen.conf file - if indeed you do have evergreen.conf file at all ...

if you are running anything earlier than wallet version 1.2.1.0 - then it is not just 'strongly' recommended you update - but is the only way you will stay uptodate with the current system changes ...

Please tell me how to remove the limit on the 4 connecting the wallet ? How to start 5-6 rig?

p.s. already found: By default you can mine only from 4 machines to the same wallet, to increase this limit set rpcthreads to value greater than 4 in spreadcoin.conf. =)

May I ask what your 5-6 rig looks like?
What are the exact specifications?
How many mainboards are you using? 2 GPUs per Mainboard?

Some photos would be awesome.

Thanks.

36х750Ti, Asrock PRO BTC =)

That's bad ass.

Got to love it when you can mine so compacted and not overheat or burn out the power cable or extension lead; or burn the walls.  Is that a paint pot just outside?

are there side and end views of this setup? ...

im impressed ...

so is the first 21 blocks mined BEFORE the launch? ...

just checking ...

#crysx

First 51 blocks are mined. 50 Blocks left to No Rewards blocks.

During the first 21 blocks, their were the premine.
For the next 30 next blocks, we confirm part of the premine + create the distribution of the ICO.

The Chain will be at block 51 at launch Smiley

all good ...

tanx ...

#crysx

No problem sir ! Smiley

Hope you'll be part of the miner !

of course Wink ...

though thefarm is not up and running as yet - its still sitting dormant for the time being ...

but ive found a new premises for it - so it will be active in a few weeks time ...

ill mine with the miner i have here for now - its not as comprehensive as thefarm is as a whole - but its nice machine Wink ...

Private Spreadcoin miner for sale with sourcecode. (0.1BTC)
NVIDIA maxwell GPU's pm for details

and yes ...
it was THIS private miner that i was using for all the nvidia cards when i was mining spreadx11 ...
#crysx

You should get your rigs up and running.

A gtx970@5MHASH is producing 4.27$ a day wich is more than mining etherum. a 750ti is doing 1.6$

well - the place ive recently applied for has been approved ...

its not exactly what i want - and is limited in a few ways - but will restart thefarm back on the track of growth again ...

it will also allow me more time ( and generate more funds ) to find the perfect place for the development of thefarm based on thegrid - which im now developing ...

so i agree with you sp ... i should - and will - get thefarm back up and running - but it cant happen for about another two weeks ...

i have also been developing / designing the unique cooling system also - and will need these new premises to continue ...

spreadminer-spmod9 runs nicely on the gigabyte 750ti oc lp cards ( i have sold quite a few of those - but still have a few left ) - but ive never tested the miner on the gigabyte 980ti g1 / extreme ...

maybe its time to - while i still have the beast with me ... its just a pain to mine with this algo - as i have to coninually change miners EVERY TIME i wish to mine something else ...

had it been all in the same miner - that would be a different story ... maybe an inclusion in ccminer-tpruvot176 fork that you have been working on? ...

what do your gigabyte 980ti g1 pull in hashwise - stock? ...

#crysx

I don't think version 9 is tuned for the 980ti. You need to play with the -X parameter to find the proper setting. The 980ti might do around 8mhash.

@SP - any chance for an updated Spreadminer with more hash for us donators?  Tongue

i second that ...

spreadminer-spmod9 does NOT compile now with fedora 23 x64 cuda 7.5 ...

ive just spend too much time trying to fix and fiddle - like the older miner and makefile changes - and it refuses to compile now ...

if there was an update to it - that would be good - and i could throw some tests here so every one can see ...

pokeytex - you have always had some good info about stats - so maybe we can both test with a new miner and compare non-oc cards ( mine ) to oc cards ( yours ) ...

im interested in testing this even further when thefarm gets running ... which is one of the reasons im out most of today ... paperwork - lawyers - more paperwork ... great stuff - NOT! ...

what do your gigabyte 980ti g1 pull in hashwise - stock? ...

and the new NVidia GTX1080 hashpower for SPR?

currently - taking into account that the miner would be compiled as is AND not optimized for 1080 as well as cuda8 - i would guesstimate it at about 25% more than the 980ti ...

thats what it seems to be doing on most other algos ...

but when devs start to optimize FOR the pascal architecture AND cuda8 - this figure will rise by a HUGE amount ...

im off to bed now ... ill test spr on the 980ti g1 tomorrow afternoon or when i get the time ...

should be interesting ...

agreed ...

especially if you are really only looking into light mining compared to heavy usage ...

and free? ... i missed that bit ...

free is the best kinda - ummm - anything ... Wink ...

#crysx

Yeah my little brother dropped by with this bag full of GPUs... and I was like ...what the hell! lol  Cool

So i now have 3 different AMD models, and I will look to gather more advanced AMD and also NVidia GPUs over time.

I believe that SpreadCoin could become THE GPU-Coin!

im always hardpressed to envision ANY coin being THE 'anything' coin ... i hear it so often - and see it used too much in crypto - that ive become jaded to any reference like that ...

BUT - in saying that - this algo is not exactly your average and one would think that statement could stand true ... but then again - 'they' DID say it was pool proof ( not pool resistant and it was in the op as well as the title of this thread when mrspread was around ) - while i was mining on a private pool pulling huge number of spr daily through the pool ...

so id like to see it happen that way - where THE gpu coin actually happens ... even though i DONT like the headache of changing miners ...

Smiley ...

658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] SpreadCoin | Decentralize Everything (decentralized blockexplorer coming) on: May 31, 2016, 02:37:34 PM
the amd miner couldnt compile properly on my systems - and the devs at the time didnt WANT to get it right to compile on every system ...

Weird that the devs didn't want to help in this situation...

A reason more for a principled dev to look into this.  Wink

mrspread ( not the hamster ) was the one that designed the original - with some help from other devs ...

he helped to his capacity - and some of the other devs could only help so much - as they had more pressing things to look at or involved with in their lives ... so the sgminer fork for spreadminer was passed over by me - as i couldnt get it to compile ... its int he thread here much much earlier ...

everyone who could - put their 1spr worth and did try and help - but ultimately i had NONE of the amd systems mining spr because it was too much of a headache to fix ... especially for mrspread - whoever the hell he is ...

those cards are VERY noisy and VERY hot when mining - and when it comes to power - at about 300w per card - i think you have been totally misinformed mate ...

i sold ALL of those style of cards to get 'a little more powerful - a little less noise - but just as much heat' cards for replacement ...

afterall - i was one of the guys that pushed the hashrate up that high at the time ...

#crysx

Yeah, with overclocking and maxing them out all the time you get what you describe.
I'm not interested in all that, and I'm not gonna complain about GPUs I received for free...  Wink
Nobody misinformed me.

Also, I am sure that nothing will get close to the heat and noise that those Bitcoin miners generated.
It was outright "dangerous" at times, weird monstrous ASIC machines created by this sketchy swiss/italian firm that went bankrupt sometime later (http://bitmine.ch/).
Atleast with the GPUs you know that you have giant corporations with experience behind it.
