641  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 20, 2023, 10:34:15 AM
Giannis though, looks like the wrist is really injured and he just used the left hand to score the first basket and then he went out. The league is still on the break though, so many players can still recover before going back to Friday's game.

You know he was hurting when he had a hard time carrying the trophy.
Giannis would have had a chance to win the MVP if he was playing, but we know he has an injury, so it's hard to risk aggravating it. Anyway, it's good to see that Tatum won the MVP award. However, I'm still not impressed with the game. I'm looking for the classic style where they also play some defense, like the East vs. West set up.
642  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Figueroa vs Magsayo WBC Interim Featherweight Title (March 4) on: February 19, 2023, 01:58:57 PM
For fans of Mark Magsayo, i know that you are eager to watch him rebound on his recent loss to Vargas but for me this is not an easy fight for him.
Figueroa and Magsayo are a perfect match because they have a similar boxing record, so yes it's not going to be easy for the latter to win on this fight.

But certainly Magsayo will do his best to redeem himself. He gained his first title but lost it 6 months later to Vargas thus it's expected now that he will prove himself again to deserve another title. I'm not really his fan but as a kababayan I wish him a goodluck for this upcoming fight.

Magsayo understands that if he still loses, it will be hard for him to get big fights and a chance to become a champion. As we can see, Magsayo is the underdog with odds around 3.20, which I believe is very attractive if you think Magsayo will win this fight. I have not seen Magsayo as an underdog in most of his fights, so it's worth trying our luck to support Magsayo and, at the same time, take advantage of the odds.
643  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight title on: February 19, 2023, 01:19:47 PM
I hope things will work out for Donaire and he shrugs off his loss against Inoue, it's hard to make a comeback coming from that devastating loss, this is a surprise replacement for Moloney there are circumstances that late replacement pulls out a surprise, like what happened to Pacquiao against Ledwaba.
I know Donaire still has it, I still see the speed and the offense against Inoue it's just the wrong strategy that backfired I'm sure his camp will not let this happen again, I just want to see Donaire going into retirement with a title he deserves it for what he has brought to the boxing community.
I am rooting for Donaire as well, I knew that he has still the capability to win this fight and we all know that Santiago is not so good as Inoue who won between him and Donaire so we can expect and we can see the more possibility that this time Donaire can bring us a the win that we are waiting, it is just that I think he need to work with his speed and agility, yes we knew everyone is getting older but that is the skill he needs to improve because if not being not so fast in boxing is not a good thing.
He still has that speed; he just looked weak because Inoue was very strong when they met. Now, he will be facing an average fighter, so there's no pressure on his part, and Donaire's chance to win here is very high. Alejandro Santiago has not won by KO since last year, so I assume that he is not really a KO artist, unlike Donaire, who can KO his opponent if his clean counterpunch hits.
644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: February 19, 2023, 11:49:31 AM
Regarding to finals MVP it might be tough to predict but if LeBron will think about adding another
trophy finals MVP is not bad during the All-Star.
I don't think LeBron will win another Finals MVP. He's injured (not 100%) and may not be too aggressive in this game. As the team's captain, he will likely focus on facilitating the ball. We'll probably see more three-point attempts, but LeBron is not known for being good at that.

We will see tomorrow if how things will it be when they are playing andshowcasing their offensive skills.
I checked my sportsbook, but there are no betting options available for this event. Do you know of a sportsbook that is offering this betting option?
645  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 19, 2023, 10:44:42 AM
Missed the dunk contest but I will watch the highlight later this day but until then , I just found out that my national TV are gonna live send NBA all star game tonight and I'm happy about it as last year I missed it because of this factor.  Grin
That's great because this is a big event in the NBA. It only happens once a year, so we shouldn't miss it

Hard to pick a winner in All Star game but I do hope we will have an entertaining game.
It's really hard because the players who are invited to play are the best on their teams, but I know you have your favorite players. So, just bet on the games they're playing in, and you'll enjoy watching the game.
646  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advantage of holding Bitcoin in time of crisis on: February 18, 2023, 10:01:45 PM
There are advantages, but in order to hold Bitcoin during times of crisis one is supposed to be able to circumvent some of the impacts of the crisis, otherwise if the crisis affects us personally, we could face a problem and then be forced to sell or ask for a loan, using our satoshis as collateral.

It is about priorities.

I think if you're in a country with high inflation and a tendency to use banks to rob the people, Bitcoin is a floatation device in a sea of horrific financial conditions.  I couldn't imagine living in a country with 100%+ inflation.  It's hard enough in the US with inflation where it is.

Well, here in my country we had one year when we reached an annual inflation of 4500%, so you do not have to imagine, you can just ask me whenever you feel like reading a horror story.  Wink

Bitcoin has clearly more advantages especially hodling it in times of inflation. Not only it will be a hedge against inflation, but knowing crypto can’t be manipulated by the government just like what they did to fiat, then it will be one good thing to beat inflation. But I guess hodling both fiat and bitcoin are way much better in order not to be completely affected with the high rising inflation.

2nd game now between Converge and NLEX seems that in this early quarter Converge driving the game, still have lots of time
for bettors who love to place bets during live games! Good Luck Kabayan!

It's a close game now with Converge still leading by 4 points but i do think the latter will win this one as NLEX is really struggling to make a bucket in this game though i hope that they will win this one or make it close as possible as i bet for them (NLEX +7.5 @1.95) but really not expecting that because of the way they play now.

I also thought they would win, but Kevin Alas came through in the end, just like his previous game in a close match, he was always there to take over the game. Franklin was unstoppable, especially with his 3-point shooting, but in the end, he got tired as NLEX did not stop working hard to win. So it happened, they won the game in a very entertaining and thrilling manner, and they deserved that big win. The best player was Kevin Alas, of course.

Team LeBron ba o Team Giannis?
649  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 18, 2023, 10:12:41 AM
Both the Clippers and the Heat are a good fit for Westbrook, but after I watched the Clippers defeated the Suns, I guess the Clippers might not get him because their current roster right now is better after the trade deadline. They have Mann already as their point guard though I don't see him as a good playmaker, and that's what Westbrook excels at. The Heat really needs a point guard.
It's also great to see Westbrook playing with the Heat. To be honest, the Heat doesn't have many star players. They have one, which is Jimmy Butler, but he's not even close to Leonard, Irving, or Luka based on stats. Westbrook will definitely help the team, as long as the chemistry clicks.

As for the Wizards and Bulls, I want to see him though with the Wizards. A reunion between Beal and Westbrook, but now they have Porzingis and Kuzma. It's like a Big 3 plus 1 in Westbrook. As for the Bulls, I guess that's why they really need him. Lonzo Ball is injured and so as Dragic. Their only PG is Coby White. I've read some articles saying that Westbrook can wait and will just sign in the off-season after his contract expires. I don't know if this is true.
No, let him play with the Heat as this team has a great potential to be a match up in the ECF. Westbrook will bring more energy on the team, him and Butler will definitely be hard to stop when they are aggressive going inside.
650  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More Awareness needed, 100$ or Bitcoin??? on: February 17, 2023, 09:59:18 PM
This is not really a surprise, because people are tuned in to physical stimulation. Anyone that are offered the same choice would go for the physical cash, because it is less trouble.. than having to open a digital wallet and then making sure that it is secure and also having to learn something new.

People are lazy by nature and it takes extra effort to acquire and store bitcoins, so they will opt for the immediate gratification with no effort at all.  Roll Eyes
With lazy and effortless people around, it’s not surprising they will always chose things without complication. But I think these kind of people are most likely not educated too because who would not settle for bitcoin if you know how high its single value is. Sometimes, we are tempt to chose things that are simply available and are easily accessible, without knowing its real value if it’s worth to be chosen or not. This does not apply for bitcoin only but in certain aspects of our life.
651  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading addiction, are you coping? on: February 17, 2023, 09:32:57 PM
Trading addiction is too different from gambling addiction or any of those you have mentioned and I think it was not necessary to be in rehab to cure such addiction. It was indeed becoming an addiction if we are in profit. Why do we have to submit ourselves to such a place if we know that we are addicted for good, not like in gambling we lose more?

Might this thing exist but I don't think anyone will do this.
True, if we only get addicted because we are in constant profits, well at least we should be thankful for it rather than cure it. Because it does not make sense really that you’ll get addicted to trading if you endure losses most of the time, probably if you chase for more profits, maybe trading addiction will possibly develop. But trading is different from gambling, it’s like trading addiction is curable than gambling, so for me, this rehabilitation center may not be totally in need for traders.
652  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: investing for beginners must be large capital or small capital. on: February 17, 2023, 09:01:09 PM
I am a beginner in bitcoin and crypto, I want to ask all of you, do you have to invest in crypto with small capital or large capital? in my opinion, if our invest in crypto for beginners and invest with large capital, it seems that if you fail, you will experience big losses, but if you make a profit, it will definitely be big, so what do you think?
If you will follow the basic rule, you should first invest with a small capital then later on, once you start making good returns from it, that’s the time to increase the amount of your capital and expect higher profits for that. That is if you want to invest safely. However, there are some investors who aim for huge returns at the start of their investment, mostly for those who have higher bankroll, there’s no wrong with it as long as they can afford to lose everything they have invested. But they should never expect that they will eventually be profitable after that, as losses are more visible especially for new investors.
653  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin gambling problem on: February 17, 2023, 08:38:07 PM
This is the just what I was looking for. A colleague has been battling gambling addiction and now I have shared the link with him. In the coming weeks I will be speaking to high school kids on the danger of gambling addicition and the articles in the blog section will coming in handy in helping me prepare adequately for my presentation.

Good, I do hope that you can reach out to your colleague and let him know about this link and hopefully he will get all the help he need to fight this addiction because it's really hard to conquer it alone, without any help from someone, whether family members or from those people who have experience the same and was able to "win" their battle.

And it's also good to hear that you are going to speak about the ill effects of gambling addiction to young kids. They should open their eyes about the dangers of gambling in their young lives.
I should say that OP has made the best decision to share this link to the forum as we can also be a good outlet to let this link be spread out especially for those who really need it the most. I just hope your colleague will be able to solve his problem through the help of this site, because if it’s still unresolved, maybe he should go for a professional help already as serious gambling addiction or serious gambling problem if left unresolved may lead to suicidal as what have written in the news.
654  Economy / Economics / Re: Untouchable Savings: Do you have it? on: February 17, 2023, 07:59:51 PM
Untouchable Saving is a sort of preparation for whatever happens to us like for emergencies and many people are doing this. It is actually we can do this if we wanted to do it and have a plan but in your case OP, I don't think we need to sacrifice our health just to spend less and save some money because it might lead to huge expenses if our health got compromised. We can do savings in the other way, what I did before is to walk from school to our house to save my fair and keep it.

Savings is good but we are also affected by the inflations. It was better to save less but invest more.

We do saving for the future, not only for emergencies but also for investments. But being a student, saving is a tough thing to do especially when our parents don't have enough money to support us and sometimes, we need to sacrifice our wants just to have some savings. If we can manage to save at least 10% of our daily budget that seems big enough.
As I do savings before, I don't think about inflation nor do I think about how much it value years from now because what is important in my mind is to make preparations for the incoming days and I have something to use when it is really in need without asking help to others or from my parents.
I do save for my family’s future and some funds too that will cover unexpected expenses in the coming days, months or years. When I say for my family’s future, that also includes some funds for potential investments as it can grow my savings if it succeed afterwards. But one thing is certain, all my savings have their own certain goals as i don’t intend to save just to make it untouchable for life.
655  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Know your limit on: February 16, 2023, 09:49:51 PM
Avoid ending up like a friend, who used all the money he has to invest in bitcoin and also took a loan, promising the lender that he will pay back when he gets paid in a month, after a month he never received the salary, I warned him doing this, because he has no doubt mixed investment with 'whatever it takes', is it safe to call this greed? I don't know.

Now he wants me to lend him some money to at least pay the loaner back and later settle me, there is more, now I have to send him some money to buy some food.

You don't have to use all your money to invest, even if you are not married yet or have other responsibilities, the best approach when planning to invest in Bitcoin is to buy with some percentage of the money you earning, maybe through business or a job.

If you do this weekly or monthly you won't feel any pressure, always remember that health is wealth.

In the first place, you don’t have to let your greed motivate you into investing. Investing has its own risks, so one should never invest with greed to the extent of investing all your life savings, or taking some loans just to invest. Those were a big NO in all types of investments. I just hope your friend is aware about this before he starts to invest. Now, he is facing the consequences of his dumb decision, and it’s up to you if you will help him or you will try to let him suffer the results of his own greediness.
656  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Crypto Currency trading without knowledge on: February 16, 2023, 09:30:41 PM

Well, you gotta start trading to gain knowledge as well. After a few readings, you gotta take action and be on the game already, you can't just keep reading. A little bit of knowledge like once you have set up your tradingview with a minimum of 3 indicators, would be enough as a basis for your trading decision.

You gain knowledge as you lose and win along your journey to trading crypto.
Losing is part of gaining knowledge and learning from it so it can also be an effective source of learning. But I believe if we can trade with trading knowledge and skills, the outcome will be a lot different since we are already aware on how to combat our future losses so we can trade most likely for profits not for losses. But in either way, we know trading losses could also be inevitable, so let’s just prepare for it and prepare some working trading strategies that will give us positive results.
657  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My perceived unconscious benefit of bitcointalk. on: February 16, 2023, 08:58:55 PM
This forum is the best if you want to learn different things in life and not just about bitcoin, crypto, finance, politics, economics, etc. You name them all and you might find everything in here. It's all complete package and what I've learned a lot is about finance (bitcoin, alts, economics).
That's why if we're not happy with this community, you're not seeing the light and the help that it's giving for free. Most resources can be found in the web but bitcointalk is something else and to mind you, satoshi was here, founded it and once has been active in here. You will feel that proud moment.
If you seek for knowledge about life’s practicality, I guess bitcointalk forum is the best option. It does not focus only in crypto and in finances, but as well as the whole aspects in life that will make you equipped and become the best version of yourself. But above all, the knowledge we can gain here is unlimited since we do learned a lot of things every now and the, thanks to the reputable forum members as they keep the forum more alive and more convenient for learning.
658  Economy / Economics / Re: How to thrive with low income in a humble area on: February 16, 2023, 08:33:49 PM
* Don't forget to spend only a teeny tiny of money on wants, and only buy wants when you have a budget oversupply. Needs first — always.

* Increase your income. Saving can do so much.
Always focus and prioritize your basic needs, that way you will sure to survive even with less amount of penny. But never settle on one income that is only giving you a minimal income. Learn to get out from your comfort zone and develop your skills and talents, that way you can accept side hustles that will provide you additional source of income. At least, you won’t struggle on your funds anymore, and you still have extra money for your savings and only spend them in times of emergencies.
659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Stephen Fulton vs. Naoya Inoue - WBC and WBO 122 lbs bout - May on: February 13, 2023, 11:27:00 AM

I think it depends on their opponents, in the Bivol fight, I would say that Bivol is great but for sure he is not yet exposed to casual boxing fans as it is the 147 lbs who is the biggest draw followed by Heavyweight division.

So yeah it's completely different division and there's not need to compare in my opinion. But we all know that Canelo get REKT by Bivol, hehehe.
That was a bad defeat by Canelo, because after he won the undisputed fight, he tried to climb but lose via unanimous decision.
He wants a rematch right away, but good thing it didn't happen because I'm afraid he will experience another lose.
More time to study Bivol is better, I'm sure he'll find a way to even their rivalry, if we called it that way.

Now's is the question whether Fulton has that ability to believed in himself to beat the Monster in his hometown.
We will know that once he is already in the ring because that's the only time he will feel how strong the punches of Inoue are.
660  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: February 13, 2023, 10:40:00 AM
I'd love to see him back the Clippers as currently, the Clippers need someone who can bring energy on the court.
Still remember the last time when Leonard was injured but the Clippers still managed to reach the WCF, it's their first time actually, and have you known that Beverly has done a big part in that success?
Well, Clippers is packed up and that's going to be a good team if he ever goes back there.
The fact that he does not have a big contract, I'm sure the Clippers have a budget to accommodate him.
However, although we might think that Beverly did a huge part in the last time Clippers went to WCF, Beverly after that season was also traded, so why would the Clippers acquire him again?

Is it really bad news for PatBev or will this just be another walk in the park?
I mean, this is actually good news as the Magic is far from being a playoff contender and might not even enter the play-in tournament.
This possible buyout will give him a chance to pick teams if ever there will be choices for him. And the Warriors are part of that rumored team who is interested to take PatBev.

I think Terrence Ross is planning to join Phoenix Suns. For the right price, they might squeeze him for a little help on both ends. The Suns already risked too much by saying goodbye to their 2 premier players Bridges and Cam Johnson, maybe Ross will add some spice to their team after getting KD.

There might be more buyouts to come. i.e. WB, Wall.
Yeah, just realized that there will be another better team that will take him out. And that with that, he'll be able to move along if ever the rumors are true if he's going to be back in Clippers.
Hopefully clippers will be able to to have him, and I also read some article that CP3 wants Melo on the team. How realiable is that?
