641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Terracoin attack caused Bter.com 50BTC loss on: August 10, 2013, 04:10:45 AM
Since TRC is steadily rising and my deposits don't even show as pending, I'm worried you forked again without installing -48 in time. I've let support know (well in advance) and mentioned it on Twitter. Not sure how better to try and get your attention when you and customers are at risk of losing money again...
642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Terracoin attack caused Bter.com 50BTC loss on: August 10, 2013, 01:11:04 AM
Hi there. I trust you upgraded to -48 in time before the mandatory block to avoid this happening again? I put in a support ticket ahead of time to make sure your staff knew another mandatory update was coming.
643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [trc] [p2pool] public TRC p2pool 0fee on: August 09, 2013, 05:45:54 PM
Thanks for updating.
644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CryptoCoin Explorer - Alt Coin Block Explorer. Now hosting 15 Coins!! on: August 09, 2013, 05:44:59 PM
The Terracoin explorer will be down for an hour or two while the database is rebuilt.

The explorer appears to have picked up a forked chain. The daemon has been updated from 0.1.35 to the current git pull 0.1.38

I think you meant .48. Smiley It was mandatory as of block 181200.
645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][Multi-Coin][Stratum] multipool.in - Always Mine the most profitable coin on: August 09, 2013, 05:43:58 PM
Hey flound, are you on -48 for TRC? Just making sure. We passed block 181200 earlier today.
646  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [Pool] Coinotron - LTC RBPPS = 2% fee + 15 confirms!! LTC payouts fees reduced on: August 08, 2013, 05:40:48 PM
Did you suspend all the auto payments for TRC? I have 30TRC sitting under confirmed balance for 12 hours.

Yep. For few days I will run payouts manually every few hours.
I've just sent a pack of payouts ( including yours )

Yet another new version/mandatory update. (Hopefully the last.) Be sure to upgrade please. Smiley

The algorithm change added in build announced 2 days ago was moved to an earlier date in order to limit the effects of current network abuse.

Our github repository was updated (tag: "v0.1.3-48") with the new block triggering the switch.

We're now building windows binary files and will upload them to sourceforge as usual.

This build will be mandatory at block 181200 which should occur in 4 to 7 days at nominal/current rate, or even earlier if the network rate gets artificially increased again.

Sorry for this switch date update, but we can't let the situation as is.

Please update as soon as you read this, as it becomes difficult to estimate the exact date when block 181200 will be mined.
648  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin High Performance on: August 08, 2013, 03:19:44 AM
Well less of a model to predict blocks/day and more of a way to measure performance. For instance, it could help someone tweak their setup to finding longer chain lengths instead of shorter. Or really, just help people understand what their tweaks are doing to performance

Exactly. Even if the prediction is way off, that isn't a big problem as long as something half the speed is also equally off with half the prediction. Need some way to compare hardware and know which machines are faster miners than others, etc.

Yeah just saw these ads myself. One claiming to be butterfly labs, and the other for their actual web site.
650  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][TRC][POOL][DGM] RoyalMiningCo Pool on: August 07, 2013, 11:08:52 PM
Pool has been updated to -47. This is a mandatory update by block 185056.
651  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Cryptsy deposits from generated blocks/coinbase on: August 06, 2013, 04:18:09 PM
Thank you for the quick reply. I don't know why exchanges refuse to accept freshly generated coins. It's so annoying.

652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin High Performance on: August 06, 2013, 03:10:14 PM
No. Thats not what he is saying/asking. 1l1l11ll1l has several relatively nice servers mining, and was wondering why the 24-core server seem to outperform those with a total of 32-cores. Refer to my response above for one possibility why.

I think the faster cpu also has larger L1 cache. Don't know if primecoin mining sits in L1 cache much though vs L2.

Edit: By faster I meant in chainsperday, not clock speed. It surprised me less cores and lower clock would do more work. The only thing jumping out at me was L1 size differences.

Terracoin build 0.1.3-46 is now available for download at our sourceforge
mirror and github repository.

This build will be mandatory at block 185056 (7 to 10 days from now).

This build includes a rewritten difficulty adjustment algorithm, returning
to a common targeting window.
Retargeting will occur at 180 blocks intervals (6 hours) based on the data
from the last 2160 blocks (3 days).

This should remove the difficulty swings we're currently experiencing and
bring more stability to the currency. This update should be the last of our
recent serie about difficulty adjustments.

A few known pool and exchange operators were included into this email
recipients, feel free to forward this email to other services not included
in this list (btc-e, vircurex, coinotron).

Known pool and exchange operators will receive a separate email in a few
minutes about the expected impact on their platform.

Version -46 is mandatory in 10K or so blocks. (Should be final update.)

If you get back into TRC at some point, -46 is mandatory in 10K or so blocks. (Should be final update.)

656  Economy / Service Discussion / Cryptsy deposits from generated blocks/coinbase on: August 06, 2013, 06:12:51 AM
Does anyone know if Cryptsy supports deposit of coins in generated blocks? That is, using a Cryptsy deposit address while solo mining or a direct payment pool like P2Pool (pays in the coinbase of the block, not afterwards via normal payment).

I wouldn't want to set up solo mining for a variety of alt coins, but if I could deposit directly to Crypsy then I could just mine at pools and send the coins there directly for sale without bothering with a local wallet/install for each coin.

Thanks!
657  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin Release - First Scientific Computing Cryptocurrency on: August 06, 2013, 03:37:28 AM
Does p2pool work with Primecoin? Or would it require some special support added?

If it did, ahmed_bodi would have already created one.

I need more sleep. Not only does the pool need the work algorithm coded in, but there's no miners so submit primecoin work either yet. Chick and egg. Smiley Except for ypool who wrote pool and miner.

659  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XPM] [ANN] Primecoin Release - First Scientific Computing Cryptocurrency on: August 04, 2013, 11:44:56 PM
There are projects out there very well developed to do work on primes using GPUs. The question is how easy would it be to port one of those projects into a Primecoin miner, and do the existing projects actually do the same work Primecoin needs. That might be the smary way to go vs trying to port existing miner code to GPU from scratch.
660  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: August 04, 2013, 04:06:05 AM
I tried using the official -22 with the older openssl and that actually did work under windows 8. I was using the -catalyst version previously (don't remember where/how/why I got that, has a slightly newer openssl). Yay.
