641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: LIKE IT OR NOT, BITCOIN IS AN INVESTMENT on: August 27, 2018, 01:37:49 PM
                              In an economic sense,
An INVESTMENT is the purchase of goods that are not consumed today but are used in the future to create wealth.
                                        In finance
An INVESTMENT is a monetary asset purchased with the idea that the asset will provide income in the future or will later be sold at a higher price for a profit.

I really don't want to turn these into an economics class but the both definition of what investments are clearly should settle the argument of whether BTC is truly an investment or not.

I consider bitcoin as an investment too , It gives huge profit to us.It can be used in paying bills or something. Bitcoin gives a lot of opportunities and benefits to its investors that is why some people choose to invest in bitcoin rather than banks, because in bitcoin they are able to control their own money and that is one of the advantage in investing in bitcoin.
642  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who will benefit the most from bitcoin/cryptocurrency? on: August 20, 2018, 02:12:33 PM
I have a friend who is interested in getting into bitcoins but he does not have a lot of savings or any major investments. He also has a lot of debts to pay and has an average wage job with a family of 4 to raise. When we were talking yesterday, I thought: who really would benefit the most from investing in bitcoin or cryptocurrency? Can those who are like my friend get into bitcoin even though he has no major investment? Or is bitcoin only for those who can afford it?
The people who will benefit the most from bitcoin are the the investors that are not afraid to risk. Investing will always risky but if you are willing to risj there is a higher chance that you get a lot of benefits and opportunities. But sometimes the benefits we get depends on how we manage our bitcoin.
643  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: When Should I Invest in Bitcoin? What is the right time? on: August 20, 2018, 01:21:58 PM
I want to know what is the right time to invest in Bitcoin. Will it benefit in short term or in long term hold?
The best time to invest in bitcoin , is the time that you are ready. If you are ready to lose or gain money . It actually depends on you but for me, Now is the best time because the market is low and its good for long term investment.
644  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: New to The Community - Any advice on where to start? on: August 19, 2018, 08:33:18 PM

645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What Can Be Done To Make Government Legalize Bitcoin on: August 19, 2018, 02:52:59 PM
Is no longer news that various countries of the world are not in support of Bitcoin either as a means of payments or for trading purpose. This are been a challenges most Bitcoin users are facing throughout the countries of the world inexception of few countries.

I have begin to see it that maybe they are thinking that adoptions of Bitcoin might bring a partial collapse of the banking system and also a means of curbing money laundering.
So, let hear your views on what can be done to make our government realised the important of Bitcoin and Blockchain Technology.
If they see that bitcoin can help their country's community and the people who leaves there then its possible for them to make it legalized in their country. Some government see bitcoin as a scam or something illegal , well we cant blame them since some people used bitcoin in illegal transactions. In my opinion , they will legalize it if they can get benefits and opportunities with bitcoin.
646  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will banks ever offer bitcoin deposits? on: August 19, 2018, 09:55:18 AM
We all know how risky bitcoin is. Let's imagine the most riskiest money deposit situation.
What do you think guys, will this moment ever come and banks decide to offer us Bitcoin deposits (e.g. fixed profit on 1 year deposit and etc).
This can be very, very profitable for banks if they make correct decisions.
P.S I don't mean freebitco.in's offer of holds on their wallet. I mean if official banks ever offer us this service.
I don't think that banks will offer bitcoin deposits since banks was handle by governments , Governments hate bitcoin a lot to the point that they are planning to kill bitcoin by banning them in their country. If ever that there is a chance , it will took a long time.
647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Scam Coin's.... What should be done? on: August 18, 2018, 10:22:26 PM
Hello Everyone,

I recently came across many coins which were made to scam from the beginning .... putting up high ROI and huge returns compelled people to join the race and in few days time the dev's scoop out leaving large number of investors stranded and summing up huge loss ... some I know gather bits from there income and trusted a coin and invested in it... some had surplus to play around but ultimately everyone lost their money to some sneaky guy who made the coin... Im sure this is the way world moves but as an individual I seriously think that there must be a way to let people get what they lost so as to keep the faith in cryptocurrencies... as I personally feel that if this trend goes on I m sure everyone will turn around from cryptocurrencies... I would personally like few opinions from the community as to what can be done... please add to the list below what you all think

1. Take the source code off existing scam and turn it into a valuable asset so everybody who invested get the returns and more community joins in.
2. Keep up a system which keeps track of the developer and should compel them to regularly communicate so it dont get marked as scam.
3. ?? please add your view

Regards

Warned others , and help them to keep their coins. I think we need enough knowledge to handle this kind of scenarios in bitcoin. We cant report it immediately . Thats why we need to be aware of everything . Bitcoin world is filled with some bad people.
648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SHOULD WE GET ALL HATERS OF BITCOIN OUT OF HERE? on: August 18, 2018, 04:54:37 PM
This forum was created for people to learn more about bitcoin and not to hate it or spread false information about it. Guys, is it enough that these days we sit here Angry and here all sorts of FUD being spread about bitcoin saying all sorts of things which are not true???
Let's not forget that it is as a result of these these FUDs that brings all sorts of panic sells which brings the value of bitcoin down and what bores me is that at the end the come back here and say, "Finally bitcoin is dead" forgetting the very fact that they were the very ones that caused it. But they can't because bitcoin is still strong.
For me , Its not bad for them to stay in bitcoin because they are able to bring up some fun. Its kinda funny how they tell us that bitcoin is dead or something similar to that,But yes they deserve to get out of here they just closing our minds about the real purpose of bitcoin. They keep spreading false news about bitcoin thats why I agree with you.
649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I CHOSE BITCOIN INVESTMENT OVER BANK INVESTMENT on: August 18, 2018, 03:55:43 PM
Knowing the crypto world was the best thing I have ever done. Today I was given an amount of $20000 by my uncle to make an investment for him at the bank so that by the end of the year he can get some additional money added to his capital. I sat down and calculated and found out that, investing at the bank will give him just $2000 interest.

I then called him and explain to him about cryptocurrency and how secured it is with evidences and it price increment for last year. After seeing it he told me to invest that amount into BITCOIN and I have done it for him. I know that is volatile and can fluctuate but I made time to explain to him that although the market is red now but when the green days come he will get not less thank $25000 added to his capital. I know I did the right thing and he will surely laugh some days to come. What do you think guys?
Nice decision , but lets admit it that bitcoin is more risky than banks. Banks is safer because they are able to control and manage your money. But in bitcoin you have the right to control your own money and that is one of the advantage of bitcoin. Bitcoin gives huge profit than banks thats why me and some of us choose to invest in bitcoin rather than banks.
650  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this the end of Bitcoin ? on: August 18, 2018, 02:32:33 PM
I have seen the crypto market for last 1 year and the last 6 months are not so good for BTC and Alts.
The total market cap is going down and price of BTC is pumping and dumping again and again.
What should we do now hold or take a exit and wait for more drop ?

I always choose to hold than to leave bitcoin since it change my life. I know that bitcoin will recover and can get through this kind of situation. Besides, this is normal we need to get used to this. For now, I suggest to everyone that be patient and everything will be fine.
651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin grows everyday through Shared knowledge on: August 17, 2018, 11:29:15 PM
I came across a quote made by someone on this forum which goes like,'An open mind is one of the best assets when it come to cryptocurrency'.
This quote got me thinking, to make bitcoin (cryptocurrency) grow everyday in relation to clearing all misconceptions people have, we need to share our little knowledge about bitcoin on this forum. Sharing of  knowledge will create an atmosphere for people to be open minded and also help newbie investors to understand the crypto world and the market. I realized there is quite a great number of very helpful people and resources on this forum.
What do you guys think? Do you agree with me?
I agree with you. There were so many inspiring people who share their knowledge to us and we learn something about their story. Thats why we need to learn some knowledge about bitcoin so if someone ask for some help we can help them.
652  Economy / Speculation / Re: situation about the condition of bitcoin ! on: August 17, 2018, 10:54:19 PM
when we see the situation of bitcoin prices that are constantly falling, what can you do? is it only enough to read articles about information only. ask for instructions and suggestions. Thank you for the time.

regards

indoagung
Yes thats right but each of us has dufferent way on how are we going to manage our own bitcoin. Some of us prefer to hold since the price isnt good they just wait until the price rise again. And some people already chose to sell their bitcoin . For me the best thing to do rightnow is to hold your btc .
653  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin in Southeast Asia be legal? on: August 17, 2018, 03:09:39 PM
Because to my knowledge there are several countries in southeast asia that have not legalized bitcoin. And what is our endeavor for bitcoin in southeast asia to be legal like any other country (which has legalized bitcoin).
Will the impact be positive or negative?
We all know that there will always be a positive and negative impact but yes there is a chance that bitcoin can be legal in Southeast asia in fact a country like Philippines which is belongs im southeast asia countries, already know about bitcoin and cryptocurrency. Some filipinos choose to invest in bitcoin. And it also depends on the government if they are going to ban bitcoin in their country but lets just hope.
654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's strength is that nobody can crack it yet on: August 13, 2018, 10:10:21 AM
And it will remain so for a long time.
No government, no parties can effectively ban it and put their hand on it. They would have to ban internet first. Not likely.
That would be the end of free world we know.
We cant determine that but lets just hope because I know that government really hates bitcoin that they will find a way to destroy it. We cant predict what will happen in the future.
655  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: NO! Do Not Invest all you have on Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies on: August 13, 2018, 09:08:12 AM
I have read several posts on this forum where people have claimed to have invested all the money they have on Bitcoin, I also read a post where a guy claimed to have used all the $20,000 his uncle gave him to also invest in Bitcoin, some even sold their landed property. The reason for these risks and others is the firm believe that Bitcoin would be $50,000 - $100,000 by the year 2019 or thereabout.

First, I must say that I admire the courage and high risk appetite of such persons. But, I must also warn.
Yes, It is good for everyone to have high hopes for Bitcoin, and also hope it gets to 100k USD in future, but you should also consider a safety factor in anything you do including investing.

Mathematically,

DO NOT Assume,
P(Success of future term) = 1 ; and
P(Failure of future term) = 0

This implies that, you must always leave a little fraction for probability of failure which in this case is the safety factor, no matter how little the fraction may be. Simply put, you don't have absolute control of what happens to Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies in the future.

Invest wisely, only invest what you can afford to loose

Just a piece of advice.

What are your own suggestions?
Thats right you cant assure that it will be successful so dont invest all you have on bitcoin. You need to be very careful on every decision you made. Investing is always a risk so you need to be very wise on everything. If you think that its kinda easy to earn bigger profit in bitcoin then no. You need to have some courage if you are going to invest.
656  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What you should learnt during this bear seasons. on: August 13, 2018, 07:49:15 AM
Crypto will bounce back no doubts. There is always period of boom and periods of depression for healthy balance.

Even in normal economics...There have been periods of boom and recessions. But things will return back soon. The question is what can you make out of the situation? What should you do and not do?

What you should be doing now is investing or buying and having a mountain of patience for the boom period.

What you shouldn't be doing now is selling. Sometimes things like this happens for good reason. At least if not for anything, it affords us the wisdom to appreciate crypto and be prepared to take our profits and run away...

I can't imagine seeing 50% in crypto and not selling anymore especially with very heavy capital invested.
I think the best thing to do now is to wait patiently . We must learn to be patience in everything so we can get big outcome in return. And that's right that its not the right time to sell since the price isnt good. Hold is the best strategy right now.
657  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 5 Ways to Avoid Bitcoin Scams on: August 11, 2018, 03:38:25 PM
As interest in digital currencies increases such as Bitcoin, more and more Bitcoin scams promise high returns. Unrealistic lure is clearly a mere cover, and usually ends with the loss of clients' funds. Fraud often spreads in social circles based on trusted relationships. Therefore, we must be aware that there are cunning fraudsters who can actively seek ways to deceive with absurd tricks and offers.

How to avoid bitcoin scams :

1. Know What You Are Facing

You don't need to rush to decide whether an investment product is a scam or not. All you need to do is, take a moment to find complete information about the project. The easiest way to do this is to find information in the form of company details or Whitepaper (if ICO), and other things related to the investment product. Learn all the details carefully and do some research on testimonials, comments, and so on. Another way is to join a Bitcoin forum like Bitcointalk, and immediately ask for credibility of an investment product or company to other members.

2. Avoid Unrealistic Offerings

Usually, crypto currency fraud can disguise its identity by using a social media account or advertising banner that looks professional. Mark Steward, director of FCA law enforcement, explained that when people become more skeptical of the real world regarding investment and consumer habits have changed, investment fraud has moved into the realm of Online and social media.

How to avoid this Bitcoin Scam is, you are better selective about all investment offerings from the Online platform that you did not ask for, whether through social media, email, or even by telephone. Even if it looks official, pay attention to how it is offered. Con artists usually dare to promise high profits to lure victims. So if you feel the promise of profits is unrealistic, immediately ignore the proposed offer.

3. Beware of Phising Web Pages

Increased interest in crypto currencies makes many new investors enter the market. Lots of land in a fake landing page that claims to be a popular digital currency exchange platform. One example is the one that uses the Punycode technique. Through this method, the fake domain 'xn - inance-hrb [dot] com' can be displayed as 'ƅinance [dot] com'. This technique is usually able to deceive consumers, because web pages can look really like the original. You can overcome this by being aware of vulnerabilities that exist in internet browsers, such as Chrome, Firefox, and Opera,

4. Beware of Fake Digital Wallets

Fake virtual wallets often appear online or at the mobile app store. In the example of a fake Wallet fraud that happened, more than $ 3.3 million was stolen from users who want to claim their Bitcoin Gold. To anticipate similar events, many Bitcoin Wallet providers caution clients to be aware of the cloning of scammers who want to steal victim funds by imitating their appearance.

MyEtherWallet for example, warns customers about fake MyEtherWallet in December. In addition, before choosing a digital wallet provider, do research first. Please share opinions on leading crypto forums, both local and foreign. In essence, only use the Wallet provider with a good track record.

5. Beware of Bitcoin Thief Malware

Malware is something that concerns computer owners. But now, a new category of malware capable of stealing Bitcoin-related data has appeared. Malware authorized by the computer owner is able to record typing or search for a file with the keyword "Account", "Password", "Bitcoin", "Wallet", or other keywords specified by the author, then upload the file to an anonymous server automatically.

In addition, there is also a malware that seeks to absorb the computing power of computer users to mine crypto. Anticipating this, YouTube is trying to deactivate ads that take computing power to mine crypto currencies. It is believed, after users see the related ad videos, the computer becomes slow and there will be warnings from anti-virus programs. Malware like this can steal up to 100% of computing power to mine crypto currencies (generally Monero). The solution that can be applied here is to install strong anti-virus protection and active Firewall to protect the computer.
We all know that scam is already happening before in bitcoin until now. I think having some basic knowledge about bitcoin can help on how are we going to avoid scammers. This information is very helpful to us and especially to those begginers. We nees to be aware on everything .
658  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you still holding when market price falls abnormally? on: August 11, 2018, 02:49:09 PM
I like to know your stand against the current market price falls down that relatively almost in the danger zone for the crypto holders if they still hold their crypto it might be one day that they will going to lose all their money. My ideals is different i had to sell it though it means that i had to lose some of my money. Anyway i could invest again when market price recovers but not for now seeing crypto market looks so bad. Will you still hold?
Yes I will. I will hold until the price is good. Holding is the best strategy now. For me ,I can earn bigger profit even tho Im holding because I know holding is worth the wait.
659  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin go under regulation on: August 10, 2018, 05:52:27 PM
Many government are seeing Bitcoin or cryptocurrency as a threat to their financial system and they think it should be regulated to solve the problem. Do you think they can regulate Bitcoin ?
As far as I know , there are some countries that make some regulation about bitcoin so they know that people in there country used it in a proper way. May of us gets some benefit if ever right?
660  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't worry, Bitcoin will be fine. on: August 10, 2018, 03:50:22 PM
why does everyone start to panicking when they see the price of Bitcoin dropping so much, in my opinion it is natural that the price of Bitcoin falls because Bitcoin has experienced the same thing as now, so I suggest not to be afraid and panic.

we will see from this graphic :
1. On April 29, 2013 the price of Bitcoin was only $ 135.30

2. and on November 30, 2013 the price of Bitcoin increase high at the price of $ 1,149.14

3. then on January 2, 2014 the price of Bitcoin decreased at a price of $ 773.40 and on December 31, 2016 the price of Bitcoin began to increase again

4. and the price of Bitcoin began to rise high at the price of $ 19,783.30 on the 17th of December 2017

and as we know, now the price of Bitcoin at $ 6,948.46 and this is indeed down very far compared to prices on December 17, 2017, but it has already happened in 2014 where the price of Bitcoin dropped very far and it continues until 2016 and in 2017 finally Bitcoin prices start to increase again (it takes around 3 years to make Bitcoin prices rise). so from that, I'm sure the price of Bitcoin will increase again even though the time needed is not short.

Well we cant blame them , some of them are lack of knowledge about bitcoin and some of them really need some money to sustain their needs. But dont worry guys bitcoin will be fine lets just hope and continue om supporting bitcoin.
